After Differentiation, I Marked My Arch-nemesis - Chapter 6
Early the next morning, Jiang Youli left her house with her backpack, feeling refreshed.
Just then, Li Henian suddenly called out to her. “Dingding.”
Jiang Dingding was Jiang Youli’s nickname.
Li Henian had given her that nickname on the day she was born, telling her it was because he thought the name was very cute.
Jiang Youli turned to look at Li Henian. “What is it, Little Dad?”
“Your dad is coming back from his business trip to Haicheng this afternoon,” Li Henian said, looking at Jiang Youli. “Come home early from school this afternoon and don’t wander around.”
“What?” Jiang Youli was disappointed. “Dad is coming back so soon?”
Li Henian laughed. “He’s been on a business trip for half a month. Is that still soon?”
“Ugh,” Jiang Youli said, deflating like a balloon. “Fine, fine.”
With Jiang Xiyuan back, she wouldn’t be able to run wild with her friends. She turned to her new bike, which Li Henian had bought for her last night, and waved glumly. “Little Dad, I’m leaving. You should go back inside.”
Li Henian said, “Be safe on the way.”
“I know!” Jiang Youli said.
With that, she hopped on her bike and sped off.
Just as she rode out of her yard, she ran into Lu Yaoyi pushing her bike out of her own yard, with Lu Meishan walking behind her. Jiang Youli’s attention was immediately drawn to Lu Yaoyi’s new bike. It was also pink.
She nonchalantly rode over and stopped, propping her feet on the ground.
Then, she smiled and greeted Lu Meishan very politely, completely unlike her usual arrogant and overbearing self at school. Although she didn’t particularly like Lu Yaoyi, she really liked Lu Meishan. Lu Meishan was the gentlest Omega she had ever met, even gentler than her Little Dad, Li Henian.
“Auntie Lu, good morning.”
Lu Meishan smiled gently and nodded. “Good morning, Dingding.”
Jiang Youli looked at Lu Yaoyi. “Morning, Lu Yaoyi.”
She was putting on a convincing show.
Lu Yaoyi met Jiang Youli’s gaze with a blank expression. “Morning.”
“Dingding,” Lu Meishan suddenly said, “you got a new bike, too?”
“Yes, Auntie Lu,” Jiang Youli replied. “My old bike’s tire was punctured by a nail, so I didn’t want it anymore and got a new one.”
“Oh, I see,” Lu Meishan said.
She said earnestly, “Yaoyao’s bike was stolen yesterday because she forgot to lock it at the store. You two need to be more careful when you’re out shopping.”
Hearing this, Jiang Youli gave Lu Yaoyi a meaningful look.
Although Lu Yaoyi hadn’t said it outright, Jiang Youli knew perfectly well that Lu Yaoyi knew she was the one who took the two wheels off her bike. However, she was surprised that Lu Yaoyi would lie and say her bike was “stolen from the store because she forgot to lock it.”
For all these years, no matter how much she bullied Lu Yaoyi, Lu Yaoyi never told her parents or her dad. Shouldn’t a normal person who gets bullied complain to their teachers and parents? Especially since they were neighbors. Sometimes, Jiang Youli truly didn’t understand what Lu Yaoyi was thinking.
Who cares.
Bullying Lu Yaoyi was the only joy in her otherwise boring school life.
“Okay,” Jiang Youli said with a smile. “Auntie Lu, I’ll definitely be more careful.”
Lu Meishan nodded, satisfied. “Good.”
Jiang Youli gripped her handlebars and put her foot on the pedal. “Auntie Lu, a friend is waiting for me to go shopping at the supermarket, so I’m going to head out first.”
No one was actually waiting for her to go shopping. She just wanted to find an excuse to leave so she didn’t have to walk with Lu Yaoyi.
“Okay, you go on,” Lu Meishan said. “Be safe on the road.”
“Bye, Auntie Lu,” Jiang Youli said.
She then glanced at Lu Yaoyi. “I’m leaving now.”
Lu Yaoyi ignored her.
Jiang Youli was speechless.
She just quietly rode away on her bike.
As the girl’s carefree figure disappeared into the distance, Lu Meishan turned her attention back to Lu Yaoyi. “Yaoyao, is your heat coming soon?”
Lu Yaoyi thought for a moment. “Yes.”
Her heat would be starting around next week.
So she had to be extra careful recently.
Lu Meishan took a step forward and reached out to move the hair on Lu Yaoyi’s shoulder, checking if she had a scent-blocking patch on. The scent gland on the back of Lu Yaoyi’s neck was covered tightly with a patch. “Did you bring your suppressants and your scent blocker?”
“I did,” Lu Yaoyi said.
Because she was an S-class Omega, her pheromones were very potent. Even with suppressants, they weren’t enough to fully suppress her heat. And since she had only recently differentiated into an Omega, she couldn’t yet control the pheromones her gland released. So she wore a scent-blocking patch on her gland every day and carried suppressants and a special Omega scent blocker in her bag, just in case.
The special Omega scent blocker could be sprayed on an Omega’s body and the surrounding area to dissolve the pheromones released from their glands into the air. This prevented the Omega’s pheromones from accidentally dispersing in public and disrupting public order.
Otherwise, any Alpha who smelled her pheromones would be catalyzed into a heat.
Almost no Alpha could withstand her pheromones, not even the most elite S-class Alphas. In fact, S-class Alphas were more easily tempted by her pheromones.
Lu Meishan was relieved. “Good, it’s good that you have it.”
Time flew by, and soon it was the last self-study period of the afternoon.
Jiang Youli wanted to sneak out and skip the self-study period, but Tan Yushan was sitting on the podium and showed no signs of leaving. So, she had no choice but to stay in the classroom and secretly play on her phone. Chen Huaian was slumped in his chair, keeping an eye on Tan Yushan for her.
After some time, Chen Huaian leaned over to Jiang Youli and whispered, “Boss.”
Jiang Youli was playing a game. “What is it?”
“I think Old Tan knows we left early yesterday afternoon,” Chen Huaian said thoughtfully. “That’s why he’s purposely staying in the classroom today and not leaving.”
“Who cares?” Jiang Youli said. “I don’t believe he’ll sit in the classroom every day.”
“Mhm,” Chen Huaian said. “The boss is right.”
Soon, the bell rang loudly, signaling the end of the last self-study period and the end of the school day.
The classroom suddenly became noisy.
Jiang Youli casually shoved a few books into her backpack, ready to go home.
The other students in the class also started packing their bags.
If Tan Yushan were not sitting on the podium, they would have finished packing before the bell rang. Those who were impatient for school to end would have had their backpacks ready and left the moment the bell rang.
Jiang Youli packing her bag to go home was just for show. She never did her homework.
She zipped up her backpack and put it on one shoulder.
“Boss,” Chen Huaian suddenly said, “the boss from Jiangda High School has invited us to a karaoke party. I heard there are some super pretty Omegas and some beautiful Alphas. Are you interested in coming with me to have some fun?”
“Let’s go,” Jiang Youli answered without hesitation. “Of course, we’re going.”
She was just going for fun, not for any pretty Omegas or beautiful Alphas.
She immediately added, “I’m bad at everything else, but having fun is my specialty.”
“Fun…” Chen Huaian said.
He thought Jiang Youli meant “messing with” people. He looked at Jiang Youli and said, “Boss, do you prefer messing with Alphas or Omegas?”
“Huaian,” Jiang Youli said, “you’re so old-fashioned.”
She played along with Chen Huaian’s joke. “Of course, I like to mess with both Alphas and Omegas.”
Just as she finished speaking, someone stomped hard on her right foot.
She immediately twisted her face in pain, watching as Lu Yaoyi walked past her, creating a gust of wind. She bent down, grabbing her right foot, and yelled at Lu Yaoyi’s back. “Lu Yaoyi, are you crazy?! Why did you step on my foot?!”
Lu Yaoyi seemed not to have heard and walked out the back door with Jin Rubing.
Chen Huaian was a little at a loss. “Boss…”
Lu Yaoyi disappeared through the classroom door without looking back.
“Damn it!” Jiang Youli winced in pain. “She’s a lunatic!”
Lu Yaoyi usually walked home with Jin Rubing, but they would part ways on ChunJing Road to go home. The area where Lu Yaoyi’s house was located was full of villas. Although it wasn’t a gated community, the environment was nice, and the transportation was convenient, so the property values were among the highest in Jiangcheng. People who lived here were all wealthy.
Every time she walked from the main street to her house, she rarely saw anyone. However, today, someone suddenly came out of an alley and blocked her path.
It was the Alpha who wanted to give her a love letter after school yesterday.
She had no choice but to stop her bike.
She looked at the Alpha blocking her way with a cold expression, a strong sense of disgust suddenly rising in her. Besides Jiang Youli, she didn’t like to be close to anyone, nor did she like anyone getting close to her. She usually only socialized with Omegas she was familiar with.
She turned her handlebars slightly, wanting to ride past the Alpha.
But the Alpha grabbed the handlebars of her bike. “Lu Yaoyi.”
Lu Yaoyi stared at the hand on her handlebars. “Let go.”
Her voice was icy cold.
She really hated it when people touched her things.
The Alpha had no choice but to let go. “I have something I want to talk to you about.”
Lu Yaoyi looked at the Alpha coldly.
The Alpha said, “I want to know if you and Jiang Youli…”
Lu Yaoyi didn’t even acknowledge him.
She pushed her bike and walked right past the Alpha.
“Did Jiang Youli force you?” the Alpha yelled at Lu Yaoyi’s back, his voice full of rage. “That scumbag Jiang Youli will get what’s coming to her!”
Hearing this, Lu Yaoyi suddenly stopped.
She turned around and looked at the Alpha with cold eyes. “I did it willingly.”
The Alpha’s eyes widened in shock as he looked at Lu Yaoyi. “Wh… what?”
Lu Yaoyi said, “She didn’t force me. I went with her willingly.”
“You… you did it willingly?” The Alpha’s face instantly turned pale as if he had been dealt a huge blow. “Wh… why would you do it willingly? Do… do you like Jiang Youli?”
Lu Yaoyi said, “Yes.”
The Alpha suddenly roared in anger. “That’s impossible! How could you possibly like Jiang Youli? Isn’t Jiang Youli going to differentiate into an Omega?”
“Even if she’s an Omega,” Lu Yaoyi said, “I only like her.”
“No!” the Alpha yelled, losing control. “You’re supposed to like an Alpha!”
“Lu Yaoyi, you’re supposed to like Alphas like me!”
With that said, Lu Yaoyi didn’t want to get into any more trouble with this Alpha. If he hadn’t maliciously attacked Jiang Youli, she wouldn’t have even looked at him, let alone stood here wasting her breath on him.
She turned and rode her bike away.
The Alpha stood there, watching Lu Yaoyi’s figure fade into the distance.
His eyes were dim and filled with rage.
For the past two days, the rumors that Jiang Youli had sexually harassed and forced herself on Lu Yaoyi were already unbearable for him. Now, Lu Yaoyi was actually telling him she liked Jiang Youli? How could such a beautiful and precious S-class Omega like Lu Yaoyi like Jiang Youli? It would just be a waste of an S-class Omega.
He couldn’t accept it. He absolutely couldn’t accept it!
He had liked Lu Yaoyi for so long, and she had never given him a second glance. How could that undifferentiated scumbag Beta Jiang Youli get Lu Yaoyi’s affection? He absolutely would not allow Lu Yaoyi to degrade herself.
The one Lu Yaoyi should like was an Alpha like him.
Lu Yaoyi should like him.
He looked at Lu Yaoyi’s back and clenched his fists. “Lu Yaoyi, you can only be my Omega. Today, I’m going to make you an Omega who belongs only to me.”
Lu Yaoyi was riding her bike when she suddenly felt a gust of a rotten, wet dirt-like smell behind her.
It frantically stimulated her scent gland.
