After the Scumbag Alpha Tries to Save the Love-Struck and Flips Over (Quick Transmigration GL) - Chapter 20
Hearing that term, the image of Lu Yan’s face flashed through Shen Su’s mind.
Liang Qiao had moved on to target Li Wen, which meant Lu Yan wasn’t his only goal. What exactly were his criteria for picking targets?
“What is the testing method for Single Pheromone Dependency Syndrome?” Shen Su asked thoughtfully, her knuckles lightly tapping the table.
“Genetic testing. As long as you send anything containing DNA for analysis, it can be detected,” Li Wei paused. “This condition can only be identified after differentiation.”
Shen Su’s gaze sharpened. “So, as long as Liang Qiao gets a single strand of hair, he can send it for testing.”
Li Wei’s pupils contracted, and her voice trembled slightly. “Are you saying Liang Qiao only targeted Wenwen because she has this condition…?”
Shen Su nodded. She even suspected that Lu Yan might have this condition as well.
Li Wei clenched her fists. “Although this illness was discovered a long time ago, there has never been a specific cure.”
“An Alpha’s pheromones are the cure, aren’t they?” Shen Su stood up, rubbing her wrist.
“I understand.” Li Wei also rose from her seat, saying through gritted teeth, “I’ll handle this. Thank you for telling me all this, otherwise…”
Shen Su shook her head. “If I had called the police immediately back then, maybe things wouldn’t have reached this point. I’m just trying to make up for my mistakes.”
“No.” Li Wei’s hand gripped the edge of the table, her knuckles turning white. “Even if you had called the police, he would have been locked up for a few days at most. After that, he still would have looked for targets to strike. Regardless, thank you.”
“You’re welcome. I’ll be going then? Lu Yan is waiting for me.” When Shen Su spoke of Lu Yan, the corners of her mouth curled up, and her gaze softened considerably.
“Go ahead, let’s head to the parking lot together; it’s on the way.” Li Wei walked side-by-side with Shen Su. As they walked, she said, “Actually, when you asked me to help you propose before, I was quite surprised.”
Shen Su smiled and said, “After all, Lu Yan and I didn’t get along before.”
Li Wei shook her head. “It wasn’t that surprising. I always thought you two made a good pair. It’s a pity that for some reason, you were at odds in high school. You didn’t even dare to show kindness to each other’s faces; I had to be the one to step in and help.”
“Fortunately, the misunderstanding has been cleared up.” Shen Su smiled. “Anyway, thanks for organizing the gathering and helping with the proposal.”
“Why be so polite with me?” Li Wei reached her car and bid Shen Su farewell. “See you next time.”
“See you next time.”
Shen Su drove back to Jing University. When she reached the teaching building, a large crowd was pouring out of the classrooms. It was difficult for Shen Su to move against the flow, so she stood under a tree nearby.
The library was right next to the teaching building. Shen Su looked toward the library and happened to see Liang Qiao and Li Wen entering hand-in-hand.
It seemed Li Wei hadn’t told Li Wen yet.
Just as Shen Su intended to follow them, her vision went black as a pair of delicate hands covered her eyes.
Lu Yan intentionally pitched her voice higher and asked, “Guess who?”
Shen Su didn’t need to guess to know who it was, but she refused to say, teasing her on purpose. After a moment of silence, she said, “I don’t think I can guess. What should I do?”
“Just try guessing! There’s a reward if you get it right!” Lu Yan’s front pressed against Shen Su’s back, her chin resting on Shen Su’s shoulder. Her lips moved close to Shen Su’s neck, her breath sending a tingly, numbing sensation through her.
“What reward?” Shen Su chuckled.
“Just guess! I definitely won’t let you down!” Lu Yan pouted, her voice barely able to keep the high pitch.
“Let me think… it must be a certain little kitten, right?” As soon as Shen Su finished, her vision returned. She turned around and looked at Lu Yan with a beaming smile. “Did I guess right? Little kitten?”
“I am not a little kitten!” Lu Yan bared her tiger teeth and made a face at Shen Su, looking incredibly adorable.
“Fine, I guessed wrong. No reward then…” Shen Su turned around with feigned helplessness, as if she were about to leave.
Lu Yan hurriedly grabbed Shen Su’s wrist, walked in front of her, stood on her toes, and left a soft kiss on the corner of her mouth. “Whatever you say goes.”
Shen Su took Lu Yan’s hand, her eyes full of smiles. “Let’s go, time to eat.”
“Okay.”
During lunch, Shen Su told her about Liang Qiao, including the Single Pheromone Dependency Syndrome.
Lu Yan said with some confusion, “But I had a check-up after I differentiated. My parents didn’t tell me I had any illness? Could you be overthinking it? Maybe Liang Qiao just picks wealthy Omegas?”
Theoretically, if Lu Yan had Single Pheromone Dependency Syndrome, it would be wonderful news for Shen Su. It would mean Lu Yan could never accept another Alpha.
But for some reason, Shen Su still hoped Lu Yan was healthy and free of disease. After all, an Omega with this condition can only rely on an Alpha to get through their heat.
If she fakes her death, what will Lu Yan do?
“Didn’t you say last time that your heat came very late? I’ve already booked an appointment with a doctor for you. She’s from Germany. If you’re willing, we can go see her this weekend,” Shen Su said.
Lu Yan hesitated for a moment and then nodded.
On Saturday, the two went to see Doctor Zhou at their scheduled time.
Doctor Zhou was a female Beta. She performed various examinations on Lu Yan very seriously and then told them to return in the afternoon once the reports were ready.
The two had a simple lunch at a restaurant near the hospital, where they unexpectedly ran into an “old acquaintance”—Liang Qiao.
It wasn’t just Liang Qiao; Li Wen and Li Wei were there too.
Shen Su met Li Wei’s complicated gaze and paused. She saw Li Wei stand up, say something to Liang Qiao and Li Wen, and then walk toward the restrooms.
“Let’s go.” Shen Su took Lu Yan’s hand and headed to the restroom as well.
Li Wei was waiting for them at the door. “It seems we still have a mutual understanding.” Her smile was a bit forced.
“What’s wrong?” Shen Su asked.
“My sister is pregnant.” Li Wei rubbed her temples. “Now my parents have accepted their relationship. Li Wen says she doesn’t mind Liang Qiao’s past.”
Since the person involved didn’t care, Shen Su had no choice but to urge Li Wei to keep a close eye on Liang Qiao and never let him touch the Li family’s assets.
Li Wei nodded. To prevent Liang Qiao and Li Wen from noticing anything unusual, she left first.
Lu Yan gripped Shen Su’s hand, tilted her head, and asked, “Sister, why do you know so much about Liang Qiao?”
“Didn’t I explain it to you before?” Shen Su paused. What story had she made up back then?
System: …helping an Omega classmate who was cheated on by a scumbag.
Oh right!
Shen Su continued, “I have a classmate who was tricked by Liang Qiao.”
“Which classmate? What’s her name?” Lu Yan leaned closer, looking like she wanted to get to the bottom of it.
“I forgot her name. Anyway, Liang Qiao is a bad person; you should stay away from him.” Shen Su felt very guilty and quickly changed the subject. “It’s about time. Let’s go back and see Doctor Zhou.”
Lu Yan stared at Shen Su for a while. The words stayed on the tip of her tongue, but she didn’t say them. She just gripped her hand tighter. “Then let’s go.”
Lu Yan lowered her eyelashes, staring at their interlaced fingers, thinking to herself: Shen Su had better have fixed her old habit of being fickle, otherwise…
Doctor Zhou looked at the examination report, her expression somewhat solemn. “It is Single Pheromone Dependency Syndrome.”
Lu Yan clenched her fists but still managed a forced smile. “It’s okay. I’m willing to depend on my Alpha.”
Doctor Zhou shook her head. “I suggest you first go and test your pheromone compatibility.”
“What do you mean?” The smile on Lu Yan’s face froze.
Shen Su gently stroked Lu Yan’s back, signaling her not to be too nervous.
Doctor Zhou adjusted her glasses and said calmly, “If your compatibility is high, then there is naturally no problem. But if your compatibility is low…”
Lu Yan nervously interrupted the doctor. “Then there’s no problem. I can react to my Alpha’s pheromones; our compatibility is fine.”
Doctor Zhou shook her head. “Single Pheromone Dependency Syndrome is not picky. Once you go into heat, regardless of the compatibility level, you will react to that Alpha’s pheromones, and thereafter you will only react to that one person. If your compatibility is not high, problems will easily arise.”
Doctor Zhou didn’t explicitly state what those problems were.
Lu Yan’s lips trembled, but in her heart, she understood exactly what the doctor meant.
If the pheromone compatibility wasn’t high, her Alpha might be driven by desire to be with other Omegas. In short, infidelity.
