After Transmigrating into a Book, I Turned the Straight Bigshot Gay (BL) - Chapter 9
At 7:40 AM, after finishing his morning training, Xie Yunshen returned to the manor, took a quick cold shower, and rushed to the dining room for his shift.
Xie Yunshen only worked the day shift; most of the security firm’s guards worked the night shift, while Yi Wuyi remained elusive and unpredictable.
Upon arrival, Yan Shiqi was already seated at the dining table. However, today was different—Yan Shizhou was also present. Since transmigrating, this was the first time Xie Yunshen had seen this young master sitting obediently at the table for breakfast.
Yan Shizhou leaned casually against the back of his chair, his dark brown hair styled in a look of “orderly chaos.” Around his neck hung a silver knight’s sword pendant. He held a vegetable roll in his hand, but his eyes were fixed deathly on Yi Wuyi.
Yi Wuyi neither looked at him nor avoided his gaze; he stood like a statue, staring straight ahead. Yan Shizhou took a vicious bite of his vegetable roll, as if he were biting into Yi Wuyi himself.
Xie Yunshen’s attention, however, was on the crystal dumplings. These were handmade by the Yan family’s head chef—bright, colorful fillings visible beneath a thin, elegant translucent skin. To maintain the master’s dignity while eating, they were sliced into halves, arranged on a plain porcelain dish, and garnished with morning flower petals.
Damn it, Xie Yunshen thought gloomily. He had been so focused on training that he’d lost track of time and skipped breakfast.
Just then, two warm servings of breakfast were placed on the table: the same seafood congee, vegetable rolls, and crystal dumplings. Yan Shiqi flicked a glance at Xie Yunshen and Yi Wuyi, signaling them to join the table. It seemed this had been prepared for them all along.
Xie Yunshen wasn’t one to be modest. He was ready to dig in immediately, but to mask his eagerness, he felt he needed an accomplice. He turned and grabbed Yi Wuyi, saying earnestly, “Old Five, you must be hungry too.”
“?” Yi Wuyi was practically hijacked into a seat by Xie Yunshen.
The dining table was long and rectangular. The two sat opposite Yan Shizhou, while Yan Shiqi sat at the head. Sitting next to Yan Shiqi, Xie Yunshen ate a piece of a crystal dumpling and marveled inwardly: As expected of a billionaire’s chef, first-class skills.
Seeing that Yi Wuyi hadn’t touched his chopsticks, Xie Yunshen nudged him with his elbow. “Why aren’t you eating?”
“I’m not hungry.”
Slap! Yan Shizhou slammed his chopsticks down. “You two!”
“What?” Xie Yunshen jumped.
Yan Shizhou’s voice was cold and biting, but his eyes remained locked on Yi Wuyi. “You two are incredibly annoying!”
Yi Wuyi’s eyes dimmed, and he started to stand up. But Xie Yunshen held him back.
Yan Shiqi looked at Yan Shizhou, his gaze carrying an unquestionable authority. “If you don’t want to eat, get out.”
Yan Shizhou stood up, his voice trembling with suppressed emotion. “Why? Why exactly… do you treat an outsider better than your own brother?!”
“Understand this: your enemy is me. Do not take your anger out on others.”
Yi Wuyi spoke up: “Mr. Yan, please do not have a conflict with Young Master Shizhou on my account.”
Xie Yunshen added, “Young Master Shizhou, you’re not jealous of me and Old Five, are you?”
Yan Shizhou spared him a cold glance. “What is there to be jealous of?”
“In your brother’s eyes, it seems two outsiders are slightly more important than his own flesh and blood. Are you sulking?” Xie Yunshen wasn’t actually that arrogant; he was just trying to provoke him.
Yan Shizhou looked at him as if he’d heard the world’s biggest joke, giving him a “dead fish” stare.
Yan Shiqi picked up his napkin and wiped his mouth. Following the outburst, Xie Yunshen lost his appetite too. He hurriedly finished two crystal dumplings, a bowl of porridge, and two vegetable rolls…
He was a bit puzzled. In the original book, Yi Wuyi was killed by the villain and Yan Shizhou died of depression. The two never really interacted or appeared together, let alone had such deep-seated animosity.
The scenery outside the window blurred past.
Yan Shiqi sat opposite Xie Yunshen, watching him play with a powerball in his hand. Under the Bigshot’s powerful, piercing gaze, Xie Yunshen looked calm on the surface, but his mind was racing: Old Five, where did you go?
Before they left, Yi Wuyi had apparently been sent on another mission. Now it was just him and Yan Shiqi in this enclosed space, with the driver blocked by the partition. Usually, Yan Shiqi would be working in the car, so sitting together didn’t feel like much, but today, the Bigshot was just sitting there staring directly at him.
If he didn’t know the man was straight, Xie Yunshen would have thought he was harboring a secret crush—no, an obvious crush.
Yan Shiqi looked at the rapidly flashing, spinning ball. “What is that?”
Xie Yunshen looked at him in surprise. Not because he was shocked that there was something Yan Shiqi didn’t know, but because the man had asked such a purely curious question.
“It’s a powerball. It trains wrist strength.”
Yan Shiqi looked at the metal ball in his hand, which weighed only a few hundred grams. “How many kilograms of force can it reach?”
“Normally up to over a hundred kilograms.”
The powerball spun in his hand, emitting a glow and a sound like a revving engine or crashing waves. Yan Shiqi watched intently. Xie Yunshen found it a bit funny—it seemed men were naturally drawn to this kind of gadget.
But when he looked up again, he realized Yan Shiqi had fallen asleep.
“Eh?”
At that moment, the news anchor’s voice came from the partition screen: “The Southern Province government has opened public bidding for the ‘Third Tier’ project in B-City. This project has attracted numerous corporate bidders.”
“To ensure transparency, the government will conduct an on-site bidding session at the Baihua Bank Building in B-City on the 17th… Once completed, the ‘Third Tier’ will be B-City’s largest international trade port…”
Xie Yunshen knew that Yan Shiqi’s current focus was winning this bid. Almost all of the Five Families were involved. They were currently on the highway heading to B-City for the bidding conference.
Yan Shiqi slept the entire way. He woke up sometime around noon when they reached their destination.
When they arrived, two assistants, a secretary, and a bidding manager were already waiting at the hotel. Xie Yunshen checked the hotel name: Josen Hotel, a property under the Yan family. The bidding conference was set for the following morning.
Due to Yi Wuyi’s absence, for security reasons, Xie Yunshen was assigned to stay in Yan Shiqi’s presidential suite. After a thorough sweep to ensure there were no security threats, Xie Yunshen prepared to shower and sleep.
Yan Shiqi, who was in the middle of a video conference, suddenly said, “Come see me after your shower.”
Inside, the heart of the “Gold Medal Bodyguard” skipped a beat. A “horror meme” formed in his mind. In his years of experience, this situation usually implied an “unspoken rule” (sexual solicitation)!
You have to understand, Xie Yunshen had a rich professional history and had frequently been subjected to “hints” and harassment from employers with… particular tastes. I thought his character setting was ‘straight’?
Yan Shiqi reached up and pressed his forehead. “My sleeping pills haven’t been working lately. Instead, hearing that sound makes it very easy for me to fall asleep.”
“…”
So he’s using me as a white noise machine.
“How about I record the sound for you?” Xie Yunshen suggested.
Yan Shiqi: “I prefer the live version.”
Xie Yunshen stared back with a long, internal “?”. Does he really want me to sit here and spin this for him in person?
Yan Shiqi: “Yes.”
Xie Yunshen: “…”
Seriously… how do you have the nerve to ask that?
In the dark night, amidst the bustling city and the quiet room, a powerball was wound up to full speed. A sound like an engine or the ocean waves emanated from Xie Yunshen’s hand.
Lying in bed, Yan Shiqi gradually closed his eyes.
