After Becoming a Scumbag Alpha, the Green Tea Omega is Reborn - Chapter 11
After arriving at the filming location, the crew was still setting up the temporary studio. Yu Li spotted the silver van Sister Zhang had arranged for them. A pretty and cute female Omega hopped out of the vehicle, scanned the area for a moment, and then ran toward them carrying a large backpack.
“Are you Sister Yu Li?” She shook Yu Li’s hand enthusiastically. “You’re even prettier in person than on TV! I’m the new assistant. I’m twenty years old—just call me Lin Lin.”
Yu Li smiled and said hello. Sister Zhang had mentioned that the new assistant would be waiting at the set, but Yu Li hadn’t expected her to be so beautiful. I hope Tao Ran doesn’t misunderstand, she thought.
With that in mind, Yu Li stole a glance at Tao Ran. Lin Lin also looked at Tao Ran and gave a radiant smile.
“You must be Sister Tao Ran! It’s an honor. I was just binge-watching your drama a few days ago,” Lin Lin said, feigning excitement as she shook Tao Ran’s hand.
“Hello,” Tao Ran replied with a polite smile.
Before they could exchange more pleasantries, Lin Lin was called away to collect the sets of costumes the crew had distributed for the leads.
The story took place in the 1980s, so their costumes consisted of loose-fitting blue factory uniforms. Neither Tao Ran nor Yu Li minded; they took the clothes and climbed into the van one after the other.
Lin Lin pulled the door shut obligingly. “The studio isn’t ready yet. The director said you can take your time with hair and makeup. I’ll keep watch for you outside.”
The two sat inside the van. When their eyes met, they both turned away. Their breathing was intentionally suppressed, becoming extremely light and shallow.
It’s just changing clothes, don’t overthink it, Yu Li told herself. She stood up, turning her back to Tao Ran to take off her jacket, but accidentally stepped on a plastic water bottle and stumbled toward Tao Ran’s side.
Tao Ran had already removed her undershirt and was clutching the blue uniform to her chest. She bit her lower lip, glancing at Yu Li with eyes full of bashfulness.
Yu Li caught sight of the faint red scars on her slender arms. Her heart tightened, and she reached out instinctively to touch them.
Tao Ran’s body shivered, and alarm bells rang in her head as memories flooded back.
Back then, Yu Li had been forced to quit the industry precisely because Tao Ran had hired someone to follow her and expose her cheating—and Yu Li’s “rendezvous” point back then had been a van on a film set.
As Yu Li’s fingertips touched Tao Ran’s back, Tao Ran grabbed her hand, her voice trembling involuntarily.
“Do you want to mark me? Here?”
If she said yes, Tao Ran probably wouldn’t refuse. After all, the greater the risk, the greater the reward.
But Yu Li froze for a moment and quickly pulled her hand back. “No, I… I just wanted to say, I’m sorry.”
An ordinary girl would feel terrible seeing such bruises and scars on her body, let alone an actress like Tao Ran. Yu Li had already bought several boxes of the most expensive scar-removal cream and sent them home. Fortunately, they were working; perhaps in a few days, the marks on Tao Ran’s body would fade completely.
She just didn’t know when the scars in her heart would fade.
Yu Li quickly turned around to finish changing. Taking a deep breath, she said, “I will never do that kind of thing again, and I will never force you.”
“It’s okay. If it’s you, you can do whatever you want to me.”
Tao Ran said this, but a contemptuous smirk touched her lips in secret.
I don’t know what her angle is, but I’ll never trust a bastard who forcibly marked me while I was unconscious.
The two finished dressing quickly.
There is an old saying that “clothes make the man,” but in the face of absolute beauty, the clothes themselves hardly matter. When Yu Li and Tao Ran stepped out of the van together, several staff members and extras couldn’t help but stare.
Yu Li was tall and upright; with her blue uniform tucked into black pencil pants and her long legs striding forward, she looked incredibly dashing. Tao Ran had fair skin and a gentle, quiet temperament; leaning toward Yu Li, she looked petite and lovely.
An extra secretly pulled a phone from a pocket and snapped a photo of the pair, clicking their tongue. “Perfect match.”
Lin Lin walked a circle around them, clapping her hands joyfully. “These clothes are a disaster on anyone else, but they look perfectly suited to you two.”
Tao Ran thanked her. In the distance, Director Wang called her from the studio and beckoned. Tao Ran ran over like the wind.
“Sister Yu Li, you should go back into the van and rest. I’ll go get Trinity,” Lin Lin said.
Trinity’s Chinese name was Lin Shen. She was the company’s top stylist and the makeup artist who had worked with Yu Li the longest. The makeup for every one of Yu Li’s roles had to be adjusted by Lin Shen’s hands.
The first scene to be filmed today was the separation of the two leads. Movies aren’t filmed in chronological order; usually, separation or intimacy scenes are filmed first to help the actors immerse themselves in the characters’ emotions as quickly as possible.
Yu Li sat in the van reviewing the script, occasionally looking out at the swarming crowds on set. She felt both nervous and expectant. It had been many years since she had filmed anything; everything today felt vividly familiar.
Will there be a day when I can stand on the same awards stage as Tao Ran openly?
The door slid open. A woman with blonde hair and fair skin poked her head in to greet Yu Li, then turned to crush her cigarette before sitting down. The moment she opened her mouth, the van seemed to fill with the pungent smell of smoke.
She was an Alpha—an Alpha whose pheromones were even stronger than the cigarette smell.
“Sorry,” Lin Shen shrugged. “I know you don’t like the smell of smoke, but… Mount Tai cigarettes are just too fragrant.”
Yu Li rubbed her nose, frowning slightly. “It’s fine.”
Lin Shen leaned in to examine her, also frowning. “You didn’t even put on a base layer today. That’s rare.”
Yu Li, her eyes stinging from the smoke, spoke without thinking. “It looks better without makeup.”
Lin Shen’s hand, holding a makeup brush, paused. “Did I hear that right? Don’t you love heavy makeup?”
Yu Li had thick eyebrows and big, heroic eyes; the company usually tried to give her light makeup to highlight her “cool” and “handsome” look, but the original owner had a habit of going against orders, insisting on heavy eye makeup and bright red lips. If it weren’t for her incredible face carrying the look, she would have lost half her fans long ago.
Yu Li lowered her head and asked hesitantly, “Can I do light makeup?”
Even if the stylist refused, it didn’t matter. Yu Li just didn’t like the feeling of heavy powder on her face.
Lin Shen looked at her with increasing surprise. “Did you finally clear your meridians? How did you suddenly achieve enlightenment?”
How could someone who only did light makeup for half a scene out of ten change so much in a few days?
“Can I?” Yu Li looked at her with bright, pure eyes. “If not, it’s okay. I trust your skills.”
Lin Shen raised an eyebrow. What was with Yu Li today? She was a bit dorky, but also a bit cute.
“Sure,” Lin Shen patted her shoulder with satisfaction. “Keep that mindset up.”
Halfway through the makeup process, Yu Li suddenly asked, “By the way, are you doing Tao Ran’s makeup too?”
Lin Shen froze, then said teasingly, “Did I hear that right? You actually care about Tao Ran?”
“Of course.” Yu Li muttered to herself—of course I care about my own wife.
Lin Shen let out a couple of chuckles. “Marriage really changes a person. Before the wedding, you were swearing to me that if you didn’t go out for ‘wild food’ after getting married, you’d cut out your own gland. And now? You were ‘conquered in bed’ the very first time you marked an Omega?”
Yu Li’s eyes lit up. “What did you say? Are you saying I… I never marked another Omega before?”
