After Transmigrating as a Scumbag Alpha, the Reborn Omega Always Wants to Cling (GL) - Chapter 17
At eight in the evening, Fu Qingyun and Su Ziqin arrived at the agreed-upon location. As a single Alpha, it was no surprise that Li Zhengyin had not chosen a place like Charm Palace.
She had selected a small, pleasant bar. It was nice, and although there were no private rooms, it wasn’t loud.
Li Zhengyin was sincere and waited for Fu Qingyun at the entrance.
“Ms. Fu.”
It wasn’t their first meeting. Fu Qingyun nodded to her. “Ms. Li.”
Seeing Su Ziqin, Li Zhengyin smiled and greeted her. “The little one came too.”
Then, Li Zhengyin leaned in mysteriously and whispered to Su Ziqin, “Little one, you need to keep a close eye on your Alpha tonight.”
“Why?” Su Ziqin asked softly.
“Sigh.” Li Zhengyin’s voice was even quieter. “I came with two old geezers from my team. They’re planning to get your Alpha drunk.”
Upon hearing this, Su Ziqin’s eyes lit up instead of showing concern. “Count me in.”
“What?” Li Zhengyin thought she had gone deaf. She then saw the dangerous look in Su Ziqin’s eyes and understood.
With a knowing smile, Li Zhengyin patted Su Ziqin’s shoulder. “Kid, you’re great! You have ambition!” An Omega who didn’t want to dominate their Alpha was not a good Omega.
Su Ziqin knew Li Zhengyin had the wrong idea. She just wanted to break through the scumbag’s cold exterior. What would a drunk Fu Qingyun be like? She was too curious.
And while I’m at it, I can also try to advance my plan. Maybe if the scumbag gets drunk, this thing will be a success, and then we’ll see if she still dares to bring up the fake marriage.
“Don’t worry, little one, I’ll help you,” Li Zhengyin promised, patting her chest.
Su Ziqin raised an eyebrow. “For that attitude, Sister Yin, I’ll introduce you to ten or eight Omegas.”
“That would be great.”
The two of them were deep in conversation, unaware that Fu Qingyun had already heard every word. Her hearing was just too sensitive.
12138, hiding in Fu Qingyun’s brain, was astonished by their conversation. Trying to get someone with 75% brain development and complete control over their body cells drunk? That’s a fool’s errand.
Li Zhengyin led Fu Qingyun and Su Ziqin to a booth. Chen Qianqian and Jiang Xiao stood up to greet them.
“These two are the pillars of my team: Jiang Xiao and Chen Qianqian.”
Fu Qingyun politely extended her hand to them. “Hello, I’m Fu Qingyun from Fir Capital.”
Both of their faces looked unnatural for a moment. The rumors were not to be believed. How could anyone say Fu Qingyun was ugly? She’s beautiful.
“Hello, I’m Chen Qianqian.”
“Jiang Xiao.”
After greeting Fu Qingyun, they couldn’t help but glance at each other, their eyes filled with surprise.
Jiang Xiao leaned into Chen Qianqian’s ear. “Didn’t they say Fu Qingyun was terribly ugly and arrogant?”
Chen Qianqian shook her head and whispered, “You’re asking me? Who am I supposed to ask?”
“So, should we stick to the original plan?” Jiang Xiao asked.
Chen Qianqian nodded. “Yes, original plan. We’re going to Fir Capital for work, not to look at faces. What if she’s not sincere?”
“Alright, I’ll listen to you.”
Seeing that they had made a decision, Li Zhengyin called a server to order drinks. Jiang Xiao and Chen Qianqian quietly gave the server a few instructions.
The server’s eyes widened in shock. Jiang Xiao patted the server’s shoulder. “Go.”
“Oh, okay.”
Soon, a server came with a cart. Three servers noisily placed drinks on the table, quickly filling it up.
“Customer, are you sure you want to open all of them?” the server asked Li Zhengyin uncertainly.
Li Zhengyin glanced at Fu Qingyun’s calm expression and coughed. “Open them all.”
The servers then spent more than ten minutes opening bottles. The table was full of drinks: red wine, beer, foreign liquor, and a few cocktails.
Su Ziqin’s eyes widened. Li Zhengyin hadn’t said they were going to be this ruthless. She secretly glanced at the scumbag’s unchanging expression. She’s so interesting!
“We heard that Ms. Fu invited our Ms. Li to Fir Capital, so we wanted to host this get-together to thank you,” Jiang Xiao said, his tone sounding anything but thankful.
“Yes,” Chen Qianqian said, grabbing a glass and pouring Fu Qingyun a full one of foreign liquor.
Fu Qingyun took the glass. “You’re too kind. I promised Ms. Li a 30% stake. If you all come, you’ll have a chance for that too.”
The two’s eyes lit up when they heard about the stake and they glanced at Li Zhengyin. You already negotiated the stake, old lady?
Li Zhengyin coughed and poured herself a beer, which she chugged in one go. “My mistake. I’ll drink a cup as punishment.”
Chen Qianqian raised her glass to Fu Qingyun. “Ms. Fu, do you mean you’re inviting us to Fir Capital?”
Fu Qingyun clinked glasses with her and downed the liquor in one go. “Yes. I trust Ms. Li’s people.”
This bold attitude was very much to their liking. Jiang Xiao quickly went up and refilled her glass.
“From what you’re saying, Ms. Fu, you’re very familiar with our Ms. Li?”
Fu Qingyun nodded. “The last time we met, your Ms. Li asked me to be her pillow princess.”
“Cough, cough, cough.” Li Zhengyin choked on her drink. As she was recovering, a cold hand slapped her shoulder.
“Sister Yin, that’s not cool. I haven’t even had her be my pillow princess, and you’re already trying to?” Su Ziqin’s voice was frigid, making Li Zhengyin shiver.
“It’s a misunderstanding!” Li Zhengyin immediately stood up to explain. She looked at Fu Qingyun with a hint of resentment. “Ms. Fu, you’re not going to let this go, are you?”
“Hahahaha.”
“Hahaha, Jiang, I’m telling you, why do I think Ms. Li is actually capable of something like this?” Chen Qianqian laughed until she bent over.
Jiang Xiao was no better. He looked at Su Ziqin and asked, “Little one, who are you?”
“My wife,” Fu Qingyun introduced.
“Oh?” Chen Qianqian glanced at the displeased Li Zhengyin. “Ms. Li, have you been single for so long that you think any Alpha is pretty? ‘Pillow princess’? You’re killing me.”
“Right? And you say you’re a player, but she’s already married.” Jiang Xiao covered his mouth and patted Li Zhengyin’s shoulder.
Li Zhengyin shook off his hand. “Get off! It’s a misunderstanding! A huge misunderstanding!”
“Oh? You never said that?” Su Ziqin squinted at her.
This stopped Li Zhengyin in her tracks. She put her hands together. “Kid, I’m straight! It’s a joke! Just a little joke between me and your Alpha.”
Su Ziqin rolled her eyes and poked the side of Fu Qingyun. “Sister Fu, you’re really wild. You like being a pillow princess? Then can you be mine?”
Fu Qingyun gave her a calm look and poked her forehead. “I told you it was a joke.”
“Ms. Li, I was kidding,” Fu Qingyun said to the upset Li Zhengyin.
Li Zhengyin gave her a mournful look. “Drink three cups as punishment, and we’ll call it even.”
“Alright.” With that, Fu Qingyun really did drink three glasses of foreign liquor in a row.
“How bold!” Jiang Xiao clapped his hands. He now found Fu Qingyun extremely likable, completely different from the rumors.
“Actually, we’re all very willing to work at Fir Capital, but we’ve heard some rumors about you, Ms. Fu,” Chen Qianqian said, pouring Fu Qingyun another glass.
Fu Qingyun took the glass. “I’m all ears.”
Seeing her so calm, the two didn’t hold back. Chen Qianqian asked first, “We heard that no project in your hands lasts more than six months.”
She then drank the beer in her glass, gesturing for Fu Qingyun to answer and drink.
Fu Qingyun thought about Fir Capital’s accounts. She knew about the ruthless things the original owner had done. But those projects had almost no long-term potential. The original owner’s methods might have been heartless, but they weren’t wrong in principle.
“Investment banks exist to make money. Those projects only had six months of value.” She downed the drink in one go.
Jiang Xiao stepped forward, his expression serious. “What about the entrepreneurs’ feelings? Don’t we care about them?” He then drank his glass of liquor.
“I’m an investor, not their Omega mother. The development of a business ultimately depends on them. Business is business; feelings are feelings.” She downed another drink.
Li Zhengyin also joined in, deliberately swapping Fu Qingyun’s glass for a cocktail. “Have you ever thought about the future development of Fir Capital, Ms. Fu?”
“With you, Ms. Li, at Fir Capital, it will be the number one investment firm in Jing City.”
That was a beautiful thing to say. Li Zhengyin was so happy she clinked glasses with Fu Qingyun.
Glass after glass was emptied. The three of them were swaying slightly, but Fu Qingyun’s expression remained unchanged.
Li Zhengyin shook her foggy head and patted Su Ziqin’s shoulder. “Kid, why aren’t you drinking?”
She handed her a Long Island Iced Tea. Su Ziqin’s eyes lit up at the sight of the drink and she was about to drink it with a straw.
A pale hand held the glass. “She’s not drinking. She’s driving later.”
Fu Qingyun took the drink from Su Ziqin’s hand and downed it in one gulp.
Only Li Zhengyin was barely conscious among the three of them. Chen Qianqian and Jiang Xiao’s steps were shaky.
Chen Qianqian poked Jiang Xiao’s arm. “Jiang, something’s not right. Fu Qingyun’s not getting drunk.”
“It’s insane. It’s one thing for us, but Old Li is an incredibly heavy drinker. Why is she looking a little tipsy?”
Li Zhengyin, who was an incredibly heavy drinker, was getting more and more drunk. She began talking more. “You don’t know what I’ve been through at Orca Capital. Not only are there no Omegas in the entire company, but they also block my projects.”
Li Zhengyin shook her hand, propped her head up with the other, and poured herself another drink.
“My mom won’t leave me alone either, constantly bugging me about blind dates.”
Su Ziqin leaned in next to Fu Qingyun, her amber eyes observing her.
Fu Qingyun saw this and turned to ask, “What is it?”
Su Ziqin shook her head in defeat and pointed to Li Zhengyin. “She’s a mess. Don’t you feel anything?”
“What am I supposed to feel?” Fu Qingyun raised an eyebrow and drank another glass. It was as easy as drinking water for her.
“Then have some more?” Su Ziqin said, handing her another glass of liquor.
12138 was laughing maniacally in Fu Qingyun’s brain. [These three are so funny. Trying to have a drinking contest with you is a death wish, isn’t it?]
[They don’t know that,] Fu Qingyun said calmly.
12138 grumbled. [Tsk, tsk, tsk. The little villain is probably trying to get you drunk too.]
Fu Qingyun was pleased. [Tonight’s drinking went well. Li Zhengyin’s attitude has softened. I believe she’ll be at Fir Capital in a few days.]
12138: [Her ending wasn’t good. She went abroad and struggled to survive. If her ending changes, it might affect the plot.]
[Mhm. We’ll wait and see.]
Su Ziqin was done. The scumbag had no weaknesses. She wouldn’t be able to see her embarrassed tonight.
Bang! Li Zhengyin slammed her glass on the table. “I’m done! Ms. Fu, I’ll be reporting to Fir Capital… tomorrow.”
Upon hearing this, Fu Qingyun raised her glass and stood up. “I’ll be waiting for you at Fir Capital.”
The other two drunks also stood up shakily. “We’re going too!”
“All together!” The three of them raised their glasses and downed the contents.
Afterward, Jiang Xiao and Chen Qianqian collapsed onto the sofa, unconscious.
Li Zhengyin shook her numb head, looked at the calm Fu Qingyun, and gave Su Ziqin a apologetic smile. “Kid, I tried my best. This person just won’t get drunk.”
Without waiting for Su Ziqin’s reaction, she plopped onto the sofa. “You… won’t get the chance… to have her… be your pillow princess… tonight.”
“You have that fetish?” Fu Qingyun turned to look at a stunned Su Ziqin.
Su Ziqin awkwardly cleared her throat, secretly cursing Li Zhengyin for being so useless. She then turned back to Fu Qingyun. “Sister Fu, you’re not going to believe what a drunk says, are you?”
Fu Qingyun looked at the sleepy Li Zhengyin. “I do.”
Su Ziqin was stunned for a moment, then teased, “Then, Sister Fu, are you willing to?”
Fu Qingyun shook her head. Remembering Li Zhengyin’s words, she calmly said two words. “Of course.”
Su Ziqin’s eyes lit up. She was surprised at Fu Qingyun. So you’re that kind of scumbag?!
