After Transmigrating as the Vicious Female Supporting Character, I Ran Away While Pregnant - Chapter 12
“Special Assistant Wang, my sister agreed?” The man looked shifty, his eyes darting around with calculation. He rubbed his thumb and fingers together, beaming at Assistant Wang: “Since my sister agreed, that money your CEO promised me, is it…?”
“Beat it!”
Assistant Wang sent a flying kick toward him, accompanied by a sharp shout.
Following Assistant Wang’s lead, the two bodyguards in black behind him lunged forward as if to start a fight. This move scared the man so much he scrambled away in a panic.
Assistant Wang didn’t understand why the CEO had suddenly called him, ordering him to bring people to prove Mo Haogui’s innocence and get him released from the station.
The CEO hadn’t explained, and he didn’t dare ask. In short, he just followed orders and got the job done.
With Mo Haogui gone and his mission complete, Assistant Wang returned to report, only to be immediately ordered by the CEO to investigate the disappearance of the eldest Miss of the Li family five years ago.
He felt that his job as an assistant wasn’t being a human trafficker, then it was being on the road to investigate them.
…
After Li Sheng and little Ranran left, Mo Yueshuang tidied up the house a bit. Although Ranran was very well-behaved and hadn’t made a huge mess, she was still a child after all. Anything she found interesting that could be used as a toy, Ranran had taken to play with—after politely asking for permission first.
Ranran really was a cute, obedient, and sensible child. Thinking of her brought a warm current to Mo Yueshuang’s heart. She wondered if she ever had a child of her own, if they would be as well-behaved and adorable as Ranran.
Mo Yueshuang had finished tidying up. When she went into the study, she unexpectedly saw an exquisite little doll pendant. It was Ranran’s favorite Nona pendant. It must have been left on the desk when Ranran was helping her look for the original animation clips; the little one had probably been too excited and set it down.
Mo Yueshuang picked it up, intending to store it safely and return it the next time she saw Ranran.
But looking at the time, she realized it wasn’t too late yet. Ranran loved the Nona doll so much; she would surely be devastated if she found the pendant missing.
So, Mo Yueshuang got ready, planning to deliver it to Ranran right away.
In the underground garage, Mo Yueshuang had just sat in her car and buckled her seatbelt when she spotted a familiar figure running toward her from a distance.
Mo Yueshuang trembled with terror the moment she recognized the person. She locked the car doors tight, wanting to start the engine and drive out quickly, but in her state of panic, her hands and feet refused to cooperate.
Outside the window, Mo Haogui’s face was pressed flat against the glass. One glance from Mo Yueshuang was enough to see him, and his presence immediately brought her childhood nightmares flooding back.
That face, covered in stubble, was full of ferocity. He pounded on the window and kicked the car door from time to time.
“Mo Yueshuang! Open the damn door! I’m your brother, do you have any conscience left? Our Mo family raised you for so many years, and our parents even paid for your schooling. Look at what you’re doing now! Showing off your arms and legs on TV all day, it’s scandalous! You’re a goddamn embarrassment.”
“Mo Haogui, you took my money eight years ago. You promised me then that you would never harass me again in this life. Please leave now, or I’ll call the police.”
“Pah! You little bitch, you only gave us five hundred thousand, what the hell is that worth now?” Mo Haogui spat on the car window, his tone vicious: “Calling the police won’t do a thing. I’m your brother; what’s wrong with asking you for a little money?”
Seeing his flushed face and rambling abuse outside the car, Mo Yueshuang guessed he must have been drinking heavily again.
A few years ago, the Mo family had come looking for her as well. But back then, she was still the pillar of Dayi Entertainment; with the company’s security watching over her, no one from the Mo family could even get near her.
Mo Haogui had been sent to a third-rate university with the family’s money. Although he wasn’t particularly successful, his mind was sharp enough to know that since Mo Yueshuang was now rich, even one bite of meat from her would be enough to feed the whole family for years.
A few months ago, he got a girlfriend who looked down on him for being poor. Since he had no car, no house, and no steady job, she was demanding a breakup.
In a drunken stupor, Mo Haogui bragged that the big star Mo Yueshuang was his sister. Later, somehow, the media found out, and the internet was flooded with discussions about Mo Yueshuang’s background and family.
Many people cursed Mo Yueshuang for being unfilial and heartless.
At first, Mo Haogui was afraid of being beaten by the thugs from Dayi Entertainment like before, so he went into hiding. But after several days, the topic online only got hotter, and there wasn’t a shadow of a person from Dayi.
Mo Haogui guessed that Dayi had stopped caring about the matter. Then, a few small-time reporters and paparazzi found him, asking about Mo Yueshuang. He embellished his story, playing the victim to garner public sympathy.
He heard that Mo Yueshuang had been fired from a film crew because of this. Even with things escalating this much, Dayi hadn’t come looking for trouble, so Mo Haogui felt completely at ease.
Thus, he packed his things to find Mo Yueshuang, wanting a sum of money to go home and marry his girlfriend.
He didn’t think he was asking for much. As the eldest son, if he were to marry, he had to build a grand house in the village to show off for the Mo family, letting all those country bumpkins know that he, Mo Haogui, was a man of ability.
Since his girlfriend was a city girl, he also wanted to buy an apartment in the city to live in with his wife and kids.
His parents at home needed money too, so asking Mo Yueshuang for a pension fund wasn’t excessive. It’s unfilial for children not to support their parents. Mo Yueshuang had been away from home for so many years without sending a single cent; she was a total white-eyed wolf.
In the future, when his son was born, the wedding banquet and the child’s schooling would all cost money.
Mo Yueshuang was his son’s aunt, and his son would be the eldest grandson of the Mo family; it was only right for Mo Yueshuang to provide some money.
Plus, Mo Yueshuang was already twenty-seven or twenty-eight and still hadn’t married. According to the rules back home, a daughter who isn’t married past sixteen is mocked by everyone. Mo Yueshuang owed the family money for that alone.
In short, Mo Haogui could think of too many reasons to demand money. Yet, when he finally found Mo Yueshuang, he didn’t get a cent and was mysteriously arrested for a hit-and-run while drunk driving.
He was convinced Mo Yueshuang was behind it. It wasn’t until the second day in the station that a man came to see him, saying their CEO had taken a liking to his sister. As long as he stayed there quietly for a few days, he would be given a huge sum of money once the deal was done.
He never expected that when he was released today, he would learn that Mo Yueshuang hadn’t agreed at all. He had been sent to jail for nothing, and the big payout was gone.
“Mo Yueshuang! If you don’t open this door today, I’ll have your life!”
Mo Haogui screamed abuse outside the door, pounding it frantically. Mo Yueshuang kept the doors dead-locked and ignored him, while already trying to contact security.
However, security was slow to arrive, and Mo Haogui had found a rock somewhere and started smashing the car window.
A car drove in and parked nearby.
Seeing someone arrive, Mo Haogui stopped in fright. but the person who stepped out of the car wasn’t the black-clad hitman of his memories—it was a woman.
Mo Haogui wasn’t afraid now. He even shouted with full confidence: “Get lost! Mind your own business!”
The author has something to say:
Ranran is crying, saying she wants to see what nutrient solution looks like. All you big sisters and aunties, please help save the child.
Li Ran: “Today is Ranran’s first day being forced to work for the shop. Please support me.”
