- Chapter 11 - Moving the Filming Location Tomorrow
Leng Yan remembered that the plot did mention a trending topic about Xi Mengyao and Lu Rang getting together, but that was supposedly near the end of the last season of Time’s Travel Notes… Aiya, the original Leng Yan didn’t even participate in that show, so she didn’t know what happened in between.
Never mind, Lu Rang has more ‘mom fans’ than ‘girlfriend fans’ anyway, so even if a relationship is exposed, the impact won’t be significant.
Lu Rang’s ‘mom fans’ had even said, “My feelings for Lu Qian and Lu Rang are very strange; I don’t have any [romantic] thoughts about them.”
Leng Yan tidied up the plot in her mind, turned around, and saw He Yinshao staring intently at her. She patted the other person’s shoulder. “What are you doing? The sunset is over; let’s go back.”
That annoying He Yinshao has been monitoring my whereabouts all afternoon. It’s obvious she hates me but still needs to know if I’m going to do anything ‘evil and harmful.’
Leng Yan walked away irritably. He Yinshao followed. “Okay.”
Lu Rang and Xi Mengyao also walked back with them, but they walked slowly, afraid of waking up little Kunkun.
During dinner, Lu Rang looked around and asked Assistant Director Xu, “Did Ge (Brother) not come down for dinner?”
Assistant Director Xu shook his head. “I haven’t seen Teacher Lu Qian come down.”
“Alright.” Lu Rang took a couple of bites, feeling unenthusiastic. “Heaven help us, I’ve been eating seafood for two days now. I really don’t want any more…”
“Just make do, ‘Brother’s Boy’,” Xi Mengyao said, holding little Kunkun, a hint of disdain in her eyes.
“It’s fine. We can leave here after filming tomorrow,” Leng Yan said carelessly.
“Why? Don’t we have a lot more to film?” Xi Mengyao asked, confused. “Teacher Leng, are you quitting the show tomorrow?”
As soon as she spoke, He Yinshao suddenly looked sharply at Leng Yan.
Leng Yan shook her head. “No. After filming tomorrow, all of us will go to another location to continue the show.”
“Why?” Lu Rang asked, curious.
Logically, this show was supposed to be filmed on this island for the whole week. Why were they changing locations tomorrow?
“Because Teacher Leng decided to pay out of her own pocket to move the filming location for everyone,” Director Zhang arrived, holding several airplane tickets. “Here are your tickets. They are all for the VIP channel, first class.”
“Teacher Leng…” Lu Rang looked at Leng Yan, his eyes shining. “Do you need a little brother?”
“I don’t need one…” Leng Yan felt nervous. One Leng Junhui was enough for her.
“What about a little sister?” Xi Mengyao seized the opportunity.
“No, not really…” Leng Yan thought about it but still refused. “But I don’t plan on adopting a god-sister for now.”
He Yinshao opened her mouth but said nothing, instead poking the sea cucumber on her plate with her chopsticks in a sulk.
“Lu Rang, you want to be someone else’s little brother?” Lu Qian appeared out of nowhere, startling Lu Rang so much that he almost dropped his chopsticks.
“Ge, when did you come down~?” Lu Rang turned his head, grinning as he shook Lu Qian’s arm, coaxing him, “Ge, they are all fake, you are the only one who is real.”
Lu Qian watched Lu Rang coax him without saying a word, and the expression on his face softened slightly. A staff member recorded this scene on his phone and deliberately created an account to post it online.
“…Geez.” Xi Mengyao couldn’t help but sigh, watching the scene. “You ‘Brother’s Boy’.”
“Xi Mengyao, we just made up this afternoon, and now you’re picking a fight with me again?!”
“Did I say something wrong?”
“You…”
The two of them started arguing on the second floor.
“I’m done eating. Goodbye.” Leng Yan walked toward the elevator, and He Yinshao followed her.
“They were a bit loud, so I came along,” He Yinshao explained.
“Oh.” Leng Yan grumbled internally: How polite of you; you’re spying on me but still make up an excuse.
Neither of them spoke while the elevator ascended nor on the way back to the room. When they returned to 509, He Yinshao suddenly remembered something: If they were changing locations tomorrow, wouldn’t she no longer be in the same room as Leng Yan…?
“Only two nights sleeping together…” He Yinshao muttered, looking at her bedding on the floor. But then she thought: I don’t even like Leng Yan’s icy face, so why am I feeling disappointed?!
As soon as the words were out, the room fell silent.
He Yinshao herself was stunned. What did she mean? What image did she have of me in her mind? Why did she think I would hit her?!!
Leng Yan saw that He Yinshao hadn’t released the hand she’d rested on her, and she felt a sense of panic internally: This psycho isn’t actually going to hit me now, is she?
The two remained deadlocked for about two minutes. Leng Yan couldn’t stand the tension first. She pushed He Yinshao’s shoulder and walked toward the bathroom, muttering, “Neurotic.”
“She cursed me…?” He Yinshao looked at Leng Yan walking into the bathroom, feeling a ripple of emotion but not much anger.
After hugging Leng Yan just now, He Yinshao felt that her arms still retained some of… that soft feeling.
Leng Yan was changing into her pajamas in the bathroom. As she changed, she cursed, “That damn He Yinshao. She actually tried to hit me just now. I’m definitely not buying her ticket later; she can pay for her own way.”
But she kept her cursing quiet. Although she didn’t care about He Yinshao’s feelings, she was genuinely afraid that if the plot collapsed, the timeline would jump back again… She remembered how she had killed the other party immediately after transmigrating. She was very nonchalant at the time, thinking she could return, but the timeline just restarted. Although Leng Yan’s nature was quite cold and aloof, she couldn’t help but swear under her breath about He Yinshao now.
She needed to maintain distance from He Yinshao, lest she couldn’t strike first and end up being beaten up by the other person.
He Yinshao sat on her bedding on the floor. There was movement from the bathroom, and the door opened. She looked toward the doorway. It was Leng Yan, wearing a light blue pajama. The other person didn’t even spare her a glance before diving into bed.
He Yinshao didn’t say anything either. She got up and walked into the bathroom to shower. The shower water was slightly cool. She was still thinking about the scene where she had hugged Leng Yan just now. She looked at her own hands. “Tsk, how does that person have such a good figure? Why didn’t I notice in the first two lives?”
After saying that, she weakly hugged herself, as if holding someone in her arms.
…The quilt on the bed rustled. Leng Yan closed her eyes, listening to the sound of the shower in the bathroom. It must be He Yinshao’s shower noises disturbing me, the dog thing.
After about forty minutes, He Yinshao came out of the shower, wearing the white and yellow pajamas that Leng Yan had prepared for her in the house previously. She saw no movement in the quilt on the bed, let out a sigh of relief, and lay down in her own quilt. As she lay down, she saw a hand exposed near her side of the bed, and it was quite nice-looking.
Lost in thought, He Yinshao raised her hand and reached out to touch the other person.
