After Transmigrating into the Book, I Bent the Heroine O - Chapter 14
Shu Minglan smiled softly.
She had been away from the city filming for about a week. During that time, she occasionally posted updates on her “Moments,” though she had activated a blocklist for most people, leaving only a few industry insiders who could see them.
He Lingxing was one of them.
This morning, she had posted on her Moments that her evening flight would be landing at this airport and the approximate time; she hadn’t expected He Lingxing to actually show up.
Friendships between women are both easily destroyed and easily built. At this moment, Shu Minglan had basically forgotten her previous unpleasantness, and found the slightly dazed He Lingxing looking more and more pleasing to the eye.
Shu Minglan kept her fingertips a few inches away, careful not to smudge the exquisitely applied eye makeup. Seeing He Lingxing brush her hand away and look up, Shu Minglan’s smile deepened.
She really is just a tsundere heiress. Her mouth is harsh, but in reality, she’s always enthusiastically helping out whenever something happens. Having dropped her guard, Shu Minglan looked at He Lingxing with a gaze so gentle it seemed it could melt into water.
“I grew up in Jiangcheng, so I’m quite familiar with the new shops that have opened in recent years. What would you like to eat?”
He Lingxing closed her phone screen and slowly stood up from her seat.
But just as she was considering how to respond to the heroine’s enthusiasm, a hand suddenly landed on her shoulder, and she was naturally pulled into a side-hug.
The slightly aggressive scent of an Alpha drifted into her nose in wisps. He Lingxing inherently disliked being touched by people she wasn’t close to; driven by a double layer of repulsion, she instinctively pushed the person away.
Yu Fanhui was wearing five-centimeter stilettos. Caught off guard by the shove, she nearly twisted her ankle but didn’t get angry. Instead, she smilingly hooked her arm around He Lingxing’s neck and gave her a big hug.
The girl had bold, fiery red hair cut short to her ears and wore two silver star studs. Despite the chilly October weather, she only wore a short jacket. Beneath her black-and-white checkered skirt was a pair of long, pale legs—the look of a total “spicy girl.”
Seeing Shu Minglan—who was wearing a mask but still couldn’t hide her beautiful features—Yu Fanhui gave a casual greeting, then hugged He Lingxing’s arm and acted spoiled:
“Sister Xingxing, where are you taking me to eat? If it’s not good, I’m going to be picky!”
Hugging and holding hands between members of the same sex was usually no big deal, but He Lingxing wasn’t used to being intimate with people who were overly familiar. Just as she was about to pull her arm back, Yu Fanhui leaned in and whispered into her ear:
“You aren’t planning on bringing an irrelevant person, are you, Sister? Isn’t this that Shu-something? I’ve seen her interviews, she’s a bit… emm…”
“Yu Fanhui!”
Although she was whispering in her ear, she actually made no effort to hide it from Shu Minglan. The volume was just loud enough for all three of them to hear clearly. Shu Minglan’s expression slowly turned cold, carrying an indescribable emotion that made He Lingxing feel uncomfortable just looking at her.
That discomfort wasn’t because of Shu Minglan herself, but because of Yu Fanhui’s excessive arrogance.
“I was just joking!” Yu Fanhui shouted and acted spoiled when she saw the mood shift. “Sister Lingxing, I’m hungry. Let’s go eat, okay?”
People were coming and going at the airport, and Yu Fanhui had come alone. As angry as He Lingxing was, she couldn’t just leave the girl stranded at the airport. She could only tell Shu Minglan “see you next time.” Detecting the flash of disappointment in the other woman’s eyes, the fire in He Lingxing’s heart grew even hotter.
The heroine I worked so hard to coax was messed up by Yu Fanhui in one go.
Dinner wasn’t very pleasant either.
In truth, she wasn’t very familiar with Yu Fanhui; they had only crossed paths as children. Their relationship wasn’t close enough for the intimate arm-holding of “besties,” but Yu Fanhui was persistently over-familiar.
And in a way that wasn’t very likable.
During the meal, Yu Fanhui kept looking for topics and asking about industry gossip, but He Lingxing had little interest and only gave half-hearted replies. After eating, He Lingxing dutifully used her memories to drop her off at “home”—not her own place, but the house she shared with her family.
The original host had started making it on her own since university. Her feelings for and impressions of “home” were indifferent, and she rarely contacted her family. Her parents seemed equally unconcerned with the original host, showing far more enthusiasm for Yu Fanhui instead.
Especially Mother He. Upon seeing Yu Fanhui, she smiled kindly, commenting on how she had grown taller and looked even better after differentiation. Her praises made Yu Fanhui’s face turn red.
“Fanhui, Lingxing, it’s already past ten. Lingxing, don’t go back. Just sleep here with Fanhui. It’ll be good for you two to share a room and chat.”
She looked at He Lingxing with a smile, not expecting He Lingxing to refuse point-blank.
“I’m an Omega. How can I sleep with an Alpha?”
The original host’s fake Omega identity became her best shield at this moment. The gender difference was the perfect excuse.
Mother He frowned. “You child, what’s wrong with two girls? Fanhui traveled so far to get here… I’ll have someone prepare the bed. Fanhui, you go sleep over there and ignore her.”
Yu Fanhui smilingly agreed and went to pat He Lingxing’s shoulder. She wanted to say something, but He Lingxing cut her off.
“Are you from outer space?” He Lingxing looked over with a mocking smile, her gaze shifting between the clearly scheming Yu Fanhui and Mother He. “Of course two girls can, but ‘forced melons aren’t sweet.'”
A daughter of her mother’s friend who had just differentiated into an Alpha, from a family of equal social status… If He Lingxing didn’t understand what was going on by now, she would have wasted her years of experience in previous worlds.
Usually, even for a political marriage, people would ask if you were willing in private. Her mother was “great”—she was ready to send her daughter directly to someone else’s bed. Setting aside the fact that she was an Alpha, even if she were an Omega, she wouldn’t date someone like Yu Fanhui.
He Lingxing truly couldn’t stay the night in this “home”; every corner was filled with an uncomfortable feeling. She finally understood why the original host was so cold toward her family.
“Lingxing—He Lingxing!?”
Watching the figure walk away without a single look back, a sharp glint flashed in Mother He’s eyes. But when she turned back to her guest, she wore that kind, benevolent mask once again.
Walking quickly into the night, He Lingxing had just inserted her car key when 520’s emergency alert rang in her ear.
【The key plot point is approaching! Host, please prepare. The heroine is about to be framed and enter the male lead’s room. As the villainous supporting character, please do your duty and lock the door to facilitate the male lead marking the heroine!】
A set of coordinates appeared in her mind.
