A Female Lead Wants a Lifelong Union With Me (Quick Transmigration) - Chapter 11
Before An He had a chance to respond, Lin Ruoxue had already taken the initiative.
Using the same posture as before, Lin Ruoxue easily picked An He up and, taking the stairs two at a time, returned to the bedside and placed her back onto the bed.
An He’s clothing was somewhat thin, and since it was already night, there was a hint of chill in the air. Fearing she might catch a cold, Lin Ruoxue forced her to lie down and even grabbed the quilt to wrap her tightly inside.
Once finished, Lin Ruoxue noticed An He staring at her and couldn’t help but let out a soft smile.
She looked just like a little puppy, standing there with wide eyes waiting for a reward.
If it weren’t for the various “indescribable” things Lin Ruoxue had just done to her, An He might have even wanted to reach out and rub her head. But An He knew she couldn’t be fooled by the illusion before her.
“Let me out,” An He said from within the “sealing spell” of the quilt, her expression looking quite disgruntled.
As soon as she spoke, she realized her voice was incredibly hoarse—likely because she had “shouted” too much at noon. Now, she sounded like a squawking duck.
System: “Don’t flatter yourself. A duck sounds better than you do right now.”
An He: “…”
Lin Ruoxue didn’t respond, whether because she didn’t hear or was just pretending not to.
An He was forced to take a deep breath, straining to raise her volume, and continued to shout in that duck-like voice: “Let me out!”
Lin Ruoxue still ignored her. Not only did she ignore her, she continued to smile at her with an air of “human and animal harmlessness.”
An He: Smile at your sister! I’m hungry, don’t you know?!
Seeing that Lin Ruoxue was dead-set on playing deaf, An He realized that when it came to eating, she couldn’t rely on anyone but herself. Especially when facing an unprincipled fox like Lin Ruoxue, she couldn’t be soft-hearted; every move had to be fast, accurate, and ruthless.
For example, this quilt on her body—she had to flip it open with a clap, and then, in the moment it blocked Lin Ruoxue’s line of sight, she’d hurry to put on her… shoes.
She didn’t manage to put them on. In the next second, Lin Ruoxue grabbed her by the shoulder.
The moment the quilt fell, she saw the smile on Lin Ruoxue’s face vanish.
“Xixi sure is spirited,” she then heard Lin Ruoxue say. “Didn’t get enough at noon? Want to go another round?”
An He felt like coughing up blood at this “soul-piercing” question.
“I’m… hungry.” Finally, truly afraid that Lin Ruoxue would drag her into another round, An He hardened her heart and spoke her true thoughts.
Her voice was tiny as she said it, filled with such embarrassment that if there were a crack in the floor, she would have dived right in. She wondered if Lin Ruoxue would laugh…
Before she could finish the thought, she heard a pfft from Lin Ruoxue’s side.
An He: I knew I shouldn’t have said it! Saying it just leads to being mocked!
However, perhaps seeing An He’s frustration, Lin Ruoxue managed to force her laugh back down. She stood up, snatched An He’s outer robe from the bed railing, and gently draped it over her shoulders.
An He was a bit dazed by this sudden gesture. Before she could react, she saw Lin Ruoxue crouch down in front of her. With a soft, shimmering light in her eyes, she parted her lips and whispered a few words to An He.
“Let’s go. Let’s go eat.”
In that moment, An He suddenly felt as if a pair of large white wings had sprouted from the woman’s back.
“Okay,” An He replied, feeling a bit touched.
Lin Ruoxue smiled and, without a word, picked An He up again and carried her downstairs.
The dishes An He had made at noon were still on the table, untouched. She even discovered that Lin Ruoxue had thoughtfully plated the vegetables she’d left in the wok, arranging them quite beautifully on the table.
Lin Ruoxue set her down on the long bench, right next to the plate of green vegetables.
At first, An He didn’t think much of it and sat there waiting happily. For this brief moment, she found Lin Ruoxue quite pleasing to the eye; her gaze stuck to the woman unconsciously, a slight smile on her lips.
She saw Lin Ruoxue stand up and perform a minor spell, causing the dishes on the table to instantly start steaming with heat. Then, Lin Ruoxue went to the kitchen and brought out two bowls and two pairs of chopsticks for them.
If it weren’t for her “character setting,” An He almost would have blurted out a thank you.
“Look at that,” she sighed to the System in her mind. “Even though she ‘slept’ with me, it doesn’t prove she has no conscience.”
“Oh-ho,” the System replied with an ambiguous tone.
While she was talking to the System, Lin Ruoxue sat down across from her.
The outside was still very lively. Fireworks were blooming in the sky, and the light from lanterns squeezed through the cracks in the room, bringing a sense of softness and warmth. Lin Ruoxue sat face-to-face with An He, a picture of pure harmony.
In this harmony, Lin Ruoxue curled her lips into a smile and pushed the plate of green vegetables further toward An He.
“Time to eat, Xixi,” she said softly.
An He didn’t speak. She stared at the vegetables in front of her, stunned.
“I have a bad feeling brewing in my heart,” she couldn’t help but start pestering the System again. “I feel like she’s going to embezzle all my meat.”
“Oh-ho,” the System said.
An He: “…”
Seeing her motionless, Lin Ruoxue thought she was just being shy about her “noble” image, so she thoughtfully stood up and scooped more than half the vegetables onto An He’s plate.
An He: ??? Is this what I wanted? I want to eat meat!
“Eat up,” Lin Ruoxue said with a nod after sitting back down.
An He truly wanted to spit blood. The System mocked her in her head, laughing while playing the sound effects of firecrackers. If An He had the authority to block it, she would have blocked the System instantly.
But she didn’t.
An He sighed and, under the double blow of Lin Ruoxue and the System, gloomily finished her bowl of green vegetables.
Then came the “delightful” post-meal digestion time. Although An He was already feeling sleepy after eating, Lin Ruoxue forced her to go out for a stroll for the sake of her health.
An He was wrapped up so tightly in layers of clothes that she walked like a penguin. Lin Ruoxue wanted to laugh at the sight, yet found her heart fluttering with affection.
Finally, she couldn’t resist. She leaned down, wanting to kiss the person before her.
Fireworks happened to go off again at that moment, blooming like flowers in the night sky and scattering tiny, glittering stars. The stars fell to the ground and shimmered in the depths of Lin Ruoxue’s eyes.
“I love you,” she whispered, smiling with pure joy.
