Accidentally Picked Up a Rich and Amnesiac Alpha (GL) - Chapter 24
The project that first brought Song Tingxue into the spotlight was a short film made by a classmate from the directing department. The classmate had found the script and asked Song Tingxue to star in it.
The short film unexpectedly won an international award, which gave Song Tingxue a small measure of fame, and many directors reached out to the budding actress.
Unfortunately, Song Tingxue was not “worldly,” didn’t “understand the rules,” and didn’t “know how to network.”
The roles of female lead and female supporting lead that were initially offered to her ended up going to others without exception. In terms of looks, they weren’t as good as her. In terms of acting, they were laughable. Yet, somehow, they got the resources.
For two years after graduation, Song Tingxue was relegated to being an extra, stuck in small roles as Female N. At her lowest point, she had virtually no work and even took a part-time job at a bubble tea shop to earn money.
It was then that Ji Yun found her and secured her the role of the female third lead in a drama. That year, the show was packed with young female stars and beautiful women vying for attention. Song Tingxue, with her naturally simple and genuine appearance in the drama, once again caught the public eye. Subsequently, the renowned Director Lu, recognizing her talent, cast her as the female lead. That drama immediately became the year’s biggest hit, propelling Song Tingxue into becoming a top star.
Ji Yun seized the opportunity and got her a role in a major film production. Song Tingxue did not disappoint, successfully winning the Golden Sash Award for Best Actress with that film. The following year, she won the Golden Orchid Award for Best Actress. Two years later, the Golden Deer Award for Best Actress.
At just 27 years old, she had won the “Three Gold” awards, was a box office guarantee, a top-tier celebrity, and was affectionately known by netizens as the “Nation’s Goddess.”
News of the incident at the dinner party spread quickly through the film crew today. Song Tingxue had genuinely run into trouble last night.
The news circulated quickly on set. Some people were indignant and furious on behalf of the Movie Queen. Others were indifferent. Some adopted an attitude of “it has nothing to do with me,” and a few even gloated, secretly wishing for her downfall.
But most people were curious. It was rumored that Song Tingxue was picked up by her personal assistant last night after the dinner. Who was this assistant that could make the wealthy and powerful Mr. Jin bow and scrape and see them off with a smile?
“Sister Xiaole, I heard Sister Song was picked up by her personal assistant after the dinner party last night?”
“Yeah, Sister Xiaole, tell us! What does Sister Song’s personal assistant look like?”
“Is her assistant a Amazonian type, someone who looks like they can fight?”
“Who says they have to be able to fight? Maybe the person is really rich?”
“Rich enough to be someone’s personal assistant? Just to pursue Sister Song? Are you reading ancient romance novels?”
Xiaole’s face was stern and fierce. “I don’t know, I don’t know. You know Sister Song hates people with big mouths around her. Why are you asking me? Are you trying to get me fired?”
“Hmph! How stingy! You won’t even tell us a little bit.”
When the group dispersed, Xiaole got into the assistant’s car. “Sister Song, everyone was asking about Sister Yan. I didn’t reveal a single word.”
Song Tingxue gave a faint acknowledgment, her brow lightly furrowed as if deep in thought.
Earlier today, Ji Yun had called her, asking how she had managed to escape the situation last night.
Song Tingxue was secretly surprised. She had assumed the phone call Mr. Jin received was arranged by the company. It turned out it wasn’t.
Ji Yun, in turn, asked her if she had encountered a “noble person” who had helped her.
Song Tingxue could only say it was a friend.
Ji Yun didn’t ask further, only saying, “You have a friend like that? That’s very rare. They’ll be a great help to you in the future. You need to maintain a good relationship with this friend.”
Song Tingxue then tried calling Mr. Xiao. Unexpectedly, Mr. Xiao was even more polite to her. Even over the phone, Song Tingxue could sense a hint of admiration.
“Little Xue, that’s not right of you. Since you know a friend like Mr. Jiang, why didn’t you say so earlier? You’re being too much of a stranger.”
Song Tingxue: “…”
Unable to admit that she didn’t know any Mr. Jiang, she had to rely on her acting skills. “It was out of necessity. Mr. Jiang is a very low-key person.”
“Mr. Jiang doesn’t want anyone to know, right? I understand, I understand. Let’s have dinner together another day. I hope we can still collaborate in the future.”
Song Tingxue: “Of course, thank you, Mr. Xiao.”
After hanging up, Song Tingxue’s mind was even more clouded with doubt. Her cool, beautiful brows furrowed slightly.
Who is Mr. Jiang? Why did he happen to call at that exact moment? It sounded like he specifically called to help me out. And who has enough influence to make Mr. Jiang call?
Xiaole saw Sister Song lost in thought and didn’t disturb her. “Sister Song, I’ll go get your food.”
“No need. You eat. I’ll just have some fruit and a small meal.”
“Right, I almost forgot. Sister Yan prepared your special fruit meal.”
Xiaole went to the car’s built-in refrigerator and took out a pre-packed fruit meal.
Today’s meal consisted of four small pieces of pineapple, two pieces of honeydew melon, and a small slice of whole-grain bread topped with scrambled eggs. It was wrapped in paper, making it hygienic and easy to eat.
Xiaole sighed. Although Sister Yan isn’t good at earning money and Sister Song is the breadwinner, the quality of Sister Song’s meals has significantly improved since she got married.
Song Tingxue opened the special meal A-Yan had prepared for her. It was called a “special meal” because the pineapple and honeydew were cut into heart shapes, which looked quite adorable.
The corners of Song Tingxue’s mouth curved up. She pierced a piece of pineapple and took a gentle bite. It was sweet and slightly sour. Imagining A-Yan meticulously cutting the fruit in the kitchen, Song Tingxue squinted her eyes and ate the piece of pineapple in two bites.
The doubt and worry in her clear eyes faded, replaced by a feeling of ease, joy, and happiness.
It spread from her lips and teeth all the way to her heart.
“Wife, you’re back.”
Song Tingxue got out of the car and opened the door. She was immediately hugged by Yan Qingqi.
“Wife, are you tired?”
“Not tired. I only filmed for half a day today, so it was easy.”
“Go wash your hands. Dinner is almost ready.”
Song Tingxue hummed in acknowledgment, took off her hat, sunglasses, and mask, and went to wash her hands with a smile.
Across the street, the idle Qiao An sat by the second-floor window, watching a commercial van stop, and a fully masked but tall, well-figured woman get out and casually enter the house. Even from this distance, the unmistakable aura of a big star was obvious.
That must be the top star, Song Tingxue.
Thank goodness I’m not a fan. If people knew a big star lived next door, her cousin probably wouldn’t be able to live in peace either.
Qiao An watched her go inside and, in a rare moment of gossip, followed the woman’s movements into the living room with her eyes. Soon, Qiao An sighed and looked away. The movie queen’s house had anti-peeping glass, and from this distance outside, she couldn’t see anything at all.
Qiao An sent a message to Jing Michu: [Movie Queen Song is home.]
The other party didn’t reply. She was probably still on the plane.
Qiao An pulled her legs up and sat lazily on the windowsill.
It’s a shame my cousin is mentally injured and doesn’t recognize me. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have to eat that terrible takeout. She could go across the street to her cousin’s place for a free meal and chat with Movie Queen Song, who had countless fans.
“A-Yan, your cooking is truly delicious. The flavor is better than many restaurants outside.”
“Really?” Hearing her wife’s affirmation, Yan Qingqi happily served her more food. “Wife, have a few more bites.”
Song Tingxue smiled as she accepted A-Yan’s feeding, asking as she ate, “You’re not bored at home by yourself, are you?”
“No, I’m not bored.” Yan Qingqi thought, I’m busy every day buying ingredients, cooking, delivering takeout, cleaning the house, and doing laundry. The only time she really got to rest was for two or three hours in the afternoon.
“Really?”
“Really. I’m not bored at all. I’m busy all day.”
Song Tingxue looked up, glancing around. The table was clean and tidy, the floor was sparkling. The house was spotless—which meant it required effort to clean.
“I’ll hire a maid, so you won’t be so tired.”
Hire a maid? If she hired a maid, her side job delivering takeout would be exposed!
“No need. I can handle it myself. If we had a maid, I’d have nothing to do, and then I’d be bored! Besides,” Yan Qingqi looked at the beautiful goddess wife across from her with a smile, “with another person in the house, we won’t be able to kiss and hug whenever we want.”
Song Tingxue shyly lowered her eyes, a faint, sweet smile on her lips, and a blush on her ear tips.
After Yan Qingqi finished the dishes, she glanced into the gym. Her wife had finished yoga and was sweating on the treadmill.
Taking the opportunity, Yan Qingqi started to check tomorrow’s orders: five portions of seafood porridge, four portions of stir-fried mantis shrimp. An An ordered one portion of each. This meant tomorrow’s gross profit would exceed 300 yuan.
Yan Qingqi felt a small thrill of excitement. Seeing that people in the group were already pre-ordering lunch for the day after tomorrow, Yan Qingqi was even happier.
Hehe, my side job is starting to really take off.
Song Tingxue came out of the gym. She saw Yan Qingqi sitting at the desk, buried in concentration like a school student, and asked with a smile, “What are you doing?”
“N-nothing. Just looking at something online.” Yan Qingqi quickly locked the screen and turned to smile at her.
“Then why are you blushing? Are you hot?”
Yan Qingqi, who always blushed when she lied, said, “Yes, I’m a little hot. I’m sweating.”
Song Tingxue leaned down, touching the elegant curve of her cheek, and then gently stroked her chin. Her pale fingertips brushed against Yan Qingqi’s lovely, delicate skin. “Go take a shower.”
Yan Qingqi could wash her hair today. After days of not washing it, she happily washed her hair. When she came out with dry hair, Song Tingxue was waiting for her in bed.
Song Tingxue’s gaze fell on the face with its deep, exquisite features. This face would, at times, unintentionally reveal an inner aristocracy—a kind of calm elegance gained through long-term refinement in her every movement.
Her hair was now glossy black like silk. The section of delicate, bright white skin at her neck was highlighted by the dark hair, making her skin appear radiant.
Song Tingxue’s eyes then fell on her rosy lips, which looked moist, beautiful, tempting, and ready to be eaten.
Speaking of eating… Song Tingxue’s throat began to tighten. The scent of night-blooming cereus silently bloomed in the air. She patted the spot next to her. “Come here.”
Yan Qingqi hummed, completely unaware that she was being targeted by an Omega. She uncapped a bottle of water and took a few sips, then lifted the blanket and got into bed.
Song Tingxue, who had been holding a script, tossed it onto the table and took off her glasses. “Are you tired?”
“Not tired. I didn’t do much today.”
Her voice cut off as a moist, gentle kiss landed on Yan Qingqi’s lips. Her tongue traced the outline of Yan Qingqi’s lips, carrying the soft scent of night-blooming cereus. Yan Qingqi’s breathing hitched. She cupped Songsong’s slender waist, flipped her over, and kissed her back, her tongue parting Songsong’s sweet lips to deepen the kiss.
Song Tingxue seemed to have been waiting for this moment. Feeling Yan Qingqi’s arrival, she actively sought her sweetness.
She yearned for intimacy with A-Yan, captivated by the cedar scent on her, just as she had been years ago when she smelled the lovely cedar scent of the Alpha pheromones in Miss Yan’s arms, even though it was only a very brief physical contact. Because of that, over the years, whenever Song Tingxue inadvertently thought of Miss Yan’s charming and elegant smile, she would remember that intoxicating cedar scent, and her heart would race.
A seductive look crept onto her cool eyes. Song Tingxue hooked her arms around Yan Qingqi’s neck, silently pulling her closer.
Her Miss Yan, the unattainable goddess she didn’t dare to hope for, was kissing her—the passionate kiss of lovers.
“A-Yan…” Song Tingxue kissed her, her tongue meeting hers, inviting her to kiss, entangle, envelop, and passionately claim her.
Song Tingxue held her, closed her eyes, and kissed her more deeply.
Yan Qingqi felt Songsong’s long eyelashes brushing against her face, sending electric currents straight to her heart. Yan Qingqi’s heart trembled. She kissed Songsong again, greedy and possessive.
Yan Qingqi breathed heavily, her breath terrifyingly hot, and her eyes were red.
My Songsong smells so good! How can the night-blooming cereus pheromone be so lovely!
Song Tingxue breathed heavily, her breaths searingly hot. Surrounded by the overwhelming scent of cedar, every pore on her body trembled with excitement.
When the hot lips landed on her pale neck again, Song Tingxue’s body involuntarily shuddered. Under the Alpha pheromone’s seductive influence, the night-blooming cereus scent was as rich as the most delicious honey. Her entire body turned pink, and her eyes, hazy with moisture, looked softly at Yan Qingqi, an unspoken temptation.
She was waiting for her Alpha to mark her.
Who could resist the pheromones of a top-tier Omega?
Especially when this Omega was her beloved Songsong.
Yan Qingqi’s heart constricted, and her breathing stopped. Her marking tooth, radiating the cedar scent, was exposed. She wrapped one arm around her Omega and lifted the long hair from the back of her neck.
That night, the ice goddess shed her cold exterior, revealing her softest, most affectionate core. Song Tingxue felt as if she would melt into water. Amidst her soft, graceful moans, she could only hold A-Yan weakly, allowing her Alpha to mark her, giving her everything she asked for.
After the storm, it was already past midnight. Song Tingxue snuggled into Yan Qingqi’s arms, her eyes half-closed, clinging tightly to her A-Yan.
“Wife, should I take you to rinse off?”
Song Tingxue shook her head lazily. “I don’t want to move.”
Yan Qingqi kissed Songsong’s cute nose. “You don’t have to move. I’ll carry you.”
With that, Yan Qingqi jumped out of bed, pulling the blanket aside. The Alpha’s strong arms effortlessly lifted Song Tingxue. Song Tingxue was cradled in her arms, shyly wrapping her arms around Yan Qingqi’s neck, clinging to her like a small bird.
The two naked people walked into the bathroom.
Hot streams of water sprayed from the showerhead. Under the shower, the two wet figures hugged and kissed each other once more.
The steam filled the bathroom, making the private space feel hazy and dreamy like a fairyland. The plan for a quick rinse quickly and uncontrollably spiraled out of control.
Yan Qingqi woke up early as usual, bending over to look at the sleeping Song Tingxue beside her. The sleeping Songsong had a faint smile on her lips. She was a gentle person, devoid of the cold aloofness she displayed to outsiders.
Yan Qingqi watched her wife for a while, a smile slowly creeping onto her own lips. She gently tucked the blanket around her wife, then quietly went to wash up.
As usual, she went to the market to buy ingredients, got coffee, and went home to make breakfast for her wife.
When she drove Song Tingxue out, Qiao An was jogging by in the community.
“Wife, have a smooth day.”
Song Tingxue smiled and hummed in acknowledgment. She had never been so eager for her daily filming to go smoothly so she could finish work early and come home to A-Yan.
Qiao An watched them hug at the door. Then, the fully masked Movie Queen Song lowered her head and went out, slipping into the car. A young girl, presumably her assistant, put a lunch box into the car’s built-in refrigerator.
The car door closed, and the car slowly drove away, passing Qiao An, who was running toward it.
Yan Qingqi, who saw Qiao An appear in her line of sight, was a little surprised. Qiao An smiled and greeted her. “Morning, Sister Yanyan.”
“Morning. What are you doing here?”
“I live here,” Qiao An said, her words surprising Yan Qingqi even more. “You forgot? You said your takeout only delivers in this community. To eat Sister Yanyan’s cooking, Chu Chu had to make me live here.”
Yan Qingqi was more shocked. She thought An An might come back at noon to order her food, but she hadn’t expected her to actually move in here.
“Sister Yanyan, I live in building 31. I’m counting on you for lunch. I’m looking forward to the seafood porridge and the stir-fried mantis shrimp.”
Qiao An smiled and continued running along the community road.
Xiaole glanced at the rearview mirror and inadvertently saw Yan Qingqi talking to a pretty girl. Judging by the girl’s casual sportswear, she was clearly a resident of the community out for a morning run.
“Sister Song, Sister Yan is chatting with a girl. Do you know her?”
Chatting?
Song Tingxue, who was looking at her phone, immediately looked back, only managing a quick glance at the girl’s profile before her view was blocked by the corner’s trees.
The girl with the ponytail, even just in profile, was pure and pretty. Judging by her figure, she must be an Omega.
Song Tingxue turned back, her face showing no emotion. She said faintly, “Yes, I know her. She’s a resident of the community. I’ve seen her before.”
Yan Qingqi was busy at home, taking apart the crabs and cleaning the shrimp, squid, scallops, and abalone. By noon, the fragrant seafood porridge was ready. She then started stir-frying the mantis shrimp over high heat.
The mantis shrimp were big and plump today. She saved two for Songsong to eat for dinner.
After plating the food, the takeout boss Yan Qingqi set off, delivering the orders one by one. The elite Alpha from building 25 ordered every day and even said, “Your cooking is so good. Why didn’t you open a private kitchen before?”
Yan Qingqi said, “I only moved here recently. I had nothing to do at home, so I decided to start this private kitchen.”
The elite Alpha from building 25 handed her a business card. “If you ever want to make it bigger, let’s partner up and open a restaurant, then turn it into a national chain.”
Yan Qingqi smiled and thanked her, accepting the business card.
She had no plans to expand for now. She just wanted to be with Songsong and take care of her meals. Compared to the grand vision of a national chain, she felt that the private kitchen takeout with ten or so orders a day was more suitable for her. It allowed her to earn a little money without interfering with her sweet, daily life with Songsong.
The last stop was building 31. Yan Qingqi was just about to press the doorbell when the door opened.
“Sister Yanyan, you’re finally here. I’ve been waiting for you for a long time.”
Qiao An enthusiastically took the two takeout bags from Yan Qingqi’s hands and eagerly opened them. She happily started eating at the dining table. The seafood porridge was fresh and delicious, the rice was fragrant and soft, and the stir-fried mantis shrimp were incredibly tasty.
“Sister Yanyan, your cooking is truly top-notch! I haven’t had it in so long!”
Qiao An’s eyes sparkled with excitement. She enthusiastically invited Yan Qingqi, “Sister Yanyan, please sit anywhere. I don’t have much food or drink here yet. I just placed an order, and it hasn’t arrived.”
“It’s alright.” Yan Qingqi glanced around. The house was empty, with few decorations or furnishings. It seemed they had truly moved in hastily.
“Where is Miss Jing? I don’t see her.”
“She went back to S City. Only a very small number of people know about your disappearance. It hasn’t been made public, and many people in the company don’t even know. She had to go back to watch over the company and will fly back in a few days.”
Qiao An ate several spoonfuls of seafood porridge, then started eating the crab. The crab legs were coated in a golden, crispy batter and stir-fried to perfection, without overpowering the taste of the crab itself. Qiao An’s eyes narrowed in pleasure as she ate.
“Is it good?”
“Delicious! It’s really delicious!”
Yan Qingqi smiled faintly, pulled out a chair, and sat down across from her. “Did you use to eat my cooking often?”
“Yes. Chu Chu and I would go to your house for dinner at least once a week. You would only cook if you saw me there. You made things like crab, mantis shrimp, lobster, lion’s head meatballs, mandarin fish with sweet and sour sauce, and fish ball soup. You cooked better than any hotel.”
“I was that good at cooking? But didn’t you say I was Miss Wen, the heiress of the Wen family? Did an heiress need to cook for herself?”
“Yes, you are Miss Wen, the heiress. You have the most shares in the company.” Qiao An smiled at her. “But Sister Yanyan, you were more like the Empress Dowager. The CEO handled most of the company’s external affairs and social engagements. It was Chu Chu’s mother before, and now it’s Chu Chu.”
“So, I was a wealthy layabout?”
Qiao An said, “Sister Yanyan, it’s just that you don’t like to show your face. You’re very knowledgeable about the company’s affairs. Chu Chu said you have excellent foresight. A few years ago, you were the one who approved the company’s overseas project acquisition, which successfully expanded our international market. You also proposed the company’s future new business development.”
Yan Qingqi was a little surprised. It sounded like she wasn’t completely useless.
“As for cooking, Sister Yanyan, the reason you were such a good cook was because you wanted to cook for Manman. Once, I asked you, ‘Cousin, why are you such a good cook?’”
“You said that your parents, Auntie and Uncle Wen, passed away when you were ten. Manman was only five then, and she kept crying and asking for your parents. She refused to eat. You started taking care of Manman then, learning to cook the dishes you remembered your mom making for her. The first time you cooked, it wasn’t good. Manman found it disgusting, spat out the one bite she took, and cried for your mom. Later, your cooking got better and better, and you learned to cook more and more dishes.”
Qiao An sniffled. She couldn’t imagine how the two sisters managed during those days right after they lost their parents. Wen Shuyan had never told anyone. She had asked Chu Chu, who said she didn’t know either. Her cousin hadn’t told anyone.
Only Chu Chu’s mother, the Wen family’s aunt, had later remarked, “Yanyan is such a sensible child. She was a sister and a mother all at once. It’s a blessing that Manman had such a good sister.”
After finishing her deliveries and returning home, Yan Qingqi felt a heavy ache in her heart. She went to the refrigerator and took out a bottle of sparkling water.
The clear water slid down her throat, and a refreshing coolness spread from her chest to her limbs.
In her mind, a very cute little girl suddenly appeared. Her skin was fair, and her large, dark eyes smiled at her. “Sister, I want to eat your chicken wings again tomorrow. They’re so good.”
“Okay. You’re such a good girl, Manman. Sister will cook them for you again tomorrow.”
Who is this little girl?
Could it really be her sister, the one she relied on after their parents died?
After finishing the bottle of water, Yan Qingqi remembered Jing Michu and Qiao An, who had come for lunch yesterday. Their words echoed in her ears.
Was she really Wen Shuyan, the eldest daughter of the wealthy Wen family in S City, who had suddenly disappeared a few days ago after an accident?
If that was the case…
Yan Qingqi’s eyes widened sharply.
Then what about Songsong? Songsong said they were lovers in a secret relationship for years. Was Songsong lying to her?
No, no way. Yan Qingqi’s face turned pale, and she immediately dismissed the thought. Songsong loves me so much. She would never lie to me.
She suddenly remembered that Songsong was a movie queen and couldn’t make her relationship and marriage public. Right, maybe she and Songsong fell in love when she was still a rich heiress, and they just kept their relationship a secret.
Even though she herself found this explanation far-fetched, Yan Qingqi repeated it to herself over and over, as if comforting herself and numbing her mind. Yes, that’s it. It must be it.
That evening, Song Tingxue returned around her usual time.
Yan Qingqi heard the sound of the car stopping and quickly took off her apron to open the door.
“Wife, you’re back.” With that, she reached out, took the bag from Song Tingxue, who was about to use her fingerprint to open the door, and then took off her hat and mask.
“How did you know I was back?”
“I heard the car. Look, isn’t the car driving away now?”
“Were you waiting for me?”
“Yes, I wait for my wife to come home every day.”
The door was closed behind them. Song Tingxue smiled, threw herself into Yan Qingqi’s arms, and kissed her on the lips. “A-Yan, it’s so good to have you home.”
Yan Qingqi wrapped her arms around her and kissed her back with a smile. “I love it too. I love being able to wait for Songsong every day.”
“Mhm!” Song Tingxue kissed her on the cheek again, and countless little sparks flashed in her snow-clear eyes.
“Come on, go wash your hands and eat. Dinner just arrived on the table when you got back. I made stir-fried mantis shrimp today. They’re very plump. Do you like them?”
“I love them!”
“Then hurry up and wash your hands.”
Song Tingxue laughed and ran to the washroom to wash her hands, her light skirt fluttering with her cheerful steps.
Song Tingxue was incredibly happy at that moment.
Maybe the girl who was talking and chatting with A-Yan this morning was really just a passing neighbor.
It’s normal to know your neighbors, isn’t it?
The small knot of worry that had been twisting in her heart all day, the little splinter of doubt that had popped up while she was filming, was now easily resolved, gone, and forgotten.
Yan Qingqi ate her vegetables, watching her wife happily eat the crab. She smiled and said, “I didn’t realize you liked it so much. I’ll make it again in a couple of days.”
Song Tingxue nodded, her lips curving in a happy arc. “Okay!” She loved anything A-Yan cooked for her.
“Do I cook better, or does the food outside taste better?”
“You cook better. Much better!” Movie Queen Song, with her hair temporarily tied in a ponytail, seriously enjoyed the delicious food. “I don’t like socializing. I don’t like meeting so many people and drinking, but it’s unavoidable. Then, I just have to talk and drink with them. Who actually eats at those dinners? Sometimes, when I come home from an event, if my stomach is upset, I cook something to eat.”
“What do you eat then?”
“Small wontons, sweet rice balls in fermented rice soup, or instant porridge. I don’t dare eat too many carbs, so I just have a couple of bites.”
Yan Qingqi’s heart ached. “What about me? Don’t I cook for you?”
Song Tingxue suddenly paused, her hand stopping. “You… we don’t always live together. I’m often filming in other places alone. But whenever we live together, you always cook for me.”
“Songsong,” Yan Qingqi suddenly called her name.
“Hmm?” Song Tingxue looked up.
She saw Yan Qingqi looking straight at her, her dark eyes unusually serious. “I’ll go wherever you film from now on. I’ll cook for you.”
That night, Yan Qingqi took a shower, made the bed, and was about to lie down when her phone rang. It was Song Tingxue’s phone.
The caller ID showed: Sister Ji.
Yan Qingqi had heard Song Tingxue say that was her agent.
She picked up the phone, ran over in her slippers, and handed it to Song Tingxue, who was drying her hair. “Songsong, you have a call.”
The sound of the hairdryer stopped abruptly. A moment later, Yan Qingqi heard Song Tingxue’s stiff voice. “Okay, I understand. I’ll be there the day after tomorrow.”
After hanging up, Song Tingxue finished drying her hair and got into bed.
“What’s wrong? Did Sister Ji call you for something?”
“Nothing much. The company got me a role in the next film. An investor suggested meeting me for dinner.”
Yan Qingqi immediately became alert at the mention of this, instantly remembering the fat Mr. Jin.
Song Tingxue saw her looking on edge and reassured her gently, “It’s fine. It’s just a regular dinner. I’ll fly to Z City the day after tomorrow and take a red-eye flight back.”
Z City, like S City, was one of the two largest metropolises in the country. L City, where they were currently living, was an economically developed coastal city, but it was primarily focused on tourism and known for its natural scenery. Compared to large metropolises like S City and Z City, it was much smaller. But because of its scenic location and film studios, many celebrities had property there, including a top movie queen like Song Tingxue. Having her own residence made filming more convenient.
Yan Qingqi looked down. After a moment, she said, “I’ll pick you up at the airport the night after tomorrow.”
“No need. It’s a late-night flight. Xiaole will drive me back. You just rest at home.”
Yan Qingqi didn’t say anything. She thought about it, and it seemed like there wasn’t much else she could do besides picking her up and cooking her a late-night snack.
As her Alpha, her ability to act was surprisingly limited. There were even times when she couldn’t protect her.
Yan Qingqi pursed her lips and pulled the blanket up to lie down.
“What’s wrong? Why aren’t you saying anything?” Song Tingxue naturally noticed A-Yan’s low mood and gently comforted her. “Don’t worry. People like Mr. Jin are rare. In all these years, I’ve only encountered them once or twice. Don’t worry, Sister Ji will be with me at this dinner, so everything will be fine. Xiaole and Lingzi will also be with me when I travel, so you really don’t have to worry.”
Yan Qingqi nodded. Songsong clearly disliked these kinds of social events, yet she had to turn around and comfort her.
Yan Qingqi sighed heavily in her heart and managed a small smile. “Then tell me, what do you want to eat when you come back the night after tomorrow?”
Song Tingxue saw her finally smile and talk. She smiled and said, “I want wontons. The tiny kind of wontons.” Song Tingxue held out her pinky to demonstrate the size.
“The kind with very little filling, very miniature wontons. They really test the skill of the person making them. Can you make them?”
“I absolutely can. If I don’t know how, I can learn tomorrow and the day after. I must make those tiny wontons for my wife.”
Song Tingxue laughed, leaned down, and kissed Yan Qingqi’s face. Probably finding the feel of her lips pleasant, she moved to her mouth, and finally, she brushed the stray hair from her ear and kissed the lips she had been thinking about all evening.
Yan Qingqi gently pushed her away. “We can’t do that again today. You need to rest properly.”
“Why?”
“I don’t want you to be too tired. You were exhausted yesterday, so you need to preserve your energy today and be a pure little baby.”
Song Tingxue smiled faintly. “I’m not tired, and I don’t want to be a pure little baby.”
Yan Qingqi blushed. “I need to rest too. I saw a post on my phone saying Alphas shouldn’t overindulge, or it will affect having a baby in the future. We haven’t had a baby yet.”
Song Tingxue almost laughed out loud. She propped herself up, her bright eyes looking at her. “When do you want to have a baby?”
Yan Qingqi’s face was even redder. “Whenever you feel is right. We’ll have one when you’re ready.”
Song Tingxue thought for a moment. “How about in two years? Let’s film a few more projects and earn some more money. Then we’ll have a baby.”
“Okay.”
Yan Qingqi suddenly felt very excited about having a baby with Songsong. It would definitely be fair-skinned and incredibly beautiful, with Songsong’s eyes and nose. When it smiled, its eyes would sparkle like a cute porcelain doll.
Yan Qingqi’s lips curved upward. While thinking this, she gave a joyous and expectant smile.
Perhaps the Alpha was too well-behaved, or her eyes were too pure, but that look of delicate, longing admiration was an unconscious invitation.
Song Tingxue licked her lips and leaned in to kiss her again, her soft, slightly moist lips enveloping Yan Qingqi’s soft, fragrant ones.
