A Scumbag Alpha Gets the Simp’s Script - Chapter 2
In her daze, a voice kept calling her. Yu Jinzhao tried to open her eyes, but her eyelids felt heavy, leaving her feeling as helpless as someone suffering from sleep paralysis.
But that voice was simply too annoying, buzzing in her ear incessantly, making it impossible to ignore.
“Speak! What is it?”
The System finally breathed a sigh of relief. Thank heavens, she was finally awake. Otherwise, the Host truly could have killed it with a single look.
The System composed itself, recalling a script the Host had given it earlier. Though it felt unethical, it had no choice—everything about its existence was designed to serve the Host. So, it spoke.
As Yu Jinzhao listened to the System’s explanation, her brow furrowed into a knot, her eyes filled with shock and disbelief.
“Wait a second… just wait. Let me process this. My head is a mess right now.”
She clearly remembered working overtime until past 1:00 AM, going home, washing up in a hurry, and going to sleep. How could she be hearing this? Was she so stressed that she was dreaming?
After a long while, Yu Jinzhao finally began to accept the reality of transmigration. But why her?!
She didn’t even read novels; how did she end up transmigrating into one?!
Was it just because she shared the same name as the villain?!
This was utterly preposterous!
The System felt a bit guilty and didn’t rush her as she regained her senses.
It truly hadn’t deceived the “Host” (Yu Jinzhao). From every perspective, this Yu Jinzhao could be considered a “Good Person.”
She had a happy family, two open-minded mothers, close friends, a stable career, and a decent character. In every aspect, she was a trustworthy person—which was exactly why the System had chosen her.
It was indeed unfair to her, but that didn’t matter. Once the mission was complete, it would send her back and provide plenty of compensation.
“What will happen to my family, friends, and work?”
The System hadn’t expected Yu Jinzhao’s first question after waking to be about this. It felt even more relieved.
Good, good, good. It knew it hadn’t chosen wrong. Yu Jinzhao was a good person.
“You don’t need to worry about that. Although you are here, everything in your original world remains unchanged. A program will cover for your presence; no one around you will notice anything. Furthermore, you will receive corresponding compensation once you return.”
“Compensation?”
Yu Jinzhao couldn’t help but let out a mocking huff. They had dragged her here for no reason and then talked about compensation after the fact. What was that supposed to mean? As if she were desperate for their “compensation.”
The System assumed Yu Jinzhao was interested in the reward and felt that she was much easier to handle than its actual “Host” (Pei Daowan).
“Yes, yes. Our compensation is extremely generous, enough for you to—”
Before the System could finish, Yu Jinzhao interrupted impatiently: “Fine. What do I need to do?”
Since I’m here, I might as well make the best of it.
This was entirely an unprovoked disaster. She didn’t care about compensation; she had a family, friends, and a career back in her world. Her career was currently at a critical juncture, and she didn’t want to waste a single second.
However, based on what the System said, if she didn’t complete her assigned tasks, she wouldn’t be able to go back. She was forced to accept this reality.
The System was overjoyed. Finally, there was a character who could move the plot forward. It really wasn’t easy!
“Uh… currently, because you drugged Pei Daowan—the Female Lead of this world—and she found out, I forced you into a faint. You need to wake up quickly and get her to a hospital.”
Yu Jinzhao didn’t think too much about it. Although her consciousness had been blurred earlier, her ears had been filled with that original voice. The insults had been foul, making Yu Jinzhao reject them from the bottom of her heart.
As her consciousness finally returned, Yu Jinzhao slowly crawled up from the floor. Once her eyes focused, she saw a woman kneeling by the sofa.
Long, dark brown wavy hair spilled across her back. Her silk pajamas were a bit rumpled, appearing as though they had been manhandled.
Yu Jinzhao couldn’t see the woman’s face, only her back. She looked too thin; even through the clothes, Yu Jinzhao could see the protrusion of her shoulder blades.
“Um… sorry. I didn’t mean to…”
Yu Jinzhao stood up shakily. Instinctively, she wanted to take off her only jacket and cover the woman, who looked incredibly fragile.
Especially after hearing everything the “Original Soul” had done from the System, she felt a sense of indignation. It seemed this woman, like herself, was a victim of these unprovoked disasters.
Perhaps out of a sense of shared suffering, Yu Jinzhao felt less resistance toward the “mission.”
It was lucky the System didn’t know what Yu Jinzhao was thinking, or it would have screamed. Had it exaggerated the story too much, making Yu Jinzhao view the “Host” (Pei Daowan) as a helpless “white lotus”?
Yu Jinzhao suddenly remembered the FL’s name was Pei Daowan and spoke awkwardly.
“I’m really sorry. I promise that won’t happen again. Shall we go to the hospital now?”
Yu Jinzhao hadn’t forgotten that it was the original owner who drugged her, leaving Pei Daowan unable to resist and in this state. Since Pei Daowan didn’t know the body had a new occupant, Yu Jinzhao knew she had to soothe her.
“Pei Daowan! Pei Daowan!”
Yu Jinzhao called out cautiously, her voice soft and gentle.
To Pei Daowan’s ears, it sounded different. It was strange—the vocal cords were identical to that scum’s, but with a different person behind them, the feeling was actually… different.
Seeing that Pei Daowan didn’t move or respond, Yu Jinzhao grew anxious. The System said it was a banned drug—what if something happened?
Yu Jinzhao took a bold step forward, picked up a blanket from the sofa, and gently draped it over her.
“Sorry, I have to get you to a hospital first.”
Watching Yu Jinzhao’s actions, the System nearly lost its mind. What was she doing?! The Host already hated her enough, and now she was getting close? Did she have a death wish?
“Yu Jinzhao! Yu Jinzhao! What are you doing?! Just get her to the hospital!” the System’s voice blared in her head.
Hiss!
Her head throbbed even more, especially the nape of her neck, which felt like it was about to explode. She had been using all her willpower to stay upright.
“I know! I know! But she’s dressed like this, and it’s cold outside.”
The System paused. True. Even though it was spring, the nights were still quite chilly.
After covering her with the blanket, Yu Jinzhao didn’t make any further inappropriate moves. Instead, she pulled out her phone and dialed the emergency number. Luckily, the emergency number in this world was the same as her old one.
While Yu Jinzhao was on the phone, Pei Daowan finally turned slowly to look at her.
Yu Jinzhao instinctively tried to offer a polite smile to salvage some of her bad impression.
But the moment she saw Pei Daowan, her breath hitched.
The woman’s hair was still messy, and a thin layer of sweat coated her small face. Her eyes were exquisite and upturned at the corners; even though she was looking down slightly, Yu Jinzhao could imagine how enchanting those eyes would be when she smiled.
Internally, she cursed the original soul even harder. What kind of scumbag would treat her like this?
A wave of dizziness hit, and Yu Jinzhao’s body swayed.
This movement seemed to startle the woman. Her downcast eyes trembled slightly, and even her lips seemed to quiver.
“Sorry, I didn’t…”
Yu Jinzhao wanted to say more, but she couldn’t fight the spinning world anymore. she pitched forward, crashing onto the floor and losing consciousness completely.
Seeing Yu Jinzhao faint again, Pei Daowan disgustedly ripped the blanket off and stood up, looking down at her.
Her demeanor and aura were a complete departure from the “pitiful” image of a moment ago. No one would have associated her with the person from just now.
“Host…”
The System finally spoke up timidly, braving the pressure.
“I know. I won’t let her actually die,” Pei Daowan interrupted impatiently.
The girl had held on longer than she expected. As expected of an Alpha’s body; the Creator is truly unfair.
Poor Yu Jinzhao still had no idea that the drug had actually been used on her instead. Otherwise, why would her head be splitting like that while Pei Daowan was perfectly fine?
Before long, the sirens of an ambulance approached. As expected of the Yu family. With a medical team on standby 24/7, they arrived incredibly fast.
Pei Daowan glanced at Yu Jinzhao, who was still unconscious on the floor. You should thank yourself for making that call, otherwise, I certainly wouldn’t have.
Pei Daowan casually tossed the blanket she had ripped off onto Yu Jinzhao and turned to go back to her room. The rest wasn’t her problem. She wanted to see exactly what this “Yu Jinzhao” would be like when she woke up.
The System didn’t dare breathe. Ensuring that the paramedics would be up shortly and that Yu Jinzhao wouldn’t die, it hurried after Pei Daowan.
Yu Jinzhao felt as though she had fallen into an endless abyss. At first, she was relatively calm, having experienced many things, but as time passed, there were no signs of improvement.
She began to grow anxious. Her body felt heavy, and the nape of her neck felt numb and aching. she wanted to struggle, but even her fingers felt weighted down.
No, I still have so much to do. The scent of heavy disinfectant filled her nose, and the faint sweetness she had hallucinated earlier was gone.
After struggling for an unknown amount of time, Yu Jinzhao’s consciousness slowly returned. When she opened her eyes, she didn’t see the expected harsh white fluorescent lights, but a warm yellow glow. Still, it took a long time for her pupils to focus.
“Master, the Young Miss is awake.”
The first person Yu Jinzhao saw clearly was a middle-aged man in a sophisticated suit. His deep gray suit was perfectly tailored, and his aura was that of a successful entrepreneur.
However…
The title “Master” (Old Master/Lord) made Yu Jinzhao’s brow twitch. What era was this, that people were still using such terms?
Seeing Yu Jinzhao awake, Yu Xincheng’s expression didn’t flicker. He simply raised a gloved finger to signal the person behind him to be quiet.
Yu Jinzhao couldn’t figure out the current situation. She clearly remembered calling the ambulance for the Female Lead; why was she the one lying in the hospital?
How was Pei Daowan?!
“How many times have I told you? You shouldn’t spoil Omegas. They only need to fulfill their duties. As for you, a dignified Alpha, look at what you’ve turned into. How embarrassing.”
Hearing this, Yu Jinzhao’s frown deepened. How was this any different from the people in her world who said women should just listen to men?
Yu Jinzhao struggled to sit up, wanting to argue with this man. Lying down made her feel like she was losing the argument before it started.
Seeing her try to move, the butler quickly stepped in to smooth things over: “Miss, don’t be stubborn. The Master is doing this for your own good. That Omega is lucky to have married you, and even luckier to marry into the Yu family. You don’t need to be so polite to her.”
Yu Jinzhao froze. So this was Yu Xincheng. She had heard from the System that this was the original soul’s “good father”—an arrogant, disrespectful, “Alpha-preachy” dad. The original owner’s ability to commit so many atrocities was inseparable from the man standing before her.
Yu Jinzhao pushed away the butler’s help and sat up straight. Her voice was weak but firm: “She isn’t just ‘some Omega.’ She has a name. It’s Pei Daowan.”
Yu Xincheng, who hadn’t shown a shred of emotion until now, felt his face twitch slightly before returning to a calm state.
He hadn’t expected that his “good daughter” would one day talk back to him for the sake of an Omega. Did she think that getting married gave her confidence? Did she think that with the support of the Pei family, she could challenge him?
The door was slightly ajar. So, even though Pei Daowan hadn’t entered yet, the sentence reached her ears with perfect clarity.
Just as Yu Jinzhao was about to say something more, she was interrupted by a knock. Everyone looked toward the sound.
Pei Daowan was standing outside the door.
