After Transmigrating as a Scum Alpha, Both the Heroine and I Fell Hard (Transmigration) - Chapter 9
Ruan Tang let out a soft, hopeless sob before bending down to pick up the porcelain shards.
Song Chenxi gasped and immediately caught her hand. “Ruan Tang, don’t do that! You’ll get hurt!”
Ruan Tang froze, not daring to nod, let alone shake her head.
“Let’s go. Home.”
That one word—”home”—made a chill run down Ruan Tang’s spine. She had broken a flowerpot given to her Master by a friend; her Master was surely going to punish her now.
“Waaaah… Master, I’m sorry. I really, I really didn’t do it on purpose. I… I was wrong. Please don’t hit me, waaaah…”
Song Chenxi glanced at the shattered celadon pot and understood why Ruan Tang was apologizing. A wave of bitterness washed over her heart. She pursed her lips into a smile and said softly, “It’s okay. Those things aren’t important.”
Ruan Tang couldn’t believe it. She shook her head frantically. “No, no, no. Important. Very important. Anything Master likes… is… very… very important…”
Her tears fell like pearls. Song Chenxi was heartbroken.
“Ruan Tang, be good. Stop crying, okay?” Song Chenxi reached out and gently wiped the tears from Ruan Tang’s face. “I don’t like them anymore, alright?”
Ruan Tang looked at the broken pot, then at Song Chenxi, her eyes vacant.
How is that possible?
In the past, an aromatherapy candle she couldn’t even name or a pair of high heels were far more precious to her Master than she was.
Song Chenxi applied a bit of force and pulled Ruan Tang up. Ruan Tang’s legs were weak and a bit numb; she instinctively tumbled into Song Chenxi’s arms.
Song Chenxi caught her with both hands. As they locked eyes, time seemed to stop. Only the dissolving wind whispered around them, gentle and intimate.
“Are your legs numb?”
Ruan Tang snapped back to her senses, blinked, and whispered, “I… no, I’m okay now.”
Looking at the girl’s trembling legs and the ankle that was more swollen than before, Song Chenxi narrowed her eyes and said, “Come here. I’ll carry you.”
Before she could react, Ruan Tang felt herself become light. Her feet left the ground as she was carefully cradled in the Alpha’s arms.
Her Master had never held her like this. In the past, if she made a mistake, she was dragged across the floor by her hair.
Is there some other punishment waiting for me?
She didn’t dare think further. Her eyes remained fixed on the cracked flowerpot on the ground, not daring to make a sound for a long time.
Once inside, Song Chenxi took off her coat. The weather was getting warmer, and after the recent incident, a fine sheen of sweat had broken out across her back.
“Is there a first aid kit in the house?” she asked.
Injuries were a daily occurrence for Ruan Tang, so the kit was always stocked with various bruise and trauma medications. She nodded, but as soon as her feet touched the floor, Song Chenxi pressed down on her shoulders. “Tell me where it is. I’ll get it.”
Ruan Tang didn’t dare disobey. She sat on the sofa, motionless.
After Song Chenxi brought the first aid kit, she went to the kitchen. When she returned, she held a small white towel and a bowl of ice. She used a wet wipe to very gently clean the dust and dirt from Ruan Tang’s ankle, then wrapped a few ice cubes in the towel and pressed it against the swollen joint.
Ruan Tang flinched at the cold sting. She withdrew her foot slightly, enduring it with nervous tension.
“Ruan Tang, it might hurt a little, but try to bear with it.” After saying this, Song Chenxi’s gaze turned serious. “Has this ankle been injured before?”
She was a keen observer. Ruan Tang’s other foot was normal, the ankle looking smooth and healthy. This one, however, looked abnormally distorted; even a bad sprain wouldn’t usually cause this much swelling.
Ruan Tang nodded, then a second later, shook her head in terror. “No, no it hasn’t!”
Song Chenxi’s eyes flickered, her movements becoming even more gentle. She knew the nod was instinct, while the shake was fear. So, there was an old injury. She gave an “um” of acknowledgment. Since Ruan Tang didn’t want to talk about it, Song Chenxi didn’t push. After all, the girl didn’t fully trust her yet.
The original book focused entirely on “adult scenes,” leaving many details unclear. Had Ruan Tang always been this thin? Did her parents not care about her?
With these questions in mind, Song Chenxi removed the ice and applied a trauma spray to the injury, her movements cautious for fear of hurting the little Omega.
Seeing Ruan Tang’s confused and terrified expression, Song Chenxi suddenly remembered other Yuri ABO novels she had read. She felt it would be best to state her position clearly.
“Ruan Tang, I’m sorry. I’ve made you suffer this past year. I know I haven’t been a proper Alpha partner, and I’ve hurt you often. But… it won’t happen again.”
Ruan Tang turned deathly pale and shook her head frantically. “No, Master is… very good to me.”
Song Chenxi: “…” Even she didn’t believe that.
She wrapped Ruan Tang’s ankle with a bandage and packed away the first aid kit. Ruan Tang wasn’t moved by the promise at all. She remembered the Alpha once grabbing her by the hair, slapping her face, and saying dismissively: “What the hell are you crying for? It was just one beating. Be good, and it won’t happen again.”
Every promise was followed by even more intense torture and humiliation.
Sensing Ruan Tang’s thoughts, Song Chenxi knelt before her and looked up at her. “Everything before was my fault. But from now on, I will absolutely never hurt you again. Please believe me.”
Ruan Tang’s eyes darted away. The events of the past year were like an abyss swallowing her, leaving her with no hope. She didn’t dare to believe.
At 8:00 PM, Song Chenxi felt hungry. “Let me see what we have to eat.” She walked toward the kitchen.
She pulled open the double-door fridge, and the smile on her enthusiastic face froze. Two bags of noodles, two boxes of sterile eggs, and a handful of greens.
Song Chenxi: “…” It really is empty and clean.
Ruan Tang struggled to her feet and limped into the kitchen.
“Ahahaha, we have noodles! Great, right?” She looked at the nervous Ruan Tang. “Let’s just have something simple then.”
“I’m… I’m sorry.”
Hearing Ruan Tang’s apology, Song Chenxi felt a pang of sadness. She turned around, taking out the ingredients while saying meaningfully: “Ruan Tang, you haven’t done anything to be sorry for. You don’t need to apologize.”
Ruan Tang had never heard such words before and didn’t know how to respond. Song Chenxi looked at her and gently patted her head; her hair was dry and soft.
Ruan Tang was baffled. Since her earliest memories, she had been required to “apologize.” To her father, her mother, and her Master… it was as if she owed a debt to the entire world.
“Ruan Tang? I’ll make dinner today. Your foot is injured, go rest.”
Ruan Tang snapped out of her daze. Song Chenxi was already at the sink, about to wash the greens. How could she let her Master cook? Ignoring the pain in her foot, she moved as fast as she could to Song Chenxi’s side.
“Master, let me do it.”
“No, I’ll do it.”
Just as Song Chenxi finished speaking, she narrowed her eyes, staring at the faucet like an old person trying to read a phone screen.
