After Transmigrating as a Scum Alpha, Both the Heroine and I Fell Hard (Transmigration) - Chapter 10
This world wasn’t much different from the one before she transmigrated, but the appliances in this house were several levels more high-end. For example, the faucet in front of her—which had a ridiculous number of buttons but no handle and no text prompts—was giving her a headache.
Song Chenxi sensed the confused gaze of the Omega beside her, so she pretended to be composed and continued her “research.”
“Ahem…” After studying it fruitlessly for a while, she cleared her throat guiltily and asked weakly, “Excuse me, how do you turn this thing on?”
As Song Chenxi spoke, she turned to look at Ruan Tang. For a fleeting second, the frown Ruan Tang wore all day relaxed slightly, and a faint, almost imperceptible hint of a smile drifted through her beautiful almond eyes.
Is she smiling?
Is she smiling at me?
Song Chenxi repeated these two lines over and over in her head. She didn’t even dare to breathe, fearing that the slightest movement would shatter this rare moment of warmth.
“Press this green button for sterile water. Press this yellow button, and vegetable wash will come out…” Ruan Tang explained slowly while demonstrating.
Song Chenxi watched her fair profile and the slight curve of the gland at the back of her neck. With the faint scent of jasmine lingering at the tip of her nose, her cheeks suddenly felt a bit hot.
There was a high-end beauty salon next to the hospital where she used to work, with a constant stream of beautiful women coming and going. Song Chenxi had seen all kinds of beauty, but this was the first time she had seen someone like Ruan Tang—someone whose beauty was so natural yet looked impossibly unreal. It was contradictory, yet harmonious. She had the kind of looks one is born with, yet she was so perfect she didn’t seem human. Perhaps this was a true “divine visage.”
Ruan Tang pressed the yellow switch again, and the water cascaded down. Song Chenxi hurried to put her small handful of greens under the stream to rinse them, splashing water everywhere in the process.
In her previous life, she mostly ate at the hospital cafeteria to save time and money. All her manual dexterity had been dedicated to surgical procedures.
“Master, let me do it.” Ruan Tang took the greens and quickly washed them clean. The washed vegetables were vibrant green and looked delicious.
“Ruan Tang, you’re amazing!” Song Chenxi’s praise was heartfelt. After all, she was a total disaster in the kitchen; as long as someone provided food and drink, she was happy.
Next, Ruan Tang took a long-handled noodle pot from the cabinet, added an appropriate amount of water, and brought it to a boil. Meanwhile, she prepared a frying pan and sprayed a little olive oil on the bottom.
“Master, I’ll make you braised noodles with fried eggs.” Her voice wasn’t loud, but Song Chenxi heard it clearly. Ruan Tang taking the initiative to speak calmly was a good sign of progress.
Song Chenxi’s ringtone was incredibly annoying. She wanted to ignore it, but the caller was persistent. When she saw the name “Water Snake,” a wave of disgust rose in her heart.
This She Min was the original host’s best friend in name, but in reality, she was just a hedonistic bad influence. As a doctor, Song Chenxi had a different perspective on time. She felt time was increasingly precious: one minute could be used to eat a potato chip, or to answer a phone call; one minute could save a life, or be used to savor a small moment of happiness. For years, she had intentionally reduced “ineffective” socializing to maximize her limited time.
However, a thought suddenly occurred to her. She was full of questions about Ruan Tang—about her family background and her feelings toward the original host. Song Chenxi wanted to understand everything in detail as soon as possible. So, she pressed the answer button.
“Oh, my little ancestor, you finally picked up.” The person on the other end seemed to be in a very noisy environment, with blaring electronic music.
“Mm.”
“Where the hell are you?”
“Home.”
She Min: “…”
The original host was usually enthusiastic with her “trashy” friends. This sudden brevity made She Min feel awkward, and she didn’t know what to say for a moment. After a few seconds of silence, She Min spoke first. “It’s a beautiful spring day. What are you doing cooped up at home? Don’t tell me you’re planning something big tonight?”
She paused for a second and continued: “What are we playing with this time? Cigarette butts? Or… prods? Don’t forget to send a video! Hey, hey, hey, let the group know before you send the video so I can get ready.”
Song Chenxi knew exactly what She Min was talking about. Her face went dark, her teeth gritted, and she cursed the woman a thousand times in her head.
“What do you want?” Her voice was as cold as ice.
She Min gave a dry laugh. “What’s wrong? Your tone…”
“If it’s nothing, I’m hanging up.”
“Wait, wait, wait!” She Min raised her voice. “When are you free? White Whale is waiting for you.”
Song Chenxi didn’t know that White Whale was a private club.
“Tsk, stop acting!” She Min laughed for a long time. “It’s your place, you don’t know? When are you coming? I’ll prepare two Omegas for you—fair skin, beautiful faces, long legs, all newly differentiated and tender! Let me tell you a secret, there are other surprises too!”
Without waiting for a response, She Min teased in a high-pitched voice: “I’m only telling you this because we’re sisters. Come if you want!” She hung up first.
A second later, Song Chenxi received a WeChat message from She Min with the time and location. She gave a cold laugh, set her phone to silent, and placed it face down on the table.
While Song Chenxi was on the phone, Ruan Tang had finished the braised noodles. She was holding the bowl, about to open the glass door. Song Chenxi lunged to the door. She pulled it open and reached out to take the noodle bowl from Ruan Tang’s hands.
“Hiss—” So hot!
Ruan Tang paused as she watched Song Chenxi. “Thank you for opening the door, Master, but let me carry it.” With that, Ruan Tang took the bowl back. After setting out the bowl and chopsticks, she reflexively stood stiffly by Song Chenxi’s side.
Noticing Ruan Tang’s behavior, Song Chenxi gently put down her chopsticks and looked up at her tenderly. “Where is our Ruan Tang’s dinner?”
Ruan Tang froze for a second, then clenched her fists tightly and whispered, “I’m not hungry.”
Looking at the large bowl of noodles topped with two golden fried eggs, Song Chenxi understood instantly. The portion wasn’t large; Ruan Tang was worried she wouldn’t have enough to eat, so she gave it all to her.
“Did you not leave any for yourself?” As soon as she asked, Song Chenxi realized it was a foolish question. Ruan Tang had never held anything back from her.
Without waiting for an answer, Song Chenxi got up, went to the kitchen, and brought back a small bowl and another pair of chopsticks.
“Ruan Tang, come here,” Song Chenxi placed the bowl down, pulled out a chair, and waved to her. “Sit here and eat with me.”
Ruan Tang shook her head repeatedly, her face written with the word “no.” Song Chenxi walked behind her, placed her hands gently on the girl’s shoulders, and with a bit of pressure, guided her toward the chair.
“What a coincidence, I’m not hungry either.” After Ruan Tang sat down, Song Chenxi returned to her seat. “I won’t be able to finish such a large bowl. I don’t like wasting food, so help me out, okay?”
Seeing the other remained silent, Song Chenxi added: “Half for you and half for me, that’s how we stay close.”
Ruan Tang looked into Song Chenxi’s eyes. This attitude was so unusual that it was difficult to adapt to. She hid one hand under the table and pinched her thigh hard.
It hurt!
So, it wasn’t a dream.
