After She Fell for Me, I Lost My Memory (GL) - Chapter 15
The next day, Cen Luo was notified by her superior that she had a half-month business trip for an interview.
The location was Mian City, a place Cen Luo was familiar with.
After asking her colleagues for their opinions, Cen Luo submitted her and Jiang Ting’s names.
“Team leader, does that mean we can rest for a day there, have some fun, and then come back?”
It was almost time for lunch break when Jiang Ting suddenly appeared at Cen Luo’s desk, with her hands on the table and an expectant look on her face.
Her eyes seemed to be saying, “Please, please.”
Cen Luo saw Jiang Ting’s expression, smiled, and nodded. “Yes, we can.”
Although Cen Luo had not been in Yunjing for long, based on how she usually handled her work, it was highly likely that she would return to the office as soon as the interview was over.
So, Jiang Ting spoke up in advance, hoping they would have time to relax after work.
It wouldn’t be fun to go by herself, but it would be great to have someone who knew Mian City to go with her.
Jiang Ting remembered Cen Luo saying that she had lived in Mian City for a while.
“So, team leader, can you give me a tour of Mian City?”
Seeing Jiang Ting’s expectant look, Cen Luo chuckled softly. “Okay.”
After getting a positive response from Cen Luo, Jiang Ting clenched her fist and let out a “yay!”
Soon, it was time for the lunch break.
Cen Luo closed her computer, tidied up her desk, and then prepared to leave the office.
But before she could finish tidying up, she heard a voice at the door. “Hello, is Miss Cen Luo here?”
“Wow—”
Cen Luo had just looked up and hadn’t found the source of the voice when she heard a gasp.
“Over there,” the person who was asked pointed to Cen Luo’s seat.
Cen Luo looked up and saw a woman dressed in a flower shop uniform, holding a bouquet of fiery red roses. She walked up to Cen Luo and asked, “Are you Miss Cen Luo?”
The colleagues who were about to leave for lunch all looked in Cen Luo’s direction. Some were whispering, and some were gasping in admiration.
Cen Luo nodded, not knowing why.
The woman then handed the flowers to Cen Luo. “Miss Cen Luo, these flowers are from Miss Zhao Zhao. She wishes you a happy Wednesday.”
A happy… Wednesday?
What’s so happy about a Wednesday?
“Team leader, take the flowers!” her colleagues urged.
Cen Luo hesitated and took the flowers.
In her heart, she didn’t really want to take them, but everyone around her was urging her to, and the woman who was delivering the flowers was also looking at her expectantly.
If she refused now, she would only make things difficult for the delivery woman.
Cen Luo placed the flowers on her desk and said “thank you.”
She had expected the delivery woman to leave right away, but she saw the woman raise her arms above her head and make a heart shape.
“Miss Zhao Zhao asked me to do this.”
Cen Luo: “?”
“…”
“Wow—”
After making the heart shape, the delivery woman left.
As the colleagues were about to ask Cen Luo about her relationship with Zhao Zhao, the office door was knocked on again by another person. She poked her head in and asked:
“Hello, is Miss Cen Luo here?”
It was another woman wearing a flower shop uniform.
“Over there, over there—”
This was the second time this had happened. The colleagues who were still in the office were now experienced. They all pointed to Cen Luo’s seat for the delivery woman.
This time, the flowers were a bouquet of blue baby’s breath, which was Cen Luo’s favorite flower.
She remembered that she had only told Jian Mu that she liked baby’s breath.
And besides Jian Mu, Cen Luo couldn’t think of anyone else who would send her flowers.
This time, the delivery woman didn’t do anything strange or say anything else.
After Cen Luo took the flowers, the woman left the office.
There was no card on the baby’s breath, so there was no information about who sent them.
But Cen Luo thought that the person who sent the second bouquet of flowers must be Jian Mu.
“Team leader, who sent you this baby’s breath?” Jiang Ting was the first to ask, and she rushed over to look at the flowers in Cen Luo’s hands.
Cen Luo smiled. “I think she did.”
Jiang Ting didn’t know who Cen Luo was talking about, but she guessed from Cen Luo’s expression that it was her girlfriend.
“They’re so beautiful. But team leader, why did Zhao Zhao also send you flowers?”
Jiang Ting voiced the question that was on many people’s minds.
But some colleagues didn’t know about Cen Luo and Zhao Zhao’s business. Remembering yesterday’s events, some immediately made “I knew it” expressions.
“I knew why Zhao Zhao kept hanging around the team leader yesterday. They’ve known each other for a long time?”
“Just asking, team leader, is Zhao Zhao pursuing you?”
Cen Luo frowned slightly when she heard this, suddenly questioning whether she and Zhao Zhao had made things clear yesterday.
“Don’t talk nonsense,” Cen Luo said with a slight hint of displeasure.
She placed the roses to the side and put the baby’s breath in front of her desk, preparing to take a few photos to send to Jian Mu to let her know she had received them.
“Oh no, team leader. I said so many bad things about Zhao Zhao yesterday,” Jiang Ting said, covering her face.
Cen Luo was focused on finding the right angle to take pictures of the flowers and didn’t hear what Jiang Ting said.
Liu Dan, who was next to her, comforted her. “It’s okay. You and Wu Dandan can be friends now.”
This morning, before Cen Luo arrived, Wu Dandan was going around the office asking what Cen Luo liked to eat.
Anyone with a discerning eye who had attended yesterday’s dinner could tell that Wu Dandan was trying to make up for her actions yesterday.
“You’re jinxing me. Offending Jian Mu and offending Zhao Zhao are not the same thing,” Jiang Ting whispered back to Liu Dan, rolling her eyes.
Jian Mu was the heir of Yunjing. One wrong word could make her lose her job.
Although she didn’t understand why Jian Mu never showed up at Yunjing, the entire company would belong to Jian Mu in the future, and firing a few people would be a minor thing for her.
And offending Zhao Zhao didn’t seem to have any consequences for her.
“Some people haven’t received a single flower in over twenty years, while others receive two different bouquets in one day. Comparison can really make you mad.”
The colleagues around her teased.
But Cen Luo was focused on taking pictures of the baby’s breath. She chose a few good-looking ones and sent them to Jian Mu.
She also posted them on her social media with the caption: I love it.
At that moment, Jian Mu was in a meeting. She didn’t pay attention when her phone screen lit up and continued listening to the work report.
Cen Luo didn’t receive a reply from Jian Mu right away, so she guessed that Jian Mu was in a meeting and didn’t mind.
She placed the baby’s breath on a clean spot on her desk and used a storage rack to block it, preventing it from accidentally falling. Then she went downstairs with her colleagues for lunch.
When they got to the cafeteria, Jiang Ting was still worried about what she had said about Zhao Zhao.
Cen Luo then remembered that she had casually placed the roses on her desk and hadn’t talked to Zhao Zhao again.
When she got to the company’s cafeteria, Cen Luo bought her food and sat at a table. She suddenly felt her phone vibrate in her pocket.
Thinking it was Jian Mu replying, Cen Luo quickly opened her messaging app, but she found a friend request instead.
The note was: Your Zhao Zhao.
The profile picture was of a kitten yawning. The blurry look was very cute.
The profile picture is nice.
Cen Luo accepted it.
As soon as she accepted, she received a message from Zhao Zhao:
[Big sister, did you save my contact?]
[Yes.]
The top of the screen showed the two big words, Zhao Zhao.
[Can you send me a screenshot?]
Cen Luo was confused about why she would want to see that. Does her name have a rare character? Is she afraid I’ll spell it wrong?
She was curious, but she didn’t ask. Instead, she took a screenshot as she was told.
Zhao Zhao: [Wrong.]
Zhao Zhao: [It should be My Zhao Zhao.]
Zhao Zhao: [Save it as those four words.]
Cen Luo: [?]
On the other side, Zhao Zhao, who was sitting in front of a vanity mirror, couldn’t help but chuckle when she saw the question mark.
So cute.
Even her question mark is cute.
Zhao Zhao: [Big sister, did you see the roses I sent you? Are they pretty?]
Zhao Zhao: [Are they passionate enough? Do they look like me?]
Cen Luo: […]
Cen Luo: [I have a girlfriend.]
Cen Luo decided to remind her for the last time. If she continued like this, she wouldn’t hesitate to block Zhao Zhao.
Zhao Zhao: [I know. Aren’t I being pretty reserved?]
Cen Luo was speechless. But she was also at fault for accepting the flowers.
Not wanting to continue the conversation with Zhao Zhao, she messaged her that she was eating and couldn’t talk.
[Then, good afternoon.]
After Zhao Zhao sent the message, she didn’t receive a reply from Cen Luo.
The makeup artist in front of her was complimenting her on her flawless skin, and Zhao Zhao casually hummed in response.
She then saw a picture on Cen Luo’s social media that she could see and clicked on it.
The picture was of a bouquet of baby’s breath, and the caption was: I love it.
Zhao Zhao stared at the photo for a long time. After a while, her lips twitched slightly, and she let out a soft laugh.
“Looks like different flowers have different fates.”
The makeup artist glanced at Zhao Zhao’s phone screen, accidentally catching a glimpse of the content. She was surprised but didn’t show it on her face.
After all, people in their line of work had to pretend they didn’t know anything.
Cen Luo didn’t receive a reply from Jian Mu until she was almost finished with lunch.
Jian Mu: [They’re very pretty.]
Very pretty?
Cen Luo frowned. She wasn’t sharing flowers with Jian Mu.
Cen Luo: [Where did you buy them?]
Cen Luo sent a vague message. Jian Mu, who had just left the conference room, was stunned. Was Cen Luo asking her to guess?
Jian Mu: [I can’t guess.]
Cen Luo was a little disappointed. So it wasn’t Jian Mu who sent them.
Because they were her favorite baby’s breath, and combined with what happened yesterday, Cen Luo had thought that their relationship had gotten a little closer.
But now that she thought about it, Jian Mu really hadn’t sent her flowers much.
Cen Luo: [You don’t know, do you? Haha.]
Jian Mu: [No.]
After that, Cen Luo asked Jian Mu if she had eaten lunch and so on. Their conversation went on for a while.
It was all Cen Luo asking questions, and Jian Mu answering them one by one.
It was still good. At least Jian Mu would answer what she wanted to know.
But what wasn’t so good was that Jian Mu didn’t ask much about her.
After lunch, Cen Luo went back to the office.
As soon as she entered the office, she saw the bouquet of roses on the floor.
When she picked them up, she saw a few scattered petals on the marble floor.
They were a fiery red and looked even more shocking on the white marble floor.
Cen Luo sighed. She then looked at the baby’s breath she had carefully placed on her desk.
She remembered the post she had just made on her social media.
She then deleted the post and threw the baby’s breath into the trash can next to her desk.
She liked baby’s breath because the first bouquet of flowers Jian Mu gave her was baby’s breath, not because it was baby’s breath itself.
She didn’t like every bouquet of baby’s breath that was given to her.
What’s more, this bouquet had no name and an unknown origin.
After that, her eyes lingered on the roses she had just picked up and placed on her desk.
She didn’t know what to do with them.
She also didn’t understand why Zhao Zhao was so stubborn.
Maybe I gave her a hint I shouldn’t have?
After thinking for a while and putting herself in Jian Mu’s shoes, she realized that she would definitely be uncomfortable if there was an obvious suitor on Jian Mu’s friends list.
After thinking about it, Cen Luo still decided to unfriend her.
The roses on the desk were not thrown away. She just put them in the corner of her drawer.
Cen Luo didn’t remember the slightly wilted roses until the day she left for her business trip.
She glanced at them and then threw them away.
