A Real Heiress Quits (GL) - Chapter 16
“Are you not convinced?”
Yu Xinyue spoke expressionlessly, flexing her wrists. “Then come on.”
She would hit him until he was convinced.
Shu Ziyu sneered, “Don’t refuse a drink only to be forced to drink a forfe—”
Before he could finish his sentence, his pupils constricted; the baseball bat flew out of his hand and crashed into the corner.
Yu Xinyue had kicked the baseball bat right out of his hand.
She balled her hand into a fist and looked at him coldly.
The sharp pain in Shu Ziyu’s body arrived belatedly; when he looked down, his right wrist was swollen like a steamed bun.
“You…” He finally realized how terrifying the girl was.
Without waiting for him to speak, Yu Xinyue sent a flying kick that knocked him flat onto the ground.
Shu Ziyu never expected that he wouldn’t even last one move against Yu Xinyue; before he could react, fists fell upon him like rain.
Every punch landed on his face.
“I love drinking ‘forfeits’ the most.”
The girl’s voice was clear and crisp, somewhat soft and sweet, forming a sharp contrast with the brutality of her beating.
Shu Ziyu clutched his head and curled up like a shrimp, begging loudly for mercy.
“Don’t, don’t, don’t, I was wrong! I’m sorry!”
“Ah, it hurts, hurts, hurts, hurts!”
“Stop, Big Sister! I really know I’m wrong now!”
“Can you please stop only hitting my face!!!”
He regretted his past actions; he was stricken with grief and remorse.
He was truly an idiot. Why, why did he have to seek trouble like this? Wasn’t being alive good enough?
Suddenly, a crisp sound rang out, and warm liquid flowed from his nose.
Damn, it felt like his nose bridge was broken.
Yu Xinyue frowned.
Spots of blood red splashed onto the back of her snow-white hand.
So disgusting.
She hurriedly wiped away the blood spots and picked up the baseball bat from the floor.
Shu Ziyu was struck with terror, scuttling backward like a bug.
Surely… she wouldn’t want to kill him to silence him, right?
“You wanted to use this to hit me just now?” Yu Xinyue said with a half-smile.
Shu Ziyu shook his head frantically. “N-no, I just wanted to teach you a lesson.”
The girl’s smile felt like a gust of ghostly wind, surging with murderous intent. “Is that so?”
Shu Ziyu’s face turned deathly pale, his former arrogance completely gone. “What do you want to do? We live in a society ruled by law; killing someone is illegal!”
Yu Xinyue raised the wooden bat and swung it toward his face.
“Aaaaaah!”
The sight of the baseball bat swinging closer and closer scared the wits out of Shu Ziyu, making him scream repeatedly.
But the expected pain did not arrive.
He opened his eyes tremblingly; the baseball bat was hovering right in front of his face, and the young girl was smiling radiantly. “Are you scared?”
Shu Ziyu admitted defeat. “I’m scared, I’m scared. I’ll never dare to do it again.”
Yu Xinyue tossed the baseball bat out the window and turned toward the restroom to wash her hands clean.
Stained with the blood of trash, they felt filthy.
When she came out again, she saw Shu Ziyu leaning against the wall, slowly walking downstairs.
The moment he saw her, Shu Ziyu’s calves went weak.
He originally thought she was a little kitten, but he didn’t expect a fierce tiger to be hidden beneath that cute exterior.
She was way too good at fighting.
There wasn’t a single spot on his body that didn’t hurt.
And she only hit his face!
It was too terrifying, waaaah.
W-would there be a next time?
Yu Xinyue used a wet wipe to repeatedly clean her hands, speaking slowly. “The piano is broken; you are responsible.”
Beaten black and blue, Shu Ziyu couldn’t speak and nodded with great difficulty.
Yu Xinyue walked past him, casting a sideways glance.
The boy’s body froze, pressing tightly against the wall, not daring to move an inch.
Sure enough, a good beating made him behave.
“You wouldn’t want to tell your parents about this, would you?” Yu Xinyue said with a half-smile, confident that Shu Ziyu wouldn’t do so.
Teenagers at this age care most about their reputation; they value their “face” more than anything.
Shu Ziyu shook his head frantically.
If others found out he had been beaten into a pig’s head by a little girl, he’d rather die.
Yu Xinyue acted as if she were considering his best interests. “But how did those injuries on your face get there?”
Shu Ziyu fell into silence.
Being beaten like this, his parents would definitely interrogate him. How would he explain it then?
Tell the truth?
He caught the girl’s terrifying gaze and shuddered in his heart, backing up further until he was pressed tight against the wall with nowhere to hide.
If he told the truth, he feared he might be silenced right now.
Yu Xinyue believed her expression was very kind at this moment as she helpfully solved the boy’s problem. “That gang of hoodlums on the street is always bullying students and stealing lunch money from our classmates. Look, don’t you want to be a successor of Socialism?”
Shu Ziyu nodded like a chick pecking at grain.
He’d do it! He’d definitely do it! No one should even think about taking this “successor” role from him!
Yu Xinyue breathed a sigh of relief in her heart.
If Shu Ziyu really confessed the truth to the Shu family, she would be in quite a bit of trouble.
But since Shu Ziyu chose to hide it, then from now on—
Hitting people once is refreshing!
Hitting people always is always refreshing!
Yu Xinyue gave a “my little bro is quite smart” smile and walked away, leaving Shu Ziyu leaning against the stairs, pounding his head in regret.
Why was he so foolish as to provoke such a demon?
The moment she stepped out of the main gate, the girl’s body froze at the entrance, her eyes widening slightly as her phoenix eyes filled with a soft moisture.
A Ferrari was parked under the locust tree.
A woman holding a parasol stood leaning against the car; her lips beneath her sunglasses were red as fire, and her red dress outlined a sultry figure.
She opened her arms toward Yu Xinyue. “Yueyue, come here quick.”
“Aunt…” Yu Xinyue’s voice was somewhat choked.
Ji Zhaohua was in the prime of her life, standing gracefully in the shade of the trees at her most beautiful age.
Just like in many of Yu Xinyue’s dreams, she opened her arms to her, allowing her to run into her aunt’s embrace—after drifting for so long, she had finally found a place to rely on, finding a trace of warmth in the prison called home.
The mother in her memory looked exactly like Ji Zhaohua.
Ji Zhaohua pulled the girl into a hug and nuzzled her fragrant, soft cheek.
The little girl’s cheeks were pink and tender—so fun to squeeze!
“Aunt, why are you here?”
Ji Zhaohua continued to dote on the girl, saying with a smile, “I wanted to pick you up anyway. I called Song Wei and he said you were still here, so I came.”
Song Wei was the driver responsible for picking them up and dropping them off.
Yu Xinyue hugged Ji Zhaohua and wouldn’t let go. “I missed you so much, Aunt.”
There was a hint of crying in her soft, sweet voice.
Ji Zhaohua touched her head with heartache.
The top of the girl’s head was soft and smooth—so fun to pet!
Her hair was rubbed into a mess, and the regret and sadness in Yu Xinyue’s heart gradually vanished into thin air.
“Aunt…” The word “helpless” was written all over the girl’s face.
Ji Zhaohua looked down; her little niece’s cheeks were flushed with a tender pink, her small mouth slightly pouting, and her large eyes were still shimmering with tears. She looked like a doll, so cute her heart was about to melt. She pinched Yu Xinyue’s cheeks, pulling and kneading them like dough, and although the girl’s cheeks were turned red by the manhandling, she still obediently let her do it.
This child was too well-behaved.
Ji Zhaohua, having had her fill of petting, led Yu Xinyue to the car with a grin. “Come, let’s go back.”
A black velvet gift box sat on the passenger seat.
Yu Xinyue asked curiously, “What is this?”
Ji Zhaohua replied, “Something someone sent to you. I brought it from the Yin house.”
“My thing?” Yu Xinyue opened the gift box in surprise. After seeing what was inside, her lips couldn’t help but curl upward. “So it’s her.”
Ji Zhaohua asked, “Who?”
Yu Xinyue hugged the gift box tight and didn’t speak.
Inside the gift box was her school uniform.
It had been washed and ironed, placed neatly.
On top of the school uniform was a ticket—it was for a concert by the currently famous pianist, Tong Song.
Tong Song had been famous for a long time and had gradually begun to retire in recent years; concert tickets were always hard to come by.
Ten years later, he would completely exit the music scene and become a legend.
Not being able to attend and hear the senior’s piano playing in person had always been Yu Xinyue’s regret. She didn’t expect it to be so easily realized after starting over.
This ticket was delivered right to her for free.
Was it because Qin Qing discovered she liked the piano that day, so she specifically got a ticket for her?
Yu Xinyue pressed the ticket to her chest and smiled foolishly.
She wondered if she would run into Qin Qing again when she went to the concert.
Ji Zhaohua glanced at the child a few times, hesitating to speak.
After hesitating for a long time, she couldn’t help but ask, “Yueyue, are you… are you in a secret relationship?”
Yu Xinyue was startled. “What?”
Ji Zhaohua said, “Which boy wrote this love letter? Look at you, you’re smiling like a hopeless romantic.”
The air seemed to be filled with the sour smell of love.
Yu Xinyue crinkled her eyes and waved the ticket. “That’s right! Music is my wife!”
“Oh, it’s this.” Ji Zhaohua breathed a sigh of relief. Her little niece had always been obsessed with the piano, so it wasn’t strange that she was this happy to get Tong Song’s ticket. She had originally wanted to educate the child on the dangers of early dating, but it seemed unnecessary.
“Wait,” Ji Zhaohua thought of something. “Why a wife?”
Yu Xinyue was startled again.
The words she just said were a subconscious slip; she hadn’t thought that much at all.
She reached out like a kitten and scratched the gift box. “Because the Muse is a goddess.”
But for some reason, the face that appeared in her mind was Qin Qing’s.
