After Becoming a Scumbag Alpha, the Green Tea Omega is Reborn - Chapter 7
Tao Ran took off her black blazer and placed it on a nearby desk. “I wanted to give you a surprise. Did you miss me?”
“This is way too reckless. How did you get in here?” Yu Li was overjoyed, the corners of her lips curling upward. She never expected Tao Ran to make a special trip just to see her.
“Don’t worry about that. Just tell me… did you miss me or not?”
Tao Ran sat on Yu Li’s lap, lifted a water glass, and took a sip. A tiny trickle of water escaped her crimson lips, sliding down to her chin.
Her eyes were like silk. Setting the glass down, she climbed onto Yu Li’s shoulders and pressed her lips against Yu Li’s. The moment they touched, it felt like an electric current surged down Yu Li’s spine.
What Yu Li didn’t know was that at this very moment, a miniature camera sat on the desk nearby, its lens pointed directly at the two of them as they embraced and kissed.
Meanwhile, in the center of Wanhua Plaza, the crowds were watching the incredibly boring advertisement and preparing to disperse. Suddenly, the giant screen went black.
Thinking the show was over, people paused and looked up.
At that moment, the ad copy continued to play on a loop:
“We wish to give our all to present the world’s most beautiful love and inspiration to everyone!”
The next second, the screen suddenly displayed the image of Yu Li and Tao Ran kissing.
Most of the onlookers were young people, and they were left utterly speechless by the sight.
Yu Li passively accepted Tao Ran’s kiss. Her breath was filled with the girl’s fragrance. They kissed until moisture escaped the corners of their mouths and dripped onto Yu Li’s high-end gold dress, leaving behind tiny traces of their intimacy.
It was a shallow kiss lasting less than ten seconds, but to Yu Li, it felt as long as a century. Just as she was catching her breath and preparing to speak, a thunderous roar of cheers and applause erupted from the plaza.
The footage on the screen cut off. The final frame showed Yu Li and Tao Ran embracing and staring into each other’s eyes, as if they had a thousand words to say.
Crucially, the final line of the advertisement played right then: “Felina: Wishing you love and blessings.”
Instantly, the screen shut off. Applause, whistles, shouts, and cheers echoed across the entire sky over Wanhua Plaza.
“OMG, that was incredible!”
“That was legendary! Tao Ran actually showed up!”
“Was it an accident or on purpose?”
“It was obviously planned! Didn’t you see how the footage perfectly matched the ad copy?”
“Holy crap, I am totally shipping this couple!”
Inside the lounge, Yu Li could only hear the waves of cheers outside getting louder and louder. Completely confused about what had happened, she stood up frantically. “Ranran, something seems to have gone wrong outside. Don’t go back yet; I’ll have the assistant check the situation.”
Just as Yu Li finished speaking, the temporary assistant burst in, looking furious. “You… what did you two just do?!”
Tao Ran calmly picked up her blazer from the desk—the very blazer that had been hiding the micro-camera. As she picked it up, she deftly slipped the camera into her pocket.
“What did we do?” Yu Li asked, baffled.
“You…” The assistant was frantic. Before she could elaborate, her phone rang insistently.
Ignoring the two troublemakers in front of her, she hit speakerphone. “Sister Zhang, it’s total chaos out here…”
Forget about the celebrity speech or the exit; the fans had gone so wild they had practically occupied the stage, screaming to see Yu Li and Tao Ran.
However, Sister Zhang was remarkably calm. Her voice was firm and carried a hint of hidden delight. “Don’t go looking for blame, don’t rush, and don’t panic. Everything is within a controllable range. There must be a lot of fans in the plaza; find a way to get them both back safely first.”
The assistant sighed. “Tao Ran, put on your sunglasses and mask. We’re taking you back right now.”
“Why should I wear them?” Tao Ran blinked her beautiful eyes. “Since everyone knows it’s me, I should appear before them openly.”
Thus, the two of them appeared in the public eye side by side, hand in hand. If Wanhua hadn’t deployed every available security guard to maintain order, the fans might have rushed forward to press their heads together.
Yu Li was in her gold evening gown, while Tao Ran was in a plain black suit and trousers. The mismatched outfits somehow looked perfectly natural on them; just standing together was enough to set people’s imaginations wild.
In her off-the-shoulder gown, Yu Li shivered as a cold wind blew and let out a sneeze. Seeing this, Tao Ran immediately took off her blazer and draped it over Yu Li’s shoulders.
Another round of wild cheering erupted.
“Give us a hug! Hug!”
“Kiss again!”
“Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!”
Yu Li’s face was completely flushed. Tao Ran maintained a polite and warm smile while secretly interlacing her fingers with Yu Li’s.
They climbed into the van hand-in-hand and slowly vanished from sight.
Only after the van started moving did Yu Li’s heart finally settle. Tao Ran, looking at the massive crowd of fans surrounding the vehicle, wore a triumphant smile.
“Honey, thank you for today.”
Their hands were still joined. Yu Li looked at Tao Ran with a complicated expression.
Since Sister Zhang’s line was busy, Yu Li checked the Weibo Hot Search herself. When the page loaded, she was stunned.
The video of the Felina “ad” had been recorded by onlookers and uploaded online. What started as a serious fashion ad had transitioned seamlessly—following a soft piece of light music—into the footage of Yu Li and Tao Ran kissing in the lounge. The lighting in the lounge was warm, matching the filter of the preceding ad perfectly, and the dialogue and kiss were timed to the second.
The news of top-tier actresses kissing at a ribbon-cutting ceremony was unprecedented. The search hit number one. Fans of both stars and “shipper” fans exploded. The top comments were all about “saccharine sweetness.”
【Ahhh! This is killing me! I’m dying of sweetness!】
【Explosive! The whole plaza went off!】
【I was there. You have no idea how good they looked walking out hand-in-hand afterward.】
【Tao Ran even took off her coat for Yu Li. My brain has turned to mush from the fluff!】
【Who would have thought a boring ribbon-cutting would turn into the Screaming Night of Wanhua Plaza?】
【Haha, agreed! Residents in the nearby buildings could hear it. I was wondering who was so influential—turns out it was Li-Ran.】
【Where are the haters now? Who was spreading rumors that they were fighting and getting divorced?】
【Exactly! When Yu Li came alone, the haters were fanning the flames. Why are you silent now?】
【Not saying who got slapped in the face, but look whose face is swollen!】
【This move was so slick. I’m converting from a hater to a fan.】
【Hater: (Secretly enjoying the sweetness) Don’t @ me.】
Yu Li scrolled through the comments and watched the video again, her face still full of question marks.
Wait? Was this arranged by the brand? But Sister Zhang didn’t mention they invited Tao Ran.
Was it an accident? But who would put a camera in the lounge?
The temporary assistant in the passenger seat had been on the phone almost non-stop since they got in. She considered herself experienced after managing several divas with bad tempers, but Yu Li was the first one to pull a stunt like this at a major sponsor’s event.
She turned around and looked at them coldly. “Sister Zhang says we won’t investigate who did this for now; we just need to get you home. But you both owe the company and the brand an explanation!”
“We…”
“We know…” Tao Ran cut in. She sounded like a cat that had eaten its fill and was now sunbathing on a balcony—her tone was lazy and sweet.
Yu Li’s gaze lingered on Tao Ran’s tranquil profile for a few seconds.
When they reached the villa area, the driver deliberately circled around twice to lose any paparazzi before pulling up to Yu Li’s door.
Yu Li watched the van drive away, her eyes carrying a deep, meaningful look.
“You…”
“That’s right, I did it,” Tao Ran said, stretching. “I did it on purpose.”
