After the Scumbag Alpha Tries to Save the Love-Struck and Flips Over (Quick Transmigration GL) - Chapter 18
“Morning.” Shen Su smiled and reached out to rub Lu Yan’s head. “Can you get up? Do you want me to carry you to wash up?”
Memories of the past seven days involuntarily surfaced in Lu Yan’s mind, her cheeks flushing a deep crimson. “I can do it!”
As if to prove she was more than capable, Lu Yan threw back the covers and stepped barefoot onto the cool floor. Steeling herself, she stood up, staggered for a few steps, and only stabilized herself by leaning against the wall.
She paused for a moment to catch her breath, then stood straight, turned around, and lifted her chin. “I told you I could do it!”
“Right, our Yan Yan is the best!” Shen Su chuckled softly. She got out of bed, stepped onto the floor barefoot, and leaned over to find their slippers.
After putting hers on, she carried the other pair over to Lu Yan and crouched down. “Come, put these on. The floor is cold.”
Lu Yan cooperatively lifted her feet and slid into the slippers. “I’m hungry.”
“Alright, let’s wash up first.”
After freshening up, the two headed downstairs to the dining room.
The meal spread across the table was quite sumptuous. Both of their stomachs growled simultaneously; they shared a look and a laugh before sitting down to eat lunch together.
Lu Yan suddenly remembered something and asked with concern, “The onset of your rut was very sudden that day. I followed you here without telling anyone else… doesn’t that mean I’ve skipped a whole week of classes?”
Shen Su said with a smile, “Then why were you so insistent on coming with me back then?”
“You’re still talking! It’s all your fault! Because I skipped class, my participation points will definitely be docked!” Lu Yan huffed and playfully pounded Shen Su’s chest.
Shen Su explained, “Don’t worry. Butler Tian, who manages this villa, helped you request a leave of absence. Your family has likely been notified as well, so they shouldn’t be too worried.”
Lu Yan’s eyes dimmed, and she let out a cold laugh. “They’re more than ‘not worried.’ They probably wish we were stuck together every day so they don’t have to worry about you abandoning me after taking what you want.”
Shen Su tenderly kissed Lu Yan’s forehead. “Don’t think about those unhappy things. Let’s eat first.”
“Okay.”
After finishing their meal, Lu Yan and Shen Su returned to their apartment together.
Lu Yan didn’t have classes today, but she had missed a week’s worth of material. Even with an official leave, she had to catch up on the content and make up for the assignments.
Shen Su, meanwhile, was preparing her documents for studying abroad.
She had already graduated here; her next step was either entering the family business or going abroad for further studies.
If she joined the family company, she would be incredibly busy and have almost no time for romance.
But studying abroad was different. There would be people to handle the trivialities for her, and it wasn’t as if she was leaving immediately.
With over four months left before going abroad, Shen Su planned to fully win Lu Yan over during this time and then maintain a long-distance relationship.
Long-distance relationships carry high risks, but the risk wouldn’t lie with Lu Yan—it would lie with her.
It was a risk, but also a test. If they survived the test, their relationship would enter a new stage.
As long as she behaved herself, it would work. Then, when the timing was right, she would fake her death to exit the world.
The warm sunlight filtered through the window, spilling onto the study’s carpet.
Lu Yan was busy with her homework when she happened to look up and meet Shen Su’s gentle gaze. She put down her pen, unable to stop her lips from curling upward. “Why do you keep staring at me?”
“Because you’re beautiful,” Shen Su said with total sincerity, blinking those enchanting “peach blossom” eyes.
“You’re not allowed to disturb my studying!” Lu Yan lifted her chin slightly and picked up her pen again.
Shen Su nodded with a smile. “Alright, I won’t look at you.”
Despite saying that, her gaze never wavered.
Lu Yan continued her homework, satisfied.
Perhaps because she was in a good mood, she finished the assignment quickly. She put down her pen and looked up to find that Shen Su was resting her head on the desk.
She crept toward Shen Su and saw her eyes were closed, her breathing slowed.
Out of the corner of her eye, Lu Yan glanced at the computer in front of Shen Su; a game of Plants vs. Zombies was paused on the screen.
Lu Yan curved her lips, thinking to herself: She said she was studying with me, but she was really just keeping me company.
There is a saying: “Companionship is the longest confession of love.”
Lu Yan’s eyebrows curved into crescents; she felt as though she had been dipped into a jar of honey, her whole being filled with sweetness.
Shen Su slowly opened her eyes. Seeing Lu Yan so close, she instinctively reached for the computer’s power button.
Lu Yan laughed softly and whispered in Shen Su’s ear, “Sister, I saw everything! It’s okay. If you’re here to keep me company, just say so. You don’t have to be embarrassed.”
Shen Su gave a helpless smile. “Alright, you caught me. I was just here to be with you.”
“I knew it!” Lu Yan gave Shen Su a quick peck on the cheek.
System: Well, the love-struck miss has been tricked again.
In reality, Shen Su hadn’t been asleep at all, and the game interface on the computer was a deliberate setup. She wanted Lu Yan to feel that she was cared for.
Lu Yan tried to run after the kiss, but Shen Su pulled her back, and she fell right into Shen Su’s lap.
“You think you can run after kissing me?” Shen Su leaned close to Lu Yan, their noses touching, her hands pinning Lu Yan’s shoulders.
“Isn’t your rut over?” Lu Yan’s legs, draped over either side of Shen Su, swayed slowly. Sensing the scent of red wine beginning to emanate from Shen Su, she couldn’t help but curl her toes.
Shen Su hummed. “It’s over. But am I not allowed to kiss you?” As she spoke, she put on a disappointed expression and moved her hands away from Lu Yan.
“Of course you can!” Lu Yan hooked her arms around Shen Su’s neck and proactively closed the distance.
Amidst the tangle of lips and teeth, the phone rang.
The two released each other, clearly wanting more, and both tidied their slightly messy collars.
Shen Su cleared her throat, glanced at the screen, and saw it was a call from Ms. Wen. She answered, “Mom, what’s up?”
“Why did your rut come early this time?” Ms. Wen remembered Shen Su’s last rut was only three months ago.
An Alpha’s rut usually occurs about once every six months.
Shen Su hesitated for a moment, then said softly, “Seven days ago, an Omega at school went into heat, and I was affected.”
Ms. Wen went silent for a moment. “Do you know what that means?”
“I know,” Shen Su pursed her lips.
It meant that her pheromone compatibility with that stranger Omega was higher than her compatibility with Lu Yan.
But so what? Lu Yan was her mission target.
“I don’t care,” Shen Su said, turning her back to Lu Yan and looking out the window.
It didn’t matter if it wasn’t as high as someone else’s. Her pheromones could trigger Lu Yan’s heat, which proved their compatibility wasn’t low, and that was enough.
“That’s good then.” Ms. Wen paused. “Has Yan Yan been with you these past few days? How is she? Have you taken good care of her?”
“Mom, don’t worry. I’m not some scumbag who changes their mind at the first sight of someone else,” Shen Su chuckled.
“Alright, I won’t disturb you two then.” Ms. Wen was about to hang up when she suddenly remembered something. “By the way, that wedding photo studio you booked called me. Since you were in your rut, I helped you cancel the appointment.”
“Okay, I’ll rebook it,” Shen Su rubbed her temples. The sudden rut had disrupted her original plans.
But it was fine; the rut had only served to deepen their bond. She could feel that Lu Yan was even more reliant on her now.
“What’s wrong?” Lu Yan asked somewhat nervously.
