After the Scumbag Alpha Tries to Save the Love-Struck and Flips Over (Quick Transmigration GL) - Chapter 21
“I understand. Thank you, Dr. Zhou.” Shen Su intimately put her arm around Lu Yan’s waist and gave a slight nod to the doctor. “We won’t be doing the pheromone compatibility test.”
Dr. Zhou nodded. Watching their receding figures, she let out an imperceptible sigh.
When they reached the parking lot, Lu Yan suddenly pulled her hand away from Shen Su’s. With her eyes reddening, she looked at her and asked, “Why won’t you do the compatibility test? Are you afraid? Do you want to keep lying to yourself?”
Shen Su leaned forward slightly, placing both hands on Lu Yan’s shoulders. Her voice was gentle yet certain. “Because the test is unnecessary. No matter what our pheromone compatibility is, I will never leave you. Yan Yan, you are my only choice.”
Lu Yan’s eyes shifted. “But I’m afraid…”
She was afraid that the person she loved wouldn’t be able to resist instinct and would eventually abandon her.
“Don’t be afraid.” Shen Su hugged Lu Yan tightly. “Trust me, okay?”
“That day, your rut came early—was it because of the Omega pheromones in that classroom?” A single tear slid down from the corner of Lu Yan’s eye, her voice trembling. “See? Any random Omega on the street could have a higher compatibility with you than we do. How can I not be afraid?”
Lu Yan thought to herself: It would be so much better if Shen Su never came into contact with any other Omegas.
“But the person by my side will only ever be you.” Shen Su didn’t know Lu Yan’s inner thoughts; she just tried her best to comfort her. She had to give Lu Yan a sense of security.
“Yes, it will only be me.” Lu Yan nodded, gently nuzzling her head against Shen Su’s neck. “Sister, I only have you, and you can only have me.”
“Then let’s go home, okay?” Shen Su tenderly stroked the back of Lu Yan’s neck, her tone extremely soft.
Shen Su had never been this patient with anyone before.
“Okay, let’s go back to our home.” Lu Yan gripped Shen Su’s hand and forced a smile.
On Sunday, Shen Su stayed home all day to accompany Lu Yan. They went out for a walk after breakfast, and once back, they played with Mu Mu for a while.
After the walk, Ms. Wen sent a document to Shen Su, asking her to consider the wedding flow and the menu, while leaving the rest to an agency. Thus, Lu Yan snuggled in Shen Su’s arms, giving her a kiss for every section they filled out.
Mu Mu, the tabby cat watching from the side, licked its paws, confused by the display. Because of this “distracted” operation, it was nearly noon by the time they finished the form.
Shen Su made two simple bowls of tomato brisket noodles. After lunch, they sat opposite each other in the study. Lu Yan began doing group work on her laptop, while Shen Su logged onto WeChat to message Dr. Zhou, asking if she would be at the hospital on Monday. After getting a positive reply, Shen Su played Plants vs. Zombies on her computer out of boredom.
This time, she was so bored she actually fell asleep, slumped over the desk.
Lu Yan quietly left the study to bring a thin blanket to cover Shen Su, and the sound of her typing slowed down.
Shen Su felt as if she had fallen into an endless dream. The figures in the dream were blurred, their faces indistinguishable. She dreamt of a completely unfamiliar room, but Lu Yan was sitting there, wearing a navy blue qipao, gracefully removing her earrings in front of a dressing table.
“You’re back.” Lu Yan’s tone was devoid of emotion. Her gaze landed on the mirror of the dressing table. Shen Su met Lu Yan’s eyes in the mirror.
“Who were you chatting with in the cafe just now? Who was that Omega?” Lu Yan turned her face slightly, her eyes cold.
A sense of strangeness swirled in Shen Su’s heart. She opened her mouth but couldn’t utter a word. But Lu Yan acted as if she had heard something, or perhaps she knew all along: “Your… childhood sweetheart?”
Shen Su: ?
Lu Yan rose from her chair, her gait very elegant. In Shen Su’s vision, Lu Yan moved closer and closer, but the sense of strangeness grew stronger. Lu Yan pinched her chin: “Have you forgotten what you promised me? You said you would stay with me forever.”
“People who lie have to swallow a thousand needles.”
Alarm bells rang in Shen Su’s head, and she bolted. She ran to the balcony again, looked down, and saw blood pooling everywhere. Lu Yan was lying in the middle of it.
Shen Su snapped her head up. The blanket slid to the floor. She stared tensely at Lu Yan in front of her, her lips pursed.
“What’s wrong, Sister? Did you have a nightmare?” Lu Yan closed her laptop, walked behind Shen Su, and massaged her shoulders. “Don’t be afraid, dreams are all fake.”
Shen Su rubbed her wrist, her gaze sharpening. Was it really fake?
“If you’re really scared, tell me. It won’t be scary once you say it out loud!” Lu Yan leaned close to Shen Su and gave her a small peck on the corner of her mouth.
Shen Su naturally couldn’t tell Lu Yan the contents of the dream, so she could only shake her head. “I don’t remember what the nightmare was, I just felt like I couldn’t wake up.”
“Oh, sleep paralysis! Have you been under a lot of pressure lately? Is the wedding schedule too tight? Is it making you feel out of breath?” Lu Yan naturally wanted to finalize their marriage as soon as possible, but she cared more about Shen Su’s health.
“I’m fine. We only need to set the general details for the wedding and leave the rest to the agency. Don’t worry too much.” Shen Su slowed her tone and spoke warmly.
Lu Yan pursed her lips. “Then… are you worried about the Single Pheromone Dependency Syndrome?”
Shen Su was slightly taken aback. Since returning home yesterday, the two had intentionally avoided this topic.
“I’m not too worried. I believe in my self-control.” What she was actually worried about was what Lu Yan would do after she left. This was the reason she was seeing Dr. Zhou again.
“Okay.” Lu Yan hugged Shen Su’s neck and pressed her face against hers. “I believe in you too.”
Monday Afternoon. After dropping Lu Yan off at school, Shen Su went to the hospital.
“Dr. Zhou, if the partner of a patient with Single Pheromone Dependency Syndrome passes away, what should be done?”
The pheromones of every Alpha and Omega in the world are unique and irreplaceable.
Dr. Zhou said solemnly, “Suppressants are useless, but pheromone extract works. This condition is easy to detect, so the partner of a patient usually extracts pheromones from their scent gland to prepare for emergencies.”
Shen Su pondered for a moment and said, “If an Omega can live to be 100 years old, and assuming their heat comes once every two months, she would have 480 heats in her lifetime. How much pheromone extract would I need to prepare?”
Dr. Zhou gave Shen Su a strange look. “One heat uses 5ml of extract. That means you would need 2400ml. But your calculation is a bit off, isn’t it? It’s not like you’re going to die tomorrow…”
