A Snake Transmigrated as a Scum A - Chapter 50.1
At night, it was drizzling outside the window.
Li Yingxue maintained that posture for a long time without moving. Although her eyes were closed, her consciousness remained clear.
She didn’t know how long has passed, but Li Yingxue hasn’t moved at all. Her eyelids feel warm, covered with a thin layer of mist.
Many suffocating memories keep flashing through her mind.
The surging swarm of snakes, the wailing echoing in the basement…
The pain of being whipped to the point of skinning, the unbearable insults…
The uncontrollable, frequent mating heat, the disgusting Alpha pheromones that can only make one bow down and submit forever…
Li Yingxue held her breath; in that moment, her mind felt hot, but it all faded away in a few seconds.
She opens her eyes, and they are clear and indifferent.
It seemed like just a nightmare. Li Yingxue closed her eyes again, intending to slip back into this gentle sleep.
Until dawn, she remained incredibly awake.
Around seven or eight in the morning.
It was still raining, but Fu Man got up early, took care of her personal hygiene, and not long after, Grandma also got up.
“Grandma, let me take you to wash up,” Fu Man’s voice was deliberately lowered.
Seeing this, Grandma also said softly, “Okay.”
Little did she know, from the moment Fu Man got up, Li Yingxue already knew, but she still kept her eyes closed, not wanting to get up.
Fu Man pushed Grandma out and covered her legs with a blanket, “I’ll go buy some breakfast and be back.”
Grandma: “Slow down.”
When Fu Man came back with breakfast, Li Yingxue was already awake, leaning by the window and watching the increasingly heavy rain outside.
“Come eat breakfast.”
Fu Man placed the breakfast on the table, “Grandma, your porridge.”
Grandma took it and looked at her granddaughter wearing sunglasses, “Yingxue, why are you wearing sunglasses even indoors?”
Li Yingxue replied to her without much emotion, “I drank too much water last night, a bit of swelling.”
After finishing speaking, her gaze swept over the woman across from her who was preparing the dishes.
Fu Man pursed her lips, as if she hadn’t heard anything, and lowered her gaze to focus on her own tasks.
Li Yingxue was absent-mindedly eating breakfast.
After having breakfast, it was still raining outside, and occasionally there were thunderclaps.
A thick layer of dark clouds enveloped the Leeds Village, completely immersed in the rain curtain.
“We really came at the wrong time, and we ended up with such heavy rain,” Grandma sighed, “We couldn’t have picked a worse time.”
Fu Man crossed her arms and watched through the glass window as Li Yingxue, who had just finished breakfast, lay down on the bed to sleep. She observed her turning over silently.
Last night’s words are still fresh in her mind.
“Actually, it’s quite nice here. The place may not be big, but it’s cozy.”
Grandma: “Indeed.”
By the afternoon, the rain finally stopped, and the three of them headed back home.
Along the way, Fu Man and Li Yingxue hardly exchanged any words, only occasionally speaking a few sentences to their grandma.
The car stopped in front of the villa, and after getting out, the two parted ways, each going about their own business.
Only Grandma is leisurely sipping tea in the living room.
Fu Man went to the underground palace to cultivate, and Li Yingxue received a call from her agent, saying that she was asked to attend a social engagement tomorrow night.
“Okay, I got it.” Li Yingxue hung up the phone, picked up the camera, turned around, and walked out.
She drove to a photo studio and pushed the door open.
The boss took the camera: “Are you planning to develop these photos? Make an album?”
Li Yingxue, wearing sunglasses, let out a sound from her throat.
About half an hour later, the boss put all the photos into an envelope and said, “Here you go.”
Li Yingxue took it, returned to the car, and was about to start the engine when she suddenly remembered something. She took her hands off the steering wheel and picked up the stack of photos.
Quickly flipping through, she pulled out the blurry photo with just an outline and tucked it away somewhere else.
Hot spring underground palace.
Li Yingxue brought the photo album to the hot spring. She watched as the large silver snake in front of her transformed into a human-faced snake body, then approached her.
Li Yingxue handed her the item: “The photo album.”
Fu Man glanced at her inscrutably, flipped through the photos, then picked out the ones of herself and her grandma, returning the rest to her.
“I’ll take these, that’s enough for me.”
Li Yingxue looked down at the photo that was handed back to her; it was all pictures of her, Li Yingxue.
“I just forgot to take it out, sorry.”
Li Yingxue coldly and ruthlessly took it, turned around, and left.
Fu Man stared at her back until she disappeared from sight. After a long silence, her slender, jade-like hand reached for the middle page and opened it to the top.
Above is a solo photo of Li Yingxue wearing sunglasses, with her red lips looking cold and glamorous.
At night, the two still slept in the same bed, but they treated each other with utmost respect.
The next day, Li Yingxue woke up to find that her ankle was no longer wrapped by any snake tail.
She stared blankly for a long time, then turned to look at the person beside her, only to find that her snake tail was still sticking out, but this time it was outside the blanket.
Fu Man was still asleep. Li Yingxue bit her lip and caught a glimpse of the snake ring on her hand out of the corner of her eye. Ever since she got this thing, her heat had no longer tormented her, and she could no longer smell the Alpha’s pheromones.
Humans cannot smell the pheromones of snakes. Li Yingxue, almost as if possessed, drew a talisman in an attempt to capture the pheromones in the air.
However, the result she got was still a blank, as expected.
The snake’s pheromones are always present; there’s only one possibility for this situation…
She excluded herself.
Li Yingxue self-deprecatingly tugged at the corner of her mouth.
In the evening, Li Yingxue, dressed in a rose gold long dress, holding a clutch and wearing the latest high heels, went out for social engagement.
What is called social engagement is nothing more than attending some banquets.
Tonight’s banquet is a director’s 50th birthday party, and almost everyone here is from the industry.
Li Yingxue stood in the crowd holding a glass of red wine, watching the people entering hand in hand at the door. Some were couples, some were good friends, and some were elders bringing their juniors.
Compared to her, coming alone felt a bit lonely.
She indeed has no friends… and she doesn’t need friends.
Li Yingxue downed a glass of red wine in one go, then had another poured for herself. She walked over to the famous director, raised her glass in a toast, exchanged pleasantries, and then spent the rest of the time drinking alone in the corner.
The conversation near her ear is a bit noisy.
“Have you heard? A few level 1 criminals escaped from M Prison yesterday.”
“I’ve heard about it too. They say it’s due to inadequate supervision, but this is just too distressing.”
“The criminal has still not been found, and you say he won’t be among us?”
“Really? Aren’t criminals supposed to hide and run like rats?”
Li Yingxue couldn’t hear the discussions clearly. By the time the banquet was almost over, she finally picked up her bag and got ready to leave. Feeling the effects of the alcohol, she walked with her eyes half-closed for a while before realizing she couldn’t drive.
Calmly opening her handbag, she took out her phone, found her agent’s contact information, and prepared to call.
But while flipping through the contacts, she accidentally dialed another number.
When Li Yingxue was lost in thought, she had unknowingly pressed the button. By the time she came to her senses and hurriedly tried to hang up—
“Hello?” Fu Man’s voice came from the other end. Whether it was because she was drunk or the night was too enchanting, she actually found the other person’s voice calm, magnetic, and full of the charm of a mature woman.
But that woman is someone who would even cheat at games.
“What’s wrong?” Seeing her call, Fu Man interrupted her training progress, looked at the night outside, and realized it was already quite late.
Li Yingxue remained silent for a long time, rubbing her temples with her fingertips to ease the chaos brought by the alcohol.
“I… might be drunk.”
After the words were spoken, a long silence fell on both ends of the phone.
“……Could you come pick me up?”
