After Transmigrating as the Abandoned Rich Wife O, I Turned the Scum A's Life into a Crematorium [Transmigration] - Chapter 5
After finishing breakfast, Gu Bei suddenly realized she hadn’t even brushed her teeth or washed her face yet. She felt a deep sense of self-contempt.
She returned to her room to bathe, cleanse, and brush, but in doing so, she missed a call from Shen Siying.
Once she was finally ready and saw the two missed calls on her phone, she panicked. She dialed back, and after two rings, Shen Siying spoke in a faint, haunting voice: “So, you finally remembered to call back?”
“What are your orders, President Shen? I was just taking a shower,” Gu Bei replied truthfully, too lazy to lie.
The image of Gu Bei’s provocative and beautiful appearance from the night before flashed through Shen Siying’s mind. She swallowed hard and paused for a few seconds before speaking again.
“I’m getting off work at five today. I’ll pick you up to go to the old family estate for dinner.”
“Huh? But tonight I have…” Gu Bei had stood Jian Peiyun up yesterday and was planning to make it up to her tonight. Jian Peiyun had sent another invitation, and Gu Bei had agreed readily. She didn’t want to miss out on a “money tree,” but Shen Siying’s tone clearly wasn’t a request for an opinion. She asked weakly, “Is there a specific reason?”
“It’s Grandmother’s birthday. What, did you forget?” Shen Siying let out a contemptuous, cold laugh. “To forget even this… and to think Grandmother misses you every single day.”
Shen Siying loved her grandmother most of all. She always remembered the birthday before the grandmother herself did, ordering flowers and cakes in advance, planning to pick up Gu Bei first and then the gifts.
She didn’t care for birthdays herself, but she insisted on celebrating her grandmother’s. She didn’t like holidays either, so her grandmother’s birthday was the biggest festival in their household. Aside from Grandmother, no one currently had the power to make Shen Siying leave work early and cancel all appointments and meetings.
Xiao Ba: “On her birthday, Grandmother will cook a meal with the chefs for you and Shen Siying. Look at you, snapping at me earlier—now you need me, don’t you?”
Gu Bei didn’t have time to thank Xiao Ba. Recalling Shen Siying’s tone and the thought of Grandmother’s affection, she blurted out: “I didn’t forget! Come pick me up early; I need to go to the mall to buy some things for her!”
There was a noticeable silence on the other end of the line. After a long pause, a single “Fine” was uttered.
Xiao Ba: “Wrong, wrong! You should have said: ‘So what if I forgot? Just because she took me in, am I supposed to be eternally grateful and worship her like an ancestor? You don’t even remember my birthday, so why should I remember hers?'”
Gu Bei was stunned by Xiao Ba’s sudden, dramatic performance. “Can I… retract what I just said?”
Xiao Ba: “…”
After the driver dropped Gu Bei off at the office building, he hurried away without a backward glance. He probably didn’t much like the “wicked and arrogant villain” original host either. Gu Bei shrugged helplessly.
She was dressed very casually today: a pure white tight-fitting long-sleeved T-shirt, loose denim blue jeans, and a pair of high-top canvas sneakers with a bright silver and yellow patchwork design. A black Chanel sweater coat was draped over her arm.
This was the most low-profile, normal outfit she could find in the original host’s overflowing walk-in closet. However, when she stepped out in those sneakers, the maids chased her down the path, repeatedly asking if she was sure she wanted to wear those shoes out. Gu Bei was utterly bewildered.
She later learned those shoes were a limited edition signed by a “Super Blogger,” possessing massive collector value. The original host had never worn them since buying them, only taking them out periodically to let them “sunbathe.” Once, a maid had been fired just for accidentally getting a smudge on the laces while cleaning the closet.
“Signed edition or not, they’re still just under my feet.” Gu Bei stomped a bit loudly, seemingly not yet grasping the joys of being wealthy.
In response to energy-saving initiatives, the scrolling LED wall in the building’s lobby read: Central air conditioning will not be turned on if the temperature is above 10°C. Gu Bei looked at the words, rubbed the tip of her nose, and gave a lazy smile.
Xiao Ba: “Dissatisfied with the notice? Ask the property management to open the back door for you!”
Gu Bei clearly wasn’t used to Xiao Ba’s existence yet. She froze for a few seconds before awkwardly ducking into the elevator and whispering back.
“Forget it. Let’s see if I even live to see it drop below 10 degrees first.”
Xiao Ba: “Haven’t you heard? Good people don’t live long, but disasters last a thousand years.”
Gu Bei knew Xiao Ba was taking a jab at her. She couldn’t be bothered to respond, so she kept quiet and stealthily pressed the floor button.
Just as the elevator doors were about to close, a beautiful, slender, and fragrant hand reached in.
“Excuse me!”
Wait…
What a pleasant voice!
With lightning speed, Gu Bei pressed the button to stop the elevator.
The doors slid open slowly. Spilling in along with the sunlight was a beautiful girl even more radiant than the sun itself. Gu Bei stared at her, her eyes going straight.
The girl’s style was very “ascetic”: dressed entirely in black, with gray hair cut short to her earlobes and three or four metallic studs in her ears. She looked incredibly cool and “sa” (fierce). Had it not been for her feminine voice, Gu Bei might have mistaken her for a boy.
She was carrying a large bag that seemed to contain clothes and shoes. Gu Bei respected privacy and didn’t look too closely.
The girl turned and gave Gu Bei a sweet smile. “Are you going to the 22nd floor too?”
“Yeah,” Gu Bei blurted out.
Meeting her gaze, she finally saw the girl’s eyes—a very light gray, much like her hair.
“Hi, I’m Su Xiaotang.” The girl reached out for a handshake.
Gu Bei responded politely, taking her hand. “Hi, I’m Gu Bei.”
A flash of disbelief crossed Su Xiaotang’s eyes, but Gu Bei didn’t notice it.
The two stepped out of the elevator one after the other and walked in the same direction. Gu Bei followed Su Xiaotang’s back in silence. They both stopped simultaneously in front of the “Gu Bei Girl Group Studio” and looked at each other.
“Hi… you wouldn’t happen to be here for an interview, would you?” Gu Bei gave an awkward smile.
“That’s right. Are you the Manager Gu I’m looking for?”
“I… am.” Seeing Su Xiaotang’s pretty fingertips pointing at that pink piece of paper with the seven words on it, Gu Bei felt a bit embarrassed.
She had originally thought there was nothing wrong with that name or the pink paper on the door. At this moment, she only felt stupid—astronomically stupid. She’d tear it down before going home—no, she’d tear it down in a minute!
“Hello, Manager Gu!” Su Xiaotang was sweet-talked and immediately changed her form of address.
“Hello, hello. Um, are you an Alpha?” Su Xiaotang was a bit taller than Gu Bei, but clearly not as tall as Shen Siying. Gu Bei asked out of necessity.
“Genuine and authentic!” Su Xiaotang said.
Gu Bei nodded and took her keys out to unlock the door, but she fumbled for ages without being able to turn it. Her face turned red with frustration.
“Let me,” Su Xiaotang said with a beaming smile.
As an Omega, it’s normal to be too weak to turn a lock… right?
Su Xiaotang didn’t get it at first either, but after applying a bit of strength, the door finally opened. Gu Bei breathed a sigh of relief, then clenched her fists, thinking: I’ll change the door to glass later to make it look high-end, swap the lock for a fingerprint scanner, and make a proper company sign…
So expensive, so much trouble.
The studio was covered in a light gray short-pile carpet. Under the warm yellow lights, the space felt exceptionally cozy. Gu Bei had Su Xiaotang sit on the sofa opposite her desk, brought her a glass of warm water, and they began to chat.
When asked about her work, Su Xiaotang became animated, her face full of smiles: “Cosplay.”
Gu Bei also loved cosplay. Having spent nearly three years immersed in the 2D world of anime, she knew every manga character down to her bones.
“Who are you best at portraying?” She grew excited too.
But Su Xiaotang’s answer slowly extinguished her passion. Gu Bei didn’t recognize a single one of the anime titles Su Xiaotang mentioned. She suddenly remembered this was an ABO world; many settings were different from her original world. It was better to just be a quiet listener.
Seeing Gu Bei go silent, Su Xiaotang placed her bag on the glass coffee table. “Do you mind if I change into my look?”
“Huh?”
Before Gu Bei could state her position, the Alpha in front of her impatiently stripped off her black baseball jacket, then her black T-shirt…
Under the black bra, her chest trembled slightly. Her flat belly had beautiful “mermaid lines” (obliques), a slender waist, and long, pale legs!
Gu Bei awkwardly looked away, her ears feeling a bit hot.
Doesn’t this Alpha know about the boundary between A and O?!
In a few moments, Su Xiaotang had changed into a Lolita-style princess dress. The color was a somewhat gaudy peach pink, yet it looked surprisingly good on her. Gu Bei was stunned; she loved Lolita dresses too!
“This is how I usually look,” Su Xiaotang said with a smile. “That outfit earlier was just because I came straight from an event.”
Though she has short hair, her visuals are just too strong, Gu Bei thought. This face—a boy in men’s clothes, a girl in women’s clothes. This was the perfect “Visual” for the group!
“I’m signing you!” Gu Bei stood up abruptly and shouted with all her might.
