After the Scum Alpha Picked Up Her Rival Omega - Chapter 4
As a cat-type Omega, Si Xia was the only person in the world who could transform into her original feline form.
But this wasn’t exactly a blessing. When a kitten’s mating season coincided with an Omega’s heat, Si Xia couldn’t withstand the dual pressure and would revert to her original form.
Ordinary Omega suppressants were useless for Si Xia. She required the best, most fragrant catnip pheromones to soothe her restlessness; otherwise, she would turn into a beautiful cat with a “poof.”
The only saving grace was that this loss of control only happened at night. During the day, Si Xia could control her body quite well.
The soundproofing in the studio apartment rented by her entertainment company was poor. Yesterday evening, she had been huddled quietly in her “cat house,” only letting out an occasional unbearable whimper. Yet, when she opened her eyes again, she had somehow ended up in a pet store.
That damned Beta assistant had actually tried to sneak her in for a neutering procedure while she was defenseless during her heat!
This was a pure insult to a cat-type Omega!
The more Si Xia thought about it, the angrier she got. “Sister Qiangwei, did the company approve my request to find a new assistant?”
Zhan Qiangwei looked up with an elegant air. “What’s wrong? Did your assistant do something wrong?”
She almost did something irreversible!
Si Xia pressed her palms against the desk, her cheeks puffed out in anger. “While I wasn’t ‘there,’ the assistant tried to sneak my cat in to be neutered! If this were in the heavens, it would be a violation of celestial law!”
Zhan Qiangwei had seen the cat Si Xia raised. Its fur was smooth and it was well-bred; even a partner from a film company had suggested a collaboration with the cat.
Zhan Qiangwei frowned slightly. “That happened?”
Si Xia nodded aggrievedly. “I feel like she doesn’t respect me at all.”
“Alright, I understand.” Zhan Qiangwei opened the company’s recruitment website. “Look through the resumes yourself. Contact whoever you like for an interview.”
“Thank you, Sister Qiangwei!”
Although Si Xia hadn’t contributed much to the company this year, Zhan Qiangwei inexplicably favored her. Si Xia’s life at the company was quite comfortable.
Si Xia leaned half her body over her manager’s desk, her bright, round eyes scanning the photos one by one until she stopped at one.
“Her!”
Zhan Qiangwei carefully read Peng Qi’s resume but couldn’t find a single standout highlight. “Why her? There are many other excellent candidates. Look again.”
Si Xia puffed her cheeks. “Because I think she looks like a little goldfish, and she seems quite gentle.”
“Hmm? What kind of metaphor is that?” Zhan Qiangwei shook her head helplessly. “Since you’ve decided, we’ll go with her.”
With one phone call, Peng Qi arrived looking travel-worn. Her eyes were like two black gemstones, and her cheeks were round and full, looking as if she might blow bubbles at any moment.
Zhan Qiangwei took one look and thought, She really does look like a little goldfish.
Peng Qi had just graduated with a media degree. She was 22, a goldfish-type Omega. Seeing Si Xia, she gave a shy smile. “Hello, Teacher Si Xia.”
Si Xia was very satisfied with this assistant. “Just call me Xiaxia. We’re about the same age.”
Peng Qi nodded. “Okay.”
As evening approached, Si Xia felt uncomfortable again back at her apartment. Si Xia hated spring, because spring was the cat’s mating season, and it lasted for three whole months.
No cat-type Omega could endure it.
During the day, she could endure, but at night, Si Xia’s soft white cheeks flushed, her body grew hot, and sweat dampened the stray hairs on her forehead.
“Ugh, it hurts so much…”
Si Xia propped her hands on the floor and plucked a few catnip leaves to put near her nose. “Why doesn’t it smell good anymore? It was fine yesterday.”
The catnip leaves were small and thin, not lush at all. The scent they emitted was faint and dissipated quickly.
Si Xia suddenly thought of the catnip pheromones on Ming Ruixue. To a cat, that scent was heavenly bliss. If she could just have one “hit,” her cat life would be complete.
No! How could I go huff my rival? That’s so embarrassing for a cat!
But—
In her daze, Si Xia’s cat ears popped out, followed by a fluffy tail. Finally, she transformed into a beautiful Ragdoll cat on the spot. Ignoring everything else, Si Xia ran swiftly toward Ming Ruixue’s residence.
In the Southern City villa district, the premier high-end residence for the wealthy.
Ming Ruixue lay comfortably on a rocking chair and sent a voice message. “Tan Rui, has the money for the manufacturer been transferred?”
Tan Rui replied incredibly fast. “I definitely handled everything Boss Ming ordered. Don’t worry.”
“Got it. Thanks for your help these past two days.”
Ever since Ming Ruixue signed the contract for the production line, Tan Rui had treated her like a deity. Buying a production line on a whim was something Tan Rui couldn’t even qualify for if she emptied her entire savings.
After sending the message, Ming Ruixue toyed with her damp hair. It was too long and dried slowly; she had been sitting on the balcony for an hour, and it was still wet.
She thought Tan Rui wouldn’t reply again, but another voice message came through: “Boss Ming, can you buy me a beef jerky production line too?”
She really thinks I’m a tycoon. Ming Ruixue replied with a meme she had just learned: [Are you a dog? .jpg]
Tan Rui stayed quiet after that.
Ming Ruixue lay back down, her smooth hair spreading out like a black waterfall. She closed her eyes to nap, when suddenly, something tugged at the end of her hair.
Ming Ruixue was home alone, and the doors were locked tight.
There aren’t ghosts, are there?!
Ming Ruixue sat up abruptly and spotted a fluffy little ball of fur.
“Kitty? How did you get in?”
The beautiful cat was currently scratching at the potted plant on the balcony. The catnip that was about to bloom was being devastated.
The cat’s claws were quite fierce, knocking off several mint leaves.
Ming Ruixue felt a sharp pang of pain, as if she herself had been scratched. That pot of catnip was a “clone” of the catnip spirit; its vitality was strong, but it was defenseless against a cat.
“How can you cause trouble the moment you get to my house?” Ming Ruixue picked up the beautiful cat and held it in her lap. “You’re not good at all.”
Si Xia was currently intoxicated by the scent of the catnip plant when she was suddenly lifted into the air and fell into a warmer, softer, and more fragrant embrace.
Wuwuwu—it smells too good! It was like rolling in the clouds.
Si Xia closed her eyes in satisfaction, but the next second, her soft little belly was flipped over.
Ming Ruixue’s fingers toyed with the soft belly fur as she flipped her. “So naughty… are you a little boy cat or a little girl cat?”
“Meow-ooh!”
Si Xia’s blue eyes snapped open, and her paws frantically batted away Ming Ruixue’s restless hand.
Hateful rival! Pervert! You actually want to peep at my privacy!
Seeing the cat wouldn’t let her look, Ming Ruixue realized that to get close to a cat, she needed to use the “gourmet technique.” She took a piece of dried fish out of a bag and waved it in front of the cat.
“Be good, okay? If you let me take one look, this dried fish is yours.”
Fragrant, crispy, deep-fried little yellow croaker!
“Meow…”
Her rival was bullying the cat too much. Si Xia was almost crying from the craving. Just as she was struggling between eating and not eating, she felt the back of her neck being held still, and Ming Ruixue’s face slowly leaned in.
The cool, refreshing scent of catnip wrapped in warm breath pressed close.
Meow-ooh-ooh! Si Xia’s blue eyes went wide.
What is my rival trying to do?!
