After Transmigrating into the Scum Wife of a Disabled Black Moonlight (GL) - Chapter 13
With a button missing from her shirt, Deng Li felt a bit uncomfortable. A slight case of OCD was bothering her. Luckily, there was a tailor shop near the school. The owner was a friendly woman in her forties or fifties.
When she saw Deng Li, she enthusiastically stood up. “Are you here for laundry?”
Deng Li: “Yes.”
She took off her trench coat, and her well-defined hands started unbuttoning her shirt. Her neck was exposed, giving off a pleasant scent.
The owner watched from a distance, envying someone her age. “What grade are you in?”
What grade?
Deng Li hesitated for a moment. If I say I’m a student, it might be cheaper. She smiled and said, “I’m about to graduate.”
After taking off her shirt, she was wearing a tank top. Her fair skin glowed softly under the light of the shop. She quickly put her trench coat back on and handed over the shirt. “Boss, do you have this kind of button?”
The owner took a closer look. “Oh, this is a natural mother-of-pearl button. I have some in my shop, but the quality is nowhere near yours.”
“That’s okay, let me see.”
Although the buttons the owner took out were a bit different, the color was even overall. She asked her to sew one on.
A moment later, her phone rang.
Deng Li took out her phone. It was Song Chisui.
She took a breath and calmly answered the phone. “Hello, Xiao Sui?”
The voice on the other end was refined and elegant. “Miss Deng, this is Chisui’s teacher, Jian Qiuyu.”
Deng Li cleared her throat. “Teacher Jian, is something wrong?”
After a moment of silence, the voice on the phone said, “Something happened to Chisui.”
It was her time to make an appearance.
As Song Chisui’s primary guardian and wife, and as a former gangster, Deng Li was smoking a cigarette as she walked to the principal’s office.
She kicked the door open with her black high-heeled shoe. The door slowly opened. Everyone in the noisy office looked at her, and the room immediately fell silent. Their faces were startled and shocked, their expressions as if in slow motion.
Deng Li brushed her hair back with her left hand, and with a haughty stride, she walked in with her long legs, looking directly at Song Chisui.
“Xiao Sui.”
She walked with a breeze, taking a few steps to get to Song Chisui, then knelt down to check on her. “Are you okay?”
Deng Li cupped her face. Her large hand pressed tightly against her skin, feeling the smooth, cold texture and the constant flow of positive value.
Plus one, plus one, plus one.
From her cheeks and neck to her arms.
Deng Li took her small hand, her fingers like scallions, and counted them one by one.
She completely ignored the fact that Song Chisui’s eyes were growing more and more disgusted.
Cheeks, neck, fingers. Deng Li seemed to love touching her skin, and she did it subtly, as if toying with her, not genuinely caring.
Song Chisui was agitated. Being touched and held like this, she felt a slight resistance. Unlike with Jian Qiuyu, she couldn’t refuse Deng Li.
After all, she was her wife.
“I’m fine.”
Song Chisui lowered her head, her cheeks already hot.
Jian Qiuyu noticed something. Although they were newlyweds, Song Chisui seemed to resist her touch.
She walked up. “Miss Deng, the culprits are over here.”
Deng Li let go of Song Chisui’s hand and turned to look at the three people in the corner: two boys and one girl, dressed like a 90s gothic band, a complete eyesore.
She furrowed her brows and looked at the bald, chubby, middle-aged man in a blue suit with a ruddy complexion. “Principal Fu, what’s going on?”
Jian Qiuyu explained the situation, which was pretty much what Deng Li already knew. But at the end, Jian Qiuyu added a sentence.
“It’s a good thing I arrived in time, otherwise, who knows what would have happened.”
Deng Li nodded in gratitude. “Teacher Jian, thank you.”
Then she looked at the principal with a serious expression. “Principal, what do you have to say?”
Principal Fu knew that the person in front of him was the granddaughter of the powerful family who had funded his school. Sigh, how could Deng Chengxia even mess with her?
“Miss Deng, Miss Song, it’s up to you to decide how to punish them.”
To the side, Deng Chengxia pouted. “Principal, that building is haunted. A ghost led us there. We didn’t do it.”
Principal Fu’s face turned serious, and he stomped his foot. “What ghost? That’s superstition! There’s no such thing anymore! It’s better for you to confess everything. You’ll get a lighter punishment. If you don’t, you’ll be punished more severely!”
Deng Chengxia wouldn’t give in. “Principal, there really was a ghost. If you don’t believe me, ask Qingshui and Chisui.”
She took two steps forward and said to Song Chisui, “Chisui, you saw it too, didn’t you?”
Song Chisui’s right hand was half-clenched into a fist. Her pale index finger rested on her flushed lips as she coughed delicately. “I’ve never seen a ghost.”
Her eyes lingered on Deng Li, as if to say, “Guardian, what are you waiting for? Deal with them.”
Deng Li couldn’t sit still. She quickly stood in front of Song Chisui, blocking the terrified Deng Chengxia. “You abducted my wife and scared her. What nonsense are you talking about now? I think we should call the police and handle this as a kidnapping.”
With that, she took out her phone, ready to dial 911.
Deng Chengxia’s eyes widened. She fell to her knees, and the two boys behind her also knelt down, crying and begging for mercy.
Deng Li held up her phone. “You’re still young. You can get rehabilitated and come out a good person.”
But before she could dial, she felt someone tug on her clothes.
She turned around. Song Chisui’s delicate, watery eyes looked at her. “Sister, just let it go.”
“Cough, cough, cough.” She covered her mouth and said delicately, “I’m fine. The principal can just punish them.”
Tsk tsk. She’s still pretending to be kind at a time like this. She must be acting for Jian Qiuyu’s sake.
Right. She just developed feelings for Jian Qiuyu, so she needs to establish her image as a weak, kind, and forgiving person.
But the more Song Chisui acted this way, the more dangerous Deng Chengxia became.
Because if she let her go today, she would easily take care of her in a dark corner tomorrow. That’s how it was in the original book.
Jian Qiuyu looked at her with a look of deep affection. “Chisui, do you really think so?”
Song Chisui’s long eyelashes fluttered, gently brushing against her bangs. Her voice was calm and steady. “Give them a chance. However…”
Song Chisui looked at Qingshui. “Qingshui was the one who was actually tied up… You were slapped… Do you want to forgive her?”
Her soft words were like a dagger, completely unexpected.
Qingshui covered her swollen face, as if remembering the slap. “I…”
Song Chisui coughed. She drew their attention to her, then she sniffed her own sleeve, wrinkling her nose slightly. “There’s a strange, musky smell.”
This scene made Qingshui remember being forced to drink urine. She hardened her heart, reached out, and slapped Deng Chengxia’s face. She put all her strength into it. The sound almost shook the entire office.
Deng Li was amazed inside. She swallowed and looked at that pure camellia with a shocked expression.
Amazing.
Deng Chengxia was given a demerit, and the other two boys were given 10 demerits. They were all criticized publicly and would be expelled if they did it again.
The four of them walked out, each with a complex mix of emotions.
Qingshui looked at her hand. It was red, but she was in a great mood. “I’m not afraid. From now on, if anyone hits me, I’ll hit them back.”
The corner of Song Chisui’s mouth curled up. “The best way to deal with a bully is to hit them back. That’s called self-defense.”
Jian Qiuyu said, “They got off too easy. They’re a cancer. Who knows what they’ll do in the future.”
Deng Li stood to the side. “Teacher Jian is right. From now on, our Xiao Sui will have to rely on you to take care of her. I’m very grateful to you today. If it weren’t for you, our Xiao Sui would have suffered a lot.”
She looked at Song Chisui and reached out to stroke her small head. “Isn’t that right, Xiao Sui?”
Song Chisui turned her head, half of her face toward Jian Qiuyu. Although her eyes were cold, Deng Li knew they were full of affection.
“Thank you, Teacher Jian.”
“You’re welcome, Chisui. It’s what I’m supposed to do.”
At the fork in the road, Jian Qiuyu and Qingshui left one after another. Only Deng Li and Song Chisui were left in the hallway. Deng Li was slowly pushing her when she remembered something. “Xiao Sui, wait a minute.” She had forgotten the food in the classroom.
The day was over, and school was out. Song Chisui hadn’t eaten or drunk anything. If this continued, she would be nothing but skin and bones.
In the hallway, the setting sun was turning from orange-red to light pink, casting a long shadow of the girl in the wheelchair.
She slowly opened her palm. In her sweaty, reddened palm lay a button the size of a fingernail. The mother-of-pearl shone with light. It had two holes, and the material was a rare, high-quality shell.
She twirled the button with her thumb and forefinger, holding it up to the light. She could see white fluff inside the button, like cotton.
A moment later, she heard footsteps in the hallway.
Song Chisui quickly put it away.
Deng Li walked up to her, holding things in both hands: a sandwich in one, and hot milk in the other. She was out of breath. “Xiao Sui, you must be hungry. Have something to eat.”
Song Chisui’s eyelashes went up. She quickly looked over Deng Li’s whole body, but she couldn’t find a similar button.
“Where did you go?”
Song Chisui’s eyes were calm, and her voice was peaceful.
“I went to get you food.”
“I meant earlier today. Where did you go?”
