After the Scumbag Alpha Tries to Save the Love-Struck and Flips Over (Quick Transmigration GL) - Chapter 24
Shen Su grabbed Lu Yan’s wrist and narrowed her eyes slightly. “Are you sure?”
Lu Yan’s eyes darted around a bit guiltily. Shen Su had helped her block quite a few drinks today. In reality, the one with the poor alcohol tolerance was her, not Shen Su.
Lu Yan stammered, “You said it… it gets better with practice.”
“When did I ever…” Shen Su paused, remembering the chiffon cake incident from not long ago. She changed her tune: “You can’t practice your tolerance out in public!”
Lu Yan broke into a smile, lifted her chin slightly, and pressed a kiss against Shen Su’s neck. “Fine, I’ll practice at home. But you have to stay with me.”
“Of course.” Shen Su cupped the back of Lu Yan’s head and kissed her.
Dense, lingering kisses swept over Lu Yan like a gentle spring rain.
“Sister, I love you so much. You’ll stay with me forever, right?”
Amidst the sinking and floating of passion, Lu Yan asked this question repeatedly.
However, Shen Su couldn’t answer either of those points. She could only release a thicker scent of pheromones to soothe Lu Yan’s heart.
The next day, the two didn’t wake up until eleven. Lu Yan had only taken two days of wedding leave.
“The honeymoon is on credit for now. Once I graduate, let’s go traveling!” Lu Yan didn’t want to get out of bed, so she tangled her legs around Shen Su’s, refusing to let her get up either.
“Then you’d better hurry up,” Shen Su said jokingly. If Lu Yan couldn’t graduate early, she wouldn’t be able to “pay back” this honeymoon.
System: Host, you really don’t have to be in such a rush.
Shen Su: Who told me that the time spent in each world would be reflected on my face in real-time?
In other words, if her 20-year-old self stayed in this world for a year, she would be 21 when she entered the next world. This was why she couldn’t stay with Lu Yan until they were old and gray; she had to complete her missions as quickly as possible.
“I will.” Lu Yan took Shen Su’s hand. “Let’s get up. We have to go get our marriage certificate registered this afternoon!”
“Alright. After we get the certificate, I’ll go to school with you to apply for those credits.” Shen Su lifted Lu Yan out of the covers and carried her into the bathroom.
After getting ready, they took their identification documents and went to queue at the Civil Affairs Bureau. It seemed like an ordinary day, but the queue was exceptionally long. Since they arrived late, they were quite far back in line.
After standing for a while, Lu Yan felt a bit unsteady and leaned her entire weight into Shen Su’s embrace. “Why are there so many people today?”
Shen Su raised an eyebrow and tightened her grip around Lu Yan’s waist. “Probably because today is an auspicious day on the lunar calendar.”
After queuing for over an hour, they finally finished the registration and received their marriage certificates. The smile on Lu Yan’s face grew even brighter. Holding the little red booklets, she said giggling, “Look! From now on, we’re people with the ‘little booklets’!”
The giant stone in her heart finally fell to the ground.
Shen Su hummed a response and smilingly kissed the hand Lu Yan was using to hold the certificate.
Lu Yan opened her arms toward Shen Su. “My legs are tired. Carry me on your back!”
“Okay.” This wasn’t difficult for Shen Su; Lu Yan was very light.
Most couples left the Civil Affairs Bureau holding hands; those being carried out on a back were a minority of the minority, attracting quite a few stares.
Parking near the bureau was difficult, so Shen Su had parked 500 meters away. She carried Lu Yan the entire way. As they neared the parking spot, Lu Yan proactively slid down and walked down the street hand-in-hand. “Let’s browse for a bit. I have class tomorrow, so I won’t have time.”
“Alright.” Shen Su paused. “Let’s go back to the car first. It’s not very comfortable to browse in these clothes.”
Both were dressed quite formally in custom-made suits.
“Hmm? You were prepared? I didn’t say anything about going out after getting the certificate.” Lu Yan blinked. “It seems… your ‘mutual understanding’ skill has leveled up!”
Shen Su quickly kissed Lu Yan’s cheek. “Thank you for the compliment, Wife!”
It was the first time Lu Yan had heard Shen Su call her that. Instantly, a flush of red rose to her cheeks.
Shen Su gently poked Lu Yan’s reddened face and teased, “Why are you embarrassed? We have the certificate now.”
“I am not embarrassed!” Lu Yan put her hands on her hips and gave a soft huff.
“Alright, alright. Let’s change first.” Shen Su pulled Lu Yan into the back seat of the car.
They emerged having just swapped their jackets. Near the Civil Affairs Bureau was an old street lined with various snack stalls featuring local delicacies from all over.
Lu Yan had been strictly raised as a child; the Lu couple kept a close eye on her and never allowed her to eat at roadside stalls. As they approached the street, various aromas wafted toward them. Lu Yan’s eyes lit up, and she swallowed hard.
Shen Su chuckled. “Craving it?”
Lu Yan nodded like a chick pecking grain. “Today is the first day of our marriage, a new beginning. We can do things we’ve never done before!”
Lu Yan paused, looked at Shen Su, and pouted. “Sister, have you been here before? Is that why you brought me here? So I’m the only one who’s never done this, while Sister has already been here with someone else…”
As she spoke, Lu Yan’s tone turned sarcastic again.
Before her transmigration, Shen Su indeed hadn’t been here. Furthermore, before her differentiation, her parents had been very strict and she hadn’t eaten at roadside stalls either; it was only after differentiation that she let herself loose.
Shen Su said with feigned calm, “I have been here. My parents brought me. They said this street was already here when they got married.”
She was telling the truth; as the Shen Su of this world, she had indeed visited this street with her parents more than once.
“So that’s how it is!” Lu Yan linked her arm intimately with Shen Su’s. She couldn’t help but sigh, “Uncle and Auntie’s relationship is so good…”
Shen Su’s eyes dimmed. In her original life, she had lived a life similar to Lu Yan’s—parents at odds, life feeling like a cage.
After her sigh, Lu Yan was quickly distracted by a smoking barbecue stall. “Sister, I want to eat that! It smells so good!”
“Okay.” Shen Su snapped back to reality and led Lu Yan to the stall.
“What can I get for you two? There are plates over there, just put the skewers you want on them,” the owner called out while busy grilling. “Do you want spicy?”
Shen Su glanced at Lu Yan and said, “No spice.”
“Coming right up!”
They picked a few skewers from the refrigerated cabinet—not many, as the street was long and Lu Yan wanted to eat her way through it. After waiting about ten minutes, they finally got their skewers and continued browsing while eating.
They finished the skewers quickly. Lu Yan looked at a craftsman making sugar men nearby and said in awe, “So impressive…”
“Shall we… buy one?” Shen Su curved her lips and whispered in Lu Yan’s ear, “We’ll have our names written.”
“Okay.” Lu Yan pulled Shen Su toward the stall.
After explaining their request to the craftsman, they paid. The craftsman’s movements were fluid, and the characters written in maltose were beautiful. After writing both their names, he drew a Cupid’s arrow to link them together, then held up the sugar man with two skewers. “Here, hold it steady.”
Shen Su and Lu Yan each held one skewer. The one closest to Shen Su’s name was Lu Yan’s.
“Let’s go somewhere with fewer people to eat the sugar,” Lu Yan whispered.
“Okay.” They walked out of the street and sat in a nearby pavilion, slowly eating each other’s names.
As the sugar grew less, they leaned closer and closer until the last bit was crushed and eaten. Lu Yan proactively hooked her arms around Shen Su’s neck and captured her sweet, sticky lips.
