Accidentally Picked Up a Rich and Amnesiac Alpha (GL) - Chapter 33
Sunlight filtered through the leaves, illuminating the mountain path in the morning. This was a “rainbow trail” located behind the community, where residents could enjoy the distant sea view while exercising.
In the early morning, there were very few people here. Aside from Yan Qingqi and Song Tingxue, they only occasionally encountered someone else.
Since Song Tingxue had a rare day off and was in the mood, they went for a walk early in the morning.
After resting last night, Songsong’s “injury” had healed, but Yan Qingqi still didn’t dare let her engage in strenuous activity. So the two simply strolled hand-in-hand, chatting and laughing, stopping occasionally to take a photo.
When they heard someone approaching, Yan Qingqi quickly reminded her wife to put on her mask. Once the runner had gone, Song Tingxue pulled her mask down, revealing her cool, ethereal face.
In the morning light, Yan Qingqi smiled brightly and cheerfully, full of vigor.
“Songsong, are you tired? Do you want to go back?”
Song Tingxue said, “No, I’m not tired. It’s been a long time since I’ve been out for a walk like this.”
They stopped at one point to rest. Song Tingxue leaned on her shoulder, looking at the distant scenery, inhaling the scent of cedar next to her. Her face was lightly flushed from the exercise.
“Here, drink some water.” Yan Qingqi handed her a bottle of water.
Song Tingxue shook her head, and the blush on her face seemed to deepen. “A-Yan, let’s go home.”
Yan Qingqi was puzzled. “Why? Didn’t you say you wanted to walk to that pavilion?”
Song Tingxue lowered her head and bit her lip, a maidenly shyness in her eyes. “My, my heat is starting again.”
Yan Qingqi was startled. “Is it very uncomfortable?”
Song Tingxue said, “I can hold it in.”
Yan Qingqi glanced around. They were in the middle of the path, far from the community. It would take almost 40 minutes to return the way they came or to continue forward and loop back, even if they walked quickly.
Yan Qingqi scratched her head and called Jing Michu, but Qiao An answered.
“Cousin, what’s wrong?”
“Where’s Xiao Chu?”
“That lazybones is still sleeping soundly in bed.”
“Oh, I’m sorry. Songsong and I are out exercising, and something came up. We need to rush home. Could you drive over to pick us up?”
“No problem. I’ll come right away. Where are you?”
“I’ll send you the location.”
After hanging up, Song Tingxue asked, “Is that too much trouble for Miss Qiao?”
After all, they were just neighbors. Even though they had eaten together and were familiar, it was still just a neighborly relationship. Song Tingxue felt a little guilty for inconveniencing her.
Yan Qingqi, however, seemed very relaxed. “It’s fine. Qiao An has a lovely personality and enjoys exercising. She won’t mind.”
Song Tingxue couldn’t help but stare at her. “Are you very familiar with Qiao An? Do you two usually exercise and run together?”
Yan Qingqi paused, finding the question strangely familiar. She realized that Songsong had been suspicious of her and Jing Michu yesterday too.
Seeing Songsong look at her expectantly, as if eager for an answer, Yan Qingqi shook her head, finding it amusing. She gently pinched Songsong’s cheek. “What are you thinking? We all just had dinner together yesterday. She and Miss Jing are my sisters.” Yan Qingqi paused, “We agreed to be sisters.”
“Agreed?”
“Mhm,” Yan Qingqi couldn’t say “real cousin,” so she said, “We swore an oath of sisterhood. Miss Jing is the second, and Qiao An is the third.”
Song Tingxue’s mind stalled. A sudden image of Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei swearing their oath in the peach garden popped into her head. Miss Qiao An was definitely not a rough, bearded man like Zhang Fei.
Song Tingxue quickly shook her head, getting rid of “General Zhang Fei Qiao.”
“Is it because your cooking is so good?”
“You guessed right again.”
A few minutes later, Qiao An arrived in her flashy sports car.
But the impractical car, while eye-catching, only had room for two people.
Qiao An generously said, “Sister Yanyan, you and Sister-in-Law go back first. I need the exercise anyway, so I’ll run back.”
Yan Qingqi didn’t hesitate. “Alright then. Thank you, Xiao An.”
Song Tingxue felt more embarrassed. “Thank you, Miss Qiao.”
“It’s nothing, Sister-in-Law. Don’t be a stranger. I came specifically to pick you up anyway.” Qiao An smiled brightly and genuinely. Her pure, sweet smile was even more lovely in the sunlight.
On the drive home, Song Tingxue couldn’t help but say, “Miss Qiao is really cute. She’s sweet, and her personality is great. I wish I had a sister like her.”
Yan Qingqi smiled faintly. “You will.”
The two drove the car to building 31. Yan Qingqi placed the car key in the rose flower pot on the windowsill outside the door, sent Qiao An a message, and hurried home with Songsong.
The moment the door closed, Song Tingxue wrapped her arms around Yan Qingqi’s neck and kissed her fiercely.
Yan Qingqi lifted her in a bridal carry and carried her upstairs. “Wife, I’m here to ease your heat.”
Song Tingxue blushed and hummed in response, clinging tightly to A-Yan.
In the room, the scent of cedar wrapped around the scent of night-blooming cereus, locked in a fervent embrace.
Songsong, in her heat cycle, was completely flushed with an inviting pink, like jade dyed with rouge, or like peach blossoms blooming on a branch in March. Reflected in Yan Qingqi’s glowing eyes, she was a sight of unparalleled beauty.
Her whole body was trembling uncontrollably. Her long eyelashes cast a shadow over her eyes. Her beautiful, tempting lips were slightly parted, revealing the pink tip of her tongue.
As her breathing deepened, the pink tip of her tongue flickered restlessly, as if seeking a kiss.
When Yan Qingqi kissed her again, their wet lips and tongues instantly intertwined. Songsong sucked at her A-Yan with a desperate hunger, clinging tightly like seaweed, sucking deeply. Yan Qingqi felt the base of her tongue ache from the intensity but couldn’t bear to let go. She only hugged the Omega in her arms tighter.
Song Tingxue barely left the bed that day.
It wasn’t until 10 p.m. that Song Tingxue felt the most restless and uncomfortable period pass. She threw off the blanket and stepped out of bed, her long, straight legs moving. But after only two steps, she realized her whole body was sore, especially her waist, which felt completely broken.
She held her waist and walked into the bathroom, looking at herself in the mirror. She gasped.
Her body was covered in red marks, large and small, from her shoulders and neck down. Song Tingxue turned around, and sure enough, her back, and further down… were all covered.
This…
Song Tingxue shyly lowered her head. A-Yan, why did you bite everywhere?
When she finished her shower and went downstairs, Yan Qingqi had already prepared a late-night snack. “Songsong, why did you come down? Are you feeling unwell anywhere?”
Yan Qingqi was very worried, afraid she had overworked Songsong again. Every time she hugged and marked Songsong, even at the peak of excitement, Yan Qingqi was careful to control her strength.
Song Tingxue’s face was slightly red. “No, I’m fine.”
Wearing a red slip nightgown, she slowly sat down at the dining table. “What are we eating today?”
“I made porridge, stir-fried two small dishes, and grilled two skewers of lamb.”
Yan Qingqi brought the dishes and the porridge one by one. Song Tingxue picked up a skewer of lamb.
The lamb was lightly seasoned, visually appetizing. Before she even took a bite, she could smell the aroma of the lamb fat.
Starving for most of the day, Song Tingxue took a gentle bite. The meat was crispy outside and tender inside. The flavor of the lamb burst in her mouth, immediately whetting her appetite.
“The lamb is grilled so well! It’s delicious!”
“It’s delicious, but you can’t eat too much. It can cause inflammation. Have some porridge to soothe your stomach.”
Song Tingxue ate the porridge along with the lamb skewers, occasionally accepting the small side dishes A-Yan fed her. She was so hungry, and A-Yan’s late-night snack was so delicious, that Song Tingxue unknowingly finished all the porridge and lamb skewers.
After eating, she still stared at Yan Qingqi’s lamb skewer with bright eyes.
“Wife, you can’t eat anymore. Your stomach isn’t well, and you shouldn’t overeat.”
“My stomach is fine. I’m not overeating.”
“Alright, just a little more.” Yan Qingqi carved two pieces of meat from her skewer and put them on Songsong’s plate.
Under Songsong’s pleading gaze, she carved off two more pieces.
Seeing Songsong still staring at her, Yan Qingqi was helpless. “You really can’t eat any more. It’s already past ten…”
Before she could finish, Song Tingxue snatched the remaining lamb skewer from her hand and happily ate it off the stick.
Yan Qingqi: “!!!”
My wife is stealing my food.
Song Tingxue smiled at her. “I like eating it off the stick. Thank you, A-Yan.”
She truly loved eating it off the stick, so much so that her eyebrows lifted, and she ate happily even with grease on her lips.
Yan Qingqi saw her happy like a child and felt happy too. “When your stomach is all better, I’ll grill more skewers for you, okay?”
“Okay,” Song Tingxue squinted her eyes in satisfaction. “And I want to drink the beer you drank last time—the one your second sister, Jing, brought you.”
After the late-night snack, the aloof Movie Queen Song lazily leaned on the dining table, quietly watching A-Yan clear the dishes and wipe the counter.
When Yan Qingqi finished all of it, Movie Queen Song stretched out her pale, long arms for a hug.
“A-Yan, carry me upstairs. I can’t walk anymore.”
Yan Qingqi stroked her hair. “What’s wrong? Does your stomach feel uncomfortable?”
“No, my stomach feels fine. I just feel sleepy.”
Yan Qingqi chuckled softly, picked up the lazy kitten, and carried her straight upstairs.
“A-Yan, I also want you to kiss me.”
Yan Qingqi smiled and kissed her cheek.
At this moment, Song Tingxue felt completely satisfied, believing that this was the definition of happiness in life.
When she was placed on the bed, Songsong suddenly gave a soft sound, her delicate brows furrowed.
“What’s wrong? Stomach pain?”
“No, my body hurts. It’s sore.” Song Tingxue gave her a coquettish look. “It’s all your fault.”
Yan Qingqi paused, realizing she had hurt Songsong again.
She got up and fetched the circulation balm again, sitting down by the bed. “Wife, I’ll massage you. Where is it sore?”
“My back, my waist, and my calves.”
Yan Qingqi’s massage strength was moderate, and her palms were warm. The areas her hands touched felt wonderfully comfortable.
Song Tingxue squinted her eyes in pleasure.
“Wife, does that feel good?”
“It feels good…” Song Tingxue moaned softly, moving to the left. “Yes, comfortable… a little wider… mhm, mhm…”
Looking at Songsong’s blissful expression, Yan Qingqi said, “Wife.”
“Hm?”
“Which is more comfortable: a massage or a marking?”
Songsong was very honest. “Both are comfortable. They’re just comfortable in different ways.”
After returning from grocery shopping, Yan Qingqi was invited by Jing Michu to meet at building 31. Jing Michu had been in L City for two days and was planning to return to S City today. She handed Yan Qingqi a card. “Cousin, you’re the Wen family heiress. You can’t be without some pocket money.”
Yan Qingqi considered it. She was eating and spending Songsong’s money, and as an Alpha, she felt very awkward.
Taking the card, Yan Qingqi asked, “How much is on it?”
“Not much. Thirty million.”
Yan Qingqi’s heart skipped a beat. “That much!”
Jing Michu laughed. “That’s not much. It’s just pocket money. Cousin, if you need to buy something big, like a house or a car, just tell me. And tell me if you run into any trouble in H City.”
“Understood. If there’s a problem, I’ll come to you.”
“Exactly.”
“Since you’re not staying here, I’m going back to S City with An An. I need to visit her parents and set a date for the wedding.”
Yan Qingqi nodded, suddenly speaking like an elder. “Since your mother and my parents are gone, and your uncle is also gone, I’m practically your half-elder. When you go to An An’s house, be sure to speak nicely. Whatever dowry or wedding expenses are needed, we’ll take care of it. An An is a good girl. You’re lucky to have her. You must cherish her, understand?”
Jing Michu looked at her. “Cousin, have you completely recovered your memory?”
“No.”
“Then why are you lecturing me like you used to?”
Yan Qingqi almost choked. “I only gave you a friendly reminder because you’re my cousin. If you don’t like it, I won’t say it again.”
“Don’t be mad, Cousin. You know I’m a jerk sometimes. My mom is gone now. I don’t know how much I miss having someone lecture me.”
Yan Qingqi heard the wistful tone in her voice, guessing she was missing her aunt. She asked, “What about your uncle? Why have I never heard you mention your father?”
“He divorced my mom a long time ago to pursue his pure, flawless first love. In his heart, my mom and I combined aren’t worth his first love’s pinky finger.”
Yan Qingqi patted her. “Don’t dwell on it. You’re very successful now. You and Xiao An should be happy.”
“I know, Cousin. I love An An and will definitely treat her well.”
Yan Qingqi stood up. “I need to go back. Songsong is probably waking up. I need to go check on her.”
Jing Michu stopped her. “Cousin, I know you and your Songsong have a strong relationship, but you must know by now that she may have lied to you—from the moment you collapsed by the road and she brought you back, she’s been lying to you.” Jing Michu’s tone was unreadable. “You are Wen Shuyan, the Wen family heiress in S City. You don’t follow celebrities. I never heard you mention the name Song Tingxue. I’ve never heard of you dating anyone. The probability that you were secretly dating before is zero.”
Yan Qingqi wasn’t surprised. Her tone was calm. “I know Songsong lied to me, but aside from loving me and treating me well, what else has she gained from me? The things I eat, the things I use, including the house we live in—all the expenses are hers.”
Yan Qingqi remembered the look in Songsong’s eyes countless times when they were intimate and happy—a profound love that came from her heart.
“If there was a motive, her only motive was to be with me.”
Jing Michu was momentarily stunned. Then she laughed, teasingly. “Maybe she saw that her cousin was young and beautiful and simply wanted to help the poor?”
Yan Qingqi: “…”
Back at home, Song Tingxue was still sleeping. Yan Qingqi didn’t want to wake her, seeing how soundly she slept. She knew how hard Songsong worked, and she rarely had a few days off a year, only to be constantly worked out by her, so she must be exhausted.
Just as Yan Qingqi was preparing lunch, she received a call from Doctor Shen.
“Miss Yan, are you and Sister Song coming to the hospital for the check-up tomorrow?”
“Yes, we are. Songsong’s stomach has been acting up. I want to have a thorough check-up to ease my mind.”
“Good. Then it will be at the scheduled time.”
“Thank you, Doctor Shen.”
“You’re welcome. Sister Song’s job keeps her very busy. As her family, it would be best if you paid more attention to regulating her diet.”
Yan Qingqi smiled. “I will.”
“Her stomach is sensitive. She needs to avoid spicy, cold, and irritating foods. She should also eat less of things like crab.”
Looking at the several lively crabs in the sink, Yan Qingqi: “…”
She hung up and quickly called Qiao An. “Do you two eat crab? I’ll stir-fry a plate for you.”
Yan Qingqi stir-fried the crabs and took them directly to building 31. Qiao An’s eyes sparkled. “Cousin, thank you.”
Jing Michu said, “Cousin, are you giving us a special meal because we’re leaving today?”
“Yes, yes, yes. Eat quickly. I made it because Xiao An likes it.”
Qiao An said, “Cousin, where will you be living in H City? I’ll come visit you and Chu Chu next time.”
Yan Qingqi thought for a moment. “Songsong didn’t tell me. I guess we’ll be staying in the hotel arranged by the crew.”
Jing Michu said, “Your sister-in-law will be filming for several months. Staying in a hotel is too inconvenient. Cousin, you have property in H City. If it’s not too far from the set, why don’t you stay in your own house?”
Yan Qingqi was curious. “I have property in H City?”
“You have property in S City, Z City, H City, W City… and many other cities. S City and Z City have the most. You also have a lot overseas. You even own your own winery and a ranch.”
“T-that much money…” Yan Qingqi’s mouth formed a large O. Her heart pounded from the shock of her own wealth.
Jing Michu saw her cousin’s startled and trembling reaction, finding it both novel and amusing. “Cousin, how does it feel to be a rich heiress? Is it exciting?”
“Mhm. Yes, it’s quite exciting.”
After returning from building 31, Yan Qingqi’s heart was still pounding. While preparing lunch, she still felt as if she were in a dream, a daydream. Why else would she dream of becoming a rich heiress?
Suddenly, her eyes were covered. A faint scent of night-blooming cereus lingered in her nose. A delicate, soft touch came from her eyelids, and a gentle, sweet voice sounded in her ear. “Guess who I am.”
Yan Qingqi smiled softly. “Of course, it’s my beautiful wife, my lovely Songsong.”
She turned around. It was indeed Songsong’s beautiful, ethereal face, smiling at her with bright eyes.
“Did you sleep well?”
“Yes, very well! I woke up and it was almost 11 a.m.” Song Tingxue hugged her tightly, clinging to her like a large plush toy. “You didn’t wake me.”
“I saw you sleeping so soundly. I wanted you to sleep longer.”
Song Tingxue hugged her and laughed. She felt extremely happy at this moment.
Her eyes were curved with a pure, happy smile. She was nothing like the cold, distant beauty of the snowy mountain.
Song Tingxue pouted slightly. “Kiss, I want a kiss.”
When a beautiful, lovely person acts spoiled, they are incredibly soft and sweet, like honey. With that soft voice and adorable pout, who could possibly refuse?
Especially when that person was her own most gentle wife.
Yan Qingqi smiled and kissed her lips, a sweet, pure kiss.
Song Tingxue hugged her tightly. When she pulled away, she chased after her A-Yan and kissed her again.
After kissing Yan Qingqi until she was breathless, Song Tingxue smiled, let go, and skipped up the stairs with a light, deer-like gait, her pale, long legs flashing.
Yan Qingqi stood at the bottom of the stairs, looking up. The red skirt hem billowed like waves, and a corner of black fabric peeked out briefly.
“Wife, you’re showing too much.”
“No peeking.”
Song Tingxue covered her skirt and tap-tap-tapped up the stairs in her slippers.
Yan Qingqi smiled, turned back to the stove, put on her apron, and began cooking.
At lunch, Song Tingxue’s plate held only half a crab. The other half was on Yan Qingqi’s plate.
Yan Qingqi saw her looking and quickly protected her half of the crab. “Wife, you can’t steal this. Your stomach is sensitive right now, and you can’t eat too much cold food.”
Song Tingxue gave an angry little hum.
“Don’t be mad. When your stomach is all better, I’ll make you more. I’ll make you three whole crabs.” Yan Qingqi picked up a piece of fish, dipped it in sauce, and put it in her bowl. “Eat. Eat more fish.”
The fish was tender and smooth, and the sauce was flavorful. Song Tingxue quickly ate it, her eyes squinting and her brows slowly relaxing.
“A-Yan, how are you so good at cooking?”
“I don’t know. Maybe I have a talent for it. You know, seeing you eat happily makes me happier than eating myself. I just want to cook more delicious things to make my Songsong happy.”
Song Tingxue smiled faintly, serving her a piece of fish. “You eat too.”
They ate their meal. It was a simple lunch, but Song Tingxue found it delicious. Even though she only had half a crab, she felt incredibly satisfied.
“I’ll go with you for a gastroscopy tomorrow. I’ve confirmed it with Doctor Shen.”
Song Tingxue’s heart sank. “Can’t I skip it?”
Doctor Shen had said, “We can do a painless one.”
“But that still requires anesthesia.” Song Tingxue was terrified of injections. She remembered being roughly held down and jabbed by a nurse at the orphanage when she was little, trembling in fear. The first injection failed, and the nurse gave her a cold, disdainful look.
Song Tingxue still remembered the nurse’s impatient, vicious, and cruel gaze. In the nurse’s eyes, the children in the orphanage were no different from stray cats and dogs, to be trampled upon and bullied at will.
The nurse was hateful, but what hurt Song Tingxue the most were the cold faces of the people around them, who were watching and whispering with schadenfreude. Yet, they were all the same.
Songsong’s face looked very unwell. Her body was faintly trembling.
Yan Qingqi’s heart sank. She hadn’t expected Songsong to be so resistant to injections.
“Wife,” Yan Qingqi took her hand and squeezed it comfortingly. “I’ll go with you. I won’t leave you for a single step.”
Those clear, bright eyes were gentle and warm, just like the eyes of the angel from ten years ago.
It was those eyes that made Song Tingxue realize that a stray kitten could also be seen, cared for, and cherished.
“Okay. You’ll go with me tomorrow. You can’t leave me.” Song Tingxue held her hand tightly.
With Miss Yan there, with her angel by her side, what did she have to fear?
Author’s Note:
Yan Qingqi: I’m not used to suddenly having 30 million.
