A Paranoid Alpha Childhood Friend is Acting Spoiled Again - Chapter 9
The back-and-forth between the group quickly drew the attention of the butler and the servants. Mrs. Wang didn’t want to make a big scene; if Tang Guanqing and Bai Xiaozhu were called in to mediate, she knew she wouldn’t come out on top.
Furthermore, she knew the couple very well. They might seem strict with their daughter, Tang Mo, but beneath that severity, they doted on her incredibly. As long as Tang Mo asked for something—and it wasn’t a matter of grave consequence—they would grant it unconditionally.
If Tang Mo actually filed a formal complaint against her today, her trip would have been for nothing. She might even face subtle retaliation in her future business dealings—it simply wasn’t worth the risk.
“Little Miss Momo, Auntie Wang really didn’t mean that!” Mrs. Wang quickly changed the subject. “Let’s not talk about that. By the way, I brought Zitao over today. Didn’t you always say you were lonely and bored? Auntie Wang specifically brought him to keep you company. Zitao, get over here!”
Zitao was the boy on the sofa who had been stuffing grapes into his mouth since the beginning. He hadn’t stopped for a second; even now, he was reaching for more. Hearing his mother call him, he turned his head with great reluctance.
“Mom, what are you calling me for? Can’t you see I’m eating!”
Mrs. Wang’s face turned a shade of humiliated red. She wanted nothing more than to walk over and slap her son twice. Eat, eat, eat—all he knows is how to eat! How did she raise such a useless son?
This was the best chance to suck up to the Tang family. If she could just make the Young Lady happy, how hard could it be? Later, Tang Mo could just whisper a few words to her parents, and their family would have all the business they could want!
Yet her Alpha son only cared about food. It was enough to make her die of anger!
Mrs. Wang gave an awkward laugh. “Children are just greedy for treats. I’ll go pull him over right now!”
But Tang Mo had no desire to play with Zitao. She tugged on Nuo Fanxi’s hand and said unhappily, “Xixi, let’s go eat. I don’t want to play with him; he always steals my toys.”
Nuo Fanxi found Zitao repulsive at first glance as well. She was a child too, but her parents always told her to be mindful of her image when she was out—after all, it wasn’t her own home. Her parents emphasized not being too greedy for food because adults disliked gluttonous children.
But this Zitao clearly treated this place like his own home, showing no awareness of being a guest. The large plate of grapes on the coffee table only had a few left.
“Then we won’t play with him. Let’s go eat together and ignore him!”
Nuo Fanxi looked up and pulled on the tutor’s hand. “Teacher Sister, let’s go eat. Leave them alone.”
The tutor herself disliked this kind of “wealthy wife” who couldn’t control her temper. To snap at a child for telling the truth just because she felt she had backing showed a total lack of grace.
By comparison, Bai Xiaozhu was far more respectable. At least when dealing with children, Bai Xiaozhu had the magnanimity an adult should possess. After all, a child’s lack of manners is a reflection of the parents.
However, this was likely the difference between those with genuine ability and those without. One look at Bai Xiaozhu told you she came from a refined background, with outstanding skills and a strong hand—even if she weren’t a socialite, she’d be a powerhouse career woman.
On the other hand, this Mrs. Wang fit every stereotype of a “nouveau riche” wife: incompetent, arrogant because she felt she had “backing,” and constantly courting disaster without realizing how foolish she looked.
“Alright, let’s go eat and ignore them.”
The tutor took Nuo Fanxi’s hand with her left and Tang Mo’s with her right, and followed the servant to the dining room.
Seeing this, Mrs. Wang grabbed her son—who she suspected was a hungry ghost in a previous life—and followed, shouting loudly and gratingly as she walked.
Nuo Fanxi found the noise unbearable. Finally reaching her limit, she broke free from the tutor’s hand, stood her small frame directly in front of Mrs. Wang and Zitao, and said solemnly: “Auntie, it is lunchtime now. We are going to eat. In kindergarten, all the children are very quiet when we eat. Can you wait until we finish eating before you say whatever you need to say? You’re being really noisy!”
Mrs. Wang already held a grudge against Nuo Fanxi for the previous interaction. Now that the girl was jumping out to ruin her plans again, her teeth itched with rage. But since she was an adult and couldn’t strike a child, she signaled to her son with her eyes.
Zitao shared his mother’s temperament—failing to learn anything good while mastering every bad trait. At a young age, he had already learned how to “act fierce on the strength of others’ authority.” Without saying a single word, he stepped up and shoved Nuo Fanxi with all his might.
Nuo Fanxi was only five years old. Mrs. Wang’s son was over ten. In terms of both height and strength, she was no match for him. Furthermore, no one expected the boy to strike so suddenly. Unable to react in time, Nuo Fanxi was sent flying and slammed onto the floor.
Thud—!
The floor emitted a heavy, dull sound.
Seeing Nuo Fanxi fall, Zitao stood there and laughed out loud, showing zero remorse or realization that he had intentionally harmed someone.
Tang Mo was the first to react. She rushed forward and shoved Mrs. Wang’s son with all her might, but she was too small. Even using her full strength, she only managed to make him stumble back a few steps.
“Xixi, are you okay? Does it hurt? I’ll have the butler call a doctor right now!” Tang Mo was truly furious this time. She looked up and glared at Zitao. “Why did you push Xixi!”
Zitao said proudly, “She deserved it! She dared to talk to my mom like that. It’s a mercy I didn’t beat her!”
Tang Mo’s face flushed bright red with anger. Gritting her teeth, she said, “Xixi was just telling the truth! Your mom is disturbing my meal! I’m going to call my Mommy and Daddy right now and have them throw you both out!”
Mrs. Wang hadn’t expected her son to actually use violence. Hearing Tang Mo’s threat, she panicked and feigned a scolding, lightly swatting her son. “You child! Why would you do that? How did I teach you at home? You must get along with other children!”
She then made a hypocritical move to help Nuo Fanxi up, but the tutor blocked her. The tutor lifted Nuo Fanxi and placed her on a chair, quickly checking her over. She let out a sigh of relief when she saw no visible injuries.
“How are you? Tell Teacher Sister, does anything hurt?”
Nuo Fanxi rubbed her bottom vigorously, her little brow furrowing. “Teacher Sister, my bottom hurts so much. I can’t even sit down.”
The tutor immediately picked her up and carried her to the sofa in the outer room to lie down. Tang Mo instructed the butler, Uncle Chen, to call the Tang family’s private doctor. Even though the fall wasn’t life-threatening, Tang Mo was so worried she was on the verge of tears, so the butler made the call.
Mrs. Wang and her son followed them out. She felt Nuo Fanxi wasn’t hurt that badly at all; she was convinced this little brat was faking it on purpose to get the Tang family to kick her out!
“Little Miss Momo, don’t worry. It’s not that serious. Zitao just told me he didn’t use much strength at all.”
Hearing his mother’s backup, Zitao immediately followed her lead: “That’s right! I barely used any strength to push her. I think she’s just saying that on purpose!”
“So you’re saying Xixi is lying?!”
A child’s view of good and evil is very simple: anyone who bullies my friend is a villain. Hearing Zitao not only push Nuo Fanxi but also play the victim, Tang Mo grew angrier by the second. She stood up and said directly to the butler, “Uncle Chen, I hate them. Throw them both out!”
Mrs. Wang had come uninvited in the first place. The butler remembered she was a distant relative of one of the Masters’ uncles. She had been pestering them for a long time. Tang Guanqing and Bai Xiaozhu had made it clear they didn’t want her around, but her skin was thicker than a city wall. She brought her son over every few days. Since the couple was usually at work, even if they hated it, they hadn’t directly kicked her out to maintain family harmony.
But if they didn’t need to respect Mrs. Wang’s family, they still had to respect their own relatives. Making things too ugly wasn’t good for the family or the conglomerate.
Mrs. Wang panicked at Tang Mo’s order. She had been coming here to build a relationship with the Tangs; if she were kicked out today, it would be nearly impossible to return. How could she suck up to them then? How could she cling to the Tang family tree?
“Eldest Miss, Eldest Miss, wait, wait, wait! Auntie Wang brought Zitao specifically to see you today. We’re all relatives! If you kick us out for an outsider, what will President Tang and President Bai think? They might be unhappy, right?” Mrs. Wang knew Tang Mo listened to her parents most. She used them as a shield, betting that even a willful Tang Mo would hesitate.
As expected, hearing that her parents might be upset made Tang Mo hesitate. Mrs. Wang thought she could breathe a sigh of relief, thinking a child was just a child—so easily bluffed.
However, Tang Mo only hesitated for a minute before looking up with fury. “Mommy and Daddy won’t blame me! You were wrong first, and he pushed Xixi! You’re so mean, Mommy and Daddy will definitely side with me! Uncle Chen, hurry up and kick them away! I don’t want to see them in my house ever again! I’m calling Mommy and Daddy in a bit to tell them they aren’t allowed to come here ever again!”
The butler, who found Mrs. Wang insufferable but couldn’t say so, was secretly delighted by Tang Mo’s words. Without a word, he made a “please leave” gesture toward Mrs. Wang. “Mrs. Wang, I’m sorry, but the Eldest Miss does not welcome you. This way, please.”
Seeing that Tang Mo was dead-set on throwing them out, Mrs. Wang dropped the act. She completely broke down and began to curse at Nuo Fanxi. “You little yellow-haired brat whose teeth haven’t even grown in! You just took a little spill and you’re acting like it’s the end of the world! I see you’re doing this on purpose just to make trouble for me! Such a wicked heart at such a young age—what will you be when you grow up? I bet your parents aren’t any good either!”
Hearing someone insult her parents, Nuo Fanxi ignored her aching bottom and stood up from the sofa. She gave the woman a shove and shouted fiercely, “Don’t you dare insult my Mommy and Daddy, you bad Auntie!”
