After Differentiating into an O, Pampered by an A - Chapter 3
They were inches apart.
The heat of Ye Xing’s breath, laden with a thick scent of pheromones, sprayed entirely against the crook of Shen Yushu’s neck.
Perhaps because Shen Yushu’s body temperature was lower, Ye Xing nuzzled into her embrace like a kitten, greedily seeking more of that coolness.
“Ugh… it hurts so much…” Ye Xing pouted her red lips, murmuring under her breath. Crystal-like tears hung from her long, thick lashes, trembling as if they might fall at any moment—she looked utterly pitiful.
However, Shen Yushu’s face was incredibly grim.
To have endured up to this point, Shen Yushu felt she had been patient enough. She had never seen an Alpha who loved to cry this much during their rut.
“Ye Xing, get up before I lose my manners with you!” Shen Yushu’s voice was soft, but she enunciated every word with a chilling, natural authority.
Yet Ye Xing seemed to have fallen into a deep stupor. She was completely oblivious, sprawled across Shen Yushu’s chest like a small child.
“Madwoman!” Shen Yushu finally lost all patience. She grabbed Ye Xing by the shoulders and moved her aside as effortlessly as if she were picking up a little chick.
She brushed off the non-existent dust from her clothes and prepared to leave. Picking up her jacket from the floor, Shen Yushu looked at it with disdain. She hesitated on whether to wear it, but remembered her assistant was coming to pick her up, so she tossed it onto a chair in the entryway.
The moment she pulled the door open, a mocking voice called out.
“Oh! If it isn’t the eldest Miss Shen, President Shen herself. What? You’re up here playing too?”
Shen Yushu looked up and came face-to-face with the person walking down the hallway.
It was Shang Qing, an Alpha and the second daughter of the Shang family. She was decked out in Chanel haute couture and had a standard V-shaped face. Though her features were attractive, her high cheekbones gave off a cold, unapproachable vibe.
At the moment, Shang Qing was cradling a tipsy Omega in her arms, her hand resting on the woman’s curvaceous hip. The woman was flushed, clinging to her like an octopus. It was an extremely suggestive scene.
Shen Yushu acted as though she hadn’t seen them and prepared to close the door.
Shang Qing suddenly let go of the Omega and handed the woman a room card. “Be good, go wash up in the room and wait for me.” She then took two steps toward Shen Yushu. Her gaze swept over the door behind Shen Yushu with an ambiguous smile.
“What, is President Shen hiding a treasure in her room? Don’t be stingy; it’s not like I have to compete with you for everything.”
It was public knowledge in Jiangcheng that Shang Qing and Shen Yushu didn’t get along. Currently, both were competing for the development rights of the “South Factory” land plot. The Shen family hadn’t secured it yet precisely because the Shang family had been engaging in malicious competition by constantly lowering their bids.
Since Shang Qing brought it up, Shen Yushu naturally had no kind expression for her. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, her red lips curving into a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “President Shang, what a coincidence.”
Her voice was icy, causing the temperature in the hallway to plummet.
They said Shen Yushu was Jiangcheng’s number one Alpha not just because of her beauty, but because as the head of the Shen Group, she was decisive and possessed deep foresight. Among the many wealthy families in Jiangcheng, Shang Qing was the only one brave enough to snatch business from Shen Yushu—mainly because she couldn’t stand Shen Yushu’s aloof, “above-it-all” attitude.
But Shang Qing never expected to catch the famously clean-living Shen Yushu opening a room with someone.
As if knowing what Shang Qing was thinking, Shen Yushu stepped forward to block her view. “President Shang, haven’t you heard that curiosity killed the cat? Mind the business that’s yours to mind.”
“You…” Shang Qing was buzzed from the alcohol and wanted to snap back.
Just then, the door behind her opened. The Omega from before leaned against the doorframe in a bathrobe, looking sexy and enchanting as she released a thick wave of pheromones. “President Shang, why haven’t you come in yet?”
Shen Yushu immediately covered her nose with her finger in disgust, wanting no part of it.
The beauty’s call was calculated, and Shang Qing felt the itch of desire. She couldn’t be bothered to waste more breath on Shen Yushu, so she turned and hugged the woman back into the room to get down to business.
“Why is it so noisy out here?”
Suddenly, a lazy, sleepy voice drifted out.
Before Shang Qing could turn around, the Omega in her arms suddenly went weak in the knees, her voice becoming even more flirtatious. “Alpha pheromones… ah, such a delicious milky scent!”
Still holding the woman, Shang Qing turned back to find the source of the scent. With one look, she saw Ye Xing standing in the doorway.
Shang Qing’s eyes widened in shock. “Holy crap, Shen Yushu, you actually like playing with Alphas?!”
She admitted she was curious. Rumor had it in Jiangcheng that even a top-tier Omega couldn’t necessarily catch Shen Yushu’s eye. She was too ascetic, focused only on work, and seemed naturally uninterested in Omegas.
In this second, Shang Qing understood. It wasn’t that she wasn’t interested in a partner—it just wasn’t Omegas she wanted.
Like she had discovered a monumental secret, a glint of cunning flashed in Shang Qing’s eyes. She quickly dragged her dazed Omega back into her room.
Meanwhile, Ye Xing stood there with a flushed face and a look of total confusion. “Sister, I…”
“Get back inside!” Shen Yushu barked.
Ye Xing: “…”
Shen Yushu turned around, her eyes filled with a chilling frost. When Ye Xing met those cold eyes, her nerves—which had been driven wild by the pheromones—instantly snapped back to attention.
Ding—
The elevator opened. A man dressed as a manager arrived just in time with a doctor and nurse wearing protective gear. Before Ye Xing could react, she was escorted back into the room.
“President Shen, sorry for the trouble. Your assistant just arrived downstairs; I’ll see you down. We will look after Miss Ye here.” The manager bowed respectfully to Shen Yushu.
Shen Yushu gave Ye Xing a cold, indifferent glance. Behind her, the nurse was helping Ye Xing back onto the sofa in the entryway to perform a basic check-up, while the doctor pulled out an inhibitor for injection.
Seeing that things were finally settled, Shen Yushu let out a breath of relief, though her expression remained as cold as ever.
“Yes, it was quite a lot of trouble.” With that, Shen Yushu left without looking back, no longer caring about the person or the events in that room. “Tell your CEO Kong that for today’s matter, she can use this bar as her way of saying thanks!”
Seeing that Shen Yushu was genuinely angry, the manager pressed the elevator button and lowered his head even more. “CEO Kong is lucky to have a loyal friend like President Shen. Smoke must be rising from the Kong family’s ancestral graves (meaning they are incredibly lucky)…”
Manager: “…”
Shen Yushu left those words behind and exited the elevator, running right into Sun Xi, who had arrived in a hurry. Sun Xi was a Beta, fairly pretty with expressive eyes and a knack for reading the room.
The moment she saw Shen Yushu, she stepped forward. “President Shen, I’m sorry I’m late—” She sounded remorseful and anxious.
When they finished work today, Shen Yushu said she had private plans, so Sun Xi had gone on a date with her boyfriend. She had just finished eating when she got the call to pick someone up. Shen Yushu didn’t answer her return call, so she had to call the bar’s front desk to learn the gist of what happened.
She had followed Shen Yushu for three years. Seeing her boss coming downstairs with such a dark expression, Sun Xi knew Shen Yushu was a volcano on the verge of erupting.
Sun Xi handed over a clean jacket draped over her wrist and reminded her softly, “President Shen, there are reporters outside.”
“Reporters?” Shen Yushu’s gaze swept over the manager behind her.
The manager’s face froze. He waved his hands and said, “President Shen, we locked down the news. The PR department is already handling it.”
Shen Yushu wanted to say something, but seeing they were currently leaderless, she let it go. Having an irresponsible friend like Kong Zhen meant she had to suffer the consequences too.
Because of the South Factory land project, Shen Yushu didn’t want to give the media any free headlines. She looked at Sun Xi. “Let’s leave through the back door.”
With that, the two vanished from JY Bar one after the other.
Sun Xi opened the car door. Shen Yushu sat in the passenger seat, pulled out her phone with an expressionless face, and typed rapidly. Two seconds later, she held up a photo of a stunning face.
Shen Yushu looked at Sun Xi and said in a cool tone, “Assistant Sun, starting tomorrow, I don’t want to hear the name ‘Ye Xing’ in Jiangcheng ever again. Also, keep a close eye on Shang Qing. No matter what method you use, the Shen Group must win the South Factory project.”
“Understood!”
Outside, sunlight filtered through the sheer curtains, casting dappled shadows on the carpet.
[Pretty Alpha doesn’t work tomorrow, feeling great, so comfortable! Pretty Alpha doesn’t work tomorrow, I’ll be as lazy as I want…]
The phone rang frantically on the nightstand. Ye Xing huddle on the bed like a caterpillar, only wriggling after a long time.
The phone bombarded her again, accompanied by a loud “Bang! Bang! Bang!” at the door. Ye Xing’s body was sore and her mind was filled with irritation. She rubbed her eyes and drifted to the door like a ghost.
The moment the door opened, Ding Ling, standing outside, let out a massive sigh of relief. The next second, she pushed Ye Xing back into the room and slammed the door shut.
Ye Xing was startled. “Who even are you?”
Looking at Ye Xing, Ding Ling realized she wasn’t even sober yet. She regretted not watching over her yesterday, letting her go out and play herself to death.
Full of frustration at her perceived failure, she sighed repeatedly. “My big star! You’re still sleeping here? Do you have any idea that the world has turned upside down outside?”
As soon as Ding Ling spoke, the familiar voice and tone made Ye Xing realize—this was the original host’s manager.
Ye Xing rubbed her swollen neck and yawned. “Sister Ding, why are you here?”
Seeing Ye Xing like this made Ding Ling even more anxious. She pulled up today’s hot search rankings and shoved the screen in front of Ye Xing’s face.
“See for yourself. From now on, are you going back to the countryside to plant crops or to herd cattle?”

Ye Xing blinked her clear eyes. It took her a good while to process it, and then everything that happened last night came rushing back. A feeling of “morning-after” regret washed over her.
“Holy crap… and here I thought the female lead was full of ‘universal love.’ Turns out I’m still just cannon fodder!”
Ye Xing slumped on the sofa, absorbing the massive influx of information. In the original story, the host had no power or influence and was killed by Shen Yushu. Now she had transmigrated and barely managed to save her own life, only to end up in Shen Yushu’s hands anyway?
Is a protagonist’s halo really that amazing?!
Ye Xing felt indignant. A sense of conviction and determination to rewrite her fate welled up within her.
“I asked what you’re dazed for! Who on earth did you offend?” Ding Ling asked urgently.
Ye Xing pursed her lips, her eyes resolute. She gritted her teeth and spat out three words:
“Shen! Yu! Shu!”
Ding Ling: “…”
The air in the room suddenly went silent.
“Th-that… Ye Xing, I think you should just go back to the countryside and farm.”
