Summary
Synopsis:
Meng Qiuran, a master of capital operations, transmigrates into an unfinished, angsty novel. She becomes the spoiled, rebellious villainous socialite who loves nothing more than causing trouble.
She is saddled with a system that gives instructions as slowly as a constipated person. It tells her that if she wants to return to her original world, she must ensure the heroine, Gu Ruolan, lives a wonderful life—achieving a “Grand Slam” of Best Actress awards and finding perfect love.
Meng Qiuran recalls the plot: Gu Ruolan, who just won her first international Best Actress award, is hit by a wave of scandals—alleged alcoholism, fighting for top billing, acting like a diva on set, and intentional “edge-pushing” behavior on variety shows to gain attention. To top it off, her old agency is suing her for breach of contract.
The system claims Gu Ruolan was framed, but when asked how, the system “gets constipated” again…
Meng Qiuran winces: “Yikes… that really is miserable.”
Forced to figure it out herself, she discovers this cold and aloof Movie Queen is indeed luckless and starved for love, stabbed in the back by those she trusted most simply because she was too excellent.
What can she do? She has to “cause trouble,” of course!
One by one, Gu Ruolan’s rivals, her bribed assistant, and the agent who messed with her contracts are all “cleaned up” by Meng Qiuran. But wait—where is this single Movie Queen supposed to find “perfect love”?
Just then, Gu Ruolan’s “White Moonlight” (first love), Jiang Sinian, returns to the country. As a former major investor in the film industry, Jiang still has influence. Meng Qiuran thinks her mission is finally reaching its end.
Despite feeling a bit bitter, Meng Qiuran offers her encouragement and blessings to the pair.
…So why is Gu Ruolan giving her such a cold shoulder?
Gu Ruolan was born for the silver screen. Gifted with a high-fashion look and immense talent, she was the most promising candidate for a Grand Slam sweep. But her pride and refusal to “bend the knee” offended many.
When the black PR hit her suddenly and intensely, her soaring career began to crumble. To make matters worse, the notorious “playgirl” Meng Qiuran decided to get involved. Gu Ruolan bit her lip until it bled, preparing for the worst.
By the time she realized Meng Qiuran’s “interference” was actually a rescue—and that it even carried a hint of inexplicable “pampering”—her heart had already begun to waver. But then, she heard that person encouraging her to go find happiness elsewhere.
This time, with red-rimmed eyes, Gu Ruolan cornered Meng Qiuran in her room: “How can you be so mean!”
