After Transmigrating as a Scum Alpha, Both the Heroine and I Fell Hard (Transmigration) - Chapter 8
The wind in the courtyard wound through the late spring flowers, tousling the bangs on Ruan Tang’s forehead.
It also tousled her heart.
She looked as though she had heard something unbelievable. She snapped her head up, her eyes meeting Song Chenxi’s smiling ones.
“No, it’s still early. I… I’ll be back in a flash.” Ruan Tang insisted, her voice trembling noticeably.
She didn’t know if her Master was telling the truth. If her Master was merely testing her, she wouldn’t be able to avoid a brutal beating today.
Song Chenxi scratched the back of her head with her free hand. Even though they lived under the same roof and had shared countless moments of physical intimacy as the most “closely tied” individuals, their mode of interaction was filled with testing, dread, and various forms of inequality.
Ruan Tang was living a life that was far too exhausting.
Although Song Chenxi didn’t know Ruan Tang’s full past, she could clearly feel that the girl was carrying a burden far beyond what someone her age should bear. If she didn’t save her, Ruan Tang would eventually be crushed by it.
Looking at Ruan Tang’s shivering frame, her heart ached.
“There’s really no need. I’m not lying to you. This isn’t a test; it’s the truth.” Having said that, she walked slowly to Ruan Tang’s side.
Ruan Tang didn’t dare retreat; she was afraid of provoking her Master. She gripped the hem of her shirt with both hands, her lower lip bitten so hard it was nearly bleeding.
Song Chenxi gave a bitter smile and looked toward the front door. “Come on, let’s go inside.”
Ruan Tang gave a small “um” and followed obediently at her side. Her mind was full of confusion, and her focus wavered. Suddenly, she tripped over something. With a muffled thud, Ruan Tang fell.
Song Chenxi spun around at the sound and found Ruan Tang slumped on the ground, her slender ankle twisted at an unnatural angle. She immediately rushed to Ruan Tang’s side and knelt down to check for injuries.
Ruan Tang jolted in fear, hunching her shoulders. Her wrists, supporting her on the ground, trembled incessantly.
“Ruan Tang, are you okay?”
As soon as Song Chenxi spoke, Ruan Tang’s eyes went wide, her face a mask of horror and panic.
Song Chenxi suddenly recalled that in the book, the original host loved “appreciating” the Omega’s injuries. The more pain the Omega felt, the more excited the host became.
“Ruan Tang, relax your body. I won’t hurt you. I just want to see if you’re injured.”
With that, Song Chenxi reached out to take hold of Ruan Tang’s ankle.
“Hiss—!”
Ruan Tang bit her lip in pain, her eyes brimming with tears.
Song Chenxi removed the girl’s slipper. Seeing the joint beginning to turn blue and purple, her beautiful brows knitted together instantly. “This is bad. It looks like a sprain.”
She pressed a finger against the swelling. Applying a tiny bit of pressure caused the other girl to let out a sharp cry of pain. An Omega’s pain receptors were far more sensitive than the average person’s; sensations that might be negligible to an Alpha were infinitely magnified in their bodies.
“Does it hurt?” Song Chenxi stopped immediately, moving to press another area that was even more swollen. “How about here?”
“Ah—!” Ruan Tang squeezed her eyes shut, and two lines of tears escaped.
At the same time, she instinctively raised her hand to make the Alpha stop, but in her panic, her fingernail accidentally caught the Alpha’s face.
She snapped her eyes open and looked at the Alpha in terror. “I’m… I’m sorry, Master! I… I didn’t mean to, I…”
The little thing had actually used a bit of force. Before long, a red scratch appeared on Song Chenxi’s pale, elegant face.
“It’s fine,” she said flatly.
However, the Omega didn’t lower her guard. Instead, she began to shake even harder with fear.
There was a reason Ruan Tang reacted this way. Once, when the original host was bullying her roughly, she had resisted. The iron chain on her wrist had swung and hit the host’s face. The host flew into an immediate rage, her eyes turning vicious. She had pinned Ruan Tang by the throat, growling through gritted teeth: “You bitch, you dare hit me?”
She didn’t let go until Ruan Tang’s face turned purple and she was gasping for air, followed by an even deeper violation. That time, Ruan Tang bled and was in pain for the entire night.
Thinking of this, Song Chenxi felt like she was going to explode with rage.
“It’s my fault. I’m really fine. Don’t be afraid. It wasn’t your fault, you don’t need to blame yourself.” While speaking, Song Chenxi helped Ruan Tang put her slipper back on.
Ruan Tang didn’t dare make a sound. She kept her gaze downward, her lashes wet with moisture.
“Let me help you up.”
Ruan Tang stole a glance at her, her face deathly pale. Song Chenxi carefully supported her. “Try to see if you can walk.”
Ruan Tang obeyed and tried to put weight on her ankle. Suddenly, her shoulder dipped, her knee buckled, and she lost her balance, falling once again.
In that instant, the sound of breaking porcelain reached Song Chenxi’s ears.
Ruan Tang was so terrified she covered her mouth with her dust-covered hands, a small, mournful wail escaping her throat.
She was dead for sure this time.
