After Rebirth, My Ex-Girlfriend Became Obsessive - Chapter 100
An Yu was pleasantly surprised by her sudden visit, her gaze softening as she looked at her.
Lin Duxi didn’t know why, but her body suddenly went weak, melting straight into An Yu’s embrace.
An Yu wrapped her arms around her, guiding Lin Duxi to sit together on the chair.
“Is Teacher Lin always this shy?” An Yu teased deliberately, only to have Lin Duxi retaliate by tickling the sensitive spot at her waist. She couldn’t help but laugh.
Lin Duxi’s cheeks flushed pink as she lifted her head to glare at her. But in An Yu’s eyes, it was like a little kitten unsheathing its claws-her amusement was impossible to suppress.
Lin Duxi’s face burned hotter. The emotions swirling in An Yu’s eyes were like a catalyst, and suddenly, she sealed An Yu’s lips with her own.
The air around them seemed to freeze, thick with lingering tenderness and unspoken affection.
After their playful tussle, both Lin Duxi and An Yu were covered in a light sheen of sweat, so they finally stopped.
Lin Duxi panted slightly, her eyes glistening with moisture, her hair slightly disheveled. She looked soft yet irresistibly alluring, so dazzling that An Yu’s ears turned red.
A faint smirk curled Lin Duxi’s lips-finally, she had turned the tables. Leaning in, she let her lips hover just centimeters from An Yu’s ear.
Her warm breath brushed against An Yu’s fair skin, instantly scorching it. Lin Duxi watched with satisfaction as a rosy hue spread across An Yu’s complexion within seconds.
Parting her lips slightly, she murmured in a low, deliberate voice:
“Do you like it when I call you ‘jiejie’?”
An Yu stiffened all over. That slightly husky voice slipped into her ears like an electric current, surging through her veins and sending shivers down her spine.
It wasn’t as if she had never heard Lin Duxi speak like this before-but those words had always been whispered in moments of passion. Now, in this setting, she could only freeze in place, her cheeks burning as she cupped them in her hands moments later.
An Yu was thoroughly flustered. If emotions had physical form, steam would surely be rising from the top of her head.
Lin Duxi decided not to tease her further and stood up, straightening her own rumpled clothes.
The cooling air dispelled the heat in the room. An Yu pressed her hands against her cheeks, taking a moment to compose herself and calm her racing heart.
When she looked up at the woman standing across from her, her eyes were still filled with warmth.
“You messed up my clothes too,” An Yu said, feigning shock, though the tenderness in her gaze remained unchanged.
Lin Duxi glanced at her-aside from the slightly crooked collar, An Yu’s outfit was perfectly intact. Meeting An Yu’s eyes again, she found no trace of embarrassment, only her usual playful boldness.
With a resigned sigh, Lin Duxi reached out to adjust An Yu’s collar-only to be pulled into a tight embrace the next second.
“What’s wrong?” Lin Duxi asked.
An Yu shook her head, holding her without a word. Understanding, Lin Duxi didn’t press further.
Lin Duxi had work the next day and had booked a flight for that evening, which meant their time together was running out. These past two days had felt like a dream, and neither of them wanted to shatter the fragile beauty of it.
After this separation, they didn’t know when they’d see each other again. The thought made Lin Duxi’s heart ache.
They held each other quietly until An Yu’s phone rang-it was time for her makeup session.
Lin Duxi stood up. “Go get ready. You shouldn’t delay filming.”
An Yu followed her to her feet, walking toward the door in a daze. But then, as if remembering something, she turned back-just in time to catch the bright spark in Lin Duxi’s eyes.
“I don’t have many scenes this afternoon. Wait for me,” she said.
Lin Duxi smiled and nodded.
After An Yu left, Lin Duxi stayed alone in the dressing room, taking a few photos to post on Weibo later. Then she sat in An Yu’s chair, lost in thought.
She opened her phone and checked Weibo-unsurprisingly, An Yu’s name was trending alongside hers, marked with a red explosive.
A satisfied smirk tugged at Lin Duxi’s lips. Her possessive desires had been fulfilled. Closing the app, she returned to her earlier thoughts.
From An Yu’s demeanor these past two days, it seemed the system no longer posed a threat to them.
But it was better to be safe than sorry. The mere thought of that detestable thing still lurking in An Yu’s mind was impossible to ignore.
The best course of action now was to ensure that she and An Yu remained each other’s top priority. The more An Yu valued her, the weaker the system’s energy would become, leaving it powerless except to passively seek sustenance. Pei Lu had already been dealt with-his crimes were enough to keep him imprisoned for life. Now, all they had to do was wait for the system to make its move.
Yet Lin Duxi couldn’t shake off a lingering unease. If she were honest with herself, she didn’t want An Yu to leave her side-ever. In many moments, she even fantasized about An Yu staying with her always, under her care and protection.
She was still afraid. She couldn’t bear the pain of losing An Yu again.
Until the system was completely eradicated, her fears would never fade. She wanted to go public with An Yu-it was the best solution now, and it would satisfy her obsessive possessiveness. Yesterday, when she saw netizens speculating about An Yu’s girlfriend, she had to restrain herself fiercely. An Yu had probably noticed her reaction, but for the sake of her career, this half-public status was the most they could do for now.
Lin Duxi was feeling dejected, unable to stop thinking about the matter for several hours, until Ji Qi called her.
“Lin Duxi, check the trending topics!”
Lin Duxi was baffled, but hearing the urgency in Ji Qi’s voice, she obediently opened Weibo-only for her pupils to dilate in shock.
[@An Yu: Yes, she’s my girlfriend. @Lin Duxi]
Lin Duxi stared blankly at the message on her phone screen. Everything around her seemed to fade, leaving only those words burning in her vision.
The world fell silent. All she could hear was the pounding of her own heartbeat and the rush of blood roaring in her ears.
Creak-
The door was pushed open from the outside. An Yu, now dressed in casual clothes, walked in holding two drinks. Seeing Lin Duxi frozen while staring at her phone, she couldn’t help but laugh.
“So fast? I wanted to tell you myself.”
Lin Duxi looked up, the shattered light in her eyes rippling like waves, the corners of her eyes faintly red.
An Yu’s expression faltered. She hurried over, set the drinks down, and crouched to meet Lin Duxi’s gaze. With gentle fingers, she wiped away the clear tear at the corner of Lin Duxi’s eye.
“What’s wrong?” An Yu asked anxiously, her face full of worry.
Lin Duxi’s heart melted into a puddle. She leaned forward and hugged An Yu tightly.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” You made me suffer all afternoon. Her voice was hoarse, carrying a hint of complaint.
Hearing her tone, An Yu finally relaxed. Patting Lin Duxi’s back, she explained softly, half coaxing, “I’ve wanted to do this for a long time. I meant to tell you at noon, but after kissing you, my brain just… short-circuited.”
Lin Duxi bit her lip and buried her face in the crook of An Yu’s neck, her long hair spilling over An Yu’s shoulder.
“Don’t talk about that.”
An Yu chuckled helplessly.
“Fine, I won’t. Let’s go eat.”
An Yu stood up, interlacing her fingers with Lin Duxi’s right hand in a tight grip.
Just as they were about to leave, Lin Duxi suddenly remembered something. She hastily let go and opened her phone, typing rapidly. Before An Yu could ask what she was doing, Lin Duxi had already set her phone down and reclaimed her hand.
“Let’s go.”
Outside the lounge, staff members watched as the two walked away hand in hand. Like a stone tossed into a calm lake, the scene instantly set group chats ablaze-yet everyone maintained straight faces as they watched the pair leave.
If reality was already like this, the online discussion was even more frenzied.
Less than half an hour after An Yu’s Weibo post, Lin Duxi also posted:
[@Lin Duxi: Mhm, my girlfriend. @An Yu]
The internet exploded. Their CP fans were overjoyed, while the solo stans on both sides, despite their inner fangirling, worked hard to maintain order in the comments.
[@Xie An’an: Finally official! As a CP fan, my dream has come true!]
Xie An’an, you’re shipping them too? Haha, as expected of our top CP fan!
[Donating 1 million in Xie An’an’s name!]
[Oh? How did you know my CP just went public?]
[Wow, going from despair to euphoria in one day-this emotional rollercoaster is worth more than any amusement park ride!]
[AHHHH MOM, YOUR DAUGHTER’S SHIP JUST SAILED FOR REAL!]
[Hehehe, so sweet, so sweet, SO SWEET!]
Unaware of the online frenzy, An Yu and Lin Duxi were currently in a car heading to a restaurant.
An Yu couldn’t help but feel a pang of loneliness at the thought that she’d still have to stay here for several more months-meaning she wouldn’t see Lin Duxi for a long time.
We haven’t even parted yet, and I already miss her.
Just as An Yu was about to shake off the thought, a familiar sensation surged in her mind. Her entire body stiffened.
The long-dormant system had finally stirred. Previously, it had gone dormant to protect itself, but its energy had been draining continuously. Now, it could no longer ignore the loss.
“An Yu! What did you do?!” The system immediately sensed something was wrong, but before it could finish speaking, its energy began draining rapidly.
An Yu raised an eyebrow. “You’re finally awake.”
Alarms blared in the system’s core. Instinctive survival urges made it try to flee.
A sharp, splitting pain exploded in An Yu’s mind. She let out a muffled groan, cold sweat beading on her forehead.
Lin Duxi turned in panic, gripping her shoulders. “A-Yu! A-Yu, what’s wrong?!”
An Yu exhaled heavily. “I’m fine.” Then, gritting her teeth against the pain, she taunted the system.
“Running away, System? Weren’t you the one who said you’d stick with me until the mission was complete? What, now you’re just going to abandon ship?”
The system, provoked, wanted to activate a punishment-only to realize it no longer had enough energy to do so. Furious, it redirected all its power and finally detected a faint signal far, far away.
“Hmph! Once I recover, you’ll be the first one I eliminate!”
With a cold laugh, the system used its last remnants of energy to forcibly detach from An Yu.
Instantly, An Yu’s mind felt like it had been torn apart. The excruciating pain lasted only a moment, but it left her entire body weak. She slumped forward into Lin Duxi’s arms.
Lin Duxi’s eyes reddened as she held An Yu, trembling uncontrollably at the sight of her pale face.
“A-Yu… A-Yu…” She didn’t know what had happened, but she could sense the disturbance-An Yu must have confronted the system. Yet, she was powerless to do anything.
A tear slipped from the corner of her eye, landing coolly on An Yu’s cheek.
An Yu slowly opened her eyes and saw the shattered look in Lin Duxi’s gaze. Gasping lightly, she reached up to wipe the tear away.
“Don’t cry. I’m fine. It’s just… it’s been inside me for so long. The sudden separation was a bit overwhelming. I’ll be okay after resting.”
“A-Yu, stop talking. Just rest. We’re almost at the hospital,” Lin Duxi said, her voice unsteady as she signaled the driver to head to the hospital.
An Yu wanted to say more, but Lin Duxi quickly covered her lips. The worry in her eyes was so overwhelming that it stirred An Yu’s heart. Obediently, An Yu fell silent.
By the time the car arrived at the hospital, An Yu had mostly recovered and could move on her own. Just as she was about to get up, Lin Duxi firmly held her arm, supporting her as they stepped out together.
The moment they exited the car, Lin Duxi’s phone rang. Frowning, she was about to decline the call when she paused upon seeing the caller ID. She answered on speaker.
“Miss, Pei Lu has gone insane.”
