Summary
Synopsis:
Xiao Jin transmigrated into a cliche, angsty novel as a minor, 18th-tier female character.
She was a peculiar woman who was crippled, cross-dressed as a man, and was infatuated with the male lead.
None of that mattered because she wouldn’t even live for three chapters.
The cannon fodder character, also named Xiao Jin, was the third prince of the Qi Kingdom, renowned for his heroic war efforts. Known as the “Ghost Rakshasa,” he was a name that struck fear into the hearts of enemy generals.
Yet, this very war god was crippled in both legs after a great battle and suffered from a debilitating lung disease, leaving him constantly on the verge of death.
The reason was simple: this was an angst novel.
The male lead was the Crown Prince of Qi, and the female lead was a princess of a conquered kingdom.
Xiao Jin’s only purpose was to destroy the female lead’s country and then gracefully die.
At this moment, Xiao Jin looked at her crippled legs and the large pool of blood she had just coughed up, and her spirit broke.
She kindly instructed her butler to prepare a coffin so she could lie down and die on an auspicious day.
Then, the system’s mechanical voice sounded.
“Warning! The host has only 48 hours of life remaining. Please complete the first mission as soon as possible. Completing the mission will extend your life.”
“Mission 1: Snatch the Bride—forcibly marry the female lead, who is about to marry the male second lead.”
System: “Just a friendly reminder, Host, your life countdown will only stop and you will be able to return to your original world after you’ve completed all missions and then let the female lead kill you.”
Xiao Jin was speechless.
She pictured herself, a patient with late-stage lung cancer who couldn’t stand on her own, confidently rolling her wheelchair to snatch the bride on the female lead’s wedding day.
“…”
Xiao Jin: “Can I choose to die instead?”
System: “No, Host.”
After many twists and turns, Xiao Jin finally completed all her missions.
On that day, the sky was high and vast, and autumn geese flew south.
Chu Shao stepped over the corpses of the cannon fodder, returned to her homeland, and ascended the throne.
All of the Nine Provinces and Four Seas submitted to her.
Xiao Jin, dressed in a prisoner’s uniform, was escorted by guards. She sat in her wheelchair, looking up at the new emperor.
She felt fulfilled.
Now, everything was ready. She just had to wait for Chu Shao to give her the final blow.
Empress Chu Shao’s face was peerless, and twelve tassels hung from her crown.
She held a long sword and walked down the steps, gazing at Xiao Jin with a gentle look.
Just as Xiao Jin thought she would be stabbed through the heart, Chu Shao raised her sword and slit the throats of the guards.
The remaining guards turned pale and fell to their knees.
Holding her hands full of red blood, Chu Shao knelt before Xiao Jin. As if she was looking up at a god, she stared at her for a long time.
Then, she dropped the bloody sword and said with a trembling voice, “Don’t leave me.”

[Important Disclaimers!!]
Although the novel is tagged as “lighthearted,” some parts aren’t particularly easygoing.
Chapters 138-140 and 77-80 involve the storyline of the previous generation’s elders, which is full of cliche drama and non-virgin characters. Please purchase with caution.

[Reading Guide]
This is a fictional feel-good story; please refrain from excessive scrutiny.
The female lead, Chu Shao, is a yandere and isn’t quite normal. The system isn’t very useful, and Xiao Jin mainly survives by bluffing her way through everything.
The ending has a twist and is a happy ending (HE). The explanation of the timeline is in the author’s notes of chapter 175.
