- After Saving Her White Moonlight, She Blackened?! (GL)
- Chapter 20 - She Seems to Have Found a Way to Make Leng Yan Soften
Inside the ambulance.
“I actually don’t need to go to the hospital…” He Yinshao pulled at the cuff of Leng Yan’s pajama sleeve.
She really didn’t want the hospital to find out that there was nothing seriously wrong with her, which would make Leng Yan suspicious…
“He Yinshao, shut up.” Leng Yan pressed her temples, feeling a headache coming on.
She truly couldn’t understand earlier; when she fell, He Yinshao should have just dodged. Why did she have to act so brave? In the end, they both tumbled down the stairs. However, since He Yinshao had protected her the entire time they were rolling down, Leng Yan had no reason to lose her temper with her now…
Still unable to let it go, she muttered under her breath, “Show-off.”
He Yinshao stopped talking and just lay on the stretcher looking at Leng Yan. Her eyes were slightly red, seemingly shimmering with faint tears.
Meeting her gaze, something in Leng Yan’s heart seemed to soften. She unconsciously lowered her eyes and looked away.
Forget it, forget it. There’s no need to blame her; she was just trying to help catch me with good intentions…
Thinking this, Leng Yan’s tone improved significantly. She patted He Yinshao’s shoulder and sighed. “Sigh… just lie still. We’ll get you checked out at the hospital. If you’re fine, we can head back together.”
“Okay.” He Yinshao nodded and turned her face to the other side. Her moist lips curled up slightly; it seemed she had discovered the secret to making Leng Yan soften.
After arriving at the hospital, Leng Yan stayed close to He Yinshao as the doctors took her for various tests. Though her face remained expressionless, He Yinshao could feel Leng Yan’s concern for her.
After a series of X-rays and examinations, they arrived at the consultation room.
“Doctor, how is she? Any fractures?”
“She’s fine. No fractures, just some abrasions and bruising. Try to keep the wounds away from water when you go back.” The doctor reviewed the films, adjusted his glasses, and pointed at He Yinshao. “This young lady also has abrasions on her back. If she needs medicine applied after her shower, you should help her out, otherwise it might leave a scar.”
Seeing Leng Yan pursing her lips and looking down despondently as if she were in a low mood, He Yinshao spoke softly, “There’s no need to trouble her, Doctor. I can do it myself…”
“Alright, alright, I get it, I get it.” Leng Yan waved her hand. “It’s just applying some medicine after a shower.”
“It’s no big deal.”
It was unclear if she was speaking to them or just trying to convince herself.
“Doctor, anything else? Does she need to be hospitalized?”
“No, that’s all. Given her condition, there’s no need for hospitalization. You two can go back.” The doctor handed over the films.
“Alright, thank you, Doctor.” Leng Yan took the results, followed the nurse to the pharmacy to collect the medicine, and then took He Yinshao back to the villa.
By the time they walked out of the emergency building together, it was already four in the morning.
Leng Yan called a taxi and sat in the back next to He Yinshao. She leaned against the soft headrest, closed her eyes, and took a nap.
Looking at Leng Yan’s exhausted state, a sense of guilt welled up in He Yinshao. It wasn’t that she had intentionally failed to catch Leng Yan; her physical fitness simply wasn’t that great. But escalating it to calling an ambulance was indeed her fault…
“I’m sorry,” He Yinshao spoke in a low voice.
“Hmm?” Leng Yan opened her eyes, her dark pupils flickering with confusion. “Sorry for what?”
“For troubling you and making you stay up all night.”
“It’s fine. I went to bed early last night, so I’m not that sleepy.”
Leng Yan indeed wasn’t sleepy. She had just been worried about He Yinshao the whole way. Her heart had only settled after the check-up, and she was just feeling a bit fatigued now.
“Reach out your hand.”
“?” He Yinshao was puzzled but obediently reached out.
Leng Yan took the other’s wrist and inspected it carefully. There were several bruises on the arm and an abrasion on the shoulder, but they weren’t serious. Good…
Suddenly, Leng Yan pressed hard on one of the bruises and tossed the hand away.
“Hiss…” He Yinshao played along.
Compared to the beatings she had endured in her first life, this was far too light.
“You deserve it.”
“Yes, I deserve it.” Her tone was laced with a hint of a smile.
Leng Yan stopped talking and looked out the window at the scenery flashing by.
By the time they returned to the villa, the sky was already starting to brighten. Leng Yan turned on her phone’s flashlight. “You go up first.”
“Huh?”
“What do you mean ‘huh’? Hurry up.”
“Okay…”
He Yinshao walked in front of Leng Yan, and Leng Yan’s phone light illuminated the stairs ahead. This time, the two of them made it upstairs without incident.
“That wasn’t easy… I’m going back to my room. You go back to yours too.” Leng Yan waved her hand and stepped toward her own room.
“Okay…”
He Yinshao’s room was right next to Lu Rang’s. The order of the rooms on the second floor was Leng Yan, Xi Mengyao/Kunkun, He Yinshao, Lu Rang, and Lu Qian. The first floor was reserved for the directors and camera crew.
Just as He Yinshao reached her door, Lu Rang opened his and called out to her, “Teacher He, what a coincidence~”
“A coincidence indeed.” He Yinshao replied with a smile, her hand still on the doorknob.
“How was your check-up?” Lu Rang saw she was about to enter her room and asked with concern.
“No major issues, just some bruising and abrasions.” The smile on He Yinshao’s face remained perfectly standard.
“Mhm.” Lu Rang nodded. “That’s good. What about Teacher Leng? Did she go back to her room too?”
“Yes. Did you need something from her?”
“Ah… nothing special. I just really wanted to see Teacher Leng right now. After all, she was busy all night for your sake, so I wanted to show some concern.”
“Then Teacher Lu’s timing is quite unfortunate; she’s asleep.” He Yinshao’s face still wore that harmless “little white rabbit” smile, and her voice was very gentle.
“Oh dear, that’s a pity. I’ll find her tomorrow then.” Lu Rang shrugged and went back into his room. “Goodnight, Teacher He~”
The smile on He Yinshao’s face vanished completely the moment Lu Rang returned to his room. She pressed the doorknob, went inside, and buried herself under the covers.
The cramped space forced her to think.
She wanted to know: regarding her current feelings for Leng Yan, was it more like or more about utility? Even if it was “like,” which version of her did she like? And how much?
However, she felt those weren’t the most important things. The most important thing now was to keep Leng Yan by her side, no matter which version she was.
“Leng Yan…”
With deep, dark eyes, He Yinshao hugged the quilt tightly and murmured her name as she fell asleep.
Meanwhile, Leng Yan was already fast asleep.
The sound of soft snoring echoed in the room.
At the same time, Lu Rang, who had waited for about three hours just to mischievously provoke He Yinshao, was back in his room. He jumped with joy and shouted softly, “Yoo-hoo! The ship I’m rooting for is definitely real!!!”
Just now, through He Yinshao’s harmless rabbit mask, he had caught a glimpse of her possessiveness toward Leng Yan. How thrilling!!!
Excitedly, he flopped onto the bed, picked up his phone, and opened the “Yan Mian He Cun” CP community to check in…
