A Snake Transmigrated as a Scum A - Chapter 50.2
“Okay.”
On the other side, a “okay” was dropped, leaving Li Yingxue momentarily dazed, followed by a long wait.
Li Yingxue found a soft sofa to sit on, looked at the red wine in her glass, swirled it a bit, it was slightly red, reflecting the brilliant crystal chandelier above her head.
After a while, she thought it would take a long time for her to come over, but to her surprise, only ten minutes had passed when a familiar figure appeared in her line of sight.
“You’ve come.” Li Yingxue’s voice sounded as if she had no trace of drunkenness.
Fu Man glanced at her a few times, seemingly trying to figure out if she was really drunk, until she caught a whiff of the alcohol on her, and then stopped the speculation.
“Mm.”
Li Yingxue stood up and handed her the key, “Here you go.”
Fu Man reached out to take it. As she did, their fingers briefly touched, but it was just a fleeting contact, like a dragonfly skimming the surface of the water before pulling away.
“The car is outside, I’ll take you to find it.”
There are a lot of cars for the banquet, and they are usually parked outside. If you don’t look closely, you might not recognize them.
Li Yingxue simply took her there, and the two of them went out one after the other.
When they reached the car, Li Yingxue opened the passenger door by herself, got in, and looked out the window with a drunken expression.
Fu Man looked at the key in her hand, then at Li Yingxue in the passenger seat. It seemed like she had just called her over to take her back.
After pondering without success, Fu Man walked around the front of the car, sat in the driver’s seat, and prepared to drive. She glanced over one more time and noticed that Li Yingxue hadn’t fastened her seatbelt yet.
“Fasten your seatbelt,” she said in a cold voice as well.
Li Yingxue remained silent for a long time, not moving, and even more so, not listening to her and fastening the seatbelt.
Fu Man waited for her to make a move but saw nothing. Unable to help herself, she turned her head to look at her. Seeing her lost in thought, she followed her gaze and looked ahead.
Nothing at all.
Fu Man withdrew her gaze, waited for a while, but when she still didn’t get a response, she pursed her lips, leaned over, touched her shoulder, and fastened the seatbelt for her.
“Are you drunk?”
Li Yingxue’s gaze slowly fell on Fu Man’s face, and after staring for a while, when her red lips parted, she didn’t answer the question but instead asked, “Is it important whether I wear a seatbelt or not?”
“Don’t you have magic?”
Fu Man inexplicably found these two sentences a bit harsh, “I’ve already lost all my driving points.”
If she gets caught violating the rules again, she’ll be driving without a license, and they’ll just impound the car.
Li Yingxue let out a soft “huh,” closed her eyes, and stopped looking at her.
Fu Man slowly started the car and drove onto the road.
However, about 20 minutes later, the police car impounded Li Yingxue’s white Bentley and took it back.
Fu Man and Li Yingxue stood by the roadside, silently watching the car’s rear as it drove away.
Fu Man opened her mouth, looking at Li Yingxue’s profile, “Sorry.”
“Why aren’t you cheating this time?” Li Yingxue suddenly lifted her eyelids and stared straight into her eyes, as if asking why she could cheat in games but not in driving.
Maybe such a thing won’t happen tonight.
“If I said… I want you to see a more real version of me, would you believe it?”
“……”
Li Yingxue was at a loss for words, perhaps due to the effects of the alcohol. She closed her eyes and took a long pause.
The two of them can only walk back.
On the street, Li Yingxue’s high heels clacked leisurely against the pavement. On the wide, non-slip pebble sidewalk, she suddenly accidentally stepped on a raised tactile paving tile, stumbling slightly.
Fu Man instinctively supported her. Perhaps the alcohol had dulled her sense of direction, and with this stumble, Li Yingxue fell right into her arms, her porcelain-white shoulder held by Fu Man.
“You——”
Fu Man had just opened her mouth when she suddenly closed it the next second, because she heard an almost inaudible “sister,” like a meteor streaking across her heart.
Although it was very subtle, she still caught it, but because it was too fleeting, she hesitated instead.
“What did you just call me?” Fu Man hesitated for a long time but finally asked.
Li Yingxue, however, stood up straight, her right hand across her abdomen, propping up her left elbow, her middle and ring fingers together, gently massaging her temple.
Hearing this, she looked over with indifferent eyes, “What did I say?”
In other words, it means she doesn’t even know what she just said, or she simply won’t admit it.
Fu Man: “You just called me sister.”
Li Yingxue averted her gaze from her and lowered her eyes to the snake ring on her hand, saying coldly, “You heard wrong.”
“Really?” Fu Man was skeptical and prepared to sift through her memories.
Li Yingxue: “How did you get here?”
Fu Man was interrupted by her and could only reply, “I flew over.”
“Fly?”
“Yes.”
“How do you fly?”
“Just flying in the sky.”
Fu Man noticed that she seemed a bit incredulous, her brows furrowing, “Are you questioning me?”
Li Yingxue: “I’m just a bit curious about how a snake can fly in the sky.”
A few minutes later, Li Yingxue knew how she was flying.
At this moment, she is sitting on the woman’s snake tail, quietly being “carried” through the night sky.
The rose gold skirt swayed in the night breeze, making a rustling sound, with a pair of slender legs crossed and high heels leaning alternately.
Li Yingxue gently held Fu Man’s upright snake body with one hand, looking at the woman’s back. Although it had a human head and a snake body, she didn’t find it scary at this moment.
The countless lights below reflected in her eyes, and Li Yingxue stared at them, lost in thought.
Like a dream.
Fu Man turned to look at her and found her hugging herself. “Aren’t you afraid?”
“No.” Li Yingxue shook her head; high altitudes were not terrifying to her.
Most people are afraid of falling, but she feels an urge to embrace the earth.
Dying in such a bustling and brilliant city, turning into raindrops that seep into every inch of the land, is such a romantic thing.
Li Yingxue rested her forehead against Fu Man’s snake body, her skin pressed against the silver scales, closing her eyes to suppress those murky, stinging memories.
Fu Man felt the warmth of her forehead, warm and mixed with the scent of alcohol in the air.
Faintly, she heard a gentle, heart-stirring “sister” again.
Fu Man increasingly doubted whether Li Yingxue had actually said it or if she was just hearing things.
“Li——”
As soon as she uttered a word, Fu Man felt a lightness in her body. She quickly turned around to see Li Yingxue falling backward, her arms spread wide, like a rose plummeting through the night sky, her expression indifferent yet revealing a hint of self-loathing.
“Li Yingxue!”
Fu Man’s heart skipped a beat, completely caught off guard by Li Yingxue’s sudden move, and she quickly dove towards her.
The wind howled past the two of them.
Li Yingxue began to feel the brain pain caused by the accelerated fall, her vision blurred, and her mouth was filled with the taste of alcohol.
Very uncomfortable.
When Fu Man smashed into the spire of a skyscraper, her snake tail wrapped around her at the critical moment.
She stopped falling, Li Yingxue’s long hair was disheveled as she held it in front of her, her feet dangling in mid-air.
“Li Yingxue, how are you?” Fu Man’s tone revealed her concern; she hadn’t considered it would be so dangerous.
Thinking about it, she had no protection, and she was just an ordinary person.
Li Yingxue shook her head: “…… I’m feeling a bit unwell.”
Fu Man leaned close to her, placing her palm on Li Yingxue’s forehead: “Where does it hurt?”
Li Yingxue lowered her gaze and quietly looked at the severed wrist in front of her. Her hands rested on the snake tail at her waist, and the woman’s body temperature transmitted through the scales to her fingertips.
“Everywhere is uncomfortable.”
Fu Man hugged her and landed on the villa’s balcony, supporting her back to her room while comforting her, saying, “It might be the pain of suffocation from the recent fall from a height. You should rest in bed for a while.”
“Is resting for a bit enough?” Li Yingxue was helped to sit on the edge of the bed, but the feeling of weightlessness still affected her brain, causing it to feel congested and painful.
Fu Man stood in front of her, placing her hands on either side of her temples and gently pressing.
“I’ll help you relieve it a bit.”
