After Becoming a Scumbag Alpha, the Green Tea Omega is Reborn - Chapter 4
To Tao Ran’s surprise, Yu Li didn’t lunge at her immediately. Instead, she sat on the edge of the bed and gazed deeply at her.
“You’ve lost weight.”
She had entered the character. Tao Ran cooperated, turning her body away and curling up with her back to Yu Li. “Thanks to you.”
“I heard you were cut in the factory a few days ago. Let me see.”
As Yu Li spoke, she moved to lift the blanket. Tao Ran feigned a few attempts to dodge but couldn’t escape; her moist, almond-shaped eyes watched Yu Li without blinking.
Yu Li lifted the hem of Tao Ran’s short top, her fingers lightly brushing against the “injured” area of her abdomen. The room temperature was just right, but the skin where her fingers pressed felt as though waves of heat were surging through it.
Both of their cheeks flushed slightly. Yu Li looked at Tao Ran, her lips pursed and her eyes shimmering with unshed tears.
“I’m sorry. It was all my fault back then…” A tear fell onto Tao Ran’s belly. Feeling sensitive, Tao Ran twisted her waist slightly and reached up to cup Yu Li’s face, her thumb gently wiping away the hot tear at the corner of Yu Li’s eye.
“If I were going to resent you, I would have done it three years ago. Why wait until now?”
“I came back this time to make it up to you.” Yu Li panted slightly, clutching Tao Ran’s hand. “Are you willing to come with me?”
“You dummy, didn’t I already give you the key card?”
These words acted like a roaring fire hitting dry wood. Yu Li leaned down to kiss her face, their fingers interlocking. She pulled the blanket over both of them. While her hands seemed to be caressing Tao Ran, she was actually just kneading the bedding along the curves of her waist.
Yu Li gently kissed the “scars” on Tao Ran’s arm. Tao Ran dazed for a moment as the rich scent of white musk filled her senses. Her shallow breath melted into the crook of Yu Li’s neck. She turned slightly, her reddened eyes full of timid affection.
It was as if she were saying: I’m willing.
Yu Li suppressed the pounding of her heart and suddenly bit down on Tao Ran’s gland. Tao Ran was so startled she nearly screamed, but she dug her nails into her palms, forcing the cry to turn into a low, sigh-like moan at her lips.
The audition ended, and Director Wang nodded with satisfaction. Having witnessed such a brilliant performance, Producer Gao completely forgot his earlier thoughts of taking advantage of Tao Ran. He hopped off his high stool and clapped vigorously.
Yu Li immediately released Tao Ran, wrapping her tightly in the quilt, and gave the director a somewhat shy smile.
“You both performed excellently,” Director Wang said, beaming. “Go home and wait for the news.”
Yu Li quickly turned to Tao Ran. “Are you okay?”
Tao Ran shook her head and instinctively pulled her coat tighter. She thanked Director Wang, straightened her clothes, and walked out quickly without giving Yu Li a single glance.
Tao Ran ducked into the hotel’s public restroom. Her smooth, flat stomach still carried the residual warmth of Yu Li’s fingertips.
She had expected Yu Li to take full advantage of her during this audition and had prepared herself to cater to her. Yet, Yu Li had been sober and restrained, carefully preventing herself from losing control. The moment Yu Li bit her gland, Tao Ran actually thought she was going to be marked on the spot, losing face in front of the director and producer.
At that moment, Tao Ran had instinctively pressed her hands against Yu Li’s chest, her long nails even sinking into Yu Li’s skin through the thin shirt. But Yu Li hadn’t seemed angry at all; instead, she had repeatedly whispered in her ear.
Don’t be afraid. I won’t hurt you.
It was just an act, but… what on earth was going on?
This woman didn’t seem like the Yu Li she knew.
Tao Ran shook her head, unwilling to dwell on it. She put her hand on the stall door handle, ready to leave, when she heard several women’s voices approaching.
“That woman who just left—her name is Tao Ran, right?” An unknown actress turned on the faucet, the water splashing loudly.
Another actress chimed in, “The one from Little Sweetie. She’s okay-looking, I guess. I don’t know what Yu Li sees in her.”
“They arrived separately and left separately. It’s the first day of their marriage and they’re already like this. Their relationship can’t be that good.”
“Relationship? Yu Li doesn’t care about her at all.” The minor actress applied her lipstick, blew a kiss to the mirror, and said smugly, “Didn’t you notice? Tao Ran’s high heels are fakes.”
Tao Ran’s heart jolted. Trapped in the stall, she looked down at her shoes with a look of humiliation.
“Fake? I didn’t notice. That’s so pathetic.”
“Tell me about it. The knockoffs are so convincing these days, you can’t tell unless you look closely.”
“Being the ‘Mrs. Yu’ is really not worth it…” Suddenly, the women’s laughter stopped. A strange silence filled the air.
“My wife is not for you to critique.” Yu Li stood at the door, glaring coldly at the two women. She said sharply, “If there’s a next time, I won’t be this polite.”
Since they all worked in the industry and Yu Li was currently a red-hot star, they didn’t dare pick a fight. The two actresses exchanged looks and hurried out with their heads bowed in embarrassment.
Yu Li hadn’t expected to hear people badmouthing her wife just by using the restroom. She washed her hands crossly, let out a disdainful huff at the scent of the perfume they left behind.
The stall door clicked open. Yu Li froze as she saw Tao Ran’s devastated expression in the mirror. Her heart twinged.
She was here the whole time? She heard everything?
Somehow, while Yu Li couldn’t remember much of the original owner’s life, she remembered Tao Ran’s details clearly. Tao Ran loved shoes; she particularly enjoyed collecting beautiful footwear. The shoes she was wearing were bought from a friend on WeChat for several tens of thousands of yuan. She loved them.
To find out they were fakes at a moment like this was a heavy blow.
Yu Li peeked at her. Tao Ran took Yu Li’s arm, feigning a relaxed tone. “Honey, thank you for coming to the audition with me today.”
“It’s what I should do. By the way, are you free now?”
Tao Ran thought for a moment. “I don’t have any announcements to film for the next two days.”
In truth, she just wanted to go home and throw away these shoes that had betrayed her feelings.
Yu Li said seriously, “I want to take you somewhere.”
Half an hour later, Tao Ran was surprised to find that Yu Li had brought her to a massive luxury mall, specifically the “Felina” counter—a popular luxury brand.
This was a brand under the Yu family’s conglomerate, and the one the original Yu Li frequented most.
In the original novel, Yu Li became the exclusive spokesperson for Felina. With her superstar status, the brand’s monthly sales skyrocketed, making it a world-renowned name. However, after the Yu family fell, Felina’s sales never recovered.
Yu Li looked around the elegant shop and let out a quiet sigh. The original scumbag Alpha thought she was generous because she often came here to buy clothes for her mistresses, yet she had never given Tao Ran a decent gift.
The sales clerk was new and hadn’t seen Yu Li before. Seeing her in a plain shirt and jeans, without even a nice watch—only her branded shoes seemed worth anything—the clerk also noticed she was wearing sunglasses as if afraid of being recognized.
The clerk immediately pegged Yu Li as a “show-off” trying to impress his wife with money he didn’t have.
Still, remaining polite, the clerk smiled. “Hello, just to let you know, we don’t offer discounts on our clothing.”
The subtext: I don’t think you can afford this.
“I know,” Yu Li nodded calmly.
In her past life, she would have felt guilty just for glancing into a shop like this. But today, she had checked her bank balance…
After checking, her hands had literally trembled from the shock of the amount. She decided the first thing she would do was satisfy her wife.
Yu Li gave the confused Tao Ran a gentle push. “Ranran, buy whatever you like. I’m paying.”
Tao Ran: Is this really happening to me…?!
Tao Ran looked at the unique, exquisite high heels on display, and her eyes lit up. She loved shoes, but in her previous life, she had transmigrated back before she could fulfill her dream of owning a closet full of them.
She didn’t know if Yu Li had hit her head on the way out this morning, but a gift is a gift. Why wouldn’t she be happy?
“Thank you, honey.” Tao Ran gave her a rare smile, and Yu Li couldn’t help but smile back.
Seeing Yu Li’s confidence and sensing her strong Alpha pheromones, the clerk’s attitude changed instantly. She was about to offer them coffee in the VIP room when a trendy woman with heavy makeup walked in.
The clerk recognized her as a regular. “Miss Shi! We have many new autumn bags and shoes that would suit you.”
Shi Yi gave a cold nod. Noticing Yu Li and Tao Ran nearby, she froze, took off her mask, and said, “…Li? Is that you, Li?”
Yu Li and Tao Ran both looked over. The former was confused, while the latter’s eyes widened with rage.
Tao Ran would never forget this woman, Shi Yi. When she was three months pregnant, this woman had come to her door with a pregnant belly of her own to stir up trouble, eventually getting Tao Ran kicked out of the house and forced to beg in the rain.
Thinking of this, Tao Ran shot Yu Li a cold glare. Yu Li, suffering from a bit of “face blindness,” tried desperately to remember this woman but came up blank.
Helpless, she pulled out her phone, looked through her friend list for similar-looking profile pictures, and finally matched the face to the contact “Influencer Shi Yi.”
So this was the one who refused to break up.
“Li…” Shi Yi’s eyes brimmed with tears, looking as though she were the one deeply wronged. “Do you really want to leave me?”
Terrified that Shi Yi would say something to cause a misunderstanding, Yu Li said, “Ranran, go pick out your shoes first. I have something to handle.”
A leopard never changes its spots, Tao Ran cursed inwardly, turning toward the counter. The clerk, sensing a drama about to unfold, quickly stepped aside.
“Shi Yi, I’m sorry about the past. But didn’t we agree? A clean break. Don’t disturb each other anymore.”
“But I can’t forget you. I don’t want your money, I only want you.” Shi Yi wept, her eyes full of resentment.
“I have a wife. I can’t be with you. Please don’t say these things anymore.” Yu Li kept glancing at Tao Ran as she spoke.
Tao Ran had finally smiled at her; she couldn’t let an outsider ruin their slight progress.
Shi Yi wiped her eyes and sniffled. “It’s okay. I don’t ask for much. Just give me a tiny bit of the love you give her. Just a little.”
Yu Li frowned, conflicted. Seeing Shi Yi about to cry again, she sighed. “Fine.”
Shi Yi suppressed a sneer. She knew Yu Li fell for this; as long as she squeezed out a few tears and acted like a “Green Tea,” she could get anything.
She wasn’t stupid. Yu Li was incredibly famous and wealthy now; she wasn’t going to let her go for a few hundred thousand. She would start as a mistress and slowly push Tao Ran out of the way to become the rightful Mrs. Yu.
“Honey, have you chosen?” Yu Li turned back to Tao Ran.
Tao Ran excitedly presented two of the most beautiful pairs of heels. “I want these two.”
Yu Li looked at the shoes and frowned. Tao Ran’s heart sank—Is she regretting it because her mistress is here? The clerk curled her lip—These are the most expensive shoes in the new collection. Is she unable to afford them after all?
Sure enough, Yu Li murmured, “That won’t do.”
Yu Li scanned the entire wall of shoes thoughtfully. Finally, she pointed to the oldest, cheapest pair of discounted shoes and asked Tao Ran, “Do you like these?”
Tao Ran stared in shock. Those shoes were an ugly color and had a weird shape; they were the ugliest pair in the store.
“I…” Tao Ran bit her lip, unable to bring herself to say she liked them. Yu Li wouldn’t buy the two she handpicked, but chose the one she hated most.
Was this… a new way for Yu Li to humiliate her?
“You don’t like them, right? Wrap them up. I’ll take this pair,” Yu Li said.
Shi Yi let out a gloating snicker.
As expected, Tao Ran’s status in the Yu family is pathetic. What are you acting proud for? Yu Li is so rich, yet she only buys you the cheapest, ugliest shoes. I’m the real darling.
The clerk saw Tao Ran’s face turning cold and quickly wrapped the shoes, trying to comfort her. “Don’t be upset, ma’am. These shoes are actually quite nice, they sold well this quarter…”
“Don’t misunderstand,” Yu Li cut in. “My wife doesn’t like these shoes, so they are for you.” She shoved the shoe box into Shi Yi’s hands.
While the three women stood in stunned silence, Yu Li continued to Shi Yi: “Take these shoes and don’t come looking for me again. I’m afraid my wife will misunderstand.”
Then, Yu Li picked up the two pairs Tao Ran had chosen and told the clerk, “These two pairs, plus the other ten pairs of new autumn heels—wrap them all up. I’m buying them for my wife.”
She was serious about spoiling her wife.
