After The Cannon Fodder Died, She Became The Female Lead’s White Moonlight (GL) - Chapter 6
She has nothing but her beauty.
“I don’t care,” Shen Sijin insisted, like a spoiled child. “You have to finish them. If you don’t eat them—”
Che Gulai looked up.
“Then I won’t turn on the air conditioner for you tonight.” Shen Sijin’s clear, moist almond eyes were wide, as if this were a very severe punishment for her.
The small town was near the sea and mountains, and the climate was cool. It would be especially cold at night without the air conditioning on.
Shen Sijin was very sensitive to the cold. When she was a child and was naughty, her mother would always abandon her outside and refuse to let her in. Her clothes were thin, and she would shiver with cold, crying and yelling for her mother to let her in because she was truly freezing.
At that time, she felt that cold and hunger were the most painful punishments.
And they still were.
But Che Gulai only found it amusing.
What kind of threat was this?
Utterly stupid.
Che Gulai hadn’t slept well all night because of her leg pain and was now desperately sleepy. Too lazy to argue with this lunatic any further, she replied perfunctorily, “Mhm.”
Shen Sijin was delighted, her eyes curving slightly, probably feeling that her effort hadn’t been wasted, with tiny, fragmented lights sparkling in her pupils.
Che Gulai felt annoyed and disgusted every time she saw her smile. She suppressed the urge to vomit and waved her hand at her.
“I’m a little tired.”
“Then I won’t disturb your rest,” Shen Sijin said. “I’ll call you when dinner is ready.”
Shen Sijin stood up from the bed. Perhaps she rose too quickly, as her vision swam, and the world spun. Fortunately, she grabbed the corner of the cabinet and didn’t fall.
She shook her head and walked out of the room with unsteady steps.
After Shen Sijin left, Che Gulai looked at the Snowflake Crisps, got off the bed, and limped with the bag of items to the bathroom in the room. With an indifferent expression, she used a glass to smash the Snowflake Crisps, then poured them all into the toilet and flushed them clean.
Her expression remained completely cold throughout, as if she were discarding a piece of dispensable trash.
Shen Sijin would never have guessed that the Snowflake Crisps she had painstakingly bought, shivering from the cold, were entirely dumped by Che Gulai. At the moment, she was happily going out to the yard to feed the dog.
The original owner had a small, brown dog, a very tiny one.
Shen Sijin liked small animals, but her mother didn’t, and even threw away the dog she had raised. Since then, she hadn’t kept any pets.
It seemed that the things she liked could mostly not be hers to keep.
Now that her mother wasn’t around, she could finally keep a dog, and she was naturally happy.
Shen Sijin poured the leftover rice into a bowl, crouched down, rested her head on her knees, and watched the little dog with a faint smile.
The wind outside was strong, and she covered her mouth, coughing heavily several times. Her eyes were fixed on the dog, not leaving it for a second.
She would occasionally stroke it, and the small dog would gently rub against her hand.
She hadn’t been loved since childhood. The small dog was the only creature that liked her.
She liked the little dog that didn’t dislike her.
As dusk fell, Shen Sijin finished making dinner and went upstairs to call Che Gulai for the meal. Che Gulai was bandaging her own wounds and didn’t even lift an eyebrow at the newcomer.
“Do you need my help?”
“No need,” Che Gulai replied coldly.
“Oh.” Shen Sijin touched her nose. “Dinner is ready.”
She walked over. “I’ll help you down.” Her eyes inadvertently swept over the empty dessert box on the nightstand, and she asked in surprise, “You ate them all?”
Che Gulai’s brow twitched slightly. She replied emotionlessly, “Mhm.”
Shen Sijin broke into a grin. She was simple-minded, and only thought that Che Gulai really liked the Snowflake Crisps she bought, and that her efforts had not been in vain.
Few people ever accepted her kindness. Her mother thought she was fake and disgusting, telling her to get lost. Her friends always thought she was mentally ill and didn’t dare to accept anything given by a lunatic.
All her gestures of goodwill fell flat, despite her sincerity.
Gradually, Shen Sijin rarely offered kindness to others anymore; no one wanted to be near her anyway.
She had received so little goodwill that she felt immensely pleased and satisfied that Che Gulai could like something she gave her.
See? My kindness can be accepted by someone.
It seems the female lead isn’t so bad after all. As the female lead, she must be kind.
Che Gulai didn’t understand why she was smiling.
What’s so funny about that?
Psycho.
Shen Sijin was a person who was easily pleased and satisfied. She was extremely happy now, and even Che Gulai’s beautiful face seemed much lovelier to her.
The female lead is actually quite nice.
Meanwhile, Che Gulai increasingly thought she was insane.
During dinner, Che Gulai still said nothing. Shen Sijin, whose emotions were inexplicably high and excited, talked about wild, fantastical things, her eyes gleaming like stars.
Che Gulai couldn’t keep up with her line of thought and only believed she was having a breakdown.
“Can’t you just eat?” Che Gulai interrupted her, unable to tolerate it after Shen Sijin’s third time talking about seeing a woman with a knife trying to slash her today.
“Huh?” Shen Sijin was bewildered for a moment, then laughed, her eyes curving, revealing a row of small white teeth. She said charmingly, “I can’t.”
“What?”
“My stomach is rotting, and there are lots of bugs inside.”
Che Gulai: “…”
What in the world is she talking about?
Author’s Note:
Xiao Jin is a pitiful yet innocent little doggie, an optimistic and smiling child. Currently, Sister Lai (Che Gulai) ignores Xiao Jin, despises her innocence and naivety, and hates her smile. Later, Sister Lai will cry and beg her Xiao Jin to smile at her, but Xiao Jin will no longer want to smile.
Che Gulai: 🙂
Thank you for reading.
