After Becoming an Alpha, I Became a Charmer (GL) - Chapter 1
Xia Zhiyu felt incredibly hot, as if the air around her was on fire. When she barely managed to open her eyes, hot beads of sweat rolled down her eyelashes and into her eyes, stinging them and making them misty with a thin, red film.
Xia Zhiyu uncomfortably tugged at her collar. Dazed, she heard a sound of rapid breathing beside her, followed by a cool sensation pressing into her body. Before she could let out a sigh of relief, that cool spot became just as fiery as she was. Sweat, breath, scorching heat, and the rich, sweet scent of fruit wine quickly enveloped all her senses.
“Xia Zhiyu, mark me…”
A soft, syrupy female voice whispered in her ear. Xia Zhiyu felt her nape being pressed down. Her lips touched a soft protrusion on a slick patch of skin. The fruit wine scent there was so intoxicating that Xia Zhiyu, lured by the fragrance, began to rub her lips against it unconsciously.
The body in her arms trembled slightly, seemingly with a hint of fear, as its arms tightly wrapped around Xia Zhiyu’s waist. Xia Zhiyu patted the other person to comfort them. Once they relaxed, acting on pure instinct, her fangs pierced the scent gland.
…
When Xia Zhiyu opened her eyes again, she stared at the ceiling for a while, still reeling. The memories of the dream gradually returned, her cheeks flushed, and her eyes grew moist.
She was over twenty years old, and this was her first wet dream. The content was so intense—not only was the other person so proactive, but she, too, acted as if she had taken an aphrodisiac, doing things with the other person that she never would have imagined.
The more Xia Zhiyu thought about it, the redder her face became.
As a single person her entire life, she wouldn’t have a dream like this without a reason.
Yesterday, a friend from online had sent her a private, restricted novel. She went home and finished the first half in one go before falling asleep.
According to her friend, this novel was a treasured “unique copy” written by the author for their own pleasure and never publicly released. Her friend, who knew the author, had a single copy printed for private exchange, and Xia Zhiyu was the first person besides the author and her friend to read it.
Since she had to mail the novel back in three days, Xia Zhiyu didn’t waste any time and finished the first half immediately. While reading, she was surprised to discover a “sea queen” side character who had the exact same name as her.
The “Xia Zhiyu” in the novel was a Beta who tried to use her looks to hook up with Omegas and Betas, becoming a “sea queen” who swam freely in the ocean.
However, “Xia Zhiyu” was too greasy in both her looks and actions. Her bad reputation meant that Omegas knew what she was like behind the scenes. So, no matter how good-looking she was, no Omega wanted anything to do with her.
Undeterred, “Xia Zhiyu” engaged in a series of shocking behaviors that ultimately led her to offend her superior, the novel’s charismatic female lead. As a result, she was killed by the female lead’s suitors in less than ten chapters.
Xia Zhiyu didn’t think much of it at the time. There were many people with the same name in the world, and not everyone’s fate was the same.
Xia Zhiyu zoned out for a moment. When she came to, she realized something was wrong.
Why did she hear the sound of another person breathing in the room?
The breathing sounded very close, right beside her.
Thinking this, Xia Zhiyu turned her head…
“!!!” Xia Zhiyu quickly covered her mouth, her eyes wide. How was there a woman in her bed???
The woman had her back to Xia Zhiyu, her long hair covering half her face and her snow-white shoulders. Xia Zhiyu’s heart pounded in her ears, each beat louder than the last.
Could it be that she wasn’t dreaming, and had really had a passionate night with a woman?
But that didn’t make sense. She clearly remembered being alone at home, with the door securely locked. The only thing she had done before sleeping was read the novel. Where did this woman come from?
As Xia Zhiyu was thinking, her gaze unconsciously lifted and suddenly froze.
Wait, this isn’t her room!
A cold sweat broke out on Xia Zhiyu’s back.
Did she sleepwalk? Or was she brought here by someone with bad intentions to be framed?
Xia Zhiyu’s expression was one of shock and uncertainty, believing she had fallen into some kind of plot.
She forced herself to calm down. The first thing she needed to do was figure out if she knew the woman in the bed.
Xia Zhiyu sat up, and the blanket slid down, revealing that she wasn’t wearing clothes. There were scattered red marks on her body. Seeing these marks, Xia Zhiyu’s mind automatically replayed the passionate scene from the previous night: a woman wasn’t satisfied as she clung to her…
Stop!
Xia Zhiyu touched her now-flushing cheeks, pushing away the distracting thoughts. She turned slightly and raised a hand, trying to brush away the dark hair covering half of the woman’s face.
Her movements were gentle, and the woman was in a deep sleep. Even after Xia Zhiyu moved all the hair away from her face, she didn’t wake up.
Xia Zhiyu let out a soft sigh of relief and shifted her gaze to the exposed half of the woman’s face.
At first glance, Xia Zhiyu was a little amazed, and on closer inspection, she realized how truly beautiful the woman was. Her skin was snow-white, her features delicate, and a small mole beneath the crow-black, upturned lashes of her right eye added a touch of allure to her face. Just this half of a face was enough to make Xia Zhiyu’s heart pound and her cheeks flush.
Xia Zhiyu was certain she had never seen her before. At this point, she felt a bit awkward, unsure how to handle the situation.
She cautiously picked up two articles of clothing from the floor and put them on. To her surprise, they fit perfectly, as if they were her own.
But Xia Zhiyu’s wardrobe was usually devoid of business suits like these. She preferred light and simple clothes, and there were none of her usual clothes on the floor. She had only picked these two items out of necessity.
She thought about calling someone to have a set of clothes delivered, and then asking the woman for her address when she woke up…
Xia Zhiyu stood up and took a single step, and a sudden wave of dizziness hit her. She quickly grabbed the nearby wardrobe for support.
Once the dizziness subsided, Xia Zhiyu looked up and felt even dizzier.
A memory had appeared out of thin air in her mind!
And it wasn’t someone else’s, but the memory of the “Xia Zhiyu” with the same name as her. The gaps in the novel about this tragically-fated side character were all filled in by this memory.
She could even picture the face of the novel’s female lead in her mind. Ha, the female lead looked exactly like the woman in her bed.
However, the smile on Xia Zhiyu’s lips froze.
She suddenly considered a possibility.
Xia Zhiyu’s eyes searched the room, and she quickly found two phones in the corner. She walked over, picked them up, and unlocked one with a fingerprint to check the messages.
After reading through the content of various chat apps, call logs, and text messages, Xia Zhiyu went into the restroom. Standing in front of the mirror, looking at the woman who looked almost exactly like her—save for a new piercing in her left ear—Xia Zhiyu took a deep breath and slowly let it out.
When faced with a problem, the most important thing is to think about how to solve it. Panic, helplessness, and self-pity are completely ineffective ways to vent emotions.
Xia Zhiyu saw the name on the disposable toiletries on the counter and confirmed that it was the same name as the hotel in the “Xia Zhiyu” memory of the banquet. After using these items to quickly wash up, Xia Zhiyu called the nearest store to order two sets of clothes for delivery, then went into the bathroom to take a shower.
After her shower and drying her hair, the person delivering the clothes happened to be ringing the doorbell.
Xia Zhiyu quickly walked to the door and opened it. She smiled at the person outside and said, “Thank you.” Without waiting for a response, she took the clothes and closed the door.
Because her mind was a mess, Xia Zhiyu didn’t notice the surprised look on the person’s face outside as the door closed.
After changing clothes in the living room, Xia Zhiyu mentally prepared herself before entering the bedroom again with the other set of clothes.
In half an hour, it would be the female lead Ruan Wu’s work time. As a rare female lead Omega who would dedicate “everything” to her work, Ruan Wu had never been late for work since her first day.
In her heart, work was above all else. Xia Zhiyu was certain that if she, as the secretary, didn’t wake Ruan Wu up and caused her to be late for work, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Xia Zhiyu believed that no one in the world understood the cold heart beneath the female lead’s beautiful exterior better than she did.
Ruan Wu must have been truly exhausted from the previous night, as she was still fast asleep. Xia Zhiyu walked over to her side, bent down, and called out softly, “Ms. Ruan.”
Ruan Wu didn’t react. Xia Zhiyu raised her voice, but Ruan Wu still didn’t respond, not even frowning.
Time was running out, and Xia Zhiyu had no choice but to gently push Ruan Wu’s shoulder.
Ruan Wu’s crow-black, curled lashes fluttered slightly, and her beautiful, obsidian-like eyes slowly opened.
