After the Scumbag Alpha Tries to Save the Love-Struck and Flips Over (Quick Transmigration GL) - Chapter 13
Lu Father’s expression was also stern: “We initially told you to study pastry making, to learn to be a compliant Omega. You didn’t listen and signed up for Business Administration. I tolerated that, but now you’ve been marked before marriage! What if that Alpha from the Shen family goes back on her word?”
“Afraid I’ll be stuck with a defective product?” A look of sarcasm surfaced on Lu Yan’s lips.
“What are you saying?!” Lu Mother’s eyes widened. She suddenly stood up. “We painstakingly raised you, and that’s your attitude?”
“Yes, you painstakingly raised me for eighteen years, only for me to differentiate as an Omega in the end. You must be very disappointed, right?” Lu Yan clenched her fists and said through gritted teeth, “But so what? Anything an Alpha can do, I can do too!”
“What can you do?!” Lu Father said sharply, “Omegas should stay home to manage the household and raise children! Do you still want to go out and expose yourself in public?”
Lu Yan’s father was a typical chauvinist.
He hadn’t changed at all over the years.
“Manage the household and raise children?” Lu Yan sneered, glancing at Lu Mother. “Is it like you, only able to wait for your husband’s pity, unable to say a word even when he’s stained with another’s pheromones, and ultimately controlling your children? Is that the kind of managing the household and raising children you mean?”
Her mother had unconditionally submitted to her father, controlled by him.
Finally, she had shifted her unvented depression onto Lu Yan, controlling her for eighteen years through the emotional burden of familial ties.
It had only gotten better after Lu Yan went to university.
Lu Yan tilted her head, revealing a slightly eerie smile.
Lu Mother was trembling with rage, the finger she pointed at Lu Yan shaking slightly: “Rebellious, utterly rebellious!”
Lu Yan, contrary to her usual self, took a step forward and grabbed her mother’s hand: “Didn’t you like Shen Su very much? Why are you so opposed to the fact that I managed to snag Shen Su? Is it because I’ve broken free from your control?”
“Enough!” Lu Father seized Lu Yan’s wrist and shoved her hard.
The vast difference in strength between an Omega and an Alpha was a fact Lu Yan could not change.
She was pushed to the ground unexpectedly, and a teacup was knocked down with her, shattering on the floor. Lu Yan’s palm landed on the fragments of ceramics, and beads of blood quickly seeped out.
Indeed, the ten fingers are connected to the heart. The sting in her hand quickly traveled to her heart. It felt like an invisible hand was squeezing her heart.
Lu Father’s expression darkened. He picked up his phone and called the family doctor, instructing him to bring bandaging tools.
Lu Yan moved her palm away from the ceramic fragments, leaving a bloody handprint on the floor. She braced herself and stood up, a look of mockery on her lips.
“Drip, drop, drip—” Blood slowly dripped onto the floor.
But the Lu couple seemed oblivious. One looked away, remaining silent, while the other, the culprit, started blaming her: “I told you, Omegas are so delicate. They fall with just a slight push. They should just stay at home. Fine, since you’ve chosen the Shen family, so be it. After all, they are an influential family in the capital. Meet them tomorrow. Wait for the family doctor to deal with that, we have to go now.”
With that, Lu Father pulled Lu Mother upstairs.
A wave of soreness rose in her nose. Lu Yan wanted to call Shen Su, but her hands were covered in blood.
Five minutes later, the family doctor arrived. He didn’t say much, merely doing what was within his professional duties. After tending to Lu Yan’s wound, he left.
Lu Yan looked at her bandaged hand, pursed her lips, and walked back to her room with heavy steps.
As soon as the door closed, tears poured down her face uncontrollably.
Just then, her phone rang.
It was Shen Su calling her.
Lu Yan hesitated for a moment but answered the call: “Hello?”
Her voice was clearly choked with tears. Shen Su instantly noticed and quickly asked: “Yan Yan, what’s wrong? Did something happen?”
Shen Su had just arrived home. After placing the prepared gifts in the living room, she returned to her bedroom and made this call to Lu Yan.
Lu Yan grabbed a tissue, wiped her tears, and sobbed: “N-nothing… I just got hurt accidentally. My hand is bandaged. It looks very ugly.”
“Does it hurt?” Shen Su’s voice was very soft and gentle, like a feather tickling the tip of Lu Yan’s heart.
Lu Yan cried even harder: “It hurts, I hurt so much…”
Tears quickly soaked the tissue. She pulled out another one, but the tears seemed endless.
“Don’t cry. Wait for me, I’m coming to you.” As soon as she finished speaking, a door-closing sound came from Shen Su’s end.
“What?” Lu Yan’s crying stopped abruptly. She turned to look out the window. A crescent moon hung in the sky.
Shen Su hadn’t hung up the phone. She went to the garage, got into a random car, put the phone on speaker in the driver’s seat in an appropriate position, and said decisively: “I’m coming to you.”
The voice, gentle yet certain, instantly soothed Lu Yan’s heart, and her tears stopped flowing.
“Okay.” Lu Yan held the phone to her ear with one hand, feeling she could hear better this way.
“Has a doctor seen it?” Shen Su kept in contact with Lu Yan while driving.
“The family doctor looked at it.” Lu Yan paused. “Are you driving? Will this conversation distract you? Maybe we should hang up?”
“No need.” Shen Su kept her eyes fixed on the road conditions. “Stay on the line. It’s fine even if you don’t talk. Just let me know you’re okay.”
“Okay.” Lu Yan nodded, walking to the window. “I’ll wait for you.”
For the rest of the drive, there was no speaking from Lu Yan on the phone, only the occasional rustling sound of clothes.
Shen Su drove to the outside of Lu Yan’s neighborhood and was stopped.
Looking up, she saw Lu Yan waiting for her under a tree outside the complex.
She drove the car into a parking space, quickly got out, and walked toward Lu Yan.
Seeing Shen Su approach, Lu Yan’s eyes welled up again. She threw herself into Shen Su’s arms, sobbing softly.
“Why did you come out? Have you been waiting long?” Shen Su gently stroked Lu Yan’s head.
“I couldn’t wait to see you, so I came out early,” Lu Yan muffled against Shen Su’s chest.
Shen Su said softly: “Let me see how your hand is.”
Lu Yan moved out of Shen Su’s embrace and hid her injured hand behind her back: “It’s ugly…”
“But our families are meeting tomorrow. Aren’t you going to attend?” Shen Su took Lu Yan’s uninjured hand and gently shook it.
Only then did Lu Yan extend her hand, looking down: “It’s actually not a big deal. I was just cut by a ceramic shard and bled a little.”
“Does it hurt a lot?” Shen Su looked at the bandaged area on Lu Yan’s hand and asked softly.
Lu Yan stared at Shen Su’s lightly trembling eyelashes and said earnestly: “The pain goes away when I see you, really.”
Shen Su laughed softly: “I’m not some kind of miracle cure.”
“Because when you see the person you like, they are the only one in your eyes and heart.” Lu Yan said this naturally. After saying it, she was slightly stunned herself. Was that an explicit confession?
She paused, then simply closed her eyes, blushing, and said: “Alright, I slipped up. Shen Su, I actually like you.”
