At the film set, the bodyguard Xiaoling pulled Song Tingxue aside to talk.

“Sister Song, I found out a few things about what you asked me to look into. A few days ago, a person washed up on the beach at the cove. It’s hard to say where that person fell into the water. It was a female Alpha, and someone reported it to the police. But later, that person disappeared. Most likely, she woke up and left on her own. Someone saw her wandering along the road in the cove area, which isn’t too far from where we found Miss Yan’s vacation villa. I think this person must have been Miss Yan. Song Tingxue asked, “Can you check for any surveillance footage nearby?”

“There’s no surveillance on the beach itself, and only maybe one camera on the road might have captured something, but that’s a big maybe,” Xiaoling said, pausing in thought. “I suspect Miss Yan ran into some trouble before she fell into the water. A memory of meeting Miss Yan for the first time at the orphanage gates when she was a teenager flashed in Song Tingxue’s mind. Although she didn’t know about Miss Yan’s family background, her demeanor, along with the bodyguards who followed her, suggested she was not from an ordinary family.

Yan Qingqi was about to reply when another message from Song Tingxue arrived: [Don’t go to the beach at the cove. It’s not safe.]

It must be far from the city.

Yan Qingqi thought happily, My wife loves me so much and cares about me. She specifically told me not to go to the beach at the cove.

After waiting for almost an hour, the property security guard called the house to tell her that her takeout had arrived.

Yan Qingqi put on her hat and left. This time, she was clearly more familiar with the area. She didn’t get lost and found the takeout drop-off point accurately outside the community gate. To her surprise, the four-story rack was completely filled with takeout orders.

Yan Qingqi had thought that since everyone lived in villas, they would have nannies and servants to cook for them and that not many people would order takeout.

But it turned out so many people did.

Yan Qingqi curiously asked the security guard at the gate, “Are there this many takeout orders every day?”

The guard said, “This isn’t even that many today. Sometimes, we have to set up extra racks because there’s no more space.”

Yan Qingqi’s mind started working. An idea suddenly came to her. Since people were ordering takeout, why couldn’t she be the one to deliver the food? She could even earn a little money and help with the household expenses. After all, she was just idling at home anyway.

Yan Qingqi decided to act on her idea and started looking at what her neighbors had ordered.

Some were spicy, like sauerkraut fish, chopped chili fish head, stir-fried pig kidneys, and extra spicy pork liver. Others were light, like stir-fried yams with wood ear mushrooms and chicken with corn. There were also snacks like fried stinky tofu and fried dumplings.

As Yan Qingqi was looking, two girls came to pick up their takeout. They were the same two she had asked for directions the other day.

Yan Qingqi said, “Hello, you ordered takeout too?”

The two girls said, “It’s you.”

Yan Qingqi said, “Actually, I cook myself. I’m not a bad cook. I’m thinking of cooking a few extra portions and delivering them for lunch, just within our community. Would you two beautiful ladies like to join a group chat? I’ll cook whatever you want. I guarantee it will be authentic, clean, and healthy.”

One of the girls said, “Sure. What can you cook?”

Yan Qingqi looked at her takeout order, which was steamed pork ribs with fermented black beans, and smiled. “I can make this.”

The other girl asked, “Why do you want to do this?”

Yan Qingqi said, “I’m a little bored. My wife is working during the day. She’s very busy. Since I have to cook for myself for lunch anyway, I might as well make a few extra portions. It’s a part-time job.”

The girl laughed. “You’re a pretty diligent Alpha.”

“Thank you. I’m getting by. I’ll only be taking orders for lunch. For dinner, my wife will be home, and I need to cook for her, so I won’t be able to take any orders.”

“What are you cooking tomorrow? I want to eat dry-braised fish. Can you make that?”

“Dry-braised fish, I can do that.”

“I want to eat stir-fried beef with bitter melon.”

“That’s no problem.”

The two girls joined the group chat. One of them said, “You can change the group name to ‘Hidden Mountain Private Kitchen Takeout’.”

Their high-end villa community was called Hidden Mountain Villa.

Yan Qingqi was agreeable. “Okay, thank you.”

The other one said, “You can go back and write a menu and put it in the group. It would be best if you had a menu for the entire week so people can easily see what to order.”

Yan Qingqi thanked her again.

One of them also asked, “Can you make coffee? You could do coffee deliveries too.”

Yan Qingqi’s face turned red. “I can’t do that. I only know how to drink coffee.”

The two girls laughed and left. Yan Qingqi waved at them. “Thanks for the suggestions, beautiful ladies! Thank you, thank you.”

“No problem. We wish you success with your part-time job!”
