After Ditching Four Powerful Alphas, I Differentiated into an Omega - Chapter 11
“She’s truly worthy of my admiration. Even her forceful taking of an innocent person is so charming!”
Qiao Yu couldn’t resist another couple of sneaky glances at Lu Shangyi. When Lu Shangyi turned to look at her, she quickly turned her head away, pretending to be very interested in the scenery outside the window. Thankfully, Lu Shangyi didn’t lean over in the same domineering way she had earlier. Qiao Yu breathed a sigh of relief, but she couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed. “What a shame.”
The system: “…”
It felt that ever since its host realized she couldn’t go back, she had gotten bolder every day. If she were to accidentally get herself killed one day, would it be a distortion of human nature or a moral failing?
Jingxi Manor was in an excellent location, quiet yet close to the bustling city. It only took half an hour to get there from the city center. Qiao Yu eagerly got out of the car to help Lu Shangyi, but Lu Shangyi avoided her hand. She looked up at the golden namu plaque of the Qiao family manor, her expression unreadable.
Qiao Yu followed her gaze and straightened her back. “The only thing our family lacks is a lack of money.”
Lu Shangyi remained emotionless and didn’t react. Qiao Yu then hinted, “My dad has prepared a full five million in cash, ten buildings, and twenty sports cars as a dowry for my future wife.” Qiao Yu was very fond of her rich and generous father. “I wonder which lucky Omega will get to receive these gifts.”
“When I get married, I’ll hand over all my salary and credit cards. My wife only needs to give me a small allowance every week.”
Lu Shangyi finally reacted, but she asked about something else. “Are you very close to Song Wanying?”
Qiao Yu’s heart immediately skipped a beat. Is she already getting jealous? She quickly shook her head and denied it. “No, we’re not.” She paused, then guiltily nodded. “We’re okay.”
Afraid that Lu Shangyi would misunderstand, she quickly explained, “But that’s only because a good friend of mine really likes her, so I’ve been trying to help her win over Sister Song.”
Lu Shangyi was skeptical. Is she helping a friend, or is she helping herself?
She’s so young and hasn’t even differentiated yet, but she’s already wanting more than she has. What would she be like after she differentiates into an Alpha? She’d turn the whole capital upside down.
“Chu Mi, the actress competing with Song Wanying,” Lu Shangyi said, lowering her gaze, a hint of an indescribable meaning in her eyes, “is an artist from my company.”
What?
Qiao Yu was dumbfounded for a moment. Chu Mi? She’s an artist from Lu Shangyi’s company? Qiao Yu’s eyes widened. So, to please Jiang Mei and Song Wanying, I specifically asked Tang Shu to steal Chu Mi’s endorsement and deliberately offend Lu Shangyi?!
Oh my god! Didn’t I just get myself into big trouble?!
Qiao Yu was filled with regret, but she wanted to make one last attempt to save herself. But Lu Shangyi had already walked into the house. Qiao Yu followed her dejectedly and asked the system, “How can such a mix-up happen in this world?”
“Oh, I forgot,” Qiao Yu stopped. “The fact that you and I are stuck here and can’t go back is already the most unbelievable and ridiculous thing in the world.”
The system felt like it had been shot in the knee. “Host, I’m trying my best to find a way to get us home.”
Qiao Yu immediately scoffed. “You better be.”
The family doctor was already waiting in the side hall. When she saw Lu Shangyi, a look of surprise flashed in her eyes, but it quickly faded, and her expression returned to a calm one. Qiao Yu quickly seized the opportunity to show goodwill. “Sister Lu is not feeling well. Sister, please take a look at her for me.”
The doctor nodded and was about to approach, but Lu Shangyi’s gaze was cold. The doctor subconsciously looked at Qiao Yu. Qiao Yu, mustering her courage, grabbed Lu Shangyi’s wrist. “The doctor is very skilled. She’s especially good at treating all sorts of difficult Omega illnesses…”
Before she could finish, Lu Shangyi had already refused. “No need. I’m fine now.”
She looked as if she wouldn’t allow anyone to examine her, no matter what. Qiao Yu thought she was afraid of pain, needles, or medicine, so she patiently tried to coax her. “Sister Lu, ignoring an illness…”
As she was talking, Lu Shangyi suddenly shot her a cold glance. Qiao Yu unknowingly changed her words. “Well, I guess it’s not a big deal.”
Lu Shangyi was in a much better state than before. Since she didn’t want to see a doctor, Qiao Yu didn’t dare to force her and just sent the doctor away. After seeing the doctor out, Qiao Yu turned back. “Sister, are you often this uncomfortable?”
Qiao Yu’s heart ached. Being an Omega is so tough.
Lu Shangyi didn’t respond, but her brows furrowed almost imperceptibly. In the past, the medication would last for a full month, but now, the duration was getting shorter and shorter. She even worried that one day, the medication would suddenly stop working.
Lu Shangyi’s gaze was dark. Qiao Yu thought she had accidentally touched on a painful subject and made her unhappy. She quickly changed the subject. “Sister Lu, if you’re not feeling well, why don’t you stay at my house for a few days?”
“Don’t worry, this house is all mine. My parents will never step foot on my property under normal circumstances.” Qiao Yu pointed to the side. “Their house is right next door.”
The pheromones in Lu Shangyi’s body were still in turmoil. Worried that Lu Shenghui would notice something was wrong, Lu Shangyi went with the flow and agreed. “Thank you.”
Qiao Yu was overjoyed. She busied herself getting new clothes and helping her wash up. Lu Shangyi’s clothes were soaked with sweat and couldn’t be used anymore. Although most of Qiao Yu’s clothes were small, the housekeeper had prepared a few sets of men’s clothes in different sizes. Lu Shangyi put them on, and they fit perfectly.
Qiao Jinghuai drove home at the fastest speed possible. He pushed open the iron gate and saw his daughter on the sofa, playing on her phone. He immediately raised his hand to slap her. “You rebellious daughter!”
Qiao Yu reacted quickly and dodged Qiao Jinghuai’s attack. She glared at him, a look of indignation on her face. “Old man, you have no honor. You’re trying to sneak-attack me at your age!”
Qiao Jinghuai’s eyes almost rolled back from anger, but he had no time to bicker with his daughter. Qiao Jinghuai tried to calm himself. “I’m asking you, in broad daylight, did you force a kidnapping on Miss Lu Shangyi in the mall in front of everyone and bring her to your house?”
Qiao Jinghuai couldn’t help but look around. His gaze, by chance, fell on a pair of high heels that were clearly not Qiao Yu’s size.
His blood pressure immediately spiked. Qiao Jinghuai’s finger trembled as he pointed at her. “You, you, you’re not even an adult yet! How can your mind be filled with such filth every day?!”
The more Qiao Yu listened, the more she felt something was wrong. She quickly swatted away her father’s trembling hand. “What are you talking about?”
She thought for a moment, then reacted with a vengeance. “What nonsense are you spouting? Don’t you dare ruin my reputation as an honest person!” Qiao Yu put her hands on her hips. “I was clearly being a good Samaritan, seeing that Sister Lu wasn’t feeling well and kindly taking her home.”
Qiao Yu said angrily, “Who is it that’s spreading these false rumors and slandering me? If I find them, I’m going to scratch their face off!”
Qiao Jinghuai gave a cold laugh. “Kindly taking her home?”
“And you just happened to take her to your own home?”
“Well…” Seeing that Qiao Jinghuai’s expression wasn’t good, Qiao Yu lost her confidence. But she still tried to justify herself. “Even though I had ulterior motives, I never had any intention of doing anything to her. If you don’t believe me, ask Sister Lu yourself after she comes out from her shower.”
Qiao Jinghuai looked up. Lu Shangyi’s gaze passed over Qiao Yu, and her red lips curled into a slight smile. Qiao Yu immediately had a bad feeling.
Sure enough, she heard Lu Shangyi say slowly, “In the car earlier…”
Qiao Jinghuai’s heart immediately raced. He was already mentally calculating how much it would cost to calm the Lu family’s anger.
“She touched my hand.”
“You dared to take advantage of her?!” How can you take advantage of a girl from the Lu family?
Realizing she couldn’t explain herself, Qiao Yu quickly slipped away. Qiao Jinghuai was furious. He quickly apologized to Lu Shangyi. “Miss Lu, I’m so sorry. My daughter is young and playful. If she has offended you in any way, I hope you can be the bigger person and not hold it against her.”
Lu Shangyi wrapped her clothes around herself. “Mr. Qiao, you’ve misunderstood. She really did help me today.”
“However, there’s one thing I don’t understand.” Lu Shangyi’s expression was calm. “Is Qiao Yu getting close to Song Wanying… the Qiao family’s idea?”
Qiao Jinghuai’s vision went black. Song Wanying? She’s an Alpha with top-tier genes! Why would Qiao Yu, a minor, go anywhere near her? He didn’t want to become a grandfather while he was still in his prime.
“No, no, you’ve misunderstood. Our Qiao family has no such intentions.” Qiao Jinghuai quickly distanced himself. “My daughter is just too bold and gets into trouble everywhere. But Miss Lu, don’t worry. When she gets back, I’ll make sure to teach her a good lesson. She won’t cause you any more trouble.”
“I’ll send someone to take you home. Young Master Lu is very worried about you.”
Lu Shangyi, however, didn’t want to leave. “Qiao Yu just asked me to stay for a few days.”
“I accepted. I feel safe with her.”
Qiao Jinghuai’s face was filled with bitterness. You feel safe, but I’ll be on pins and needles every night now.
But Qiao Jinghuai couldn’t just kick her out. Qiao Yu, who was secretly hiding behind a pillar and had been watching for a long time, was very confused. What did Sister Lu say to my dad? She cautiously walked out. “Dad, you look a lot more mature now than you did a minute ago.”
Qiao Jinghuai thought his daughter was going to compliment him and asked, full of anticipation, “Oh? How so?”
“You look a full twenty years older than you did a minute ago.”
Qiao Jinghuai: “…”
Qiao Jinghuai suddenly didn’t want to have anything to do with his daughter anymore. He picked up his briefcase, put on his shoes, and was about to leave when he heard Qiao Yu’s clear voice from behind him.
“Dad, I’m helping my friend chase someone, and I also have to take care of Sister Lu’s every need. So, Dad, can you give me some money? I’ve run out of my own.”
“How much? Is five million enough?”
“Yes, that’s enough! Thank you, Dad! You’re the best!”
“You’re welcome. You’re my precious daughter. If I don’t give you money, who will? Wait until I get back to the office, and I’ll have someone transfer the money to you immediately.”
“Okay, Dad, I love you!”
“I love you too, Dad.”
Qiao Jinghuai listened to Qiao Yu’s one-sided conversation with a blank expression. After a long moment, he snapped out of it. “Qiao Yu, if you’re really that bored, go find a jail cell to sit in.”
