A Scummy Alpha Supporting Character Accidentally Marks the Heroine After Transmigrating into a Book (GL) - Chapter 6
Water vapor misted the shower glass, only faintly revealing the slender figure of the person inside.
A high-grade Omega possesses senses far beyond those of an ordinary person. For Bai Wan, the damp steam floating around her nose almost overpowered the lingering scent on her fingertips.
In fact, it wasn’t just her fingertips; the scent was on her shoulders and forearms as well. Even the long gown in the laundry basket had been dyed with the same fragrance.
Bai Wan stared at it for dozens of seconds, whispering the word “disgusting” under her breath. Loathing rose on her face as she scrubbed her hands with soap, refusing to stop until the scent was completely erased.
Downstairs.
Yan Nanjue finished her late-night snack in a good mood, planning to head upstairs to talk to Bai Wan. To prevent these malicious “dog-blood” melodramatic incidents from happening again, she needed to use some corporate-speak to tell the heroine that from now on, no one would be allowed to bully her in Yan Nanjue’s name!
Reaching Bai Wan’s room, Yan Nanjue knocked. No response.
Is she asleep?
She knocked again. Still nothing. She tried the handle, and the door opened easily. At the same moment, the sound of another door opening clicked; Bai Wan, wrapped in a bathrobe, stepped out of the bathroom.
Yan Nanjue was caught completely off guard.
Bai Wan was wearing only a snow-white bathrobe, one hand loosely clutching a corner of the garment while the other dried her hair. Most of her body was turned away from the door, revealing the long, swan-like curve of her nape.
Water droplets dripped from the ends of her hair, rolling over a pale, rounded shoulder, along the valley of her spine, and finally disappearing into the robe. Her skin was snow-white and delicate, like piled snow, turned a rosy cloud-like hue by the steam. Her slender arms, straight legs, exquisite collarbones, and… the covered parts, were all flushed a light crimson.
Yan Nanjue’s breath hitched.
Bai Wan sensed something. She turned her head, and the moment she saw Yan Nanjue, her face flooded with disgust and fury. Startled and enraged, she hissed, “Who gave you permission to come in?! Get out!”
Yan Nanjue’s short-circuited brain didn’t think twice before slamming the door shut.
With a loud bang, the door panel hid everything in the room. Yan Nanjue squeezed her eyes shut as if her gaze had been burned.
Holy crap?! Why was she in the shower!!! Yan Nanjue screamed in her mind.
The System screamed even louder: 【Your persona is collapsing!!! Quick, push the door back open!】
Once again, Yan Nanjue’s hands moved faster than her brain. She shoved the door open. The interval between closing and opening was so short that Bai Wan was still standing in the same spot, her gaze burning with icy fury—the anger of a private sanctuary being violated.
Yan Nanjue’s scalp tingled. She instinctively wanted to look away from the body before her.
【Stick to the persona! Say what Yan Nanjue would say!】
Yan Nanjue pinched her palm, her heart thumping wildly. She stepped toward Bai Wan, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her close. During the scuffle, Bai Wan’s grip loosened slightly, and the robe slipped open a fair amount.
“Watch your tone, Bai Wan. I own this house; there isn’t a single place I can’t go.”
Yan Nanjue’s gaze dropped slightly, landing on a stunning expanse of creamy white skin. It took several seconds before she could manage her next lines.
“I also own you, Bai Wan. You dare speak to me like that? What right do you have?”
The skin in her palm was hot from the bathwater, but the droplets on top were cool. The fragrance from Bai Wan’s hair surged out, surrounding and entangling her. With every breath, Yan Nanjue inhaled the faint scent of orange blossoms.
Yan Nanjue’s ears turned red uncontrollably. She had no idea what to do next. A drop of water fell from Bai Wan’s deep brow bone and landed tremulously on the back of Yan Nanjue’s hand.
Yan Nanjue had never felt so tortured.
Help me, System, help me! She liked women, sure, but this was the heroine who would eventually skin her alive! She didn’t dare have a single improper thought!
Bai Wan’s neck turned red too—purely out of rage. She gritted her teeth, the hatred in her eyes reaching a sudden peak.
“What do you want this time?!” Every word was laced with deep-seated resentment. “Get away! Don’t touch me!”
Bai Wan tried to shake off the hand pinning her, but the natural strength difference between an Alpha and an Omega made it impossible. She could only stare at Yan Nanjue with loathing.
As Bai Wan’s emotions uncharacteristically flared, Yan Nanjue noticed her other hand—the one hanging at her side—was trembling slightly. A strange surge of emotion hit Yan Nanjue’s heart, and she asked coldly, “Do you think you’re some kind of prize?”
“A person like you isn’t worth a forced marking. I only came here to make sure you understand your status. I don’t want a repeat of what happened today. You are my wife, the President’s spouse of the Yan Corporation, the Mistress of the Yan family.”
“No one is allowed to touch you except me.”
“Even if you are something I don’t want, you can only stay in the Yan house. Today’s mess reaching Grandma has already made me very unhappy. Bai Wan, you still haven’t learned to be obedient.”
“You don’t need to go to the nursing home this month,” Yan Nanjue said coldly.
The nursing home housed Bai Wan’s younger siblings who suffered from hereditary heart disease.
With that, she let go of Bai Wan’s hand. Ignoring the heroine’s catastrophic change in expression, she turned and left as if she had touched something filthy.
Once out the door, Yan Nanjue bolted back to her own room and collapsed onto her bed. As soon as she closed her eyes, she saw Bai Wan’s flushed, damp face—a vision like a dream filled with floral scents and rain.
“Why didn’t she lock the door when she showered!!” Yan Nanjue yelled in her head.
【OOC Value: 3%. Heroine Bai Wan’s current Blackening Value: 67/100.】
【System: The Blackening Value has increased again.】
Yan Nanjue felt like she was going to die. If she had known the heroine was bathing, she wouldn’t have had the courage to barge in for all the gold in the world!
A few days later.
The original body had never marked Bai Wan in two years. In the early months of the marriage, things weren’t this toxic—until the original proposed a marking. Bai Wan refused.
The original Yan Nanjue had sneered: “You seem to have forgotten. I didn’t marry you; I bought you. Do I need an item’s permission to put my mark on it?”
Bai Wan had slapped her during the struggle, which completely enraged the Alpha. She used her natural advantage to suppress Bai Wan, intending to force her into heat and complete the mark. It only failed because of an international video call. The original body didn’t even look back at her “low-quality merchandise” as she left.
Since then, the original body stopped pretending and began to relentlessly humiliate and belittle Bai Wan.
Yan Nanjue buried herself in her pillow.
Over the next few days, Bai Wan went to the office early and stayed late, clearly determined to avoid any contact. Yan Nanjue hadn’t spoken a word to her.
One morning, standing behind the curtains, Yan Nanjue watched Bai Wan get into the car. It was only 5:40 AM. The heroine was desperate to leave.
Is this a cold war? No, she never talks to me anyway.
【System: Why are you thinking about this? You don’t seem worried at all lately.】
Yan Nanjue smiled. “Haste makes waste. The key is the heroine. Besides, today is a major plot point!” She would stay in character for the small things, but she would exert her full strength to change the heroine’s fate during the major events!
Near the end of the workday, Assistant Lin knocked on the President’s door.
“President Yan, someone has filed a formal report claiming that the design draft the Madam submitted to President Ming of MY Company is plagiarized. They provided evidence. I overheard Director Zheng discussing it in the Design Department. The whistleblower is her colleague, a designer named Li Yuan.”
The sluggish Yan Nanjue instantly perked up. It’s here! One of the major plot points from the original book!
In the original story, when Bai Wan was accused of plagiarism, no one believed her except the client, Ming Yue. The original Yan Nanjue had directly “sentenced” Bai Wan to death. The original knew she was being framed, but she needed a justification to lock Bai Wan back in the villa permanently.
Because of that, the heroine had felt her first true murderous intent.
I cannot let this follow the original plot!
Yan Nanjue suppressed her excitement and followed Assistant Lin to the 31st floor. Employees were eavesdropping outside the conference room as muffled arguing drifted out. Lin Furuo cleared her throat to scatter the crowd before knocking.
“Who’s so blind—President Yan? Why… why are you here?” The Design Manager opened the door.
Lin Furuo: “President Yan has a personal relationship with President Ming. Hearing there was an issue with the design draft, she decided to come personally.”
The arguing stopped the moment Yan Nanjue stepped inside. She looked across the room at the Omega at the end of the long table.
Bai Wan’s naturally pale face was even more ashen. Her eyes were half-closed, lashes shading her pupils, and there were light shadows under her eyes from lack of sleep. Her expression was one of suppressed anger and mockery.
Sensing a gaze, Bai Wan looked up. Her amber eyes met Yan Nanjue’s at the door.
After a week and a half, the “wives” were face-to-face. One standing, one sitting, meeting eyes across the long table and the crowd.
A second later, Yan Nanjue looked away and took the head seat. “Director Zheng, you speak.”
Under the table, Bai Wan’s hand suddenly clenched. What does this lunatic want now? Does she want to interfere with my work, or announce our relationship to everyone?
Isn’t depriving me of visitation rights enough? Does Yan Nanjue want to ruin me once more by exposing who I am?!
