After Transmigrating as the Villain Alpha, I Marked the Reborn Supporting Female Omega (GL) - Chapter 13
Seeing Liang Xue walk out of the exit, Liang Manqing finally felt relieved. She sent a message to Qin Cen, saying that Liang Xue had been found at Exit 13.
Liang Manqing walked over to greet her: “Liang Xue, where did you go?”
The smile on Liang Xue’s face vanished the moment she saw Liang Manqing. She passed her without a word.
The woman next to Liang Xue asked: “Was that person talking to you just now?”
Liang Xue said coolly: “Don’t worry about her.”
Liang Manqing was ignored. It seemed Liang Xue really didn’t want to see her.
Qin Cen jogged over from the airport broadcast room, caught up to Liang Xue, and grabbed her, still slightly out of breath.
Liang Xue stopped: “Teacher Qin, why are you here?”
Qin Cen held Liang Xue’s wrist, afraid she might run away again: “I came to find you. Where have you been these two days?”
Liang Xue immediately looked sullen at the mention of the last two days. Qin Cen patted her head: “It’s alright. If you don’t want to talk about it, then don’t.”
Liang Xue nodded: “By the way, this is the sister I met on the plane. Her name is Lin Cheng.”
Lin Cheng smiled at Qin Cen: “Teacher Qin, hello.”
Qin Cen looked at Lin Cheng, her beautiful eyes curving: “Hello.”
Liang Manqing heard Lin Cheng’s name and slowly walked over. Lin Cheng was the younger sister of the female lead, Lin Mian, in this book. The book stated that the two sisters were separated in childhood. Their parents emigrated abroad and only took Lin Cheng, while the female lead, Lin Mian, stayed in the country with her grandmother.
They received different upbringings. Lin Cheng received all of her parents’ love, while the female lead, Lin Mian, did not.
Lin Cheng was around Qin Cen’s age, twenty-four. It was unexpected that Liang Xue could become friends with a woman seven years older than her.
A trace of surprise flashed in Liang Manqing’s eyes. She asked politely: “Miss Lin, did you just return from abroad?”
Lin Cheng smiled brightly: “Yes, this is my first time back in the country in ten years.”
Liang Manqing confirmed she was Lin Mian’s sister and smiled: “Thank you for taking care of my sister. I apologize for the trouble.”
Lin Cheng: “No trouble at all. The little one is very well-behaved. I was worried about her flying alone underage, so I just looked after her. I’m relieved she found her family.”
Liang Xue muttered: “I’m not a child.”
Lin Cheng turned her attention: “Little one, be a good girl and go home with your sister. Don’t wander off. I’m heading back now.”
Lin Cheng said goodbye to Liang Manqing and Qin Cen and left.
Liang Xue watched Lin Cheng’s retreating figure, unable to stop herself from chasing after her: “Sister, where do you live? We can give you a ride.”
Liang Manqing frowned. This child was really too keen.
Liang Manqing drove the car past the Neo Hotel in the city centre. Lin Cheng spoke: “Miss Liang, you can stop here.”
Liang Manqing parked the car and glanced outside. Liang Xue quickly asked: “Sister, are you staying here?”
Lin Cheng picked up her luggage and said: “Temporarily. I just returned to the country and haven’t settled down yet.”
Liang Manqing nodded and closed the car window. Liang Xue’s eyes followed Lin Cheng, her face full of concern: “Why isn’t Sister going home?”
Liang Manqing knew this “Sister” wasn’t referring to her. She looked at Liang Xue through the rearview mirror: “Lin Cheng is an adult. You, a child, don’t need to worry about her.”
Liang Xue sat back down, pouting: “I’ll be an adult in one month! And in nine months, I’ll be a university student! I am not a child!”
Usually, when she called Liang Xue a child, she didn’t react this strongly. Why such a big reaction now?
Qin Cen opened the passenger door, moved to the back seat, and took Liang Xue’s hand to comfort her: “Liang Xue is a grown-up now, not a child anymore. Please don’t be angry, okay?”
Tears welled up in Liang Xue’s eyes, feeling extremely wronged. She admitted now that even if she differentiated into an Alpha, she would be a crybaby Alpha. Liang Manqing was right.
Liang Xue could accept anything Liang Manqing said and could be hit anywhere, except for one particular spot.
Liang Xue couldn’t stop the tears when her eyes turned red. They started falling, one after another: “Liang Manqing, you grabbed my ear that morning, and you still haven’t apologized to me, woo woo woo…”
It was indeed because she grabbed her ear. Liang Manqing and Liang Xue had been roughhousing since childhood. Why would she suddenly become rebellious over a light tug on her ear?
Liang Manqing knew she was in the wrong. She turned sideways from the driver’s seat and apologized: “Liang Xue, I won’t ever hit you again. I’m sorry. Can you forgive your sister?”
Liang Xue cried even louder: “Liang Manqing, you really forgot!”
Liang Manqing didn’t know what she did wrong. She had apologized, so why was Liang Xue crying even harder?
Qin Cen was busy comforting her and looked at Liang Manqing: “What’s going on?”
Liang Manqing looked innocent: “I really don’t know.”
Liang Xue cried and spoke: “Liang Manqing forgot.”
Qin Cen asked Liang Manqing to drive home first. Liang Manqing kept reviewing the situation the whole way, trying to figure out what went wrong.
According to the book, there were no specific details about the original owner and the Liang family, and Liang Manqing had no memory of the original owner. So, she didn’t forget; she simply didn’t remember at all.
The act of tugging the ear must have touched a core boundary for Liang Xue and the original owner.
Could Liang Xue be suspicious of her because of this?
Back at the Liang residence, Liang Xue had cried herself to sleep, tear stains still lingering on her fair, soft cheeks.
Liang Manqing carried Liang Xue upstairs, wiped her face clean, and asked Aunt Tao to change her into pajamas.
Liang Xue had spent the last two days on a plane; she was exhausted from the lack of rest.
Quietly closing the door, Liang Manqing remembered that Aunt Tao had worked for the Liang family for over twenty years and might know a lot about the family.
Liang Manqing casually asked: “Aunt Tao, does Liang Xue really hate having her ears grabbed?”
Aunt Tao paused at the question: “Yes. I remember it’s because Xiao Xue’s ears look very much like the Madam’s ears. So, no matter how much you two played fight, you would never touch her ears.”
Liang Manqing was stunned. It was because of such an important reason.
Aunt Tao sighed: “The Madam passed away early, before she even had a chance to see Xiao Xue. There are no pictures of the Madam in the house. Xiao Xue misses her mother in her heart but will never know what the Madam looked like.”
Liang Manqing felt a wave of sadness. So, the similarly shaped ears were the only link Liang Xue had with her mother.
No wonder Liang Xue kept tearfully saying that she had forgotten.
Liang Manqing felt downcast. It seemed her mission in this world was challenging. She had to treat both Qin Cen and the Liang family people with sincerity.
Liang Manqing stood in the yard looking into the distance. Qin Cen walked over sometime and handed her a cup of tea.
Liang Manqing took it: “Thank you.”
Qin Cen: “Is Liang Xue doing better?”
Liang Manqing didn’t know how to answer: “It doesn’t seem like it. She has every right to be upset. Grabbing her ear was my fault.”
Liang Manqing explained the reason. Qin Cen felt something was off: “So you really forgot?”
Liang Manqing couldn’t explain that she wasn’t the original owner, so she could only hum in affirmation.
Qin Cen looked thoughtfully: “Forgetting something so important as her mother, Liang Xue must be very sad.”
Liang Manqing decided she would apologize properly tomorrow.
Qin Cen sat on a chair under the tree: “I signed with Top Ten Entertainment, so I might not be able to tutor Liang Xue often.”
Top Ten Entertainment was putting all its efforts into preparing for the Tomorrow’s Lily audition. Two weeks of preparation was not enough time, and she would likely have to spend most of her time at the company.
Liang Manqing remembered: “I know. I’ll find her a new private tutor tomorrow.”
“Also, I’ll only be free tomorrow night for the next two weeks. So, I only have time to be your jewelry model tomorrow night.”
After Qin Cen finished outlining her schedule and prepared to leave, Liang Manqing agreed: “Then tomorrow night it is.”
…
Early the next morning, Liang Manqing waited outside Liang Xue’s room for her to wake up.
Liang Xue’s eyes were red and swollen from crying too much last night. Liang Manqing prepared an ice pack and placed it on her eyes, causing Liang Xue to shiver.
“So cold…” Liang Xue tried to turn away but couldn’t evade it.
Liang Manqing held the back of Liang Xue’s neck with one hand and gently massaged the ice pack around her eyes with the other to reduce the swelling.
Liang Xue closed her eyes and reluctantly accepted the treatment.
Liang Manqing massaged and apologized: “I’m so sorry. I forgot something so important. Tell me what you want me to do. I promise I’ll listen to everything you say.”
Liang Xue snorted: “You actually forgot about Mom.”
When Liang Xue was in a bad mood, she liked to take planes because she felt closest to her mother when flying in the sky.
But Liang Manqing had completely forgotten.
Liang Xue stared at Liang Manqing’s face earnestly: “Liang Manqing, I think you’ve changed.”
Liang Manqing looked back: “How have I changed?”
“Even though you were a jerk before, you never forgot about Mom. But now… you’ve forgotten Mom.” Although they didn’t spend much time together, Liang Xue couldn’t pinpoint what was wrong, only feeling that Liang Manqing was different from before.
The ice pack in Liang Manqing’s hand was very cold. She couldn’t answer. She also didn’t have a mother in her original world. Her mother had abandoned her when she was a child, so Liang Manqing didn’t have a good impression of mothers. She couldn’t empathize with Liang Xue.
Being seen through by a child felt terrible. Liang Manqing smiled slightly: “Mom is always in my heart. I will never forget her.”
Liang Xue puffed up her cheeks: “Then promise me one thing, and I’ll consider forgiving you.”
Liang Manqing: “What is it?”
Liang Xue asked carefully: “I’ve always wanted to see what Mom looks like, but Dad destroyed all of Mom’s photos so we wouldn’t be sad. Even you never wanted to show me Mom’s photos. So, can you give me a picture of Mom?”
Liang Manqing couldn’t refuse and could only agree first: “Alright, I’ll look for one.”
Was Liang Xue so sure the original owner had a picture of her mother? And Liang Jinshan’s action of destroying all the photos was very suspicious.
Why wouldn’t the Liang family allow any pictures of the mother to exist?
Liang Manqing drove Liang Xue to school. After returning, she searched up and down the Liang house, almost turning it inside out, but couldn’t find a single photo of her mother.
Liang Manqing leaned back on a chair, lost in thought. With too few clues, she couldn’t figure it out.
Before she knew it, it was seven in the evening. Liang Manqing checked the time. The appointment with Qin Cen was approaching.
Liang Manqing stood up, and her foot accidentally kicked a box. Inside were the back portraits Liang Xue had displayed a few days ago.
Liang Manqing only glanced at them, and her mind started buzzing. She quickly closed the box. Liang Manqing left the study without looking back.
The Thousand Billion Office Building was brightly lit. When Liang Manqing arrived at the studio, Qian Haiye was already waiting.
A well-wrapped jewelry box was on the desk. It contained Liang Manqing’s competition design samples.
Qian Haiye delivered the items and said: “Miss Liang, I’ll head off if there’s nothing else.”
Liang Manqing hummed: “Oh, right. Find a new private tutor for Liang Xue. Preferably a long-term one.”
Qian Haiye nodded and turned to handle the task.
The blinds in the studio were all drawn, and the interior was closed off.
Liang Manqing placed the jewelry samples on the plastic mannequin, carefully adjusting the jewelry chain.
The International Jewelry Design Competition required every designer to find a suitable jewelry model, take photos of the jewelry model according to the competition rules, and upload them. Only designers who passed the preliminary review would be eligible to be invited to the international competition site.
This particular International Jewelry Design Competition tested the designer’s overall talent. Unlike regular designs, the participating designers needed to create a unique body jewelry chain garment, a three-in-one design: a chest chain, a waist chain, and a leg chain.
Because of this, the requirements for the jewelry model’s physique were also higher.
The plastic mannequin couldn’t showcase the beauty of the jewelry chain garment. Liang Manqing was unsatisfied with the photos on the camera and deleted them all.
Liang Manqing picked up her pen and made revisions to the design draft. After a while, someone pushed open the studio door.
Qin Cen finished her work at Top Ten Entertainment and arrived for the appointment.
The studio was spacious. Liang Manqing was working with her head bowed. Her slender fingers held a pencil, and her long, straight eyelashes covered her eyes.
When she saw Qin Cen arrive, she lifted her eyes and smiled: “You’re here.”
Qin Cen looked away: “When do we start?”
Liang Manqing put down her pen and walked over: “The jewelry chain garment is in the photo room next door. Start whenever you’re ready to change.”
Qin Cen had a bad feeling when she heard the words “jewelry chain garment.” Recalling the chain that Qin Nuo had broken into several pieces, she finally realized: It wouldn’t be the kind I’m thinking of, would it?
The photo room was fully equipped. A plastic mannequin stood in front of a white backdrop, adorned with the glittering chain garment.
The plastic mannequin was well-proportioned, and the areas wrapped by the chain garment seemed particularly ascetic.
Qin Cen lightly coughed: “Do I have to take off all my clothes to wear it?”
Liang Manqing didn’t notice anything wrong: “Yes.”
