A Homophobic Woman Reborn to Turn the Movie Queen Gay - Chapter 2
Ye Shixun hurriedly took the money, bid farewell to Feng Liu, and rushed toward the hospital.
Fortunately, in her previous life, she had been hospitalized by accident, and Gu Su’an had told her during a visit: “Eight years ago, my sister passed away in this very hospital. And it was here that I sold myself to that devil.”
As the doctor reminded her over and over to perform the surgery as soon as possible, Gu Su’an finally gathered the courage to dial that person’s number.
The moment the ringback tone started, the light in Gu Su’an’s eyes died out completely.
Su Yun had scouted a new “toy” these past few days and was currently waiting in her office for that person’s call.
When her phone suddenly rang, she looked at the unfamiliar number. Naturally, the image of that stubborn and beautiful woman came to mind—she really was a fine toy.
The corners of Su Yun’s mouth slowly curled up as she picked up the phone unhurriedly. In her mind, she could already see the woman beneath her, weeping and pleading through a stream of tears. Just thinking about it was exhilarating.
Just as Su Yun connected the call, the woman’s anxious yet exceptionally pleasant voice came through.
“Hello, Miss Su. This is Gu Su’an, do you remember me?”
Su Yun loved the feeling of playing with people in the palm of her hand; Gu Su’an’s urgency felt like a strange sort of temptation to her. She wanted to hear this woman’s voice as she wept in helplessness.
“Hello, Miss Su? Are you listening? Miss Su?”
It must be said that Gu Su’an was nearly out of her mind with worry. The desperation in her voice put Su Yun in a great mood. She spoke slowly: “Hmm? Miss Gu, is it? Regarding that matter I proposed to you…”
Beep, beep, beep…
Before Su Yun could finish, the other end had already hung up. Looking at the black screen of her phone, she smashed it against the wall in a fit of rage. In all her years, no one had ever dared to hang up on her so casually.
A dangerous curve formed at the corner of Su Yun’s lips; it seemed it was time for her to make a trip to the hospital personally.
Inside the hospital, Gu Su’an stared at the panting, sweat-drenched woman in front of her. She couldn’t help but freeze, then looked at the phone in the woman’s hand. Gu Su’an snatched it back, only to find that the person had already turned it off.
In a fit of fury, Gu Su’an slapped the person across the face, her eyes bloodshot as she shouted: “Are you insane? What right do you have to grab my phone and hang up on me?”
The moment Ye Shixun saw Gu Su’an, her mind went completely blank. Was the humble and timid woman from her memory actually this beautiful once? No wonder the devil wanted to keep her caged.
Feeling the burning pain on her cheek, Ye Shixun didn’t get angry; instead, she laughed. An’an, it’s so good that you’re still alive.
Gu Su’an had been blinded by rage, but as she calmed down and saw Ye Shixun’s red, swollen cheek—and felt her own palm tingling—she suddenly didn’t know how to apologize.
Ye Shixun saw various complex emotions flooding Gu Su’an’s eyes, the most prominent of which was worry.
“An… Miss Gu. Hello. I am a friend of your sister’s. Years ago, I was in a car accident, and it was your sister who saved my life by getting me to the hospital in time. I heard she had an accident and that your family is in a difficult financial situation. Therefore, I will cover her medical and surgery expenses. Consider it a chance for me to repay her kindness.”
Ye Shixun stumbled through the excuse she had prepared long ago. However, seeing the flash of surprise and hesitation in Gu Su’an’s eyes, Ye Shixun became very nervous. She was afraid Gu Su’an would refuse her help and seek out that devil instead. Glancing at the switched-off phone in Gu Su’an’s hand, Ye Shixun felt grateful there had been no traffic jam today. Otherwise, arriving just a bit later, Gu Su’an might have already struck a deal with that woman.
Gu Su’an didn’t know this woman’s background, but hearing that she would pay for her sister’s surgery, she pushed aside her doubts and gripped Ye Shixun’s hand tightly: “Thank you. I will definitely pay you back as soon as possible.”
“Yes, we can discuss those things later. Right now, it’s best to contact the doctor and get the surgery done early.” Ye Shixun knew Gu Su’an’s personality; if she were to refuse the repayment outright, even if Gu Su’an accepted the money, she would feel uneasy. At the very least, Gu Su’an would surely lose sleep over it for the next few days.
The moment Gu Su’an’s sister was wheeled into the operating room, Ye Shixun actually became more nervous than Gu Su’an. No one understood better than Ye Shixun how important this sister was to Gu Su’an.
Gu Su’an originally came from a wealthy family, but unfortunately, the family went bankrupt a few years ago. Her parents, unable to handle the blow, left this world together, leaving behind the older Gu sister—who had congenital heart disease—and Gu Su’an, who was still in university.
To ensure Gu Su’an could finish her degree, the older sister worked herself to the bone despite her illness. After two years of exhaustion, her body finally gave out, and she collapsed on the road, where a kind passerby sent her to the hospital. A relapse followed, and Gu Su’an, who had just entered the industry and had nothing, simply couldn’t afford the surgery.
Ye Shixun gently took Gu Su’an’s cold hand and comforted her softly: “Don’t worry, your sister will be fine.”
“Thank you.” Gu Su’an stared fixedly at the closed doors of the operating room.
After a long while, Gu Su’an finally remembered the presence of the woman beside her. She didn’t even know her name yet.
“Hello, may I know your name?” Seeing how exhausted Ye Shixun looked, Gu Su’an’s tone became even softer.
Ye Shixun spoke very solemnly: “My name is Ye Shixun. ‘Ye’ as in leaf, ‘Shi’ as in time, and ‘Xun’ as in to search. You can just call me A-Xun, Miss Gu.”
Gu Su’an didn’t understand why she introduced her name so formally, but looking at that earnest expression, she thought those three words would likely be carved deep into her heart and stay there for a lifetime.
The two sat there in a state of nervous anticipation, waiting amidst worry and fear.
Ye Shixun took out her phone to check the time; it was already past two in the afternoon. She had been so busy she hadn’t eaten breakfast, and Gu Su’an, being so worried about her sister, definitely hadn’t eaten properly either.
“An… Miss Gu, you wait here for the results first. I’ll go buy some food and come back in a bit.” Ye Shixun nearly called her “An’an,” and even though she tried to be careful with the address, the sense of intimacy in her tone did not go unnoticed by Gu Su’an.
Gu Su’an nodded subconsciously and forced a weak smile: “A-Xun, call me An’an. My sister usually calls me that.”
It was a very simple sentence, yet Ye Shixun was filled with joy. Her greatest fear was that being reborn would change things—for instance, that Gu Su’an might not fall in love with her in this life.
Shortly after Ye Shixun left, a flamboyantly dressed woman arrived at the hospital accompanied by several bodyguards in black.
