A Rich Family’s Matrilocal Alpha Married to a Vegetative Omega - Chapter 1
Today was the wedding of H-City’s most famous “useless Alpha,” Ye Fan.
There was no Omega at the ceremony; the bride, Qin Shujian, was currently lying at home.
Six months ago, the heir to the Qin corporation, Qin Shujian, had become a vegetable following an accident. After a consultation with the nation’s top experts, they all shook their heads, implying that the possibility of her waking up was almost zero.
Driven to despair, the head of the Qin family decided to arrange a marriage for her daughter. With modern technology, they could use an artificial womb to gestate an heir carrying her daughter’s genes—a small consolation for the family line.
Although the Qin family was a top-tier wealthy household in H-City, no Alpha with compatible genes was willing to marry a vegetative Omega, let alone as a “matrilocal Alpha” (Zhui A) who moves into the wife’s home.
Thus, Ye Fan, the notorious “trash Alpha” of H-City, became the unlucky candidate.
In front of the dressing table, Ye Fan sat dazed as people did her makeup.
The white wedding dress outlined her graceful figure, and the exquisite makeup made her skin look as delicate as snow. However, a startling bruise on her forehead marred the beauty of her face, and the makeup artist was working hard to cover the eyesore.
Ye Fan, her mind still in a state of chaos, blinked. Looking at herself in the mirror and sorting through the messy memories in her head, she finally had to accept reality.
She had transmigrated as a “punching bag” Alpha, destined to become the live-in wife of the vegetative Qin Shujian.
The original Ye Fan was constantly mocked as a “useless waste” because of her pheromone deficiency, which left her unable to mark an Omega. She had zero status in the Ye family—unloved by her father and ignored by her mother—which had turned her timid and weak.
The Ye family was facing bankruptcy just as the Qin family was looking for a matrilocal Alpha. Consequently, Ye Fan, whose genes met the requirements, was naturally sold by her parents in exchange for investment. The two families hit it off immediately and set the wedding date; notably, no one ever bothered to ask for Ye Fan’s consent.
Perhaps it was because the original owner had hit her head, but Ye Fan’s inherited memories were a bit fractured.
She couldn’t quite recall how the weak original owner suddenly found the courage to defy her parents and attempt to flee on the wedding day, only to be caught by bodyguards, tumble down the stairs, and die from the impact to her head.
The “big sucker” Ye Fan had transmigrated into this mess. Before she could even figure things out, she was hauled into the dressing room by bodyguards to be dolled up. There were only thirty minutes left until the ceremony.
Stealing a glance at the two hulking bodyguards standing outside the door, Ye Fan instantly abandoned any thoughts of running.
It seemed she had no choice but to be this “matrilocal Alpha.”
Ye Fan gave a bitter smile. How could I be this unlucky?
Once the makeup and clothes were finished, someone urged her to leave. Her “cheap” parents didn’t even show up—perhaps out of a guilty conscience.
Ye Fan was half-forced downstairs by the bodyguards. A row of black luxury cars was already waiting at the entrance. The driver respectfully opened the rear door: “Miss Ye, please.”
“Oh… okay!” With no other choice, Ye Fan climbed in.
She remained silent the entire way, her eyes scanning the scenery flying past the window. She looked calm, but inside, she was panicking.
After about ten minutes, the car stopped in front of a villa. Ye Fan was led inside.
The villa was massive. She was guided through a long corridor to a door. It opened to reveal a woman in her thirties wearing professional attire, who greeted her respectfully: “Hello, Miss Ye. I am the housekeeper, Su Yu. The Old Madam is waiting for you upstairs. Please follow me.”
Ye Fan followed Su Yu to the innermost room on the second floor. Su Yu knocked rhythmically.
“Old Madam, Miss Ye has arrived.”
A female voice, thick with authority, came from inside: “Enter.”
The housekeeper opened the door and stepped aside: “Miss Ye, please go in.” She then closed the door behind her.
Ye Fan walked in awkwardly and saw a noble-looking woman sitting upright in the room. This was Qin Shujian’s mother, Qin Wan. Ye Fan quickly bowed: “Hello, Auntie. I-I am…”
Qin Wan raised a hand to stop her. “Sit down and talk.”
Ye Fan sat on the sofa as instructed.
“I heard you have a pheromone deficiency and cannot mark an Omega?” Qin Wan scrutinized Ye Fan, her eyes full of appraisal.
In this world, being an Alpha with a pheromone deficiency was a blatant admission of being “inadequate.” This future mother-in-law certainly knew how to poke where it hurt.
Ye Fan nodded awkwardly. “Yes.”
“Fine. This is a document.” Qin Wan took a stack of papers from a drawer and handed them to Ye Fan. “Look it over and sign it. Once you do, you are officially part of our Qin family. From now on, we will proceed according to the contract.”
Ye Fan was stunned. “A contract?”
Qin Wan frowned. “What, do you want to back out?”
“No, no!” Ye Fan waved her hands frantically. “Auntie Qin… my parents agreed to this behind my back. A forced marriage isn’t happy. You see…”
“Don’t refuse yet,” Qin Wan interrupted. “It won’t be too late to talk after you’ve read it.”
“Then… alright.”
Dejected, Ye Fan flipped through the contract, cursing inwardly as she read.
The original owner’s parents were truly pieces of work. This wasn’t being a matrilocal Alpha; this was selling oneself into slavery.
The contract stipulated that after marrying Qin Shujian, she had the obligation to supervise and care for her wife. She would have no custody rights over any children born, nor could she participate in the Qin family’s business. In short, she was only there to provide Alpha genes for the Qin family to produce an heir.
Because she lacked Alpha pheromones, she wouldn’t even be able to sneak out and mess around. She was essentially the perfect “Alpha tool.”
Only an idiot would sign this, Ye Fan thought.
She put the contract on the table before finishing it and summoned her courage to try to be reasonable. “Auntie, I really didn’t know about this marriage. My parents agreed without my permission. Please forgive me, but I cannot accept this contract or this marriage.”
“Very well. The Qin family is not unreasonable,” Qin Wan said. “In that case, I will withdraw the investment from the Ye family. Also, please return the 100 million yuan betrothal gift that was already deposited into Miss Ye’s card…”
“One… one hundred million…?” Ye Fan nearly bit her tongue in shock.
The Qin family was too rich.
Before transmigrating, Ye Fan was a hardworking corporate slave who hadn’t seen that much money in her entire life. Just being a matrilocal Alpha… suddenly didn’t seem so hard to accept.
All she would lose was a bit of face, but what she would gain was cold, hard cash!
Instantly struck by the power of money, Ye Fan immediately began slapping her own face. Blushing, she tried to save some dignity: “Auntie, actually, it’s not that I can’t accept it…”
As the current head of the Qin family, Qin Wan had seen plenty of schemes. Seeing Ye Fan’s hesitance, she assumed the girl was trying to hike up the price and frowned in displeasure.
“Ye Fan, don’t think too highly of yourself. If it weren’t for your pheromone deficiency—meaning you won’t harbor any foul intentions toward my Shujian—do you think you’d be qualified to step through the Qin family’s door?”
Ye Fan was bewildered.
Qin Wan suppressed her anger and continued: “I’ll take one more step back. As long as you honestly play your role in the Qin family, I can give you some Qin family shares once the child is older. Shujian, she…” Her eyes reddened, and her voice turned hoarse with a sob. “Shujian doesn’t have much time left. If you want to remarry later, that won’t be out of the question.”
Remarrying wasn’t important. What was important was the money!
A full 100 million!
How long would it even take to count that much?
Ye Fan carefully confirmed: “Is it true that as long as I agree to be the matrilocal Alpha, that 100 million is mine? I can spend it however I want?”
“Yes,” Qin Wan nodded.
Ye Fan’s heart bloomed with joy. She tried her best not to show it, suppressing the corners of her mouth. “Deal. I agree. I’ll sign the contract now.”
Seeing Ye Fan’s sudden compliance, Qin Wan signed the contract with a hint of disgust and handed over a bank card. Holding the card, Ye Fan was so excited she wanted to perform a victory dance on the spot.
She was rich!
Qin Wan watched Ye Fan’s “country bumpkin” behavior and curled her lip in disdain. “Fine. Since today is your wedding day, I’ll let the housekeeper take you to see Shujian.”
Ye Fan nodded with a beaming smile. “Okay, Auntie. I’m going now.”
She followed the housekeeper, Su Yu, to the third floor.
As they climbed the stairs, Su Yu said, “Miss Ye, the Eldest Miss has been in a coma for six months. She was in the hospital until we brought her home two weeks ago. There will be a professional nursing team to look after her, but you also need to learn some basic caregiving skills.”
“Yes, I understand,” Ye Fan agreed.
For that much money, she would take excellent care of her “sugar-mommy” wife.
Su Yu led her to Qin Shujian’s bedroom. As the door opened, the scent of disinfectant wafted out.
On a pristine white bed lay a beautiful woman. She was dressed in a white gauze nightgown, her face still carrying the pallor of illness. With her eyes closed, she looked peaceful and elegant, as if deep in a dream.
To see such a beautiful person suffer such a calamity made Ye Fan feel a bit uncomfortable.
“The rehabilitation team will come every morning at 8:00 AM to check the Eldest Miss’s condition,” Su Yu explained. “You might be busy the next few days, so familiarize yourself with the environment first. Call me if you need anything.”
“Thank you, Housekeeper Su,” Ye Fan said.
After Su Yu left, Ye Fan looked at the person on the bed and sighed. To think such a beautiful woman existed; even just lying there, she was so stunning one couldn’t look away.
Ye Fan sat by the bed and couldn’t help but remark: “You really are quite pitiful.”
“Sigh, seeing you like this, I suddenly feel like that 100 million isn’t so ‘fragrant’ anymore. What’s the point of having all that money? You can’t eat, you can’t drink, you can’t walk or jump. Your soul is locked in a shell. If you’re unconscious, it’s one thing, but if you’re aware, how lonely must that be?”
“Don’t worry. Since I took so much money, I’ll definitely take good care of you. I might not be able to do much else, but I’ll talk to you every day so at least you won’t be so lonely.”
“Let me tell you a joke…”
Ye Fan became a chatterbox, rambling incessantly to her new vegetative wife. When her throat grew parched, she got up to pour some water, but as she looked down, she noticed a moist droplet on the side of her wife’s face.
It looked like a tear.
She hurriedly reached out to wipe the tear track away. “Why are you crying? Can you hear me? Did I say something wrong? I didn’t mean to bully you. Don’t be afraid, I’ll take good care of you, okay?”
As Ye Fan babbled her explanation, her hand accidentally brushed against Qin Shujian’s eyelashes. The vegetative wife’s lashes seemed to flutter.
Terrified, she pulled her hand back instantly.
Did I see that wrong?
Doubt filled Ye Fan’s heart. She looked closely at Qin Shujian.
The woman’s face was pale, and her long lashes drooped slightly like a pair of butterfly wings, trembling faintly with her breath. Her tightly pressed lips had a touch of dryness, making her look fragile, as if she would break at the slightest touch.
It was a truly heart-wrenching sight.
After staring for a long time without seeing any further movement, Ye Fan grew tired. She leaned beside Qin Shujian to rest for a moment and unexpectedly fell fast asleep.
In her daze, she seemed to hear a cold, clear voice.
“This matrilocal Alpha… aside from talking too much, she seems alright.”
