After Becoming a Scumbag Alpha, the Green Tea Omega is Reborn - Chapter 13
Yu Li rushed into a public restroom near the film set and splashed her face with water. Looking at her disheveled reflection in the mirror, she let out a soft sigh.
Once that lethal scent of white musk dissipated, Yu Li felt much better. However, the mere thought of Tao Ran made her heart race again.
It felt as though the girl had been deliberately messing with her earlier, pressing down on that specific spot without letting go. She…
As Yu Li wiped the water droplets from her face, she glanced to the side and saw a napkin being handed to her. Thinking it was Lin Lin, she took it without a second thought, only to hear a gentle, sorrowful voice call her name.
“Yu Li, I…”
Yu Li looked up to see Shi Yi gazing at her with a pitiful, deeply wronged expression.
“Why are you here? How did you get in?” Yu Li instinctively took a step back, glaring at her warily.
“I knew you were in this movie. When the crew was looking for extras, I signed up. I don’t mean anything else; I just wanted to be closer to you.” Shi Yi bit her lower lip, her eyes fixed on Yu Li.
“Thanks for the napkin. I have things to do, so I’ll be going.” Yu Li didn’t want anyone to see them and misunderstand. She tried to hurry away, but Shi Yi stepped to the side, blocking her path.
“I… I haven’t contacted you for seven days. I’ve thought a lot during this time, and I’ve met many people, but I still can’t forget you.”
“I believe I made myself very clear. I don’t think there’s any need for us to be friends.” Yu Li shook the water off her hands and tried to rush past, but Shi Yi grabbed her from behind, hugging her tightly.
“Yu Li, don’t go.”
The strength gap between an Alpha and an Omega was vast. With a slight push, Yu Li sent her stumbling to the side.
Taking a deep breath, Yu Li said coldly, “Shi Yi, stop pestering me. Otherwise, I will have security handle this.”
Shi Yi watched Yu Li’s retreating back, her eyes glinting with a mix of greed and resentment. She didn’t understand what had happened to Yu Li. Before the wedding, the woman had sworn she wouldn’t break up with her, yet less than a day after the marriage, everything had changed.
What kind of skill did Tao Ran have to tame Yu Li so completely overnight? If Tao Ran could do it, why couldn’t she?
It was time to film the supporting characters’ scenes, so Yu Li returned to the set. Lin Lin was sitting in the van swinging her legs; as soon as she saw Yu Li, she ran over with a smile.
“Sister Yu Li, where did you go? I’ve been looking for you forever.”
“Just used the restroom. Where’s Tao Ran?”
Lin Lin stuck her tongue out playfully. “Newlyweds, glued to each other—it really makes everyone else jealous! Sister Tao Ran is over in that van over there, running lines with a friend.”
Following Lin Lin’s finger, Yu Li looked toward a nearby van.
Tao Ran’s friend? In the original novel, Tao Ran didn’t have many friends. Her best friend was a woman named Liu Xia, a Beta who was a fairly well-known manager in the industry.
Yu Li walked toward the van. Sure enough, Tao Ran was sitting across from a woman in a yellow trench coat, both holding scripts. Noticing Yu Li, Tao Ran looked up and gave her a mischievous wink.
“Honey, what are you doing here?”
The fact that Yu Li had almost lost control earlier seemed to have no effect on her at all. Yu Li smiled. “I came to see you.”
Tao Ran sat next to Liu Xia, making room for Yu Li on the opposite seat. She took Liu Xia’s arm and said, “This is Liu Xia, my best friend. Liu Xia, this is…”
“No need for introductions. Who doesn’t know the ‘Top Star of Urban Romance,’ Yu Li?” Liu Xia gave a lopsided grin. It was the smile of a stranger—distant yet polite. However, Yu Li noticed a flicker of genuine distaste in her eyes.
“You flatter me. Miss Liu is…”
Liu Xia didn’t give Yu Li a second glance. She grabbed Tao Ran’s hand and said, “By the way, Ranran, you did well in that scene just now, but I feel like it wasn’t quite there yet.”
“Which line wasn’t right?”
“No, it’s the movement that wasn’t quite right…” Liu Xia leaned closer to Tao Ran, their faces nearly touching as they looked at the same script.
Yu Li was instantly sidelined, unable to find a way into the conversation.
Liu Xia and Tao Ran were incredibly intimate—hugging arms, brushing feet. Tao Ran even fed Liu Xia the remaining chocolate biscuit sticks from her bag. While enjoying the snacks and the beauty’s company, Liu Xia occasionally cast a triumphant glance at Yu Li.
Yu Li’s hand tightened slightly on the leather seat.
“Since you think that part wasn’t good, why don’t we try it again?” As soon as Tao Ran finished speaking, Yu Li finally caught an opening and cut in: “Which part are you discussing? Why don’t you let me see?”
The smile on Liu Xia’s face widened. She slapped her palm down and let out an exaggerated laugh. “Oh right! I totally forgot. We have the ‘mighty and powerful’ Sister Yu Li right here! Why don’t you two perform it for me live?”
“Of course. Which scene?”
Liu Xia turned the script toward Yu Li, smiling as she pointed to a section highlighted in black ink. “It just happens to be the separation scene!”
Yu Li’s expression darkened slightly. The separation scene wasn’t necessarily “hard,” but the emotional fluctuations were huge. It required both leads to highlight the complex feelings of unrequited love. Most importantly, before leaving, the Omega was supposed to give the Alpha a resounding slap.
…Yu Li suspected she was being targeted by Liu Xia.
“Stop it, Xiaxia…” Tao Ran said softly.
“Fine. Let’s do this scene,” Yu Li said, closing the script with feigned ease. She had to rehearse with Tao Ran sooner or later anyway. She might as well get used to the slap now.
Liu Xia raised an eyebrow, propping her chin on her hand. “Great. To make it easy, just do it here in the car.”
Yu Li mentally reviewed the lines. Tao Ran’s eyes shimmered as she gazed at her intently.
“Let’s begin.”
Liu Xia stared at them without blinking, thinking to herself: Finally, an opportunity! Ranran, beat this scumbag girl to death for me!
Both were professional actors and could enter character in a heartbeat. Tao Ran’s eyes brimmed with tears, which spilled over as she parted her lips.
“So, you don’t want me anymore?”
Yu Li suppressed the urge to wipe her tears. Her own eyes grew moist and red. Taking a deep breath, she slowly uttered one word.
“Right.”
“You bastard…” Tao Ran sobbed, shooting her a resentful look before covering her lips with the back of her hand.
“Just go. If you follow her, she’ll treat you well too.”
“You…” Overcome with grief and rage, Tao Ran raised her hand to strike.
Yu Li closed her eyes, but the slap never came. When she opened them, she saw Tao Ran, tears streaming down her face, resting her hand gently against Yu Li’s cheek.
A look of confusion flashed in Yu Li’s eyes. Then, Tao Ran bit her lower lip, cupped Yu Li’s face with both hands, and leaned into her ear. “You bastard… even if I leave, you aren’t allowed to forget me.”
Yu Li’s eyes widened in shock. In the next moment, Tao Ran leaned in and gave Yu Li’s gland a soft bite.
Holy crap, again?! Yu Li jolted, about to push her away, but Tao Ran—as flexible as a beautiful snake—instantly released her and sat back in her seat.
Liu Xia was stunned. Although Tao Ran hadn’t followed the script and slapped Yu Li, their performance was brilliant—even more emotionally charged and moving than the original version.
“Hey, hey, hey! Are you acting or showing off your love? I’m still single; don’t torture the dog like this,” Liu Xia grumbled as she snapped out of it.
“This was a version I thought of on the spot. What do you think? It’s pretty good, right?” Tao Ran blew a kiss to Yu Li.
“It’s… it’s very good. It’s just…” An unnatural flush crept onto Yu Li’s face. She wanted to tell her that she shouldn’t mess with that spot—her gland—but with Liu Xia there, she couldn’t say such a thing in front of an outsider.
“Alright, alright. Stop feeding me dog food, or I’ll get annoyed and bite you both.”
“I’ll leave you two to chat then. I won’t disturb you,” Yu Li said, rubbing the spot where she’d been bitten before getting up to leave.
Once Yu Li was back in her own van, Liu Xia’s face turned stern. She slapped Tao Ran’s thigh. “Couldn’t you see I was trying to help you? Why didn’t you take the chance to give her what she deserves? You should have at least slapped her!”
Tao Ran hugged Liu Xia’s neck and gave her a little shake. “Thanks, my baby Xiaxia. I appreciate the gesture, but I really thought the scene worked better that way.”
“You always have your reasons.” Liu Xia pouted, then spat toward Yu Li’s van. “She looks like a decent person, quite pretty actually, but she’s just a scumbag.”
“Whatever she is…” Tao Ran thought back to Yu Li’s clumsy, anxious expression and gave a subtle smile, saying something deep and meaningful.
“As long as she’s not the original way, it’s fine.”
