After Breaking Up with the Scumbag Girl, I Became an Alpha [Entertainment Circle] (GL) - Chapter 7
Zhong Yan joined the school dance club. Originally, they were against Zhong Yan joining, but Xu Wuhuan’s gaze looked like she could eat someone alive, and everyone timidly retracted their refusal.
They hadn’t had much confidence in Zhong Yan’s dance skills, but when they discovered she was actually quite talented, they slowly accepted her.
Zhong Yan and Xu Wuhuan were both happy. However, where there is happiness, there is also sorrow, and the sorrow belonged to Wen Yi, who was also in the dance club.
Every time she saw Xu Wuhuan waiting for Zhong Yan outside the dance studio, smiling and chatting, Wen Yi’s hatred for Zhong Yan escalated. Some malicious idea began to slowly ferment.
Xu Wuhuan had been spending more and more time with Zhong Yan recently. Yuan Lai seemed to be making progress with Cheng Yan and was looking for Xu Wuhuan less often, so Xu Wuhuan was with Zhong Yan almost the entire day.
Xu Wuhuan’s heart contained a wilderness. Sparks had landed on it, and she only waited for the wind to come so a blaze could spread.
Zhong Yan’s boldness when dancing, her curved-eye smile, and her increasing dependence and clinginess all became invisible hooks, pulling out the deep affection hidden in Xu Wuhuan’s heart. Hidden desire simmered in Xu Wuhuan’s eyes, an unstoppable force like a wolf closing in on its prey.
The wind blew across the wilderness, the fire spread, love fiercely erupted, and the situation was set.
She was like a hunter, planning a trap step by step.
She pretended to casually ask Zhong Yan what kind of confession was romantic.
Zhong Yan had just finished practicing. The weather had turned cold, and Zhong Yan was wearing a thin practice dress. During their break, Xu Wuhuan wrapped her own jacket around her. The dance studio was mostly empty, and Zhong Yan lay comfortably on Xu Wuhuan’s lap.
When she heard the question, her eyes lit up. “It definitely needs romantic lighting! That creates a beautiful atmosphere.”
As she spoke, her expression was very lively, with red lips and white teeth. A monstrous emotion stirred restlessly in Xu Wuhuan’s heart.
She began to plan a certain scheme.
She chose a day during evening self-study, dismissed class early, and told Zhong Yan to meet her at the beach after school, as she had something for her.
Though confused, Zhong Yan agreed.
After school, Zhong Yan went to the beach alone. The wind was strong, and the moonlit tide surged in layers.
Xu Wuhuan stood on the sand, bathed in moonlight. Since the weather had turned cold, Liu Xiaoguang hadn’t strictly enforced the uniform. Xu Wuhuan was wearing a mid-length black trench coat, black jeans, and combat boots.
Her back was to Zhong Yan. In the darkness, her figure appeared tall, slender, and lonely. Her shoulder-length hair was messy from the wind. Zhong Yan’s heart inexplicably pounded. She called out Xu Wuhuan’s name.
Xu Wuhuan turned around, gave her a soft smile, and walked toward her Yan Yan step by step. Zhong Yan felt a wave of inexplicable nervousness.
“Why are you wearing so little?” Xu Wuhuan touched Zhong Yan’s cold, wind-chilled face. Zhong Yan was wearing a red hoodie today and had forgotten her jacket.
Xu Wuhuan took off her own coat and put it on Zhong Yan. Zhong Yan tried to refuse, but Xu Wuhuan insisted forcefully.
While straightening the collar, Xu Wuhuan’s face was very close to Zhong Yan’s—so close that in the moonlight, she could see Xu Wuhuan’s long, thick eyelashes, her elegant nose bridge, and her vermillion lips.
Zhong Yan’s heart hammered like a drum. She had no idea why Xu Wuhuan had called her here.
After adjusting the collar, Xu Wuhuan gazed into Zhong Yan’s eyes and smiled faintly. “Yan Yan, do you know what I’m going to give you?”
Zhong Yan shook her head blankly.
Xu Wuhuan chuckled softly, leaning close to her ear, her voice carrying a clear, girlish huskiness. “I’m going to give you—the romance you want.”
Zhong Yan didn’t understand what she was saying, when Xu Wuhuan snapped her fingers. Suddenly, a brilliant array of lights appeared on the beach, forming a circle that surrounded them. The lights were constantly shifting, dazzling colors.
A few seconds later, the lights on the beach transformed into fireworks. They were enveloped in the mesmerizing pyrotechnics, the light illuminating Zhong Yan’s stunned eyes.
She was completely bewildered. All reason had left her brain, leaving a blank slate. Her heart felt like it was going to leap out of her throat.
Xu Wuhuan’s voice whispered in her ear: “A few days ago, the moon gave me a dream. It said that those who harbor a secret crush are as lonely as she is. I felt that way too. But then I realized, if you like me too, I won’t be lonely anymore. If you like me, you will be my personal moon, and loneliness will cease to exist.”
Xu Wuhuan stroked her face, using a seductive tone. “Yan Yan, I’m afraid of being lonely. Will you stay with me? Please don’t make me become the moon.”
Zhong Yan was stunned for a long time before she realized that Xu Wuhuan was confessing to her. She was so shocked she could barely speak. “I… I’m a Beta.”
“What does that matter? I like you, the person, not your gender. Love itself is free; there are no restrictions.”
Zhong Yan blinked frantically. She had no idea what to say. This was the first time she had been confessed to, and by an Alpha no less. This was completely unexpected.
Facing Xu Wuhuan’s direct gaze, she couldn’t bring herself to refuse. She wasn’t even sure if she liked Xu Wuhuan, but regardless, her mind was a mess right now.
It was too sudden. She hadn’t had time to process it.
The atmosphere was awkward and tense. Silent solemnity filled the wind.
Xu Wuhuan guessed her thoughts and retreated strategically. “You don’t have to give me an answer right away. I’ll give you time, but remember, I won’t back down.”
Xu Wuhuan’s eyes in the dark were piercing and hot, as if she intended to burn Zhong Yan with her desire.
Even lying in bed that night, Zhong Yan was still in shock, tossing and turning, unable to sleep.
She truly didn’t know if she liked Xu Wuhuan. Xu Wuhuan was very special to her, an important presence, but was it the presence of love? She had always assumed she would end up with a Beta, not an Alpha. In everyone’s subconscious, Alphas and Omegas were well-matched partners.
She had never considered that an Alpha would one day like her. She had lived within the self-imposed rules of her seventeen years, following the established order within that framework. Suddenly, someone was brutally trying to tear that framework apart. She had never been pursued like this, so she was starting to panic and feel helpless. Her mind was a chaotic mess, and she couldn’t sort anything out.
Argh! Zhong Yan roared internally, restlessly pounding her head. I can’t figure it out.
The next day, when Zhong Yan sat down in her seat, Xu Wuhuan immediately looked at her and smiled, making Zhong Yan even more awkward. She was terrified that Xu Wuhuan would ask if she had made up her mind. Fortunately, Xu Wuhuan didn’t pressure her.
Xu Wuhuan took a beautifully packaged box out of her desk and handed it to her, waiting with a knowing smile for her reaction.
“…Is this for me?” Zhong Yan pointed to herself hesitantly.
“Who else?” Xu Wuhuan placed it in her hands. “You like desserts, don’t you? I specially bought this early this morning.”
Zhong Yan saw the box’s logo. She knew the shop; it was very famous, and the desserts were excellent. Zhong Yan loved that place, but it was very far away, so Zhong Yan usually only went during holidays.
Did Xu Wuhuan specially buy this for her early this morning? Zhong Yan’s heart stirred. Feeling awkward, she wanted to return it.
Xu Wuhuan immediately refused. “I don’t like desserts. If you don’t eat it, just throw it away.”
Zhong Yan naturally couldn’t throw it away. The dessert felt like a hot potato—she couldn’t accept it, but she couldn’t refuse it either.
“You… you don’t have to do this.”
Xu Wuhuan said uncaringly, “It’s fine. I want to.”
Xu Wuhuan’s eyes sparkled as she raised her eyebrows, making Zhong Yan’s eyelids flutter and leaving her speechless.
Afterward, Xu Wuhuan brought her various desserts almost every day. She told her more than once that she didn’t need to do this, but Xu Wuhuan continued her persistent actions. Zhong Yan’s mental state unconsciously began to shift, and the rigid rules she had held onto were starting to crumble.
The third class in the afternoon was Physical Education. Zhong Yan was frantically searching for something, but under the persistent urging of the sports committee member, she had no choice but to go downstairs.
The P.E. teacher, a tall man named Chen Wen, was especially strict and placed great importance on discipline. He did not allow anyone to be late, or they would have to run an extra three laps. The school track was very large, and running two laps was exhausting, so most people dared not slack off.
But when the sports committee member took attendance today, one person was missing. Chen Wen’s face immediately darkened. “Who’s missing?”
Someone said, “Xu Wuhuan.”
The moment the words left their mouth, Xu Wuhuan hurried over.
Chen Wen’s face was grim. “Xu Wuhuan, you’ll run three extra laps later.”
Xu Wuhuan showed no reaction, saying a simple “Mhm” and returning to the formation.
“Where did you go?” Yuan Lai whispered next to her.
Xu Wuhuan blinked. “I had something urgent to do.”
Yuan Lai pouted. “What kind of emergency makes you dare to be late for P.E.? Is running three laps fun?”
After the entire class finished their run, Xu Wuhuan ran three laps alone on the track. Zhong Yan watched her running figure from the sidelines. She had tied her hair in a high ponytail today and wore a black hoodie. As she ran, she looked effortlessly unrestrained, as if she had the wind at her back.
Yuan Lai accompanied her for a while but was sent away by Xu Wuhuan to go find Cheng Yan. A joke—she was going to find Zhong Yan.
Zhong Yan was watching others play ball on the side of the track. She was alone, which suited Xu Wuhuan perfectly.
She walked up to Zhong Yan. Zhong Yan had already known Xu Wuhuan would come looking for her—it was a strange feeling.
“Where did you go just now?” Zhong Yan kept a slight distance from her. She didn’t dare to be too clingy to Xu Wuhuan right now; it was too awkward.
Xu Wuhuan saw through her thoughts and proactively put her arm around Zhong Yan’s shoulder, as she usually did. Zhong Yan visibly flinched.
Xu Wuhuan teased, “I was thinking about you, and I got so lost in thought that my brain went blank.”
Zhong Yan: “…”
Her ear tips turned red. She whispered, “Can you speak properly?”
Xu Wuhuan curved her lips and smiled. She stopped teasing her and took a string of black prayer beads out of her pocket, placing them in her palm before offering them to Zhong Yan.
Zhong Yan stared at the beads for a while, looking up at her blankly.
Xu Wuhuan touched her head with her other hand. “Weren’t you looking for this just now?”
“Ah… yes,” Zhong Yan stammered. She hesitated, a little disbelieving. “…So, you were late just now because you were looking for this?”
“What else? Who would be so foolish as to be late for P.E.?”
It would be a lie to say she wasn’t touched. These prayer beads were specially requested by her mother when she was pregnant with her, and they were the only thing she had from her mother—they were very important.
And she wasn’t without feelings. Xu Wuhuan’s passion was gentle yet intense, a fiery ardor that was subtly breaking down her hesitant and weak stance, threatening to devour her with an inescapable force.
Something was about to spill out when something dropped from above.
Then, she saw Xu Wuhuan’s hair soaked with a red liquid, dripping down. Even Xu Wuhuan’s eyelashes were wet.
“Oops, my hand slipped.”
The voice was gloating, completely devoid of guilt. Zhong Yan looked up and saw the girl who had been badly beaten by Xu Wuhuan that night—Wan Xing.
Xu Wuhuan slowly wiped the liquid from her face, lifted her eyelids, and looked at Wan Xing.
Wan Xing stood on the grandstand railing, looking down at her, her expression provocative.
Xu Wuhuan smiled, a cold, empty sound, and spat out two words:
“Trash.”
