- Chapter 5 - Pretty Sister is Good-Looking
Leng Yan’s current routine involved dealing with company matters every day, commuting only between the villa and the office.
The original host’s social circle consisted of people who loved to carouse, both male and female—the chaotic private lives of the wealthy were quite common. However, Leng Yan didn’t want to spend time with them, so she recently rejected all their invitations to bars.
As for the original host’s father, he was probably busy accompanying his mistress. Her mother was likely looking for young college men outside. Neither had time to care about the original host.
Soon, a week passed.
Leng Yan went to film the show. That evening, the director of Time’s Travel Notes sent over an envelope containing a flight ticket for 4:00 AM, with the destination being a small island.
Leng Yan frowned slightly upon seeing the ticket, assuming this ticket was only for her, but she didn’t say much. She only instructed the butler to prepare her living essentials.
The next day, Leng Yan arrived at the airport at 3:30 AM. Because she arrived early, she was bored and looked around, feeling she spotted a familiar figure—could it be He Yinshao?
Leng Yan shook her head. How could it be? He Yinshao wouldn’t appear in a place like this.
About ten minutes later, Leng Yan checked in and boarded the plane. Once on board, she sat in her seat, put on an eye mask, and rested.
The plane flew for about two hours, and she arrived at the small island. Outside the airport, the director had been waiting for her for a long time. The moment he saw her, he rushed forward with a smile to greet her.
“Good morning, Teacher Leng.”
“Mm, morning.”
“How was your rest, Teacher Leng?”
“Not well, but thanks to you, Director, for booking such an early flight.” Leng Yan looked at the director without a genuine smile, making him feel a chill down his spine.
“We had no choice, Teacher Leng… We have to start filming at 8:00 AM, but we’ve prepared a room for you, and you can go rest for a while.” The director smiled ingratiatingly.
“Mm, let’s go then.” Leng Yan put on sunglasses and followed the director to the production crew’s car.
She quickly arrived at the homestay booked by the director team. After asking the director for her room number, she took her suitcase and went to her room.
An hour quickly passed, and the other guests gradually arrived.
“Hello Director Zhang, Hello Assistant Director. I am Lu Rang.” One young man looked very bright and energetic. He shook hands with the directors after arriving.
“Ahem, hello. I am Lu Qian.” Standing with the lively, sunny young man was his older brother, Lu Qian.
The parents of these two brothers were big celebrities, so they benefited from their parents’ fame, becoming second-generation stars. They had appeared in front of the public since childhood and now had many “mom fans” and “girlfriend fans,” enjoying smooth sailing in the entertainment industry.
Half an hour later, a playful girl appeared on camera. She was a recent traffic flower who became popular after starring in a short drama, and she was using the popularity to gain exposure on the variety show.
“Hello Directors, I’m Xi Mengyao. Everyone can call me Yaoyao.”
At the same time, she brought along a young actress who had played her daughter in the show—Kunkun.
Kunkun looked like a small, soft glutinous rice ball, pale and milky white. If you got close, you could smell a milky scent on her. She hid behind Xi Mengyao and cautiously poked out her small head. “Hello everyone, I’m Kunkun.”
Perhaps because little Kunkun was so adorable, the directors had an urge to have a daughter like her.
“Hello, Kunkun~” Director Zhang spoke in a high-pitched voice to greet little Kunkun. “You can call me Uncle Zhang.”
“Little Kunkun, I’m Uncle Xu~” Assistant Director Xu squatted down and gave little Kunkun a close-up shot with the camera, a benevolent fatherly smile on his face.
Someone in the photography crew spoke up, “Teacher Leng is still sleeping. Should we go wake her up?”
A moment of silence.
Who would dare? Who would dare wake up Miss Leng? Her temper was notoriously bad in the industry.
Everyone looked at each other, and their gazes finally settled on little Kunkun’s face.
“No! Little Kunkun will get scared and cry! I disagree!” Director Zhang was the first to state his position.
“I also disagree!” Assistant Director Xu followed suit.
“Then, Directors, I’ll trouble you two to go call Teacher Leng,” Lu Qian, who had been silent, finally spoke.
…
Room 309, Leng Yan’s door was quietly opened a crack.
“Good job, little Kunkun! Uncle Zhang is watching you go in, okay?” Director Zhang crouched down and carefully pushed little Kunkun inside.
Assistant Director Xu watched the scene, covering his eyes and sighing after Kunkun was pushed in. I’m sorry, little Kunkun. Uncle Xu also doesn’t dare to provoke Teacher Leng…
Xi Mengyao covered her chest with worry and looked at Lu Rang. “Will Teacher Leng yell at Kunkun and make her cry?”
“I don’t think so…?” Lu Rang replied hesitantly.
Inside Room 309.
Little Kunkun hugged her Pikachu doll and carefully climbed onto the bed, looking at the sleeping Leng Yan beside her. “Sissy, wake up.”
“Hmm? What the heck?” Leng Yan was too sleepy to open her eyes. She had stayed up until past 2 AM yesterday and went straight to the airport, only getting about three and a half hours of pieced-together sleep until now. She thought she just heard a child calling her to wake up?
Auditory hallucination. It must be a hallucination.
“Sissy!” Little Kunkun’s voice rose considerably when she saw the sister looking groggy.
The child’s sharp voice woke Leng Yan up a bit. “There really is a child?!”
She propped herself up on her elbow, looking at the little milky dumpling in front of her, and asked, “Whose child are you? Why are you in my room?”
“Uncle Zhang asked me to come, to wake Sissy up.” The little dumpling replied in a sweet, childish voice.
“What’s your name?”
“My name is Kunkun.”
“Then does Kunkun want her Sissy to wake up?” Leng Yan asked with a smile.
“No…” Kunkun looked at the very good-looking ‘Sissy’ in front of her and climbed onto the other person, abandoning the Pikachu in her hand and casually tossing it onto Leng Yan’s bed.
“Hey… be careful not to fall…” Leng Yan held Kunkun’s bottom with both hands, lowering her head slightly.
Before she could react, Kunkun planted a wet kiss on Leng Yan’s cheek.
“??” Leng Yan was confused. She pinched Kunkun’s cheek. “Why did you kiss me?”
“Sissy is good-looking (Hao Kang – Jiejie hao kang).”
Hao Kang? She must mean Hao Kan (Good-looking) then…
“Thank you, Kunkun.”
After a few words, Leng Yan’s sleepiness was gone. She walked out of the room holding little Kunkun and saw a group of people clustered at the doorway.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when they saw little Kunkun wasn’t crying, and they were also very grateful to Kunkun for waking Leng Yan up.
“Director Zhang.”
“Ah? Present!” Director Zhang was startled, standing ramrod straight.
“Help me hold Kunkun for a moment. I need to change out of my pajamas.” Leng Yan reached out and placed little Kunkun into Director Zhang’s arms.
“Aie~ Right away~” Director Zhang became happy again, joyfully taking Kunkun.
“Uncle Zhang, ugly! I don’t want him to hold me…” Little Kunkun clung to the sleeve of Leng Yan’s pajamas, looking like she was about to cry.
“Then, Kunkun, how about I hold you?” Xi Mengyao offered her hands.
“Okay~”
