After Saving Her White Moonlight, She Blackened?! (GL) - Chapter 17
Leng Yan and He Yinshao were responsible for lunch, but since the groceries hadn’t been bought back yet, there was no rush.
Lu Qian was worried that little Kunkun might accidentally cause trouble while he was cleaning, so he handed her to Leng Yan, who was then promptly relieved of the child by He Yinshao.
“How come I never noticed you liked little Kunkun this much before?” Leng Yan watched as He Yinshao held the child, and noted that Kunkun wasn’t struggling.
“Maybe it’s because Kunkun is always clinging to you.” Clinging to a fickle woman like you.
On the surface, He Yinshao looked as harmless as a little white lamb, but her hands were actually gripping Kunkun quite tightly. Initially, Kunkun wasn’t afraid of this sister, but she later discovered that He Yinshao always had a cold face toward her and wouldn’t let her get near Sister Leng Yan. Kunkun was a bit scared, but being held so firmly now, her fear translated into a lack of struggle.
“She’s quite well-behaved, staying perfectly still in your arms…” Leng Yan’s lips curled upward as she gently pinched Kunkun’s cheek with her thumb and index finger.
Nearby, Lu Qian had been diligently cleaning. By the time he was nearly finished, Lu Rang and Xi Mengyao returned.
The moment Lu Rang stepped through the door hoisting a bag of rice, he let out a howl. “GE!!! I’M BACK!!”
“Lu Rang, you’re hurting my ears…” Xi Mengyao, carrying meat and vegetables, covered one ear with her free hand.
“You’re back?” Lu Qian walked over with a glass of water. He set the water on the table and took the rice from Lu Rang’s shoulder. “Give it to me. Go rest.”
[My two little treasures are so sweet together!!!]
[This looks exactly like the daily life of a double male lead extra in a novel…]
[What about the ‘Shui Lu Liang Xi’ CP I just fell in love with today!!! Don’t do this!!]
[My shipping tastes are as messy as my damn sexual orientation…]
“Let’s go~” Leng Yan patted He Yinshao’s shoulder. “It’s time to cook.”
“Mhm, okay.” He Yinshao set little Kunkun down.
The moment her feet touched the floor, Kunkun ran straight to Xi Mengyao. “Sister…”
“Eh? Why aren’t you sticking to your Sister Leng Yan today?” Xi Mengyao set the food down and opened her arms to hug Kunkun.
Kunkun didn’t speak; she just nuzzled into Xi Mengyao’s embrace.
“A pervert since she was little…?” Lu Rang watched Kunkun nuzzle Xi Mengyao. Dissatisfied, he handed his water glass to Xi Mengyao and poured himself a new one.
[‘Shui Lu Liang Xi’ is real!!!]
[Is Lu Rang jealous?]
[Based on my twenty years of experience as a ‘Mom-fan,’ there’s definitely some jealousy there.]
[Sigh, Lu Rang, won’t your brother be angry?]
Indeed, Lu Qian was angry. He had poured a glass of water for Lu Rang half an hour early, only for Lu Rang to hand it over the moment he returned. Now, Lu Rang had given his water directly to Xi Mengyao.
Lu Qian looked down at Lu Rang with lowered eyes. After a few seconds, he turned and left, returning to his room.
Naturally, there was a very loud sound of a door slamming.
Lu Rang was startled by the slam. Some of the water in his hand spilled out as he belatedly realized what had happened.
For once, Xi Mengyao didn’t call Lu Rang a “Brother’s Boy.” She held Kunkun and pushed the glass of water next to the one Lu Rang had just set down.
[Good heavens, Teacher Xi is being thoughtful of Teacher Lu Rang!!]
[I think Teacher Xi just feels bad drinking the water, purely out of guilt.]
[Delicious drama, I love to see it!]
In the kitchen, He Yinshao was washing vegetables. She looked at Leng Yan, who was slicing meat, and asked, “Do you know how to cook?”
The moment the words left her mouth, she regretted them. She had lived through a whole lifetime with Leng Yan’s cooking skills; how could she not know?
“Mhm, I should know how,” Leng Yan replied while slicing. She didn’t actually know if the original host could cook.
“I’ll do the cooking then,” He Yinshao said, draining the washed vegetables.
“Oh.” Leng Yan finished slicing the meat and put it in a bowl. Likely due to a lapse in concentration, she cut a small nick into her pinky finger.
He Yinshao was busy putting oil in the pan and didn’t notice. Leng Yan didn’t say anything either; she simply held her hand under the running water. The blood was washed away, leaving only a raw, skin-colored wound.
Leng Yan frowned slightly. Since she had cut herself while handling raw meat, she needed to go to the hospital for a check-up within twenty-four hours.
Not wanting to delay the live stream, Leng Yan dried the water off her hand and continued helping He Yinshao as a kitchen assistant…
[I think I just saw Teacher Leng bleeding?]
[Upstairs, I saw it too.]
[Please go to the hospital! She was cutting raw meat, that’s dangerous.]
[Teacher He, turn your head and look!!]
[Sigh… the rumors about Teacher He and Teacher Leng not getting along seem to be true.]
He Yinshao was still cooking. Out of the corner of her eye, she only saw Leng Yan rinsing something. Thinking she was washing vegetables, she asked casually, “What did you just wash?”
“My hand.”
“You’re washing your hands now?” He Yinshao dropped the spatula, walked over, grabbed Leng Yan’s wrist, and inspected it closely.
Sure enough, a raw scar, with the blood washed away but not yet scabbed over, appeared in He Yinshao’s sight. Her grip on Leng Yan’s wrist tightened.
“He Yinshao… let go.” Leng Yan felt helpless. “Tsk, release me first, we’re live.”
“…” He Yinshao reluctantly let go, though the worry on her face was unconcealed.
[Who said they don’t get along? Come out here so I can slap you!]
[Exactly, Teacher He simply didn’t see it. Some comments are just making things up.]
[Leng Yan just told He Yinshao to let her go… who else understands that vibe?!!!]
[I DO!!]
[ME TOO!!!]
The meal was infused with a mood of resentment, so naturally, it didn’t taste good at all.
Everyone’s expression at the table was a sight to behold. Even Lu Qian couldn’t help but frown.
Lu Rang took a bite—not right… tried another bite, hiss… it seemed bad, but he forgot the taste immediately, so he tried one more…
And so, he finished the meal in a cycle of repeated doubt, repeated tasting, and repeated forgetting.
Xi Mengyao said nothing and endured the meal. As for little Kunkun, the only thing she touched with her chopsticks the whole time was the plain rice.
Leng Yan took one bite of every dish.
[Is this food poisoned? Hahaha]
[My sense of humor is defeating my morals…]
[He Yinshao: No one came here for nothing, we’re all suffering together.]
Although everyone was discussing the lunch, no one criticized He Yinshao.
Because she ate more than anyone else…
Even the haters felt too embarrassed to bash her…
After lunch, Leng Yan returned to her room. She put on a jacket and a mask, preparing to head out. However, when she opened the door, she saw He Yinshao. She asked in confusion, “Why are you here?”
He Yinshao took a few steps back, hiding the band-aids in her hand behind her back. “N-no reason.”
