Xia Zhiyu was pulled into Ruan Wu’s bedroom, and the scent of her pheromones made her heart pound with excitement.

Ruan Wu, like her, hadn’t had time to change out of her gown. In her white dress, she looked up at Xia Zhiyu with an expression that was both innocent and seductive.

Xia Zhiyu was involuntarily drawn to her pink lips. Her heart pounded loudly in her ears. “Do you need to fulfill the contract right now?”

While her heart was racing from Ruan Wu’s pheromones and her highly appealing looks, she recalled the contents of the contract. She remembered Ruan Wu saying it had to be the same as their first time.

Xia Zhiyu’s cheeks were flushed. She turned her head slightly, exposing her swan-like neck to Ruan Wu.

Ruan Wu stared at the patch of pale skin in front of her, with faint blue veins beneath. She struggled to resist Xia Zhiyu’s allure and also turned her face away to try and breathe in air that wasn’t saturated with Xia Zhiyu’s pheromones. However, Xia Zhiyu’s pheromones and her own were already intertwined, filling the entire room.

Unexpectedly absorbing more pheromones, Ruan Wu felt her body weaken slightly.

Xia Zhiyu supported her waist. “Are you okay?”

“I’m not okay.” Ruan Wu glared at her, which Xia Zhiyu mistakenly perceived as seduction.

Ruan Wu raised her hand, intending to press down on Xia Zhiyu’s nape and bite her scent gland, just like last time. However, before her hand could touch Xia Zhiyu, it was caught by Xia Zhiyu mid-air.

“Ruan Wu, please help me with my zipper first…” Xia Zhiyu’s voice was low and husky as she fought against the waves of heat in her body.

Ruan Wu’s hand was placed on the zipper of the gown behind her. Ruan Wu, not even sure what she was doing, instinctively stood on her toes and pulled down Xia Zhiyu’s zipper.

“Ruan Wu, I’m going to start now. Don’t be afraid.”

“Mm…”

The night was hot and long. When Ruan Wu woke up in the morning, she immediately realized that a warm body was lying next to her.

The memories of the previous night instantly flooded her mind. Her face flushed completely as she recalled what happened.

I specifically told myself not to be seduced by Xia Zhiyu. How did just helping her with a zipper lead to this?

Although she initiated most of what happened after the zipper was open, Xia Zhiyu wasn’t entirely blameless. How could she ask me to help her with her zipper at a time like that?

Xia Zhiyu opened her eyes. Ruan Wu was already dressed after washing up.

“Good morning, Ms. Ruan~” Naturally, Xia Zhiyu’s tone was somewhat flirtatious when greeting the person she had spent the night with.

Ruan Wu froze.

She had planned to confront Xia Zhiyu, but now she suddenly found it difficult to speak.

“Mhm.” She quickly finished dressing and stood up to leave.

Xia Zhiyu was surprised. “Ms. Ruan, where are you going so early? I’ll go with you.” She started to get up and put on her clothes.

“Stop.” Ruan Wu turned and frowned, stopping her. “I’m going to deal with Zhou Chong and Xie Li. Don’t follow me. I have something to say to you when I get back.”

Just as Xia Zhiyu opened her mouth to speak, Ruan Wu quickly added, “Zhao Ze and the other one are there, along with the police and the resort staff. I’m perfectly safe.”

Xia Zhiyu: “…Have a safe trip, Ms. Ruan.” Anyone who didn’t know would think I was the Omega and Ruan Wu was the Alpha.

After Ruan Wu left, Xia Zhiyu lay back in bed for a while, reflecting on her performance last night. She wondered if Ruan Wu was satisfied.

She should be, right? After all, I did everything the same as the first time, and Ruan Wu seemed very excited and proactive.

She wondered what Ruan Wu wanted to discuss when she returned. Praise? A bonus?

Ruan Wu handled things quickly. She dealt with the situation and had the police take the men away in less than half an hour.

The rest of the matter didn’t even require Xia Zhiyu or Yu Qingyi to appear; surveillance footage was enough.

Returning to the courtyard, Ruan Wu told the two bodyguards to eat breakfast, after which they could take the rest of the day off.

The day was still a free activity day. Ruan Wu didn’t want to go anywhere. Since she wasn’t leaving the courtyard, she didn’t need the bodyguards’ protection.

After entering the courtyard, Ruan Wu stood outside for a moment, adjusting her mental state before pushing open the door to the room.

Xia Zhiyu’s camp bed was in the living room, but she had only slept in it for one night.

Ruan Wu quickly glanced around the living room, then turned and pushed open the bedroom door.

Ruan Wu assumed Xia Zhiyu would have already washed up and changed, but when she walked in, she found Xia Zhiyu still lying in bed, chatting with someone on her phone, her fingers flying quickly across the screen.

She was so engrossed that she was even smiling and didn’t realize Ruan Wu had returned.

“Secretary Xia,” Ruan Wu called out, her face cold.

Her intention was to give Xia Zhiyu a warning, to make her realize her mistake. However, when Xia Zhiyu’s gaze shifted from her phone screen to Ruan Wu’s face, her eyes suddenly lit up with surprise.

“Ms. Ruan, you’re back!” Xia Zhiyu said happily.

She sat up in bed, and the blanket suddenly slid down. Ruan Wu swallowed the words she was about to say and instantly turned her back to Xia Zhiyu. “Don’t say anything yet. Put your clothes on first.”

Xia Zhiyu hadn’t expected Ruan Wu to react so strongly. She chuckled. “Ms. Ruan, we’ve seen each other naked twice now. You don’t need to be shy.” She was so bold and actively touched me in bed, but now she’s acting all reserved when we’re out of bed.

“Shut up, and put on your clothes.”

Ruan Wu’s ears were beet red. The “scene” she had just caught kept replaying in her mind.

Xia Zhiyu finally stopped talking. Ruan Wu heard rustling sounds behind her. When the sounds stopped, she immediately asked, “Are you dressed?”

“Yes, I’m dressed.”

The voice came from very close behind her. Ruan Wu’s heart jumped. She clenched her hands and turned around, her beautiful face strained with coldness as she met Xia Zhiyu’s amused gaze.

The words Ruan Wu had suppressed for so long died in her throat under Xia Zhiyu’s expectant eyes.

Xia Zhiyu just loves me too much. I can’t return that love, and I still need her pheromones. I shouldn’t be too harsh on her.

However, what happened last night had to be made clear. The first time and the second time were both accidents; there absolutely couldn’t be a third time.

Ruan Wu pursed her lips. “I want to talk to you about last night.”

Xia Zhiyu’s eyes lit up. Did I perform so well that she’s going to give me a raise? “Yes, Ms. Ruan. Go ahead.”

Ruan Wu felt a little awkward meeting Xia Zhiyu’s gaze. She averted her eyes toward the window and said, “I can overlook the contract violation from last night. After all, I bear some responsibility. However, I hope you can control yourself next time. Otherwise, I will have no choice but to charge you the contract penalty.”

Xia Zhiyu: “???” I violated the contract?

Xia Zhiyu remained silent for a long time. Ruan Wu had already started to imagine her crying in sadness. She couldn’t help but look at Xia Zhiyu, only to see no trace of sadness on her face, just pure confusion.

“Ms. Ruan, I’m just going over the details of last night…” The two looked at each other. “I didn’t find any part where I violated the contract. I don’t understand what kind of violation you’re referring to?”

“You think you didn’t violate it?” Ruan Wu was immediately annoyed. “You slept with me, and you say you didn’t violate the contract?”

Xia Zhiyu was still confused. “Slept with you? Didn’t you touch me first yesterday, Ms. Ruan? When we signed the contract, you told me that every time after that should be the same as the first time. The first time, I also slept with you, and the contract doesn’t say anything about not sleeping together.”

Ruan Wu finally realized the massive misunderstanding. Because the contract couldn’t be leaked, they had used a separate name when signing. They used work as a reason to prohibit Xia Zhiyu from dating, and of course, something like sleeping together couldn’t be explicitly written in the contract.

Come to think of it, her original statement was indeed ambiguous.

This time, before Ruan Wu could finish making excuses for Xia Zhiyu in her mind, Xia Zhiyu voluntarily took two steps back, putting distance between them. She looked remorseful. “I’m sorry, Ms. Ruan. I misunderstood your meaning before. I sincerely apologize. I promise that next time, I absolutely will not touch you again.”

Xia Zhiyu felt a wave of post-facto fear. How could I make such a mistake? I’m so lucky Ruan Wu is kind enough to forgive me twice.

Last night was like a fleeting dream, a false paradise. Xia Zhiyu ignored the faint disappointment in her heart and simply resolved to be more thoughtful and careful in her words and actions in the future.

Ruan Wu had spoken with Xia Zhiyu precisely to hear this assurance. Yet, now that she heard it, she felt completely unsatisfied, even a little stifled.

Ruan Wu attributed her strange feelings to guilt over hurting someone who loved her deeply.

“Mhm. You can go now. I need to work.”
