After Attending School A, I Differentiated into an Omega - Chapter 2

Leaving the payment window, Qin Fengyue hummed a little tune as she returned to the entrance of the clinic on the third floor.
“Fengyue! You’re here.” An Omega wearing a pink dress stood up from her chair.
Qin Fengyue gave an “mm” and instinctively reached out to give her a “head-rub kill.”
Stare—
The other three Omegas immediately began firing death glares. They looked ready to stare a hole right through the pink Omega’s scalp.
The doctor looked at Qin Fengyue with a genial smile and beckoned her to sit. “So, you’re Qin Fengyue?”
Qin Fengyue: “…”
The doctor’s eyes crinkled as she sized up her height and face. “Not differentiated yet, right?”
Qin Fengyue was very clear about her own positioning: “I’m a ‘Little Puppy’ Top (Gong).”
The room went silent for two seconds, followed by a sudden explosion of laughter!
“Hahahaha!”
Qin Fengyue: “…”
The “Puppy Top” felt the tips of her ears turn red. she rubbed her nose. She didn’t actually have a “baby face”—at seventeen, she already had a woman’s curves, and the mole on the tip of her nose was both sexy and playful. It was just that her family environment had nurtured a bit of a silly, puppy-like temperament in her.
She did, indeed, look a bit like a golden retriever.
The doctor asked the Omegas to go to the next table to fill out a psychological questionnaire. Looking at Qin Fengyue, she pointed to a chair. “Sit.”
“Are all these Omegas your girlfriends?” the doctor asked.
The Omegas circled around the table pricked up their ears.
Doctor: “Just answer yes or no.”
Qin Fengyue replied, “If I deny it, won’t it break their hearts too much?”
“Omegas still need to be cared for gently.”
The female doctor snorted. “I think you’re quite cute. Since you haven’t differentiated yet, have you ever considered… what if you differentiate into an Omega?”
Qin Fengyue: “This isn’t a novel. My gender identification was done at birth.”
“What if there was a mistake?”
Qin Fengyue said gloomily, “I had my gender test done at this very hospital. You might have even held me when I was a baby.”
Female Doctor: “…”
There were two doctors in the office. The other, a male doctor, laughed mercilessly. “Dr. Lin, that’s what we call shooting yourself in the foot!”
Helpless, Dr. Lin vengefully ruffled Qin Fengyue’s soft “puppy hair” into a mess, then tossed her a questionnaire. “Fill it out.”
Qin Fengyue: “My mental health is top-tier.”
“I want to see if you have the potential to be a danger to Omegas. After all, having four boats to your name and inciting a fight—most people really couldn’t pull that off.”
Qin Fengyue started to speak but stopped. She found an empty spot and squinted at the questions. After a while, she asked, “This…”
The doctor smiled. “Just answer with what’s in your heart. Aren’t you ‘top-tier’ healthy?”
Qin Fengyue turned around and scribbled down her answers, handing the paper back with a flourish.
She was ushered outside again. The door closed from the inside, leaving her with only the faint sound of muffled conversation.
Half an hour later, after enduring another round of “death by a thousand glares” from the aunts and sisters in the hallway, the Omegas walked out one by one, looking dazed and deep in thought.
Qin Fengyue: “?”
“Lili?”
“What’s wrong?”
Liu Mei was the last to come out. She looked at Qin Fengyue, a gauze bandage still on her forehead. “Qin Fengyue, what did you mean by what you just said?”
“What?”
Qin Fengyue felt her heart falter under the Omega’s furious gaze. She almost started to believe she really was a scumbag who had incited his girlfriend to get an abortion or something!
“Qin Fengyue,” the doctor called out. “Notify your parents.”
Her heart skipped a beat. She lunged for the doorframe. “Is there something wrong with my head?”
The female doctor shook the questionnaire, feigning a serious expression. “You’re quite ill.”
“Feeling better?”
Dr. Lin went on her rounds and stopped at bed No. 06.
An Su immediately propped herself up. “Dr. Lin is here.”
Jiang Zhao stood up from her stool but was pressed back down by Dr. Lin. “It’s fine, stay seated. I’m just here to check in and ask a few questions.”
Jiang Zhao gave her chair to the doctor and sat on the foot of An Su’s bed.
“Xiao Zhao, school is starting soon, right?” Dr. Lin asked.
Jiang Zhao nodded. “In a few days.”
“Time flies. Well, luckily, we won’t have to see each other in the hospital anymore.”
An Su and Jiang Zhao exchanged a look of joy. Dr. Lin brought good news: the follow-up results were ideal, and An Su could pack up and go home today or tomorrow.
An Su’s eyes welled with tears. She took the doctor’s hand and thanked her gratefully.
Jiang Zhao: “Thank you.”
Dr. Lin waved it off, then pulled a report out of her folder. “By the way, Jiang Zhao, your pheromone assessment report is out. It’s more accurate than the test strips.”
The reports weren’t clipped tightly; a stack fell to the floor. Jiang Zhao reached down to pick them up, looking straight ahead, but Dr. Lin suddenly laughed while reviewing them.
“What is it?” An Su asked.
Dr. Lin wiped her glasses. “I met a few kids today. A little Alpha brought a bunch of Omegas to the hospital.”
“The ER was too busy, so they shoved them over to me. Hahaha.”
Jiang Zhao instinctively frowned.
An Su let out a “yikes.” “Was the injury serious? An Alpha hurting an Omega? That won’t do…”
Dr. Lin: “No, no. It was a few Omegas fighting over jealousy—scratching faces and pulling hair. All minor injuries. That Alpha hasn’t even differentiated yet; she’s still a ‘fledgling’ (hasn’t grown her feathers).”
An Su caught Jiang Zhao’s expression.
Dr. Lin: “But I saw that Alpha… she looks quite good. Even before differentiating, she’s already started managing multiple boats.”
Dr. Lin found the questionnaire. “Here, this is that kid’s questionnaire. Just for a laugh.”
An Su took it, and soon the corners of her eyes crinkled with laughter.
She handed it to Jiang Zhao. Jiang Zhao asked, “Is this official?”
Dr. Lin waved her hand. “Official? No, it’s just something my undergrads use for fun. I used it to tease the kid since I had nothing to do.”
A faint smile appeared on Jiang Zhao’s lips. She scanned the paper.
[Question: You are an Alpha walking on the street. You suddenly see an Omega in heat asking for help. You will—]
-
Mark them decisively; 2. Call the police immediately; 3. Turn and run; 4. Call the police and find a way to protect yourself and the Omega. Qin Fengyue: 1.
[Question: Under what circumstances can you mark an Omega?]
-
Anytime, anywhere; 2. Only as a temporary mark when no other suppressants are available; 3. Absolutely never; 4. Only when feelings are mutual and proper. Qin Fengyue: 1.
[Question: What would you do if you met an Omega pursuing you?]
-
Reject them decisively; 2. Get together immediately; 3. Be friends first; 4. Give them an “Aura of Love” hug immediately. Qin Fengyue: 4.
Jiang Zhao: “…”
There were twelve questions in total, and all of Qin Fengyue’s answers were… questionable. Out of a hundred points, she unsurprisingly scored a zero.
Jiang Zhao was speechless. “Even if she did it on purpose, someone who flirts with that many Omegas at once isn’t a good person.”
Dr. Lin laughed, smoothing things over. “The kid is quite simple-minded. She doesn’t seem bad—probably just a ‘love-brain’ (hopeless romantic).”
Perhaps because Jiang Zhao was an Alpha and the Jiang family background was unique, An Su said softly, “She’s still a child. There’s still time for proper education.”
Dr. Lin’s smile deepened. “I thought so too.”
At the Qin residence, after Qin Dong brought Qin Fengyue home from the hospital, he called Fang Yi, who was working at the bakery, for an emergency family meeting.
The meeting was solemn; the atmosphere was tense and oppressive.
Qin Fengyue sat across the table. “A meeting is a meeting… why the ‘Triple Court Trial’?”
“What ‘Triple Court Trial’?”
Qin Fengyue pointed a finger. Qin Dong sat in the center across from her, Fang Yi sat on the right. On the left, a Husky sat on a chair, drooling over the fruit platter on the table.
Fang Yi chuckled softly.
Qin Dong: “…”
Qin Dong signaled for seriousness and looked down at Qin Fengyue. “Dr. Lin says you have latent anti-social tendencies.”
Qin Fengyue: “…”
Qin Dong pulled out the consultation slip. “Primary symptoms… seducing Omegas, then dumping them cruelly after getting them, aiming for revenge through mental and physical torture…”
The paper made a crisp sound as Qin Dong crumpled it.
Fang Yi was shocked. “That serious?”
“Nonsense!” Qin Fengyue argued her case.
“Nonsense?” Qin Dong’s expression looked like a storm was brewing. “Then what about this questionnaire report?”
Qin Dong had specifically taken a photo of it to bring back as evidence.
Qin Fengyue swallowed, incredibly nervous. “I…”
Qin Dong: “‘Mark an Omega in heat decisively’?”
“‘Can mark an Omega anytime, anywhere’!!?”
“Even a beast picks a spot when it’s in heat! Do you have any brain at all? And ‘hugs of love’!? I’m embarrassed for you just reading this!”
Qin Fengyue: “I just picked those randomly! I haven’t even differentiated, I don’t even have the… ‘equipment’ yet. How could I mark anyone!?”
Qin Dong: “You’re already like this before differentiating. I can’t imagine what you’ll be like after!?”
Qin Fengyue: “…”
The veins on Qin Dong’s forehead almost burst. “Do you have any idea what kind of looks the patients and nurses outside the clinic were giving your father!?”
Qin Dong was tall, broad-shouldered, and handsome in his 40s—very masculine. When he was in the Omega clinic, bowing his head to apologize gracefully to those little Omegas on behalf of Qin Fengyue, people couldn’t help but look at him with suggestive eyes.
Qin Fengyue swallowed, pointed at Qin Dong, then at herself. “Like father, like daughter?”
Fang Yi: “………..” Qin Dong: “………..” Qin Fengyue: “…” Husky: “Woof!”
Qin Dong stood up to look for a suitable “weapon.”
Qin Fengyue ran to the sofa, ready to bolt. “Dad! Calm down!”
Qin Dong: “Three days without a beating and you’re trying to tear the roof off! I’ll let you experience the ‘weight’ of a father’s love right now!”
Qin Fengyue was almost in tears. “Mom! Quickly, talk Dad out of it!”
Fang Yi was in a fluster. The three people and one dog were in a total mess.
Husky: “Woof! Woof!”
Qin Dong pulled a “dog stick” from under the sofa, but Fang Yi was quick and grabbed it!
“Give it to me!” Qin Dong said.
Qin Fengyue: “Mom! Throw it away!”
Fang Yi threw it, and the stick rolled to the base of the wall.
A black shadow shot out like an arrow! The Husky’s big tail wagged excitedly as it fetched the wooden stick back…
Qin Fengyue roared with a sob: “Rose! Your dog treats are canceled!”
Qin Dong’s anger reached its limit. “You dare threaten the dog now? How did I raise such a ‘dog’ thing like you!”
Fang Yi: “………..”
Qin Fengyue’s mouth twitched. “Dad! I was just joking. You were definitely played! If I knew, I wouldn’t have called you—”
Qin Dong was furious. “Played!? Then let me ask you! What happened with those Omegas who ended up in the hospital because they were fighting over you!”
“Fighting! Yue-yue, you—” Fang Yi had just stood up when she was pulled back into the chair by Qin Dong.
Qin Fengyue found her ally and pouted tearfully. “Mommy—”
Qin Dong sneered. “A doting mother makes a spoiled child.”
Fang Yi immediately grabbed a handful of Qin Dong’s thigh meat and gave it a vicious twist!
Qin Fengyue was emotional. “There you go flirting again. This house has more than one ‘dog’ (third wheel) in it, you know!”
Husky: “Woof!”
Qin Dong: “…”
Unsurprisingly, Qin Fengyue got a beating.
Night
After the chaos, the Qin family finally returned to peace.
Fang Yi carried a glass of milk downstairs and suddenly laughed.
Qin Dong, wearing an apron, was washing dishes with a dark face. “You can still laugh?”
Fang Yi coughed. “Maybe her differentiation is coming too late, and Yue-yue is just anxious and lost her sense of boundaries… Didn’t they say? Proper stimulation from opposite-sex pheromones might trigger an early differentiation.”
Qin Dong: “Look at her fooling around outside all day! Hasn’t she had enough stimulation?”
Fang Yi: “Other Alphas differentiate at fifteen at the earliest, or sixteen at the latest. She’s almost seventeen… she won’t really have a developmental issue, will she?”
“Enough,” Qin Dong said. “She looks plenty lively to me. The experts say late differentiation is a common phenomenon now. Don’t overthink it.”
Qin Dong continued: “Look at her—flirting and messing around before she’s even differentiated. If she actually does, we’ll have grandkids in no time! Do you want to be a grandma that badly?”
Fang Yi punched Qin Dong lightly. “What are you talking about!”
Qin Dong snorted. “It’s better if she differentiates at eighteen. At least she won’t be tangled up with female classmates before she’s even an adult.”
The phone in his apron pocket buzzed. Qin Dong gestured for Fang Yi to take it out. “Yue-er’s homeroom teacher?”
The couple looked at each other. Fang Yi asked, “Did today’s mess reach the school?”
Qin Dong signaled her to turn on the speakerphone.
Meanwhile…
Upstairs, Qin Fengyue had fallen asleep clutching her phone. There were tear stains on her cheeks, but the corners of her mouth were turned up slightly.
The phone screen cast a dim light, stuck on the “new friend” page from today.
[I’ve been busy until now, just finally got my phone charged. (bitter smile)]
A message notification hung in the bar.
Chu Yang: [There are 365 days in a year, and you are in love for 367 of them. How do you even manage that?]
A while later:
[Old Dog Qin, disaster has struck! In the class group, Liu Mei’s mom used her account to scold you!]
[You’re dead! She’s saying some really nasty things!]
Another while later:
[…Qin Fengyue, from today on, you are the legendary ‘stinking scumbag Alpha’ of United School.]
[Don’t you want to explain? I remember Liu Mei was the one chasing you! Didn’t you already reject her?]
[Qin Fengyue?!]
[Pick up the phone!]
Qin Fengyue rolled over. The phone slid off the duvet and hit the floor, landing right on the power button.
She smacked her lips in her dream, sleeping soundly.
