After She Fell for Me, I Lost My Memory (GL) - Chapter 2
It was nearly midnight when Jian Mu finally saw the messages.
She read through the messages several times, her eyes finally settling on the last one.
The timestamp was an hour ago.
[Let me know when your meeting is over, I’m going to sleep. Don’t wake me up when you get back.]
Her finger hovered over the screen for a moment before she locked her phone, as if nothing had happened.
“Not going to reply? She seems to have sent you a lot of messages,” a woman’s voice suddenly said.
Jian Mu glanced at Zuo Rong, her expression flat, but her displeasure was clear.
The woman raised her hands and laughed apologetically. “My bad, I swear I didn’t mean to look at your messages. But there were so many, they were hard to ignore.”
Jian Mu ignored Zuo Rong, grabbed her coat from the entryway, and put it on, adjusting her hair.
The mirror by the door made Jian Mu’s figure look even taller and more slender. Her chestnut-brown wavy hair fell naturally behind her shoulders. Her normally seductive peach-blossom eyes were completely devoid of warmth, and a teardrop mole under her right eye was particularly striking.
Her face was as delicate as a doll’s, but her personality was as cold as ice.
With just a single glance at her face, she could become the dream of tens of thousands of young men and women in Yun City. Add her wealth and capabilities to that, and…
To be honest, it would be a blessing to have a single night with Jian Mu, but…
“Are you sure you’re not staying the night?” Zuo Rong asked playfully.
The only reply was the sound of the door closing.
“What a rude woman.”
What good is being beautiful? What good is having billions in assets? What good is being exceptionally talented?
She’s still a heartless person.
With people like her, you should just have fun and not develop real feelings.
Zuo Rong thought for a moment. That was her girlfriend who messaged her, right?
She sent so many messages, but Jian Mu didn’t reply to a single one.
So cold and ruthless.
But, it was somewhat understandable.
After all, Jian Mu was a weird person.
I really want to see what a weird person looks like when she goes crazy.
After Cen Luo got home from work, she cooked a few dishes for a late-night meal.
She didn’t know when Jian Mu would be back. She hadn’t replied to her messages, and Cen Luo was worried that calling her would be a disturbance. All she could do was reheat the food twice.
Tomorrow was a day off, so Cen Luo decided to stay up late.
She opened a streaming service and searched for a horror movie.
She chose one that didn’t look too scary from the thumbnail and hit play.
Cen Luo thought she could last at least three minutes, but she had overestimated herself.
She quickly turned off the TV and sat on the couch, the scenes from the movie replaying in her mind. She was a little worried that the ghost would crawl out of the TV.
She had thought that after watching so many horror movies with Jian Mu, she would have gotten braver.
The truth was, she was still a complete scaredy-cat.
To get the terrifying plot out of her head, Cen Luo decided to look for another movie to distract herself.
Zhao Zhao’s drama, You and Your Loveliness, was at the top of the trending list.
Cen Luo was scheduled to interview Zhao Zhao on Monday, so she hit play.
Years ago, romance dramas were Cen Luo’s favorite, especially sweet, lighthearted stories without any angsty parts. But over the years, her taste had changed quite a bit from watching movies with Jian Mu.
Zhao Zhao’s character was truly beautiful in the show, and the personality was great, too: an elegant and proud young woman who was also a little sweetheart, loyal to one person for over a decade.
It was no wonder the show was so popular. The character was well-written, but more importantly, Zhao Zhao had brought the role to life.
After watching for a while, Cen Luo started to get sleepy.
She looked at the food on the table and then at her phone.
The last message was from an hour ago, and still no reply.
Maybe her phone really is out of battery.
Cen Luo lay down on the couch and fell asleep while the show was still playing.
When Jian Mu opened the door, the first thing she saw was Cen Luo sleeping soundly on the couch.
Just as the message had said, Jian Mu didn’t wake her. She closed the door and sat quietly next to her.
When Cen Luo woke up, she saw Jian Mu sitting right in front of her and was startled for a moment.
Then, she sat up and rubbed her eyes.
“You’re back. Why didn’t you wake me up?”
Jian Mu adjusted the TV volume and replied, “You were sleeping.”
So she didn’t want to disturb me?
“Come here.” Cen Luo stared at Jian Mu.
Jian Mu glanced at her, and though she was a little confused, she moved closer.
Cen Luo reached out and wrapped her arms around Jian Mu’s waist. The warmth instantly engulfed Jian Mu, dispelling the chill she had felt earlier.
Cen Luo snuggled her head into Jian Mu’s chest, murmuring as she held her:
“Let me check if you wore your sweater today.”
Jian Mu didn’t move, letting her hold her.
After a while, Jian Mu finally replied, “I did.”
“Jian Mu is a good girl.” Cen Luo’s mood instantly lifted because of Jian Mu’s answer, and she completely forgot about being unhappy earlier.
“Were you in a meeting today? Why didn’t you reply to my messages?” Cen Luo looked up from her chest, her face full of confusion.
Jian Mu looked down at her, remaining silent for a long time.
She neither confirmed nor denied it.
“By the way, when did you change your perfume?” Cen Luo saw that she didn’t want to answer and changed the topic.
As soon as Cen Luo said this, Jian Mu frowned.
“But it smells pretty good.”
