After Ditching Four Powerful Alphas, I Differentiated into an Omega - Chapter 10
Lu Shangyi’s lips tightened, and her expression gradually grew darker. Qiao Yu had her arm wrapped around her waist, holding her in a forceful embrace. In the confined space, the subtle, pleasant fragrance from Qiao Yu’s hair unexpectedly wafted into her nose, stirring a deep, long-suppressed desire within her.
The air was filled with the unpleasant smell of the medication. Qiao Yu almost gagged. She looked at Lu Shangyi, perplexed, and her gaze finally landed on the discarded syringe in the trash can. Lu Shangyi instinctively clenched her fists, and the air around her turned icy.
Qiao Yu stared at the syringe for a moment before looking up, bewildered. “What is that?”
“What did you inject yourself with?” Although she didn’t know what it was, it couldn’t be anything good, or Lu Shangyi wouldn’t look like she had just been fished out of the water.
Qiao Yu’s heart ached. She quickly took out a tissue and gently wiped the cold sweat from Lu Shangyi’s face. “Didn’t I already give you my phone number? Why didn’t you just call me?”
The young girl’s voice was sweet and naive, her tone soft, but full of concern and heartache. Lu Shangyi was a little dazed, but her face remained tense. “It’s none of your business.”
Qiao Yu pouted unhappily and couldn’t help but threaten her fiercely. “Sister Lu, don’t forget you’re in my hands right now.”
“If you don’t listen, I’ll kiss you until you can’t show your face to anyone.”
Lu Shangyi had probably never met such a brazen little troublemaker and was temporarily silenced. Qiao Yu gently tucked her sweaty hair behind her ear. Lu Shangyi’s sharp gaze turned, and Qiao Yu almost shivered. She quickly tried to justify herself. “I’m just helping you wipe off the sweat.”
“How else are you going to go out looking like this?”
“People who don’t know any better will think I’m the one who did this to you.”
Although Qiao Yu was eager to be in a relationship, she couldn’t let her reputation be ruined so easily before marriage. She still had her pride.
Lu Shangyi watched her without moving. Qiao Yu was cautious, her movements as gentle as possible. Although Lu Shangyi sensed no malice from Qiao Yu, her tense body still didn’t relax. After Qiao Yu threw away a soaked tissue, Lu Shangyi said in a weak voice, “Take me out of here.”
Qiao Yu smiled brightly, her brown eyes sparkling. “Okay.”
Lu Shangyi had no strength in her body and was unsteady on her feet. Qiao Yu tried to support her, but the height difference between them was too big, making the scene quite comical.
Qiao Yu could see that Lu Shangyi wanted to leave as soon as possible, but Lu Shangyi’s legs were twice as long as hers. One of her steps was equivalent to two of Qiao Yu’s. Even though Qiao Yu was trying her best to keep up with her short legs, she was still falling behind. Qiao Yu had to keep up a tiny jog while holding onto Lu Shangyi’s clothes. “Sister Lu, please slow down. I can’t keep up.”
Suddenly, Lu Shangyi lost her balance, and her entire weight fell onto Qiao Yu. Qiao Yu’s legs gave out, and she almost fell to her knees.
The commotion caught the attention of passersby. Some stared at Lu Shangyi’s weak expression and politely went up to her and asked, “Miss, are you okay?”
Another one trying to play hero and get Lu Shangyi’s attention?
No way. I’m the only living Lei Feng in this world! Qiao Yu glared fiercely. “Thanks, she’s perfectly fine.”
Without waiting for their reactions, Qiao Yu frantically dragged Lu Shangyi out of the mall.
The noise downstairs caught Lu Shenghui’s attention. Lu Shenghui looked down at his watch and his brow furrowed almost imperceptibly. “Why hasn’t Shangyi come out yet?”
With that, he was about to get up and look for her. The people with him quickly explained, “She should be out soon.”
“It probably takes time for Miss Lu to touch up her makeup.”
Lu Shenghui’s expression was unreadable. The others held their breath and didn’t dare say anything else. Everyone knew that Lu Shenghui was very protective of his sister. Some even said that Lu Shangyi didn’t go out much because Lu Shenghui had been keeping her at home to prevent her from ever trying to take over the family business.
Lu Shangyi was so outstanding that even her differentiation into an Omega couldn’t put Lu Shenghui’s mind at ease.
The people with him couldn’t help but feel pity. If it hadn’t been for the car accident that made her body so weak, Lu Shangyi wouldn’t be so passive and powerless in front of her own brother.
Lu Shenghui patiently waited for another minute. He kept looking in the direction of the restroom, but no one came out. By his calculation, Lu Shangyi had been out of his sight for a full five minutes.
Five minutes was more than enough time for Lu Shangyi to do a lot of things.
A wave of frustration washed over him. Lu Shenghui was about to get up when someone rushed over, a panicked look on their face. “Mr. Lu, your sister was just forcibly abducted by that hooligan heiress from the Qiao family in broad daylight!”
Qiao Yu let out a huge sneeze. After closing the car door, Qiao Yu looked at the taxi driver in the front. “To Jingxi Manor.”
The car shot out like an arrow from a bow. When Lu Shenghui ran out, Lu Shangyi was long gone. His face turned darker than the bottom of a wok. Lu Shenghui picked up his phone, his expression icy. “Mr. Qiao, I think you owe me an explanation for how your precious daughter just forcibly abducted my sister in public.”
Qiao Jinghuai was stunned. “Yu Yu kidnapped Miss Lu?”
What kind of joke is this?! His precious daughter was the most well-behaved and adorable girl. How could she do something so outrageous?
Before he could hang up, his secretary rushed into the office. “Mr. Qiao, in broad daylight, Miss Qiao has compromised Miss Lu Shangyi’s reputation!”
Qiao Jinghuai almost choked. “…”
The words he was about to use to counter Lu Shenghui caught in his throat. Qiao Jinghuai tried to calm his temper. “If this is true, I’ll give you an explanation after I’ve verified it.”
Qiao Yu had no idea that the story was getting more and more exaggerated. Looking at how uncomfortable Lu Shangyi was getting, she couldn’t help but ask, “Sister Lu, are you in your heat cycle?”
But the medication she had smelled earlier didn’t smell like an inhibitor.
She quickly contacted the Qiao family doctor, but Lu Shangyi put a hand on her phone and stopped her. “No need.”
“What do you mean, ‘no need’?” Qiao Yu frowned in disagreement. “You’re this weak! I won’t let you give up on yourself like this.”
She took Lu Shangyi’s hand off the phone and held it in her own. “I’ve already arranged for a doctor to be waiting for you at my house.”
Lu Shangyi glanced at Qiao Yu’s hand, which was taking advantage of the situation, and wanted to push her away. But the other person was as clingy as a piece of plaster. Lu Shangyi was exhausted and didn’t have the energy to deal with it anymore, so she let her be. She closed her eyes weakly, a little frustrated.
Qiao Yu first secretly glanced at Lu Shangyi, who had her eyes closed. Seeing that she didn’t react, she started to look at her openly. Her gaze went over her delicate face, then her deep, picturesque eyes, and finally, it stopped on her sweet, cherry-like lips. Compared to the aggressive and dominating Song Wanying, Lu Shangyi’s beauty was fragile.
Even her pale face couldn’t hide her stunning beauty. Her feigned strength and underlying frailty made people want to protect her even more.
Qiao Yu’s gaze became more and more intense, more and more direct. Lu Shangyi felt the chaotic gaze on her. Her pale lips twitched. She opened her eyes, her tone carrying an emotion that made Qiao Yu inexplicably nervous. “Had enough of looking?”
Qiao Yu immediately put on a naive and innocent expression.
Qiao Yu wasn’t stupid. She could naturally hear the danger in Lu Shangyi’s words. She quickly shook her head, but then realizing her mistake, she immediately nodded. “Yes, I’ve had enough.”
But Lu Shangyi, who was usually so poised and dignified, was no longer. Her tall frame leaned over, a sense of oppression radiating from her. Qiao Yu’s hairs stood on end.
She panicked and immediately tried to get away.
But the car door was locked, and the seat was behind her. There was nowhere to run.
Qiao Yu’s heart pounded uncontrollably. She was instantly parched. And the hand that was taking advantage of Lu Shangyi was now gripped tightly by Lu Shangyi herself. Lu Shangyi even went a step further, wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her into a tight embrace. They were pressed together, skin to skin.
Lu Shangyi’s white shirt was spotless, and her jacket was perfectly ironed, giving her the appearance of a gentleman.
Qiao Yu was instantly captivated by the cool, ascetic vibe of the old-fashioned woman. She wanted to push her away, but she also hesitated.
As they got closer, Qiao Yu smelled Lu Shangyi’s original scent beneath the lingering scent of the medication. It was like gardenias, refreshing and sweet. The fragrance wrapped around her senses, making her heart churn as if a blender were spinning inside her chest.
Lu Shangyi stared intently at her. “You know what a heat cycle Omega will do when they lose their senses.”
The air was instantly filled with a thick, ambiguous tension. Qiao Yu saw the driver looking back at them in the rearview mirror several times. Her face turned so red it looked like it was about to drip blood. “I know.”
She said in a voice as faint as a mosquito. She tried to push Lu Shangyi away, but Lu Shangyi easily grabbed both of her hands. “With my body, even if I’m weak, it’s easy for me to handle you.”
Qiao Yu knew what she meant. Lu Shangyi’s arms were like steel, trapping her so she couldn’t move.
Qiao Yu knew that an Omega in their heat cycle would lose control and hunt by instinct. She didn’t know what kind of earth-shattering things Lu Shangyi would do once she lost consciousness, but since they were in a taxi, she didn’t want to risk it.
Qiao Yu pitifully hugged Lu Shangyi’s arm, and she decisively chose to apologize. “I’m sorry, Sister Lu. I know I was wrong.”
Lu Shangyi’s gaze fell on Qiao Yu’s small hands, so thin that they looked like they could be snapped with a twist. Her eyes darkened, and she finally let go of Qiao Yu and sat back down elegantly.
Qiao Yu didn’t dare to breathe. After a long moment, she finally let out a small breath.
Qiao Yu felt deeply wronged. “Shouldn’t I be the capital’s number one badass Alpha? Why is a weak and helpless Omega like Lu Shangyi stronger than me?”
How will I ever be on top now?
The system tried to comfort her. “You haven’t differentiated yet, Host. Once you do, Lu Shangyi won’t be able to beat you.”
“That makes sense.”
Qiao Yu frowned. “But… getting dominated by a frail Omega feels kind of nice!”
“I love it!”
